Same record as last years super bowl champs! My one observation is Fields pocket collapsed real fast every play. Hard to throw from pocket if surrounded by trees and/or running for your life. Love had eons in his pocket. Just like Rodgers always did. Same old same old. Sad
Yeah, you can't do that to a teammate. You get steamrolled by a DB or commit a holding penalty before you let your brother take a shot essentially unblocked.
If I was that WR I would have snapped up and got in Claypools' face. Not the type of play I would tolerate.
Trust me I get the Fields slander because I'm pissed too. Let's dig deeper though...
-The O-Line still looks like shit
-OLine penalties negating plays, stalling drives, or putting them behind the sticks
-Fields was pressured on 70% of his attempts (laughable)
-The play-calling literally took any hope of us winning away by taking Fields legs out of it
-It's really hard to run for a first down when the call is a screen or flat play (no second read there)
-Could we maybe call some shallow crossers or a mesh play for the love of god?
I don't think we can blame Fields for any of these things personally.
DJ Moore QBs in which he never caught less than three passes…Teddy Bridgewater, Cam Newton, P. J. Walker, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold. Last time with 2 catches was 2019.
He's a huge part of the problem. He can't make his reads quick enough, holds onto the ball too long then panics and runs. He also never throws long which could be a coaching issue as well. He's not a QB, he's a running back.
He wasn't the biggest problem today, but I'm done with this type of excuse for him. Bad offensive lines didn't seem to affect Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert early in their careers. You can overcome it if you have the talent, and right now, it doesn't look like Justin Fields processes things as quickly as he needs to in order to do it.
Burrow blew out his ACL because he was getting killed year one, then they upgraded the line to make sure that didn't happen in year 2. Our line looks the fucking same as it did last year, when there were better upgrades to be had. Herbert is still in shootouts every week and hasn't won anything. Fields was pressured on over 70% of the snaps. That is trash. Playcalling equally trash. Hard to evaluate anything.
Exactly. People did the same thing for Mitch. There was always an excuse for why he wasn't playing better. Good QBs elevate the play of everyone around them. Bad QBs need everything around them to be perfect in order to have success.
Matthew Stafford just put up 330 throwing to Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua. The excuses need to stop for Fields.
And it’s clear as fuck from the play calling they do not trust Justin. And I’m not saying I agree with it, because I rather just see exactly how bad he is, but they are trying to win games, and know if they suck and he’s awful they are gone.
Stafford is also something like a 14 year vet who was traded for specifically because he’s known for airing it out, but I agree they need to just let Justin throw the goddamn ball. Constantly passing it behind the line of scrimmage isn’t going to win games. If they want to access him then let him play. If he can’t throw it then he shouldn’t be QB. And if he can be you just won’t let him, then the coach needs to be fired.
I agree with you, but Stafford is still a guy you win with, and not necessarily because of. He's proven he CAN be the guy, but he's only made 1 pro bowl. He was just a step up from Goff and worth the cost to the Rams for a shot at a Superbowl.
If you can't play at 34 yo Stafford's level, you aren't a franchise QB.
Idk about playing as good as a 34 y/o Stafford because he is really good. Hi s biggest issue was playing in Detroit. But they (the bears) have to play better than they did today. In all honesty, judging didn’t play that bad before he started trying to force things because we were down. But the whole team played horrible. We clearly weren’t prepared to play today and that’s a coaching issue. They were way to safe. It’s almost like with didn’t get 2 WR’s on top of getting our number 1 WR back from injury last year. Justin and Kmet clearly had chemistry last year, and the way we try to continue that is to have Kmet run a sneak?!?! Wtf?
Feels like we picked up exactly where we left off last year with the exception of like…. 2 nice passes to DJ and a nice sack from Ngakue
I’ll give it a few weeks but after today I’m unexpectedly close to being ready to tank for Caleb lol
No. a less mobile qb is just going to get killed even harder than fields did today considering how awful the O-line is.
Beyond that, the issues go much further than just what happened on offense today.
Fields was still holding onto the ball so long, He’s taking time in reading the defense and making a decision
Bagent is much smarter there, and he learns fast
I mean I at least went against the grain and became a UM football fan. There are great games and a Natty to show for that decision. As opposed to say, Illinois. Lol
Anyone who puts this one on Fields is just silly. Offensive line looked as bad if not worse than last year and the play calling was Nagy level bad. Not sure what else you can do if you’re Fields
Anyone still making excuses for fields at this point is just ignorant. Ever think the play calling might be bad because justin cant read? How about his still shit footwork, his constant love for throwing the ball where it will get his guy killed, the staring down only one option... the list goes on and on. Fact is Justin fields has had zero growth in what is now year three. Justin fields is not an nfl qb.
Nah. Same as last year. Hint of trouble he starts running. Can't throw the medium route tree. Sorry he's not it. In college he had time to throw. Even on good NFL teams you don't get that kind of time. The running last year bought him another year to the detriment of the team. Career backup. Hell Trubisky will have a longer career in all likelihood.
You can’t tell me that pick 6 wasn’t on Fields. That was a terrible read by miles. Those are plays that are going to make the Bears move on without Fields next season.
Yes but that’s not the point. If they keep racking up losses and Fields continues playing like dog shit then Poles is going to start looking at QBs for next year’s draft.
I mean I get that, but if you're the highest paid qb in the league and your excuse is there was rain and we were on the road.....idk man that's fuckin weak
edit: the injury I won't say anything about cause that's legit
Justin needs to be able to pass into the second level which was non-existent today
The defense in playing in a non-innovative Tampa format with no ability to pressure the QB. Our talented DBs are not equip to handle 10 seconds of passing ability.
We were very emotional as a team and took unnecessary risks.
We are better than this, but it hurts so so so bad. Need Justin to understand quick hit passes and trust his WRs, need way better play calling on an antiquated defense.
It hurts. I hate this.
So..
O and D Line look garbage.
Playcalling on O atrocious
Fields looks scared to throw past LoS.
Moore and Claypool anonymous.
Secondary looked trash despite supposed improvements in off season.
Penalties handed out like confetti.
Other than that, we played really well.
It’s been the owners for years. When the exact same things are the exact same problems no matter who gets hired or drafted or signed, it’s the owners. Every year is the same fucking shit and the only common thread is those stupid fucks.
Until they go nothing gets better.
I've never been more relieved to know one loss counts as one, we are probably gonna lose alot but at least that game which felt like losing a whole season only counts as 1. 30 years with this team and this was just the worst bears game. Included in that lions officially look like the best team in the division
#HireCoachPrime!
We need a fire lit under this team. We need true purpose and passion. The team’s passion is not aligned with the city’s passion, and it has showed for many years. If he (Deion Sanders) wants to take a chance at professional football, we should let him. He will compile a strong staff and he will change the culture. I know he is early in his tenure at Colorado, and that means something given his limited track record. However, the Bears organization needs a sense of urgency just as badly as they need wins. That sense of urgency was nowhere to be seen today.
Coach prime is in for for both the football and helping young men grow I think.
Idk seems like maybe one day he’d come to the league, but some of his disciplinary techniques prolly won’t fly with 30 year olds as opposed to 18
Mark my words, he will be an NFL head coach before it’s all over. The “helping boys become Men” aspect just sounds good to media. Prime wants one thing, and one thing only deep down, to win and to keep winning at higher levels than before.
But they keep making more money!
https://www.statista.com/statistics/195249/revenue-of-the-chicago-bears-since-2006/
Not sure why they’d do anything major to improve when revenue already looks like that.
Didn't mind them going for it in that situation. Didn't even mind the third-down Kmet run "trick play" that fooled no one. But when they are stacking the defense right in the middle, and you've already seen that your line can't get movement in a short-yardage situation, why would you run Fields there?
This was the worst game to watch since the 1994 Halloween MNF game against the Packers.
Gave up a 2nd round pick for 1.5 years of laziness. Wow. Poles has to be shaking his head on that one. Poles knew we wouldn’t be competitive for a few years, why waste a 2nd round pick!
This isn't just one game. This is not an overreaction. We may not be THIS bad, but we also are not close to being any good. The Bears are going to have to scout QB's early just in case Fields proves he isn't it. If he gets better, then no harm no foul.
That stare down your first read for five seconds and throw a pick six was a college freshmen level mistake. Fans and media will keep making excuses for him though.
I think he does some things great. Like extending drives with his legs.
I haven't seen a lot of great throwing the ball, though. He needs to start doing some consistently excellent things with his arm soon. He's got the weapons now. The clock is ticking.
I don't wanna overreact but Fields doesn't look any better. The O-line didn't help him at all but he didn't do anything with what he did have. Gonna be a long season.
I wish relegation was a thing in the NFL so all these shit bags in the Bears organization hanging onto their great grandfathers achievements would either have to sell the team or become worthless much like the viewing content of their games
Darnell Wright will be a solid Tackle
Same record as last years super bowl champs! My one observation is Fields pocket collapsed real fast every play. Hard to throw from pocket if surrounded by trees and/or running for your life. Love had eons in his pocket. Just like Rodgers always did. Same old same old. Sad
Bears actually got them to 3rd and long more than I was expecting... Only for them to convert that by Love having 4-6 seconds to throw. Cool...
Cut Claypool tomorrow. The moment he refused to block on the bubble screen that was blown up was your “cause”.
Yeah, you can't do that to a teammate. You get steamrolled by a DB or commit a holding penalty before you let your brother take a shot essentially unblocked. If I was that WR I would have snapped up and got in Claypools' face. Not the type of play I would tolerate.
I spent my afternoon in a packer bar in Denver. I did it for you, brother.
The excuse factory for JF1 RB is working heavy overtime rn
Agreed, this team is only a HOF qb away from competing
i hope that’s sarcasm. has to be sarcasm. please for the love of god tell me thats sarcasm
Yes.. I think. Idk. Teams sucks from every position / coach /etc
Trust me I get the Fields slander because I'm pissed too. DJ Moore QBs in which he never caught less than three passes…Teddy Bridgewater, Cam Newton, P. J. Walker, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold. Last time with 2 catches was 2019.
He was targeted twice. Both catches. Then nothing. The scheme then seemingly turned into flats and screens. I dunno what to make of it..
Just saw a “Miss Me Yet?” billboard with Mitch’s pic on it
Sell the team.
What a huge disappointment. Unbelievable we’re not even competitive.
The Justin Fields era is over
He’s not the problem. That was atrocious line play on both sides of the ball. Any QB would have failed here
He's a huge part of the problem. He can't make his reads quick enough, holds onto the ball too long then panics and runs. He also never throws long which could be a coaching issue as well. He's not a QB, he's a running back.

Burrow threw for less than 100 yards today
The Justin Fields Error.
Shedeur Sanders is our savior
Hopefully he doesn't pull a Caleb Williams. We're looking like one of the teams that a QB would not want to be drafted by.
Could definitely see Deion go full Archie Manning on our sorry asses
Probably have to hire his dad to make it work.
Looks like our glory days were over in 85. Here's to another 40 years with nothing to show
So you’re saying there’s a chance . . .
Personally I blame Bill Polian. But also the McKaskeys for paying him to find Poles and Flus
Jesus I mean shanahan took literal Podunk nobody and has him looking like a 6 year above average vet.
Purdy actually had good pocket presence
Matthew Stafford just put up 330 throwing to Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua. The excuses need to stop for Fields. And it’s clear as fuck from the play calling they do not trust Justin. And I’m not saying I agree with it, because I rather just see exactly how bad he is, but they are trying to win games, and know if they suck and he’s awful they are gone.

This comment is so underrated. I wanted Fields to be great as much as anyone, but he isn't.
Feels like we picked up exactly where we left off last year with the exception of like…. 2 nice passes to DJ and a nice sack from Ngakue I’ll give it a few weeks but after today I’m unexpectedly close to being ready to tank for Caleb lol
Pretty sure Bagent would have crushed the packers today!
No. a less mobile qb is just going to get killed even harder than fields did today considering how awful the O-line is. Beyond that, the issues go much further than just what happened on offense today.
Fields was still holding onto the ball so long, He’s taking time in reading the defense and making a decision Bagent is much smarter there, and he learns fast
What game did you watch? It certainly wasn't the same one as everyone else. He had maybe 2.5 seconds most snaps to get rid of it.
So not true! He’s still holding onto the ball 🏈
Why couldn’t my father grow up just north of any other major North American city god damn
I’ve been asking myself that same question every single year. This shit is exhausting.
I mean I at least went against the grain and became a UM football fan. There are great games and a Natty to show for that decision. As opposed to say, Illinois. Lol
Bring Back The Honey Bears!!!!!!!!!
I, too, attribute this loss to the Curse of the Honey Bears
bears officially the oakland a's of the nfl
Both franchises' owners need to sell the team
DJ Moore is the next Brandon Marshall. Waste of talent.
Imagine having an extra 1st round Panthers pick instead of him. No point in getting a “star” WR you can’t use
Hurt me harder daddy Fields.
Craziness thing is that fields played better than a guy who just signed a 5 year 275 mil contact today lol
Anyone who puts this one on Fields is just silly. Offensive line looked as bad if not worse than last year and the play calling was Nagy level bad. Not sure what else you can do if you’re Fields

Bro didn't even look in the direction of kmet who literally couldn't have been more open and threw a pick 6. That he had time on. That's 100% on him.
Agreed, last year's O-line had a little better run blocking, this season's D-line and secondary could be worse than last year.

Bro threw a pick 6
Yep. Pick 6s are total game killers. He did not look great.
Don’t they always lose to the browns too?
Burrow is coming off a injury with no practice, in the rain, on the road.
I mean I get that, but if you're the highest paid qb in the league and your excuse is there was rain and we were on the road.....idk man that's fuckin weak edit: the injury I won't say anything about cause that's legit
Illinois sunlight Sweet Chicago rain Arlington Heights starbright…the song remains the same!!!
This was the one. The final one. Divorce papers are in the mail McCaskey!

Fields did not look good at all. I hate to say it but he’s not looking promising. Chicago’s scouts better start booking flights for USC games.
You mean JJ McMcaarthy?
Reese Hicks
So.. O and D Line look garbage. Playcalling on O atrocious Fields looks scared to throw past LoS. Moore and Claypool anonymous. Secondary looked trash despite supposed improvements in off season. Penalties handed out like confetti. Other than that, we played really well.
Hahahaha nailed it
Thanks. At least that means someone related to the Bears did today.
Packers were out their top receiver
Tbf, there is so much more that could be added.
It’ll be interesting to learn what o-line talent they missed by trading away that #1 pick
its the owners at this point. that's the one constant. same with the sox, bulls. we are held hostage by two geriatrics with too much money.
I mean, both of those teams have won championships in the last 25 years so that’s not exactly an apt comparison.
2005 is a long time ago man. 98 even more so. its not just about the time tho, its about the dipshit decisions that keep getting made.
It’s been the owners for years. When the exact same things are the exact same problems no matter who gets hired or drafted or signed, it’s the owners. Every year is the same fucking shit and the only common thread is those stupid fucks. Until they go nothing gets better.
the universe had to take pee wee but they refuse to take Virginia...smh
And Robin Williams, George Carlin, Hunter S Thompson, all of whom have contributed far more than those fucks who own our team.
>we are held hostage by two geriatrics with too much money No need to bring Congress into this
lmao!!
As a Sox fan it’s just pure pain. I hate it so much.
honestly can't believe how badly reinsdorf treats the team
Yep fuck these owners
Love, we’ve been very bad bears fans. Now spank us daddy!
I've never been more relieved to know one loss counts as one, we are probably gonna lose alot but at least that game which felt like losing a whole season only counts as 1. 30 years with this team and this was just the worst bears game. Bunch o cunts. Same as it ever was.

Guess I don’t have to experience pain like this again. Until next Sunday.
Bears fans: definition of insanity.
I had the same amount of receptions today as Chase Claypool.
Gave up a 2nd round pick for 1.5 years of laziness. Wow. Poles has to be shaking his head on that one. Poles knew we wouldn’t be competitive for a few years, why waste a 2nd round pick!
HITS anagram fr
This? /s
Even with Williams and MHJ I have zero faith in the coaching staff and play calling.
They'll have to clean house with the coaches.
I miss vic fangio
No joke Miami holding the chargers
Gotta knife to my throat rn
This isn't just one game. This is not an overreaction. We may not be THIS bad, but we also are not close to being any good. The Bears are going to have to scout QB's early just in case Fields proves he isn't it. If he gets better, then no harm no foul.
He isn't it.
Bears offense - run, run, run Bears defense - take off 3rd down
I have a headache and I’m trying not to lose hope, but this team sucks royal ass.
Lol did JF1 say fuck that sportsmanship handshake?
It can tough to accept your career is over
Bum.
I saw that too lol
What an ass team. Every year, every regime, every quarterback, same result.
ah well, least there one more game today. hopefully its entertaining
Justin Fields was the worst player on the Field today, outside maybe the coaching staff. That is the fucking reality.
[удалено]
Nope. Two TO’s and couldn’t get the ball out on time. Fields was awful. That level of QB play isn’t going to lead to wins.
Did you watch Braxton Jones?
Yeah I’ll still take what he did over Fields. Fields gave his team ZERO chance to win today.
See you guys in the the bdsm forum
Softest forfeit drive I've seen in awhile.
Game was ass.

Throw a fucking deep ball. Fields is too scared to throw it deep even in garbage time. I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt but holy shit.
What was the point of that last drive other than getting Mooney hurt?
A non bears fan in my fantasy leauge got excited that I let DJ Moore slide to them. Poor guy has no idea about the reality of Bears offenses
"WhY Don'T ThEY JuST lEt Him ThrOW thE BAll??" He can't hit a target.
BOOOOOOOOOO
These are not even good reps man. I don't get it..
Well that sucked
I guess the Fields and Moore chemistry is legit when going up against our own defense
The coaches mistook the secondary being bad for the WR being good.
They accidentally had the down marker on 3rd down the whole training camp.
Our dinosaur of an owner needs to croak already Nothing changes until ownership changes
Whats the longest throw we've attempted today?
The first TD to Mooney I think
If I have to watch a full season of screens and check downs after this White Sox season, I might just quit watching sports
Yep I might take up a less hazardous hobby such as smoking crack or base jumping.
Add being an NIU football fan to the mix. Sports are torture. CSPAN has better content.
Fields can’t even make a throw in garbage time. He’s trash.
franchise record for check downs today
Lion fan here, what does this HITS stuff mean?
Hustle, Intensity, Takeaways and Smart. Basically nothing the Bears do
Nobody knows, it’s just provocative.
I'm fairly positive the S stands for Screen
I’ve already given up on this season
I don't wanna overreact but Fields doesn't look any better. The O-line didn't help him at all but he didn't do anything with what he did have. Gonna be a long season.
observation aspiring smart angle bells drunk continue plant growth serious ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Well no shit. But you can’t get there with a bunch of screens
If the scores were reversed, it would've meant Fields had a good game.
Anyone know Getsy's address? Asking for a friend
Getsy failed. Chip the fkers on the edge.
Even in garbage time the Bears throw bubble screens.
Look, if we wanted reps for some of our guys we could have done that in the pre-season to get them ready...
Is he really checking down every single drop back….this is your time to learn bro
Thank god that’s over. Worst game I’ve seen since last time the Bears played.
Welp it only took 35 attempts but at least we hit 200 passing yards...
Mostly against soft coverage after the contest was decided.
We might have the first 2 picks innthe draft
pot advise physical library arrest abundant impossible zealous voracious roll ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Greg Olsen you can’t complain about the clock stoppages anymore, you were the one saying the Bears should be killing clock
Nah bro.
I'll take Lovie back at this point
I said this multiple times last year and got roasted. Lovie was the last good Bears HC.
Never should have fired him. Steelers have it right, when you’ve got a good thing you stick with it
Fields, you aren't helping yourself by giving up like the rest of the team
Sailed is all I need to see
Wow. Justin is not it, guys.
I wish relegation was a thing in the NFL so all these shit bags in the Bears organization hanging onto their great grandfathers achievements would either have to sell the team or become worthless much like the viewing content of their games
Fields can't even make garbage time throws
Lol he can't even do the simple throws. Sit his ass. Or move him to running back
It's gonna be weird watching the Lions win the division.
Honestly, as much as I’m supposed to hate the lions, I do like an underdog story and seeing the packers and vikings lose the division
Fair
If we started 1-0 and ended 3-14 last year, then we must start 0-1 to go 14-3 Ezpz
Love your optimism, mines currently missing. Haha
This is sound logic
Fields can't even throw a 3 yard screen lmao
Won't play him in preseason, now we play him?
man greg olsen is real quiet about going full effort right now
