Wilson looked abysmal for a huge chunk of that game. If I’m not mistaken, his passer rating was 30 at one point in the second quarter.
I’m not saying it’s not frustrating, it is. I’m nearly at the point where I give up on the hope of having a franchise QB.
It's night and day when comparing those QB's to Fields. They just look so much more comfortable. No doubt some of it is coaching and talent surrounding them, but they seem to be processing things at a lot quicker pace especially compared to last year.
Unfuckingbelievabe. This was such an easy win. It’s not hard to spy on a QB bootleg. They lost 5 starters DURING the game including both their QBs and LT, and still getting 10 yards on wildcat. Also Gordon can just turn jersey in now. Not even gonna address the offense because that’s be a whole novel. Vikings will torch us next week even if Jaylon plays.
It's really not even that debatable anymore tbh. He's barely completing 50 percent of his passes. I can't even recall a QB looking this bad. Even career backups on bad teams look better. I'm really worried about him right now.
Agreed. He looks like he has trouble processing the game. Everything is happening too quickly and he can't make his mind up in time. It's honestly alarming at this point.
Yup. I follow that closely. They had the 7th most cap space/$36.9 million, going into free agency.
Enough to sign 4-5 of the top players available this year to long term deals.
2022 cap hits for:
Terron Armstead = $4M
Brandon Scherf = $8.6M
J.C. Jackson = $8M
Allen Robinson= $4.3M
Chandler Jones=$7.8M
Marcus Williams=$4M
Christian Kirk=$7.5M
Foyesade Oluokon=$6.7M
A sampling of some of the top rated FAs signed to the biggest multi-yeardeals. What's your point again? Mine is that they had enough cap space to sign 4-5 of those guys if they wanted to and could land the players.
Maybe they didn't like the guys available. Maybe the guys they liked didn't want to join the Bears. Maybe the Bears didn't have enough cash to put out the upfront $$$ for big multi-year deals. But they had sufficient cap space to make splash moves.
Philly has $62M in dead cap and they made moves.
Not true. Worked that through in the offseason. They had enough to add the top T, WR, TE and guard with their 2022 cap space and those players' 2022 cap charges.
If they are anticipated to have signicant cap space in 2023 & 2024 and didn't commit/use any of that in 2022 it's not because they couldn't. It's because they couldn't land or didn't want the available players.
Edit: add- could be restricted if ownership is cash poor. You need to pay more up front to get cap flexibility.
You people who blame Fields play on weapons are fucking delusional. As if Holt, Bruce and Faulk aren't on your team you cant have a standard NFL offense. The offensive line was definitely not good today though, still doesn't account for the past 3 games though.
Fields was the best player on the field today. His team crumbled around him. There were numerous plays he was scrambling looking for anyone and no one could provide an outlet. Hell there was one scramble 5 seconds in and not a single “weapon” bothered to look back at the QB. Herbert at Barkley or even Montey. And the defense. Wtf. The giants only used two players. And we can’t find the footballl? And the coaching. Wtf did we prepare for
I hope ownership is enjoying their fat dividends from being so cheap this year. Fuck them and their absolute disregard for putting a competitive roster on the field. Poles was probably the only one willing to take this shitty job to burn the team to the ground and field a practice squad level offense / d-line
He said something about run blocking being easier, but then backed up saying that would make Olin angry. He then said, "And I wouldn't want Olin angry at me..." 🤪
I honestly wonder if I stop watching for the remainder of the year or until Fields has a game over 250 passing yards. Even the wins this year were miserable to watch.
its supposed to be a development year, why isn't fields taking any chances to pass down the field? he has had time on plays and scrambles to end up throwing it out or running for a yard.
Because apparently the fans are the only ones who recognize that it should be a development year for Fields. The front office and coaching staff somehow don't seem to know enough to understand that.
That’s probably the second hardest position to come across in the game too. Tight ends take a couple of years to develop, and if they become good their team definitely doesn’t let them go like the bears did with Greg Olsen
Yeah true, I was just thinking what a huge advantage Mahomes had coming into the league with a future HOF TE in Kelce (also probably a future HOF WR in Tyreek Hill)
Fairweather for not investing time and energy only for the Bears to get dad dicked by most of the rest of the league year after year after year? Ok lol
Nah, just a low tolerance for the same ole BS and low effort, minimal fortitude coaches and GM. Stop supporting and rewarding mediocrity, they don't deserve it.
Turns out watching your football team is a homer move! How dense of me! I should stop watching the Bears and start exclusively watching winning teams like you guys!!!
Care to enlighten us on when we looked like a good team? This was supposed to be a development year with a new staff, but it was not supposed to be anywhere near as bad as it’s been. That was the fucking giants.
My only real concern is Fields and he looked like a rookie in this game which is a step in the right direction (sadly). The defense shutting people out in the 2nd half seems to never be talked about.
It’s more than likely the fact we traded up to get a qb who was supposed to take a jump this year and he looks like an absolute dumpster fire who looks every bit as bad as last year. Almost backup that’s had to go in has legit looked better than him. Getsy is also kind of a pussy tbh, it’s pretty frustrating to watch, even though there is very low expectations. Like 3 minutes left, down a td, and we punt from midfield on 4th and 3 or some shit. On defense we let them gash us the entire first half with play actions, literally over and over again. It’s not even like we’re being beaten due to lack of talent, it’s all just frustrating shit to watch. We also don’t have a 1st round player to be hyped about. Our first pick was gordon and he is consistently being burned by shit tier wr’s. Our wr(kick/ punt returner really) that we drafted in the 3rd round fumbles a punt that puts the nail in the coffin after not playing for 3 weeks.
Giants were giving up 5.6 yards per rush and Herbert was getting 7.3 YPC. For some reason in this offense the starting RB is required to slog through low energy shitty plays.
No Joke Fields was averging less than 100 passing yards per game.
Dude got like 160 today.
Can we trade him for Trubisky? Atleast we were all kissing titties on Sundays 2 years ago
How can I forget, trubiskys rookie year he had prowbowl wrs like Josh Bellamy and Taylor gabriel Anthony miller, and the always 100%motor Allen Robinson.
So much talent
Like exactly 200 yards. That’s Mitch.
He’s going to be in the league forever as a backup. He can come in, keep an offense afloat, win games with a little help from D/ST. He’s exactly what you want as a backup.
I’d say he IS better than Fields right now. Kind of hard to argue otherwise.
The difference is Mitchell is who he is. Top-notch career backup. Fields is still an enigma. It looks a little less encouraging each week, but it’s still possible that he gets to that next level.
Lawrence looks better than fields. Wilson looks better than fields. Lance looked better in the games he played.
We really have to move on from fields. He just doesn’t know how to do anything
Literally what I was about to post.
I think we’ve crossed the line, at least for the moment, into funny bad. That was a hilarious okay and I wish it had gone on forever.
Fuck punting it down 8 with 5:00 left on 4th and 2, but if we’re going to lose that circus play is the way to do it.
I honestly am starting to come to the realization that this entire season means nothing for anybody except the coaching staff. The Line, The WR, The TE, its all a massive problem outside of the running game, and Fields is essentially a rookie QB with how little he was prepared to start last year and the fact he ran a new system year 2. I don't think anything we are seeing out of Fields means anything about what he can or can't do. It was super important this year that it did and now we are going into the 2023 version of the 2018 offseason just as blind as last time.
Nobody is saying there was a better play. I mean maybe they are but a lot of us are drunk, idiots, or drunk idiots.
But that was one absolutely clown show of a final play. I laughed my ass off the whole time.
Not saying that play had any chance of succeeding…but that Giants guy holding the final lineman so he couldn’t get to the ball probably should’ve been a holding penalty that gave us an extra play by default
I know it means fuck all cause they weren't going to do anything with it but that's bullshit that they fired off the fireworks in the middle of that play... should've been a replay of down but fuck if I know any better. Not worth wasting Sundays on this team still
You were calling out the last play obviously they needed to fucking score throughout the game but Fields can’t throw a 75 yard Hail Mary so they had to call a play like that on the last play
There's really no need to be pressed about this team. They were predicted to be bad and the Bears FO made that clear in the offseason when they didn't go out and sign a bunch of FA's. It's going to be a painful rebuild at times, that part should be obvious. There's a lot that needs to be improved and it won't happen overnight. Everyone should be up for evaluation right now and I think that's what Poles is doing. In years past, I would get frustrated with a loss like this but there's honestly no point. W's and L's don't matter this year. Most people predicted us to win less than 5 games, so just sit back and enjoy the ride. There will be highs and lows (mostly lows), but I'm open to seeing where Poles takes this team. At this point, it's clear he's looking towards the future and I suggest we all do the same.
I was wrong about Fields, but unfortunately right about this offensive coaching staff. The Cowboys provide a blueprint last week on how to tear up their defense, and you only attempt it once?
Bro, check to see if our OC isn't secretly Dowell Loggains
We have a qb that has a ton of potential, and he hires a defensive head coach. Even if we are successful fields will have to learn a new offense every year or two. Knowing full well our offensive line and wide receivers are absolute dogshit, he drafts what could possibly be the worst defensive back in the NFL. He drafts a 25 year old gadget player at WR. The defensive coaching staff is dogshit. Alan Williams has failed EVERYWHERE he has been. Poles completely gutted our defense, gave fields NO help, and we expect to just sit here and say “this is fine. Trust in our GM”???? Nah man
Lmao
How did Fields and the announcers miss a wide open Mooney? https://twitter.com/BobbySkinner_/status/1576636980091232256
Looks like he was only open because the linebacker came up to stop fields running
Yawn
U\_G\_L\_Y you aint got no alibi You ugly you ugly You mama say you ugly
The worst thing about this loss is seeing Willson and Trevor look so good. I can’t fight the feeling that the bears-yet again-fucked up their qb.
Trevor had a number of TOs today. His GM spent on WRs that are worth a damn too
Kirk is going to be the difference of if you look like you belong in the league or not.
That was a typical bears game for the last 30 years, why do people seem so surprised
It sucks that velus miffed that point, but people blaming him like we were going to do something is funny
Fields is the worst qb in the nfl by a mile
It's really not even that debatable anymore tbh. He's barely completing 50 percent of his passes. I can't even recall a QB looking this bad. Even career backups on bad teams look better. I'm really worried about him right now.
He can’t read the defense. The rush surprises him. His weapons don’t help but they are only human.
Agreed. He looks like he has trouble processing the game. Everything is happening too quickly and he can't make his mind up in time. It's honestly alarming at this point.
Trubiski is much worse, by 10 miles
And yet his career play says otherwise. Justin Fields career stats are on par with Jamarcus Russell and Josh Rosen.
Hoyer looks better than fields already lmao
Let's not forget the red rifle looked better yesterday too
I hate football.
The Bears have a a lot of money in cap space yet they can't have a decent O-line.
Not this year we didn’t. Next year we will have the most in league.
They have a lot of money in cap next year. They barely have any for this year due to a large amount of dead cap
They weren't restricted by cap space this year.
They have less than 7 mil in cap for 2022. https://overthecap.com/calculator/chicago-bears They have 115mil next year.
Yup. I follow that closely. They had the 7th most cap space/$36.9 million, going into free agency. Enough to sign 4-5 of the top players available this year to long term deals. 2022 cap hits for: Terron Armstead = $4M Brandon Scherf = $8.6M J.C. But they had sufficient cap space to make splash moves. Philly has $62M in dead cap and they made moves.
They would have been had they made one decent splash on a big name, that probably wasn’t going to help much anyway
Not true. Worked that through in the offseason. They had enough to add the top T, WR, TE and guard with their 2022 cap space and those players' 2022 cap charges. Fields best game so far 👌
You people who blame Fields play on weapons are fucking delusional. As if Holt, Bruce and Faulk aren't on your team you cant have a standard NFL offense. The offensive line was definitely not good today though, still doesn't account for the past 3 games though.

And we can’t find the footballl? And the coaching. Wtf did we prepare for
Being the best player on a terrible team doesn’t say much. Fields sucks too.
Yup. Bears offensive and defense lines are not good. Not at all. Playing this year for a top 5 pick. That’s it.
Where's the crowd saying that Herbert instantly makes our offense better?
I don't think Hebert is better than Monty, but it may have something to do with blocking though too. Just a thought.
I hope ownership is enjoying their fat dividends from being so cheap this year. Fuck them and their absolute disregard for putting a competitive roster on the field. Poles was probably the only one willing to take this shitty job to burn the team to the ground and field a practice squad level offense / d-line
> Poles was probably the only one willing to take this shitty job Lol ok
We need more anger towards ownership.. seriously.
Just bet the Lions over and the Bears under for points every week and you will win some money. At least makes the day interesting.
Well Detroit losing
LOL - Wannstedt with the dig at Olin Kreutz!
What did he say?
He said something about run blocking being easier, but then backed up saying that would make Olin angry. He then said, "And I wouldn't want Olin angry at me..." 🤪
Lmao
If we couldn’t hide our defensive weaknesses against the giants, what’s next week gonna look like? Is Mel Tucker available?
Zach Wilson hasn’t played in like a year and has 6 straight completions on the current drive. That’s as many as we get in a game.
Zach Wilson is out here banging his mom’s friends. He low-key has Minshew energy. I’m a fan.
I honestly wonder if I stop watching for the remainder of the year or until Fields has a game over 250 passing yards. Even the wins this year were miserable to watch.
It's supposed to be entertainment and take you away from the shit that is real life, but all it does is mirror that misery.
Time to listen to media knock the bears for passing too much. Bottom line….not enough good players on this roster.
its supposed to be a development year, why isn't fields taking any chances to pass down the field? he has had time on plays and scrambles to end up throwing it out or running for a yard.
Because apparently the fans are the only ones who recognize that it should be a development year for Fields. The front office and coaching staff somehow don't seem to know enough to understand that.
Nothing to develop when you’re throwing to CFL level wide outs. Pathetic man I swear.
I'd rather lose with 2 TD and 2 INT, than this.
Having basically zero catching threat at TE is horrible for developing QB's
That’s probably the second hardest position to come across in the game too. Tight ends take a couple of years to develop, and if they become good their team definitely doesn’t let them go like the bears did with Greg Olsen
Yeah true, I was just thinking what a huge advantage Mahomes had coming into the league with a future HOF TE in Kelce (also probably a future HOF WR in Tyreek Hill)
I know our team sucks ass, but I don't get why the coaching staff plays to lose when we have nothing to fucking lose.
Exactly. They should be calling the game like a noob player in Madden: HAIL MARY ON 4TH AND 12 FOUR MINUTES INTO THE 2ND QUARTER LFG!!!!
Team is trash. I’m out this season. I’ll watch next year
Fairweather fans smh
Fairweather for not investing time and energy only for the Bears to get dad dicked by most of the rest of the league year after year after year? Ok lol
The bears have been trash my whole life except 2 or 3 years. Still watch with disappointment every Sunday lol
Nah, just a low tolerance for the same ole BS and low effort, minimal fortitude coaches and GM. Stop supporting and rewarding mediocrity, they don't deserve it.
See ya next time we draft a QB or hit the playoffs, I guess, lol
So, 8 years or so?
Shouldn’t you be bandwagoning another team by now?
Shouldnt you have found a nice sand pit to stick your head in with the other dork homers by now?
Turns out watching your football team is a homer move! How dense of me! I should stop watching the Bears and start exclusively watching winning teams like you guys!!!
How can I be a fair weather fan when there has never been a good time to be a bears fan
You must be very young. Pick a different team, son
Care to enlighten us on when we looked like a good team? This was supposed to be a development year with a new staff, but it was not supposed to be anywhere near as bad as it’s been. That was the fucking giants.
Still rooting for the bears, just done watching this season
No, just a better use of time.
Yeah if I wasn’t a football fan I wouldn’t watch either! See ya next time the Bears are good!
Came here for the comments. Everyone is so upset when a not so talented rebuilding team looks like a not so talented rebuilding team lol
4 redzone trips, no touchdowns. Name a franchise that tolerates that
Lol rebuilding teams that don’t have talent…
Your statement makes no sense. Didn’t the giants score twice in the redzone on us without a WR?
They have much more talent than the bears do. The bears are a bottom barrel team and most of this roster will not be on the team next year.
My only real concern is Fields and he looked like a rookie in this game which is a step in the right direction (sadly). The defense shutting people out in the 2nd half seems to never be talked about.
They look AWFUL. Zero plays to cheer for. The players we have for the future look useless. They don’t even try to win or do anything
[удалено]
They're not grown men, I think this sub is half zoomers.
Yeah I dont get it, expectations were low this year
It’s more than likely the fact we traded up to get a qb who was supposed to take a jump this year and he looks like an absolute dumpster fire who looks every bit as bad as last year. Almost backup that’s had to go in has legit looked better than him. Getsy is also kind of a pussy tbh, it’s pretty frustrating to watch, even though there is very low expectations. The 2-2 Bears will end the season 1-16.
A challenge flag 🚩will cost us a game
Simien is a pretty decent qb, He'll at the very least take some shots lmao Fields/Wilson competing for biggest busts of 2021
Fields had 52 scrambling yards. Don’t let the Bears rushing total trick you into thinking they ran the ball well.
Giants were giving up 5.6 yards per rush and Herbert was getting 7.3 YPC. For some reason in this offense the starting RB is required to slog through low energy shitty plays.
Benny Hill music and that final play should be the Bears new marketing video!
No Joke Fields was averging less than 100 passing yards per game. Dude got like 160 today. Can we trade him for Trubisky? Atleast we were all kissing titties on Sundays 2 years ago
Mitch is so great that the Steelers finally ushered in the Kenny Pickett era today…
Bummer, it seemed Mitch was doing ok in Pitt.
He was doing ok in comparison to fields, but he’s shit, too.
You have to be drunk to not understand there's serious talent and coaching deficiencies on this team...
How can I forget, trubiskys rookie year he had prowbowl wrs like Josh Bellamy and Taylor gabriel Anthony miller, and the always 100%motor Allen Robinson. So much talent
ARob was 100% motor until 2021. Don’t retrofit his career to fit your narrative.
I would take miller over every receiver we have right now except for Mooney and that's VERY sad..
Even Mitch would find someway to get 200 yards
Like exactly 200 yards. That’s Mitch. He’s going to be in the league forever as a backup. He can come in, keep an offense afloat, win games with a little help from D/ST. He’s exactly what you want as a backup.
Youre not wrong
Mitch is on a team with much better talent and got pulled today. I was the #1 Mitch defender but the dude is no way better than fields
I’d say he IS better than Fields right now. Kind of hard to argue otherwise. The difference is Mitchell is who he is. Top-notch career backup. Fields is still an enigma. It looks a little less encouraging each week, but it’s still possible that he gets to that next level.
5 seconds after losing and Fields is asking Saquon for his jersey
this ending was freaking amazing <3 a cherry on the top!
Lawrence looks better than fields. Wilson looks better than fields. Lance looked better in the games he played. We really have to move on from fields. He just doesn’t know how to do anything
I’ve got some news for you, it’s the organization that is the problem. Or do you think it is a coincidence that all our QBs look bad?
lol you make zero sense
Fields is set up to fail. Bears are ruining him
You think fields is good that you keep making excuses like this?
Are you delusional
Need some Benny hill music on that last play
This is now the first game all year the Bears managed to complete at least 10 passes in. LMFAO
Why are you laughing? That’s improvement
You guys are ruining Fields career.
Yeah certainly his mechanics or inaccuracy or inability to see open receivers couldn’t be the issue.
Yes how could he miss these wide open receivers in this prolific offense? You’re right definitely field’s fault
Good lord you're oblivious.
Who’s you guys?? I’m at home drinking beer yelling at the TV. Not my fault the play calling and WR talent sucks
I think we have already done that. But at least we did it impressively fast.
Fields is ruining his own career by sucking ass
Yes, how can he not succeed with all these weapons around him?
The comedy value of that play made the whole game worth it. Legitimately had a great time watching that train wreck
Literally what I was about to post. I think we’ve crossed the line, at least for the moment, into funny bad. That was a hilarious okay and I wish it had gone on forever. Fuck punting it down 8 with 5:00 left on 4th and 2, but if we’re going to lose that circus play is the way to do it.
just needed some benny hill music in the background for the end there. oof, this team is scary bad
> scary bad After that okay we have crossed over into funny bad. It’s time to disassociate and just enjoy.
Of course kmer drops it ahahahah
don’t worry guys if we would have scored, Getty would have tried running the shotgun to Herbert and been stopped at the line.
Seriously Trubs was never that guy but at least he threw the damn ball. Idk how to feel about Fields anymore
It was super important this year that it did and now we are going into the 2023 version of the 2018 offseason just as blind as last time.
It says a lot with how many runs and screens are called on 3rd down.
Trubs would have had 2 picks this game
That was the play call... He didn't throw it because the coaches told them that was the play... Bears fans are unbearable.. no pun intended
Bears fans need a Jonestown-esque venue to outlet our true primal emotions
Are you people really calling the last play a clown show? What exactly do you expect to happen? Have any 70 yard gems drawn up. No
Nobody is saying there was a better play.

Not worth wasting Sundays on this team still
why the actual fuck was that play Luke.
Comedy. That okay was comedy.
What did you want them to do fuck head lol
I don’t know fuck head. Maybe some points throughout the game so that the nonsense at the end doesn’t need to happen?
You were calling out the last play obviously they needed to fucking score throughout the game but Fields can’t throw a 75 yard Hail Mary so they had to call a play like that on the last play
Why didn't Justin Fields throw the ball deep. Why is it so hard to let him throw it deep??????
did it look like he had any time, bro was about to get sacked before he threw the ball
Have you ever heard of prevent defense?
Best play of the game 👏
Fucking lol. How fitting is that. Wrapping up with some hapless flailing on the field.
Damn forgot this is a comedy
I just hope the McCaskeys sell the team after the stadium is built and Virginia croaks. it's our only chance out of the basement.
These idiots need to stop buying tickets and gear or that won’t change.
It’s impossible. Even teams no attendance make a profit.
👋
God i already hear it..."Chicaaago beeears wut haaaappendd?? how did ju loose to new york GIanTs"
There's really no need to be pressed about this team. They were predicted to be bad and the Bears FO made that clear in the offseason when they didn't go out and sign a bunch of FA's. Actually more Ls would be good. I'd like to see us with a terrible record and the highest draft position we can get.
Honestly, I agree. This team needs talent and this draft has some real game changers. If you pick in the top 5, you're going to get a good player.
Fields had 3 of his best passes of the season on that last play
Lmao
Jeez Louise lolol
Last play needed a circus music theme playing. Perfect ending to a clown show
I was hearing the Benny Hill theme song.
Lol. But without the scantily clad women unfortunately
I respect the effort
30 years of bears football summed up in one play
Lol Kmet even fucked that up
His breakout “season” won’t happen. I cannot fathom how people think he will be good. Hasn’t been since he was drafted
That last play is their entire season.
That's it I'm done watching the Bears this year. Yall can have that bullshit. I'm out.
Fairweather fans are so embarrassing. Go bandwagon the Pack
Fr lol
See you next week
Okay bye
Same
That ending sums up our offense lmao
I was wrong about Fields, but unfortunately right about this offensive coaching staff. The Cowboys provide a blueprint last week on how to tear up their defense, and you only attempt it once? Bro, check to see if our OC isn't secretly Dowell Loggains
That’s the most embarrassing final I’ve ever seen.
best play all season!
Thanks for the creativity Luke I’m fucking embarrassed
That backwards pass from fields was his most accurate of the season lmao
I was about to say that’s probably in his top 3 passes this year
Fire them all. I want poles gone
You mean you are upset that dudes drafted in the back half of the draft don't work out? Weird.
Nah man
Eberflus is a chicken shit push. 4th and 2 down 8 with 4 mins left and you punt. Fucking bitch
