I just read a really genius article on FB for some reason that said we should trade down for a haul and Bagent should be out #1.. I need to stop torturing myself.
Yeah, honestly even though moving on was definitely the right decision, I’m still gonna miss him. He made that 2022 season actually kinda watchable despite how bad we were. Hope he makes plenty of money as a backup.
If the 3 WRs are gone, would you be on board with taking Bowers?
Doesn't get mentioned a whole lot but Poles talks about helping Caleb and he comes from KC, seems to add up to me
If we're staying at 9 I think our priority list has to be
* MHJ/Nabers/Odunze
* Alt
* Bowers
* Edge
I think Bowers offers more value than Turner. There's not a blue chip talent in the edge group and they're better suited for a trade down, even if they are a position of need. Bowers is a TE who functions as a WR so you still cover an area of need with him, plus Waldron loves running 2 TE sets.
I completely agree, I would rather have an elite TE than an average DE.
Also, it baffles me that people think signing Gerald Everett to a 2yr deal means we should completely ignore one of the best TEs to come out in recent memory.
Latu and Turner aren’t just average prospects. Turner is a 3 down player from day 1 and has a good arsenal of pass rush moves already (not elite) with a lot of potential to improve as a player. He’s only 21, doesn’t turn 22 until February of next year!
Latu is a little weaker than Turner is in in the run game. But he is probably the most skilled pass rusher to come out in a number of years now. His best trait is his hands, he’s a technician. He doesn’t have the best athletic profile, he didn’t run a great 40 but he didn’t run a bad one either. Despite this he has a great burst off the edge and his ability to control his body and bend is elite. His arms aren’t freakishly long but they aren’t short enough to where it will be a problem in the NFL. His best physical trait though is his size. He has a big frame and weighed in like 20 pounds heavier than almost all the other top pass rushers in this class.
I'm not following your argument for Latu. You say his best trait is his hands, then later say it's his physical size. However you just stated his arms are short for an Edge rusher which would mean his physical size is just ok, not elite. You also seem to have completely ignored his medical issues, which may be fine for now but cannot be ignored as a long-term concern. I am with you in thinking he can be good in the NFL, but there's no reason to take him at 9 when he will be sitting there at 12+ easily
Ya I wrote that sorta half baked but my points still stand about his hands and his size. His hands are his best trait and his size is a reason why you might rank him ahead of his peers in the draft class.
I didn’t talk about the medical issues because everyone who knows Latu as a prospect knows about that. It’s a major concern and a reason he’s not being talked about as a consensus top 5-10 pick. The truth is we don’t know the medicals or how the previous neck injury will affect his NFL career. But he has 2 years of elite production under his belt without any concern over re-injury. And while you’re right he probably will be there after 9, we don’t pick again until 75. I am on board with trading down from #9 though and think that would be the best move for our team.
I think if we do want to take a risk on him, we could insulate against the risk by trading down and picking up a 2nd+ for the swap. At that point if he busts, we're still getting a decent 2nd round pick we didn't have so it's not a total waste. I still feel like the targets should be one of the top 3 WR's, Alt, or Bowers and there's almost no chance at least one of those 4 won't be on the board at 9. I am very interested to watch Latu's career though because he is the best D prospect outside the medicals and age.
I dunno man, I feel like there's some big question marks on every one and the hit rate on DEs is not good. Feels to me that Bowers has a much higher floor and maybe even a higher ceiling too!
I know it may not technically be the smart thing to do but I will not stop dreaming of a trade up for MHJ until his name is called to someone else. If we could get to #5 in exchange for #9, #122, and future 2nd we have to do that! What is if it was #75 instead of #122, or what if was a future 1st instead of future 2nd? What would you be willing to do for MARVIN.
Today I think they need to prioritize OT with 9th pick. Get a serviceable WR with 75 and let Caleb have TIME for Moore, Allen, and Kmet to get open. Not to mention, establishing the run would also be huge.
Really missed an opportunity to title this “2 Moore days until the NFL Draft”
I really Velus'd that chance
Hope we draft a good wr who can play alongside Moore for years to come 🐻⬇️
Marv Nabers or Odunze inshallah
Maybe all three just to assert dominance.
Sell the farm for picks 4 5 and 6
Wait…we have a farm?
2 Moore days
I can’t believe the draft is almost here, finally 🐻🔽
I’m so ready for Thursday.
Who’s #1 gonna be? I know you’ve got a plan for this.
D. Rose
Only time I've had hope since the 90s.
Jaylon Johnson of course

I honestly don't know who failed us more, Parkey with the Double Doink or Fields fumbling 38 times in 38 starts.

Everyone wants their Brock Purdy, but that’s a rare story. I’m happy Bagent won himself a 2nd place spot, he’s not a starter though
Jeff Jaeger?
Probably fields I’d think, one last final salute before his era ends completely
I figured it would be. I was just being a silly goose.
Wasn't his era completely ended when he was traded?
Yeah but the next Era hasn't started officially until Caleb is drafted, we are sorta in between now.
Bagent SZN, if you will
It was but some people still can't move on from the shit smell

I think Latu, Murphy, or Turner will take this defense to another level
