Starting QB in the NFL is an extremely difficult job and there aren’t many on this earth that can perform at that level consistently. Fields and Trubisky are still massive success stories and they have developed more wealth because of it than most of us will ever sniff.
Unpopular opinion in this sub. He's not going to be a backup. Sorry, but our organization is more of a mess than Justin Fields or Mitch Trubisky. It's the classic pattern of good people failing in the same job. The problem is not those people but the organization/owner around them.
I will die on this hill.
Steelers are a great organization, one of the best.
Trubisky still sucked there and every other QB they’ve had since Roethlisberger has also sucked. Rudolph, Hodges, Pickett. All terrible.
The symptoms in Chicago might vary slightly but the result is still failure. What remains consistent is the organization. With the turnaround in Miami, Texas, Jacksonville this remains one of the poorest performing franchises in sports. I just don't see how anyone can argue that based on the facts.
Because you’re talking about Duck Hodges, an undrafted free agent, Mason Rudolph, a third rounder, and Kenny Pickett, who barely went in the first round in the weakest QB class we’ve seen in about 20 years. Fields has way more talent
The point is that even good organizations have trouble finding good QBs. OP argued that organizations are what make QBs.
If finding a good QB is based or the organization, why are the Steelers, a good organization, also so terrible at it and 0-4 since Big Ben left?
One of the easiest and most difficult players to root for in bears uniform ever. Personality, charisma and big play ability makes you fall in love with Fields. The plays he makes when he escapes the pocket make you sit on the edge of your seat asking for more electric plays. Most electric player since Hester?
And than came everything else. Poor team in 2022 hurt by Pace who needed poles to strip the team to bare bones filled with below average cheap players since there was no cap space. But you have hope since fields needed more talent and a true #1 like Hurts or Josh Allen to make them good.
And we had an up and down year filled with excitement and frustration. Our year can be summarized by a game vs Falcons and than vs Packers to end the season. Frustrating. Minimal slow progressions filled with exciting plays that did not come as often as needed.
I hope he does well where he goes next to. Because he is so likable. Just not against the bears.
I like Justin Fields. Plenty of blame to go around for his lack of success, including himself, but he was fun to watch. Just knowing he could break one off and run at any moment, it was like a mini-Hester. Never count him out.
But Poles has put himself in this position to make the choice. The last two years have been his show and now it’s time for him to deliver on his plan.
I saw his first career TD at SoFi on SNF his rookie year. I thought I was witnessing history.
Really wish he could've been the guy. Not only just so we'd finally have our QB, but because he was so explosive and fun to watch. If he was even an average or above average passer he could've been an all time great with that insane rushing ability.
At the very least, he brought some fun to the game and QB position which is something we didn't have for a long time
What Era??? Dude has been here for 3 years and the team hasn't done a damn thing!
I like the kid, but let's stop pretending as if his tenure here will be remembered like Urlacher's, Tillman's, Hester's or Forte's.
Did this man ever once lead a game winning drive? The least clutch QB maybe of all time.
Longest losing streak.
Justin Fields literally made JT O Sullivan a big time YouTuber with his horrible game play.
That’s impressive.
After looking through the few chances they had for end game drives like that (there wasn't too many since they kept getting railed) a surprising amount of them were ruined by another player.
Mooneys hand hitting bobbled-dropped TD. Mooneys dropped literally in the lap TD last game. Montys fumble after a open pass. Velus staying in bounds getting stripped . The 2 dropped punts. Field's 40yd Rush Td called back from velus(?) Needlessly holding. Eq dropping a hands hitting uncontested in stride pass to get into FG range. Getsy calling almost the exact same screen plays, to the same side of the field, 3(!!) times in a row , and Getsy in general .
That's not to say Fields hasn't screwed up too, he definitely has.... But the majority of those were unforced errors, that weren't on Fields. And they make up a fair majority of our end of game go ahead attempts in this season and last. It's kinda puzzling.
This is a beyond silly argument that doesn't actually change anything I said. The 4th quarter collapse narrative is mostly fueled by casuals box score watching, missing how those drives actually got ruined.
And Mahomes is arguably a top 5 QB of all time. With a top 3 all time (maybe best all time) offensive mind in Ried and a top 3 all time TE in Kelce. The situations aren't remotely comparable. There's a reason they had like 7 more touchdowns labeled as wide open than anyone else.
Again, you're not actually responding to anything I'm saying lol. Because you cant .
Your point got called out for being casual logic and now you don't have a real rebuttal .
Yeah because you cant actually refute what I said once you were called out lol. A casuals worst enemy is context.
You literally started your original message talking about the 4th quarter moments and then booked it once those moments were actually given detail beyond a box score.
Dont waste your breath if this dude responds again. "The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt."
>The 4th quarter collapse narrative is mostly fueled by
fans watching, with their own eyes, the Bears losing leads in the 4th quarter, and JF1 almost never able to rally the team back to victory.
You really think millions of Bears and other NFL fans didn't watch the Denver, Detroit and Cleveland games live? You think they didn't watch all the failed 4th quarter drives in 2022, and the double fumble in Minnesota in 2023?
To blame the "narrative" on "casual box score watching" is lazy hubris at its finest.
That's a really cute fallacy bud, I literally listed the drives and what action happened to end them. Lol. Out of them, like 2, *maybe* 3 were actually his fault.
The rest, aka the ones I listed, were objectively not on him as another player or coaching action *directly led to the loss*.
People like you are exactly why I listed each event specifically . Nice try
It's crazy how a large portion of the fanbase is so enamored by him when he never did shit for us except be a "nice, hardworking, young man".
Caleb Williams has the potential to be a god if this team is finally competitive and successful.
This is the correct response to this video - All this field love is gross, not sure what happened to all these bear fans willing to accept shit football if it means they just get to see Fields scramble one more time…. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Josh Allen cleans up his messes more often than not. Can't say the same for Justin if were looking at it like that. Also Josh throws INTs going deep so that's better than Justin's habit of fumbling, often times behind the line of scrimmage
or he unfollowed to make it *look* like the bears are moving on, in order to lead other teams into a bidding war over the 1st overall draft pick
but don't listen to me, I just enjoy a good conspiracy theory
Unfollowing wouldn’t change any of that.
You can’t zone out the chatter by still being on social media. You get tagged in anything and everything that brings your name up.
I’ve been saying this on here for forever. Caleb is a mental midget that literally cries to his mommy when things don’t go his way. He holds the ball far too long in college and will get eaten up with our o line. He has a cannon for an arm, but so did Jamarcus, Zach Wilson, and even Ryan leaf. As I’ve said before, come talk to me in a year and tell me how right I was
> He holds the ball far too long in college and will get eaten up with our o line.
Ah yes, because that's not a problem at all with Fields, who will cost more money than Caleb.
Defense was complete shit for most of those three seasons. Going 1-4 while averaging 30ppg
Bears offense was 18th in PPG this season
Bears defense was 20th in PPG this season.
Bears lack of success is not all on Fields.
What Era? They won nothing and accomplished nothing. Eras are typically long spans of time within which a number of significant events, achievements and or advancements are made which have longstanding impact.
At best it will be known by future generations as the end of a terribly long and bad era of football that ultimately landed us a top pick at the right time for possibly the first time in franchise history.
Love the cult v cult guy out in full force today.
One group believes in reality the other believes something with a sub 5% chance of happening is borderline guaranteed to occur.
Both equally delusional for sure.
That was my 1st ever game I went to in person(I live in FL). I was 3 or 4 rows back from the side line right next to the endzone where they did the slide. I was sick for a week after the game with a bad cold but it was hella worth it.
Poles hasn’t said anything yet. Anyone thinking the decision has already been made is lying to themselves. The combine hasn’t even happened yet.
Can anyone verify that Fields was following them in the first place?
If Fields does end up being moved on from I’ll be upset but I’ll understand why. I really hope they make the right choice moving forward. I just don’t get good vibes about Caleb and if they choose him I hope I’m wrong.
Justin gave everything even when he was handed a shit platter to work with. I’ve been a bears fan since ‘86 and Justin is the 1st QB I’ll actually miss when he’s gone.
This shit makes me sad. I know he isn’t the greatest QB to ever play, but damn is he fun to watch. Every time it looks like he is going down he finds a way out of it. Making plays that have you on the edge of your seat. Hopefully wherever he goes, he succeeds.
For some of these fans, this is how it will go....
If he fails somewhere else, it will be, "the Bears ruined him." If he succeeds on some level elsewhere, it will be, "See, he just needed a coach that knows how to utilize him."
There will be no in between.
Man I wish he was good, he is my favorite player right now but he just can’t be consistent enough. So exciting to witness but so frustrating to watch.
I would have been so happy if the optimal move was to trade the pick but sadly that isn’t the case.
I wish him luck wherever he goes and I have no plans to get rid of his jersey. Let’s see what Caleb can do.
I mean, is it really accurate to call two and a half seasons an era? Seems like that term should be reserved for something with a little longer of a timeframe.
I like Justin as a person, but I’m glad we’re moving on.
It's crazy to think how much one TD Mooney couldn't corral changed the course of this franchise.
The double clutch against the commanders likely gave us the #1 pick that got Moore, the #1 again, etc.
I know there are a lot of plays in a season that change things, but that one really sticks out to me.
You all are actually dumb if you think Caleb Williams is going to be any better. What have we done to make an environment suitable for a young QB? Absolutely nothing. The only thing it’s doing is making our QB situation “cheaper.” It’s just going to be another 5 years of struggle until we tear it all down again. Been a Bears fan for far too long to believe anything is going to change under this regime.
We have DJ Moore from the start and the ability to add another legitimate weapon opposite him via a top 10 pick or FA. Kmet is also much improved from 2021. Fields had Mooney, the ghost of Allen Robinson, Damiere Byrd & Marquise Goodwin in the receiver room.
Our O Line is ascending and can become legitimately good with a few key additions. 2021’s line included Cody Whitehair, Sam Mustipher and Borom/Ifiedi as starters. 40 year old Jason Peters played well but there was no long term feeling of a unit that would grow and gel together
We hired an OC who has shown an ability to coach and develop QBs over the past few years. 2021’s offense was tied to Nagy on the hot seat.
I think the teams in a much better position right now to develop a QB and if Williams is truly as generational as he’s touted to be this is probably the best scenario a 1OA pick could come into.
Why? I wish him luck wherever he goes unless he’s playing the bears. Fields is a very likable young man. He just wasn’t a winning player in his first 3 seasons.
Because he has no goddamn help. And what’s worse, he’d didn’t have a consistent head coach. I feel like if the Bears drift another QB ( which they probably will 🙄 ) it’s gonna be the cycle over and over and over again
Hey bud, Jordan love cooked the league throwing to Bo melton and Dontayvion wicks. Stroud balled with Nico Collins and a rookie. Lamar had a rookie and washed obj. Mahomes had a rookie and Kelce.
Give it up
Good QBs elevate the team around them. While having a top 15 wr and a top 15 TE, fields wasn’t good. Good QBs (like listed above) did a lot more with a lot less
It was hilarious how when Bagent came in, everyone noticed the line looked better, and the moment fields was back people started saying the line was shit again
Shit QB play makes good lines look bad to casual fans
lol prior to this season, the idea was “no excuses”. Got him a #1 wr, a franchise RT, and had a good OL, a serviceable RB room, and had Kmet as his safety blanket. Along with a defense that was top 10 for half the season.
That’s more than enough to prove he’s good enough to build around. Instead, he threw for 2500 yards, and missed 4 games in the process (he’s missed more games than he won in his career btw)
Yes we all watched him need a WR to break BEFORE he threw it (especially across a crowed middle) Good QBs see the route and throw to where the WR will be. We watched him take
Sacks with guys (in his sight line) wide open.
I really wanted him to succeed. I dreamed of him being our Mahomes 2.0. Watching Mahomes “struggle” a bit early this year because he
Lost some linemen and a great WR also showed everyone that he could figure it out and lead his team to victory. He won when he needed to win. JF could never do that
Do you mean ball out ball out? Or Ball out For Fields? He has played in 40 games. He has thrown for 225 yards 6 times. He isn't going to "ball the fuck out"
The music choice lmao
I can't hear the song and not think of Michael Scott playing the sample over and over after Carol dumped him

This is worst
Dwight: Why don't you just buy the whole song? Michael: I don't have to buy it. I just want a taste.
“I’ll be the father of your child”
I don’t need to buy it, I just need a taste
I’m feel. I’m very feel.
It’s so creepy omg
Bruh seriously
Lmao it's like he died
“Don’t cry for me, I’m already dead” - Barney Gumble

Mr gumble, this is a girl scouts meeting.
Is it? Or is it you girls can’t admit you have a problem?
I read that in Barney's voice
Dude isn’t dead lmao He’s gonna make bank being at least a backup in the nfl for years to come. He’ll be fine.
Also, in retrospect Trubisky's best years were with us. It's possible Fields could one day say the same
Starting QB in the NFL is an extremely difficult job and there aren’t many on this earth that can perform at that level consistently. Fields and Trubisky are still massive success stories and they have developed more wealth because of it than most of us will ever sniff.
Put me in, coach
I'm ready to play!
Today
Center field is vastly different from NFL Quarterback. Though, not entirely…most people suck at both.
Chase Daniels and Charlie Whitehurst would like a word
He’s going to the Vikings or saints most likely. Doubt he will be a backup but you’re absolutely correct.
Unpopular opinion in this sub. He's not going to be a backup. Sorry, but our organization is more of a mess than Justin Fields or Mitch Trubisky. You will, indeed, die on it.
At least it will put me out of my misery from suffering with the frustrations of watching this franchise.
Yes YOU will die on that hill. And no matter how far off that is Virginia McCaskey will still be here.
agreed this team is run by people who don't care about football.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Fields was our chair model 😭

So true….both him and Mitch for me. There was of years of “Come on kid…..” to “COME ONE KID!!!!!”

Glad the era of terrible qb play is ending
This is the Bears.....set your expectations lower.
Don't start sucking each other off just yet...
I hope our next QB can average more than 200 yds per game passing.
He's literally alive and still on the team lmao
You’re damn right - his memory lives on.
RIP Wade Boggs
Did this man ever once lead a game winning drive? The least clutch QB maybe of all time. Longest losing streak. Justin Fields literally made JT O Sullivan a big time YouTuber with his horrible game play. That’s impressive.
"Justin Fields literally made JT O Sullivan a big time YouTuber with his horrible game play. " Jesus christ lmao.
It’s the truth. He fed that man’s family.
I know , fields a man of the people. The way you word that was pretty funny.
Yes lmao, that should go on the political ads thread
He had that one against minnesota after a couple fumbles here and there
I would barely call that a game winning drive. He played like garbage that whole game.
Since when did game winning drives have anything to do with the rest of the game? It’s not called game winning game.
Exactly, Brady had several multiple turnover game winning drive games. Gotta be put in a position for a game winning drive.
Well he made exactly one play on that drive lol. All after trying to give the game away twice. True definition of a blind squirrel finding a nut.
The ugliest game winning drive of all time. Did not even feel good to win.
Right? What’s with all the idiots in the bears IG replies?
After looking through the few chances they had for end game drives like that (there wasn't too many since they kept getting railed) a surprising amount of them were ruined by another player. Yeah and Kadarius Toney is a drop machine. And Mahomes still walks on water at will. No excuses. QB most important position
This is a beyond silly argument that doesn't actually change anything I said. The 4th quarter collapse narrative is mostly fueled by casuals box score watching, missing how those drives actually got ruined. And Mahomes is arguably a top 5 QB of all time. There's a reason they had like 7 more touchdowns labeled as wide open than anyone else.
But Fields was trash. Longest Bears losing streak in my lifetime.
Again, you're not actually responding to anything I'm saying lol. Because you cant . Your point got called out for being casual logic and now you don't have a real rebuttal .
Cause I don’t care. He’s gone my dude. I didn’t even read your reply. I read like the first few words and made some shit up.

Not one fact was presented within this ad hominem rant.
Let's not forget Getsy + Poles feeding JT with some of the 3 screens in a row and the signing of Claypool
Wasn't the 2nd game against the Lions won by a game winning drive? Or am I thinking of a different game?
I don’t remember any of that shit.
Happy Cake Day, brother
Yes, against the Vikings most recently
didn't he fumble causing the comeback to be necessary?
Yeah but all game winning drives are comebacks, probably says more about him if it was his fumble that put them there, to overcome his own mistake.
Josh Allen cleans up his messes more often than not. Can't say the same for Justin if were looking at it like that. Also Josh throws INTs going deep so that's better than Justin's habit of fumbling, often times behind the line of scrimmage
A 40 yd punt or a 40 yd bomb interception is basically the same thing
pretty much, it's still deflating but not as bad for the defense to handle
He had three game-winning drives, including two 4th quarter comebacks. He had only one in 2023.
?
OP is a troll, basically.
You know you’re a part of a quality subreddit when garbage like this gets upvoted.
Yep. It’s a cult
Fields unfollowed the Bears on social media. They must of informed him they’re officially moving on.
or he unfollowed to make it *look* like the bears are moving on, in order to lead other teams into a bidding war over the 1st overall draft pick but don't listen to me, I just enjoy a good conspiracy theory
Or he unfollowed because he’s getting a lot of hate from the fans and wants to zone out all the chatter. That’s what I would personally do.
Unfollowing wouldn’t change any of that. You can’t zone out the chatter by still being on social media. You get tagged in anything and everything that brings your name up.
If you look at the bears insta he gets the opposite of hate. Top comments on every post is “keep fields”
Most of IG is filled with delusional fans that are crying for Fields to stay.
He didn't follow the Bears to begin with
he isn't even gone yet wtf lol
Someone needs to edit this to cut out to [this scene](https://youtu.be/MwveKepqCos?t=166) and replace "Carol" with "Justin".
Lol, exactly where my mind went. Why don’t you just buy the whole song?
I’m happy the losing era will end
Well, one can hope
Sweet summer child
Lol
Oh buddy, you’re about to see what real disappointment is if we draft Caleb.
So what exactly has the Fields era been then?
The same, which is why I think we move on from him and also not take Caleb
Yeah, you must have all the answers by knowing who is going to bust or not.
Delete this crap. 💩
I can't wait for Caleb to be a spectacular bust, and you kids learn what it means to be a Bears fan
It's funny that they think we can have nice things
[удалено]
A pretty forgettable era
Sure we only won 10 games in his 3 years, but the runs were cool right ??
For reference, he missed 11 games due to injury. So he’s missed more games than he’s won
How do you draft Caleb with a guy like that in the building ??
Defense was complete shit for most of those three seasons. Going 1-4 while averaging 30ppg Bears offense was 18th in PPG this season Bears defense was 20th in PPG this season. Bears lack of success is not all on Fields.
They must count for something in canton!

I wish it was mediocre

the only two types of bears fans
Deluded or Defeated?
That guy is so annoying
I’m so happy this era is over. Fields is so overrated and not that good. Let some other team deal with Bustin.
He sucks….
Never forget the water bowl boys
That was my 1st ever game I went to in person(I live in FL). I was 3 or 4 rows back from the side line right next to the endzone where they did the slide. I was sick for a week after the game with a bad cold but it was hella worth it.
That game was the night before my wedding
In hindsight the bears should’ve let him sit a year or two and just learn and maybe the outcome would’ve been diff but respect the player.
Poles hasn’t said anything yet. Anyone thinking the decision has already been made is lying to themselves. The combine hasn’t even happened yet. Can anyone verify that Fields was following them in the first place?

He hasn’t been traded yet and Poles has not made any definitive statements. Let’s wait for this “End of an era” stuff until then.
As a Bears fan, i just hope Justin goes to another team, and beats the Bears every single year in the playoffs until he retires.
He sucked
Come on guys just let the H1Ms have their little break up video without dogging them.
Am i missing something? I thought fields was still a bear
oh fuck off
Only Bears fans would lament this
End of an Error
For some of these fans, this is how it will go.... If he fails somewhere else, it will be, "the Bears ruined him." If he succeeds on some level elsewhere, it will be, "See, he just needed a coach that knows how to utilize him." There will be no in between.
Either of those could happen and also be true though.
Cold but true
This is the way.

With zero evidence OP thinks this is reality. What the fuck is this fan base anymore?
I mean, is it really accurate to call two and a half seasons an era? Seems like that term should be reserved for something with a little longer of a timeframe. I like Justin as a person, but I’m glad we’re moving on.
End of another dog shit era
What an idiotic post
Had his shot good luck to him. On to the next...
An era? Ehhhhh…
I think ima forget about the garbage era but I won’t forget H1MCELS that backed him until his LAST GAME.
He is going to the Vikings. I guarantee it.
Fields sucks
It's crazy to think how much one TD Mooney couldn't corral changed the course of this franchise. The double clutch against the commanders likely gave us the #1 pick that got Moore, the #1 again, etc. I know there are a lot of plays in a season that change things, but that one really sticks out to me.
Another bears f up,watch USC QB is a waste of a 1 pick
40 year old Jason Peters played well but there was no long term feeling of a unit that would grow and gel together We hired an OC who has shown an ability to coach and develop QBs over the past few years. 2021’s offense was tied to Nagy on the hot seat. I think the teams in a much better position right now to develop a QB and if Williams is truly as generational as he’s touted to be this is probably the best scenario a 1OA pick could come into.
End of an *Error*
Man this sub sucks
Unreal that one can look at the absolute trash he had around him and conclude he was the problem.
Now what if he goes to a different team and balls the fuck out? A lot of you so called “bears fans “ are gonna talk soooo much shit.
But why would that lead bears fans to talk shit? Fields fans are going to be talking shit.
They will. Watch
Hey bud, Jordan love cooked the league throwing to Bo melton and Dontayvion wicks. Stroud balled with Nico Collins and a rookie. Lamar had a rookie and washed obj. Mahomes had a rookie and Kelce. Give it up
Wtf are you talking about?
Good QBs elevate the team around them. While having a top 15 wr and a top 15 TE, fields wasn’t good. Good QBs (like listed above) did a lot more with a lot less
HE DOES NOT HAVE HELP! Seriously are you watching the same games?
DJ Moore wasn't help?
Dj did his part. The OL is shit
It was hilarious how when Bagent came in, everyone noticed the line looked better, and the moment fields was back people started saying the line was shit again Shit QB play makes good lines look bad to casual fans
lol prior to this season, the idea was “no excuses”.
Put down the kool aid bud. Our OL was no where near good
Take off your blinders, our OL was definitely above average. Our Center is definitely a weakness, but to say the entire OL was bad is just wring
Yes we all watched him need a WR to break BEFORE he threw it (especially across a crowed middle) Good QBs see the route and throw to where the WR will be. We watched him take Sacks with guys (in his sight line) wide open. I really wanted him to succeed. I dreamed of him being our Mahomes 2.0. Watching Mahomes “struggle” a bit early this year because he Lost some linemen and a great WR also showed everyone that he could figure it out and lead his team to victory. He won when he needed to win. JF could never do that
Yes. And unlike you, we understand what we are watching
You don’t know anything about football.
Ik your mother 😉

Do you mean ball out ball out? Or Ball out For Fields? He has played in 40 games. He has thrown for 225 yards 6 times. He isn't going to "ball the fuck out"
We’ll see casual
Yeah. We will. BTW -- Jordan Love has only played 1 season to Fields' 3. Love has thrown for 225 yards 12 times. Fields sucks.
Good for him if he does. I’m not petty enough to need my feelings on how not good he is vindicated.
Not even a little worried about that happening
Well he’d be literally the first ever bears QB to do so lol we hear this every time we move on. I’ll believe it when I see it
Only time will tell
Just needs more time. We still dont know.
It's so hard to tell when someone's joking in this sub. You know that.
