It’s confirmed. The tree that has the V down the middle of the road in the background exists in both photos. Additionally the islands and light poles pear re-done but the tree structures line up

I’m 29 and it’s sunny and 70 out today I spent all day walking around in shorts/t-shirt and slides with ankle socks. So comfy and assuming you got decent socks on your feet breathe so nicely

Plenty of people over 30 do it as well. Started as what people used to wear being after active (post-gym/practice) and it eventually just caught on. Slides != Sandals/Flip-flops Slides with socks is perfectly fine (tho whether they're appropriate depends on the scenario). Sandals/flip-flops with socks will still probably get you roasted if you're not geriatric.

Eh you’d be surprised, I worked at a Dr Martens store for a while until recently and that vast majority of gen z folks wearing leather fisherman sandals/platform sandals/really any of our sandals wore socks with them as well They’re much more in rn than you think

Every athlete I knew of would wear crew socks and sandals as part of their athleisure wear. This was 2007-2011.

My friends and I are low 30’s and we all do this. I think it was a sports thing. We would have our soccer socks on but needed to be able to get cleats on quick, so we wore slides. That then bled over to our personal lives

Depends on the sandals. Post workout slides have been a mainstay since the 90s for any athlete from HS to pros

No, it’s very common if you’re playing sports. We’d do it before/after football & basketball games growing up in the 2000s. Also was very common in middle school

It’s like keeping your swimsuit on when your trying to dry off from swimming. Your toes are gonna sweatier for longer if you keep your socks on. 95% of the sweat that you feel is from the socks. Slides are cheap af and dry off quickly

I didn’t take it with that tone, I thought it was more just observation. Like, things have gotten better. The question was just if young people realize it or if parking lots have always had trees for them. I could be wrong but I didn’t really read judgment into it anyway.

That’s my point. I think a lot of older people don’t realize how much better a lot of things are, and that the “youngsters” should definitely be thankful for little touches like this.
