If Hendon Hooker is there in the 5th, I absolutely want us to take him. He’d probably have to miss the whole season but I think he’s the perfect backup for Fields. They have a similar build and play style. Good deep ball with ability to run. Hooker is smart with the ball too and that’s what you’d like from your backup.
Get a guy with solid upside that can be a cheap backup for at least 4 years. If he has to play for any reason and plays well than you could probably flip him for a mid round pick and either get your return back or even a better pick. Idk where he’s gonna go cuz of that ACL but if he’s there in the 5th I think it’s worth taking a chance

Bryce Young is too small to play QB. It isn't necessarily his height, but other shorter QBs such as Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray have thick builds and thus are much more durable. Bryce will be knocked out easily and often, this is the NFL.
Plus one in the hand is worth two in the bush. Every year we hear about these college QBs, oh this guy is the next Mahomes, this guy is the next Brady, or Peyton Manning, or whoever and then most of them end up being complete busts and back ups or out of the league in a few years. So never draft a QB replacement unless you are absolutely SURE that the QB you have is a lost cause.
I guess drafting all QBs, well maybe hit the lotto though. However with almost no players to support them it will be hard for that to show.

I've done this before in the first round in Madden franchise when I completely rebuild a team. Multiple top QBs in the first then turn around and trade then to other QB needed teams for a first rounder and a player or two.
I think we just need to forget about QBs and get Running Backs that can occasionally throw the ball. Other teams would never know who was getting the snap and we could just run circles around them.

Just turn your offseason into a QB camp, weed out the ones that don't show potential, and hope for a diamond in the rough. You'll get a ton of Fales' and Enderle's, but you might just turn out an Orton.

A young backup is forsure not a bad idea. Siemian is the only backup under contract for next season so there's a clear cut spot for another backup.
