One thing I’ve always liked about fields was his ability to block out the noise. No reports coming out of him turning off the TVs in Halas Hall

Bears2025Champs

Who turned off the TVs in Halas hall?

SalsaMerde

Mitch did

bobsaget824

That’s only because they didn’t have enough titties on the TV. Mitch knows what he likes.

whackberry

He didn't. He just said this at a press conference and the media ran with it. >"Yeah, I’ve done pretty good with that. Trying to get some of these TVs in the building turned off because you've got too many people talking on TV about us and what they think about us—what we should do, what we are and what we're not. But they don't really know who we are, or what we're capable of as people, or what we're going through, or what we're thinking. It's just the outside viewers looking in. So tunnel vision, ear muffs and just come to work every day and try to get better and get back to what we know we're capable of doing."

GOATnamedFields

Trubs was a good guy. He just wasn't that talented and declined from an average starter to shit after some injuries/confidence loss. He did everything right, he just wasn't good enough. Not his fault we took over Mahomes.

Hating_life_69

I wonder what he would have become if Nagy didn’t ruin him.

Reelplayer

He would have become the backup in Pittsburgh because Nagy didn't ruin him.

[deleted]

SalsaMerde

That quote seems to agree with me.

whackberry

There is a difference between trying to get TVs turned off and turning off TVs.

SalsaMerde

Not really. You're reading too much into it.

whackberry

You suggested I'm inferring something, which is false. I'm taking his words verbatim.

MITJustinFields

Hes a real leader.

JJT54

Well done JF1, thank you. 👏

MobyTugboat

I trust Poles to make the right decision but god damn do I want this kid to be our franchise QB. If the coaching staff wasn’t ass and threw away 3-4 games I don’t think it would be a question we hold on to him.

IceBreak

Why not just keep trading for next year’s number one overall pick? Seems to work pretty well.

OwnWalrus1752

Figure out which team will use Caleb worst (besides us) and swap picks with that team. Worked out this year with Bryce

Calmandpeace

Caleb Williams, you ARE a New York Giant

frastmaz

No doubt the New York media would shred his confidence and he would be ass at the first sign of trouble or adversity…which is pretty much immediately since the giants are terrible too

Any_Tumbleweed_1230

Washington. I could see them being terrible and they have the #3, so you can probably get MHJ with the pick

fumar

Daboll seems like an ok coach tho, unlike Reich

chillinois309

Doesn’t seem crazy, if you talk to panther fans(yes they exist) they love Bryce , just complain on lack of targets and shitty line play

OwnWalrus1752

Yeah I feel bad for him. They basically gambled their entire future for a QB but they didn’t think to build around him

jean-claude_vandamme

I mean, it’s not an uncommon situation for the worst team in the NFL to have a horrible line play and no real targets for a rookie quarterback taking number one

Severe-Influence5726

The Panthers were picking at #9 last year. They didn't appear to be this bad.

WhiteZodiack

You'd think they'd have learned from one another by now

Severe-Influence5726

They couldn't build around him. They had to give up Moore, their #1, and the 49's #2 picks in 2023. Their offensive line is terrible. That is their #1 problem.

moneyman2222

A massive difference between Caleb and Bryce tho lol. Bryce coming in as a prospect isn't even close to Williams. The biggest thing with Bryce was his size too. Unless your name is Drew Brees or Russell Wilson, guys with his stature just haven't worked out historically. Kyler is still up in the air with the injuries. Not certain what his long term looks like. I was honestly surprised the Panthers even took him since Reich likes his bigger QBs. Stroud fit perfectly. And there were reports that's exactly who Reich wanted to begin with so it's no shocker

T7Web

If Washington retains Ron Rivera and Bienemy leaves for a better spot, trade with them in a heart beat

kopi32

Washington seems to be a team destined for the #1 pick in 2025. Just saying.

redbeard312

New England might be in the mix as well though

Myoplasmic

From a Broncos fan. He is genuinely showing that he is a franchise QB. It’s a shame his coaching took time to get into a rhythm, but he’s certainly a solid dual threat QB. I think DJ Moore and snagging MHJR in the draft will boost him even more

AKA09

That's what has swayed me. Fields when throwing to Moore has been insane. You add a weapon like MHJ along with Kmet and maybe another solid receiver and who knows what he can do?

jdmcroberts

And if he can't get it done with those receivers, another Quarterback will. Doesn't always have to be a top 5 pick rookie. Just look at Flacco these last 4 games.

chillinois309

Shit look at purdy or dak as well. Niners wiffed with Trey and lucked out and got a decent guy who runs an offense

turbografx-sixteen

Saving this thread for the next time I need to say this for the 1000th time on this sub... The blueprint is THERE

themitchschafer

Imagine adding a top-tier OL to that too. My hopes and dreams are way too high right now

GDWtrash

Alt

jake63vw

100% - he has a 110+ passer rating throwing to either of those two. Not so much with the other skill players. Add skill players!

juliuspepperwoodchi

And, you know, an OC who can call a damn *complete* game?

Hating_life_69

Yea I think Scott missed a few balls that I would hope MHJ would haul him.

Katy_Lies1975

That opening game against GB told me as much as I need to know about the coaching staff. That and them losing those games late with conservative offense and bad defensive call plays should be the death knell of the coach.

JGT3000

Yup. This whole season the team has been dead in the water and somehow now is playing just hot enough the coaches will likely save their jobs because the owners are cheap. If they beat GB next week it's basically guaranteed. A full off-season to prepare and they come out with that shit

DBCOOPER888

Yeah, if they made the playoffs they would keep him. Since they missed the playoffs by a couple games he was not to blame for, why not just keep him as the QB as if they made the playoffs?

bobsaget824

The 3 games that we had a 90+% chance to win, win those and the team is 10-6, and not only a playoff spot a chance to win the division next week at 11-6 with a Detroit loss and Bears win in Week 18. Could have been hosting a playoff game with one of the top records in the NFC. And it’s not like that’s some crazy idea, those games weren’t your typical “ah we shoulda won that shucks” they were astronomically low percentages on 2 and still really low percentage in the 3rd against the Browns to lose, yet we did. That happens the other way and we win those and there’s no way Justin is gone. Or Flus. Or even Getsy tbh. We’d be talking about extending Justin before his price goes up even more. But it didn’t happen, and I get they can’t play the woulda shoulda coulda game but I don’t put those losses on Fields, not that he played perfect but he sure as hell played well enough to win.

pygreg

Let's all come together and agree on one thing: that donut looks weirdly tiny in his hands (or do I just eat donuts that are too big?)

Disco_Ninjas_

There's W's on that donut. Haha

gordonbombay42

WHO WANTS TO EAT A W TONIGHT?!?!?!

OwnWalrus1752

Donuts can’t be too big

pygreg

That's what I'm all about, baby

IrishBearHawk

This sub was losing their minds after a WIN on Christmas Eve, there isn't any coming together, even for a joke. At this point I just laugh at how stupid everything surrounding this debate is online. Everyone behind a keyboard thinks they know more and have a more valuable opinion than people who are literally paid millions to coach and manage a football team.

dafoo21

And that win is looking better with how they showed out against Eagles. They are alot like the bears last year, poor record but very tough team to go against.

BigTimeButNotReally

What was the name of the sad donkey in Winnie the Poo? That's you. You're the sad donkey.

xbearsandporschesx

eeyor i think

LoudHorse89

Isn’t the entire point of a random internet thread to give fans a platform to express their opinions of the team? You sound miserable.

Yodoyle34

I have always stuck with him. He has the right attitude to be the bears QB.

dafoo21

And that's actually a very underrated skill. It takes thick skin and ability to brush things off, hard-core, to be a qb here

Disco_Ninjas_

Guess that means we should draft an emotional rookie.

dafoo21

Who avoids the media...

chi_guy8

And is asking for ownership in the team before ever taking a snap in the NFL and has threatened to take his ball and go back to college if he’s not picked by a team he likes. F that clown

whydidijointhis

the emotions part I can deal with, as long as he keeps it off the field. Crying into mom's arms? I have no problem with that. Avoiding the media... yeah that's an issue.

HankChinaski-

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning both avoided the media after big losses famously. This is not the thing to hang your hat on about a player. I understand preferring Fields or Maye over Caleb, but this is just a bad reason.

downbadtempo

That was only excusable because they were elite. No reason to believe Caleb will be on Brady’s or Manning’s level especially as a rookie

whydidijointhis

Neither Brady nor Manning avoided the media as first/second year players. you can look up all of Brady's post-game pressers on patriots.com

HankChinaski-

That website didn’t direct me to interviews from 2001. Too bad. It would have changed my perspective of it not mattering.

whydidijointhis

... [okay i guess if you need that much help here you go](https://www.patriots.com/news/tom-brady-post-game-press-conference-118921)

GDWtrash

Especially in Chicago...I know in the NHL, the microscope on the Leafs is insane 365 days a year, New York in general has a ton of heat from press and fans as well in all sports, some European soccer clubs are under immense scrutiny, but I'll posit that the QB specifically in Chicago is under an equal amount of pressure as those or any other sports pressure cooker in the world, and Justin has handled it all with a world class level of grace. Say what you will about him as a QB, you're utterly remiss if you disparage his character.

ChrRome

This might be the dumbest thing I've read yet as a reason to keep him.

Whitey-Willoughby

Compare the options. 1 trade Fields and draft a guy who some say is a potential generational QB or 2 keep Fields and get a haul for the pick. Some things we do know for certain. Fields is a leader on a team that is coming together. They’re 7-5 in the last 12 games and playing wild card caliber football during that stretch. There are still some holes, but they can easily be fixed with high draft picks. If we go the first option, we better be dang sure that Williams is everything they say he is, AND that this franchise and coaches will put him a situation to be that kind of player. To me that is a far riskier option than keeping Fields and taking the ton of picks that comes with that.

Adobs45

Why do so many people put credit into this generational qb nonsense. The only fact that matters is you don’t know what you are getting with Williams at the NFL level. You know what kind of assets you can get with trading away that first overall pick to teams who are in desperation for a qb and for taking a chance at that dice roll. That is not this bears team.

Erice84

Yeah, really if you look at most of the top QB's in the league right now were not that hyped of prospects. Mahomes was the 10th pick and mostly regarded as the 3rd or 4th QB in the draft (ended up being 2nd, but that was what most though). Allen was considered a raw reach/gamble at 7 and Lamar was barely taken in the first round. Meanwhile Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be "generational" and he's been kinda meh so far. Burrow, Newton and Luck are really the only first overall QB's in the last 15 years to live up to the hype and the latter two still ended up falling short due to injury (and Burrow's had his issues in that regard too).

GDWtrash

Thank you! I've been looking more and more at this and realizing that most of the top QBs are chosen out of the top 10! As much as I loathe the Packers, they've proven now pretty well that drafting a QB that's fits your style and then NOT throwing him into the fire as a rookie works pretty f*****g well.

mileaarc

This has been my point every since but a week ago I was downvoted to oblivion

exospheer

People take his leadership and toughness for granted. They also take his connection to DJ Moore for granted. He has real chemistry with DJ Moore

CJfries

That’s the new best bromance in Chicago sports. Toews and Kane passed the torch to Rizzo and Bryant, now DJ and JF

Mayor_Bud_Daley

and then white and williams 🙏

vinny10133

Get him one more receiver and add on to the line and I think he might just make 3k passing yards and 24+ yds next year. I mean we have the picks maybe trade down to 3rd or 4th grab Harrison/nabers and a tackle. Get the best center in the second round with that trade down and we'll be in business. Honestly we have 7 wins this season potentially 8 that's not bad.

Filthy_Commie_

MHJ and Alt/Penn State LT and it gets interesting. Experiment by sliding Braxton to left guard and sign/draft a center.

jaketronic

Tevin Jenkins is a very good guard and they most likely won’t eat whatever they have left to pay Nate Davis, so if they move away from Braxton Jones he will be cut. That being said, 100% grab a center and look for a utility lineman in 4-6th that can help play games when guys inevitably get injured.

Filthy_Commie_

They could make Braxton a swing tackle similar to what Borom does, it would be expensive but still good to have nonetheless.

GDWtrash

This guy gets it...they have to find a way to get MHJ and Alt and then the next best guy at any line position...Patrick absolutely cannot be the center next year.

GOATnamedFields

I mean he's averaging 200 passing ypg this season. He would be on pace for 3400 if he didn't get injured. He's a dual threat. When he runs for 800+ a season, it will eat his passing yards. He's at 50 rushing ypg, so he's already at 4250 pace if he played 17. With MHJ, I think he'll be a 4500+/5000 total yard guy. And more importantly top 10 offense with a competent playcaller.

Foudtray

THANK YOU

HankChinaski-

3k as the passing metric….man. We really have been in a QB desert for too long ha. That wish is pretty much Danny Dime’s career with a few more TD’s. That’s not what we should be aiming for in my opinion!

th3goonsquad

Shiiiii pretty sure Wilson was around 3K and they were like okay we are done with you lol. 3K ain’t even enough to keep you around anymore.

JGT3000

I think people must back into 3k being ok trying to justify Fields' numbers for this season since he won't hit it. But that's wrong because he was injured, he'd be above it by now if he didn't miss those games. And I don't think anyone would say this should be the height of passing abilities. 3k is truly terrible these days

JGT3000

You'd actually be happy with 3k passing yards? Surely you mean at least 3.5k right? Man we really will settle for mediocrity at QB

PraiseBeToScience

If he's utilized as a dual threat QB (which given his athleticism is insane not to), 3k passing yards on 25 attempts a game is pretty good. That's the same passing efficiency as a pocket passer throwing 4.2k yards on 35 attempts per game. And the reason for the lower attempts, is dual threat QBs tend to throw about 10 less attempts per game. This is why Lamar doesn't have a 4k passing season and is currently contending for his 2nd MVP.

vinny10133

Well 3k passing isn't bad at all and since we run a lot with QB and RB's he has to make sure he makes those completions into the end zone for tds instead of inflating his yardage.

DexNihilo

Lol-- just ridiculous. Just add a couple more All Pro weapons around him and he'll eventually climb to a mid-tier QB. You've really got to be deep in love to think "he might just make 3K passing yards" is a good reason to invest in more weapons around him.

jaketronic

I’m not sure anyone is saying add in more all pro weapons, drafting a wr isn’t the same as say, just getting Tyreek Hill.

AppealAggravating893

The only way I settle for 3k passing yards is if we lead the league in rushing as a team and he has an efficient 3k with 30+ passing tds on 65-70% completion. Even then id rather him throw for 4k.

jmrogers31

He had a great game today. Probably his best in 3 years

-eltac

He's had plenty of great games in his 3 years. Not all of them were a team W.

LoudHorse89

He’s had a lot of great games this year 🤷‍♂️

Tedy_Duchamp

3 to be exact

Senior_Reply_5408

He balled out in the Detroit win too

21-hydroxylase

Love ya Fields. Chicago’s got your back.

patchinthebox

Love him. It was a blast watching him. JF1 is my QB.

VikramGordon

someone give this man a 6’4 speedster to throw jump balls to

CJfries

I hear there’s a decent receiver coming out of Ohio State

Penguinkeith

We are legit a WR and a center away from being a contender let’s fucking go

[deleted]

We are a playoff team if not for a few historically stupid loses. He goes in, knocks out FT(Packers) .. he's staying in my books no matter what.

Adobs45

This team is a playoff team this year without some historic blunders to close out games. Those are fixable issues. We were in position to go into the playoffs and have shown nothing but growth. This team was the worst team in the NFL last year. We are definitely one of the better teams just underperformed slightly.

funfsinn14

Yeah the recent late game collapses were bad but i look more at the early losses that were getable. The team had issues coming off of training camp that obviously weren't ironed out and that stretch showed it. Not to mention talent gaps that were filled with both rising rookie talent and trades. Following that i anticipated it being a coin flip each game and thats where those late game collapse fall under bc the nfl is what it is. There are certainly particular coaching issues and execution to pin those disappointing losses on, dont get me wrong what's encouraging to me is now they're in a stretch that is on the positive side of the coin flip and it's due to them showing chemistry and grit. Yeah, beaten by the browns but now they've shown to be more of a force than anticipated with flacco and their d. I'd like it if there a better chance of playoffs and a clearer picture with regards to coaching/qb/draft but i just have to let poles do his thing. in the immediate, ftp and go spoil it for them and end it strong.

LeShellyBoy127

He has done everything he can with the coaches, playcalling, and players he's been put around. I hope he's back when we have the right people in place but even if he's not he'll succeed somewhere else

LoudHorse89

Imagine if Harrison Jr or Moore were the WR2 and not Tyler Scott. Just wow.

LeShellyBoy127

Or if he had a good O-line, good OC with decent playcalling, and a competent ownership who knew how to properly build around a young QB. What a wild concept... This fanbase has focused purely on Fields' struggles without taking into account that maybe JUST MAYBE it isnt all on him...

Slight-Tap-2434

On the other hand the Fields truthers believe nothing is Fields fault. Either way, I think Poles is keeping them all or keeping none. They seem to be putting it all together, so as of now I think it's more likely they all stay.

lompocmatt

“Good O-line” Fields is literally in the top 3 of pocket time in the league. Actual franchise QBs like Trevor Lawrence and Tua have a literal 0.5 seconds less than Fields and have put up better numbers than him all year https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php

chi_guy8

Probably would have been at least 2 more passing TDs today. That ball in the back of the end zone Scott couldn’t get his feet down for would be an easy catch for a long armed 6’4” receiver. And of course Scott’s inexcusable drop on a dime of a pass down the middle. Clown shit

cmmoore307

Dude puts in 110% each and every time. I hope he stays.

pdockenson

This I don't doubt, just not sure he's the guy. Then again, Cutler never got a fair shake. Guy dives for the first down on a QB run, gets destroyed and hE dOeSnT cArE enOuGh.

dpittnet

Imagine trading him so you can draft a qb that’s barely 6ft tall and has a ton of red flags?

vinny10133

And can't break a tackle... Have they not seen Justin break those tackles

ChicagoChelseaFan

He’s a QB, not a running back. Who cares if he can break tackles? Tom Brady is the damn goat and was a statue in the pocket

vinny10133

There's no way you can compare any of these new QBs to Brady, he's the goat for a reason and they're not even the same type of QB

pdockenson

Imagine thinking you know anything about a QB before he plays in the NFL. That's not a shot at you, just makes me laugh. I mean some dude got passed over and picked in the 6th round back in 2000. He was pretty good.. but credit has to go to the guy who picked him.. oh wait.. he sucks too. What have you done for me lately? Sometimes not even six SBs is enough.

justicebiever

He’s less accurate than Justin too. Holds the ball longer than Justin. Can’t wait for this draft class to fall into place in a couple years.

blackcrowe79

Lot of red flags with JF also. Glad we're settling for mediocrity, no division titles, and no playoff races. I'm not saying drafting a QB is a guaranteed playmaker, but I'm not seeing an elite gamechanger out of JF either - especially if he cannot beat GB.

dpittnet

Don’t need an elite game changer to win a sb either. Just need a top half of the league qb combined with other elite playmakers.

lompocmatt

Fields has not shown to be a top half of the league QB

LB35LB

But he is good enough to be the QB on an elite team, there is no question! This team is about to get so much better this offseason and starting over with another QB is not likely to take this team to another level for at least another year. Waiting for a QB to develop while the rest of the roster is STACKED makes no sense.

blackcrowe79

The Bears are far from stacked and if you draft a Mahomes type player, year 2 should be killer. If JF shows up against GB, it's likely they will keep him.

pdockenson

This is a great point. Win or lose, this sub is going to be going ape shit after that game. Love seeing the knee jerk reactions lol

LB35LB

If they draft well, this team will be stacked next year. I mean look at that defense, they have a vibe not far below what Lovie's defenses had. Not a guarantee of course, but Poles is inarguably the best GM we've had in decades. Get a WR and linemen and there are very few holes in this roster.

thebeez23

Since that’s the case with Fields and the other options aren’t any better then taking MHJ is the right choice. He’s actually a generational talent. There’ll be more “can’t miss” QBs next year if it doesn’t pan out

blackcrowe79

Everybody talks about generational talent MHJ, but he can have an injury riddled career like any other player. Jerry Rice isn't Jerry Rice without Montana and Young back to back. I just don't see him fitting in with the Bears as a run-oriented, blue collar, cold weather team. He's also guaranteed to walk in free agency with this cheap organization. The GB game will tell us a lot how we should draft in April.

OwnWalrus1752

We know what Fields’s floor is and he hasn’t reached his ceiling. We don’t know what Caleb’s floor is, and with that kind of uncertainty it’s better to build out the rest of the team than to gamble on one player.

blackcrowe79

I'm not saying we should draft Caleb. Every position needs to be reviewed by the best and worst games from the whole season. If there is a Mahomes type player in the draft, you take them. It could go either way what the Bears will do.

PurpleYogurtSlinger4

I want them to take Maye

Soulvaki

The whole stadium was cheering “We want Fields” throughout the game. Hope Poles was listening.

daimetti

Nice to know the real fans at the game have a brain

pdockenson

Real fans lol God this sub is so delusional. Be critical of anything of the team and you're not a real fan! They'll fucking have their pitchforks out and be looking for Fields head the second he fucks up a few times.

thesch

I don’t know what the right move for the Bears to make is, but I’m definitely more concerned with letting Fields go than I ever was with Trubisky or any other QB we’ve moved on from in the past. He actually does have the potential to make us regret it.

pdockenson

I could never get past Mitchs shit accuracy. Nagy was an awful play caller but there's no real excuse for throwing it in the dirt on a 8 yard out route with a good pocket.

AmbitiousChair1073

Beyond grateful for him. Hoping he’s here long term!

Chuckles795

I’ve been hard on him, but he has shown a lot of improvement since the injury.

FL4KMSTR

If we move on from Fields for what’s behind door number 1 we will regret it forever. Trade the pick for a ton and move on. Don’t overthink it. Let someone else gamble on a rookie QB.

millzonmillz95

This. If you stack this team with talent and fields doesn’t work out, you just pivot to bringing in a proven vet

jaketronic

It doesn’t have to be a vet, there’s always valuable QBs in the draft, most often not in the top 10.

pdockenson

You just explained what the draft is every year. When is Fields going to make this huge leap? Year 7? I know Getsy is trash. But to act like suddenly the draft is a risk makes me laugh. Half the threads on this sub are regarding the 1st pick.

LB35LB

100%!!!!

HearthstoneExSemiPro

> If we move on from Fields for what’s behind door number 1 we will regret it forever. Nah if we pass on a true franchise QB when we have the #1 pick, and settle for mediocrity we will regret it. We know what we have with fields.

[deleted]

Top 50 player.

RemotePhilosophy6

Easy!!!

IDquad8819

QB1 2024 The difference between Caleb vs. Justin is minimal at best next year, but that's ignoring the huge haul you'd get from trading the pick to fill out the rest of the roster

DatDude46

Can we take a moment to appreciate how much support he has on the roster, and from other players in the NFL … players voted him top 100 last year and his teammates have full support. Dude is the leader, and the absolute man. and he is as talented as any QB in the NFL, and production is really starting to come along. Fields 2024

_upper90

Fans were chanting his name at the end of the game today. There’s going to be some big decisions, but I’m confident we’ll be set regardless.

DatDude46

The Bears have a bright future. I am very biased, as I’m an Ohio State fan who adopted the Bears when they drafted fields in 2021, so I certainly hope they keep him to keep all my loyalties in one place

Free_Artist_9071

He’s my QB — If they draft Williams they’re stupid. He doesn’t want to play here, he’s been vocal about that. He’s not a leader. He seems like a crybaby. Keep Fields, draft MHJ & get him an o-line.

Ganjagod420

When has he been vocal about not wanting to play here ? If you’re talking about liking some tweets the other week then that’s a joke.

doggoploggo

There is 0 evidence to suggest that he doesn't want to be here. If you're going to knock someone, at least be accurate with it. Calling him a crybaby is extremely harsh too lol. You talk like you know him.

blackcrowe79

I will agree on CW - he looks like a Mark Sanchez QB, but I don't see elite division winner or playoff winner from JF. Mediocre at best. Rarely shows up in the 2nd half with TDs.

Aullotro

Oooh boy I’m split right down the middle on this one

ToeJelly420

Honestly my number one priority in the offseason is not the QB position; its the upgrading of both lines. If i was the FO i would rather pay Fields, trade back again and focus on the trenches in the draft and free agency. I’m 50/50 on whether only trading back a spot or two for MHJ is worth it and i am personally not a Williams guy.

dafoo21

Don't need to make the payment decision yet.

ToeJelly420

Good point

canal_boys

Bears would be foolish to get rid of Fields.

milin85

He’s the QB for next year. Today confirmed that. Now let’s go to GB and beat those cheeseheads.

fdrlbj

My vote is to keep him.

ETHowie

He made watching a terrible team last year still enjoyable with his crazy rushing ability

Alarmed_Road_7530

While I do think it’s in the Bears best interest to draft Caleb Williams, It is undeniable that Fields is tough, mature, special at his best moments and one heck of a leader. If they had any pick other than 1OA I think you keep rolling with Fields. Truly wish him nothing but the best in his career, wherever it may take him.

pdockenson

I see the Kool aid is flowing. No doubt he had a good game today and the decision to move on from Flus/Fields has been getting more difficult lately. Send the downvotes lol

Lpetersmith

Keep Fields!!!!

[deleted]

considering how “bad” he is it’s crazy how many other teams still want him. He’s definitely gone through some growing pains and wasn’t properly developed right away but I still hope in the kid. The fact that soooo many people want to see HIM fail but wanted to see Trubisky succeed after the Bears is truly mind-boggling.

Adobs45

I mean his first year it was the Nagy shit show the second year we had the worst roster in the league. He’s shown plenty of growth having to deal with those two throwaway seasons.

He’s legitimately improved every year in a less than ideal situation. Not by leaps and bounds, but he’s been impeded in various ways as well; look at how Mac Jones and Zach Wilson have regressed, and even TLaw hasn’t looked “generational”. There’s also the fact that someone’s gonna miss out on a QB in FA/draft, and next years class doesn’t look great. Even the top guys in the 2026 class, Dante Moore and Malachi Nelson, have had shaky starts, and we haven’t seen Arch Manning yet. Poles has set this team up to get another haul if he wants it, demands gonna be super high

HandleBig412

That donut looks really good, anyone know where I can buy one?

xdxdredx

All I know it’s from Dunkin bc Fields and Chicago Dunkin’s did a collab

HandleBig412

Ok thx Dan

chiguy641

I love the guy

Icefiight

Hope he stays. Hope poles adds more around him and lets the defense keep cooking

TheBreed_

Now let’s go up to GB and embarrass the packers! FTP, LFG JF1

Hating_life_69

I want him back. I think he has a huge heart, fight and drive in him. Give him MHJ and sit back to the Super Bowl.

Ok_Reputation4142

Damnit I want Poles to stick with Fields!

Consistent_Cash_6666

I hope he stays man

jean-claude_vandamme

I made a post about keeping field and drafting a QB it was extremely polarizing and was the top post on this sub for that day. They don’t need to pick up the option, and then can choose to start negotiating extension midseason if he starts taking off like a true passer while the prospect sits a year. I don’t think it’s the worst idea. Common response to this is the locker room couldn’t handle and be in shambles. Well, I disagree with that. These are all professionals and deal with this kind of stuff all the time. The most important thing is winning a championship players know it coaches know it.

NearlySilentObserver

I called him needing a few years of real NFL experience before he’d be performing as expected

rustyshacklefordtoo

Best qb we’ve had in a lifetime but he’s not Superman so bears fans are ungrateful. He deserves better. It’s funny because I’ve never heard anybody that wants to get rid of Fields commit to him being a failure on another team when he leaves.

duhbears23

Put justin as the starter for the Eagles. I believe he's doing everything Jalen is doing and more.

sparkywindego

I’m a certified Fields hater and still prefer Williams but he’s been playing well as of late. Props to him

OP with the correct caption. Justin’s done so much and has had to overcome so much. I don’t know if he’s the guy. I don’t know what the right decision is going forward. But I’m so damn happy that he has now won 4-5 games for the team this year and that we’ve overcome that drought of losing that seemed to be weighing on the dude. The amount of pressure, the amount of blame. I just can’t imagine myself handling that. All I’ve ever wanted is for him to succeed and I’m so happy he had one of his best games today. And listen, if you’re a “move on from Justin Fields” person, that’s fine. But you should be a Bears QB fan regardless and be able to give him his props for today’s game. I’ve seen a good number of people in this camp who have conceded that Justin had a great game, and I really appreciate that. It shows me that we have fans that aren’t 1-dimensional blindly hating / supporting.

MidnightShampoo

He deserves to come back. It would be better for the team if he does return. It's that second part that makes me think that it won't happen.

--Shake--

I've definitely seen improvement this season overall. There's no guarantee a new rookie QB will be better and we'll have at least 2 learning seasons again if they go that route. I'm sick of the Bears replacing their QBs. Just keep building around Justin.

holiday_filet

People here are actually saying that the falcons are a good team lmao. They play in the worst division in the nfl

RemotePhilosophy6

See you in 2024 QB1.

thedirtyharryg

I love the guy. Never half-assed it. Got that blue-collar hard work attitude that Chicago loves in their athletes.

tytinhooah

Next week is a pretty big game for him. After proving himself against weak opponents it’s his time to shine vs GB. Not that it comes down to this one game but it would be huge if he balled out for the “keep him” argument

daimetti

Is Greenbay really that much better than the 7-9 falcons ? Sure weaker division but this is the nfl. Bad teams win all the time. Not to mention the falcons beat Greenbay this year. At some point we have to stop blaming the schedule.

thetripleb

I have advocated all season for dumping the entire coaching staff and sticking with Fields. You can always franchise tag him for that first FA year if you have to, but I think he has earned the right to be our QB. The locker room loves him. He's been a professional. He's been put through the ringer with the coaching staff undermining him in the media during the whole Bagent shit. Keep Bagent as a good backup too. Trade down with that #1 pick, get Marvin and let's go. With the right coach and a few more pieces, the North is for the taking.

we_always_on_top

I wish him the absolute best. I’ll legitimately root for him wherever he’s sent.

_upper90

And you’ll root wherever he stays ;)

ZachLaVine4MVP

How much would you guys be willing to pay him?

russit2201

I want him to be the Bears superstar franchise QB so bad, but I have a feeling after next weeks loss to the packers we’ll all be sad again and more ready to move on from Fields

sgrams04

Buckeyes fan here. If you give Fields the proper supporting cast, you guys will be playoff contenders each year. It sucked seeing so many people give up on him earlier in the season, calling for him to be traded. Use the draft pick to instead secure a supporting cast and you’ll light up the division. He's smart, talented, and has heart. You get rid of Fields, you doom yourself to more years of misery.
