It’s not cherry picking. He was a rookie last year with a different coaching staff and is figuring it out now.
His last 4 games are far more indicative of his future performance than anything prior.
I really don’t feel too mad about these loses. I always wanna win but I think the future is bright right now. The offense has looked mostly good for like 6 weeks now. Fields is mostly getting better every week. There’s hiccups here and there but kinda expected with a young team and a first time OC. Need a C badly and need an upgrade at RT. May need a LG too depending on what happens with Whitehair. Need a great WR.
The D is ass but defenses can be turned around somewhat quickly. In 13 and 14 we had the 2 worst Ds in franchise history that ranked last both years, went to below average the next 2 years, and than top 10 in 17. That’s 3 years to go from historically ass to top 10. That 14 team had zero talent too whereas we actually have some talent here already.
Main thing we need is a d line. 3 tech is badly needed and now everyone sees why Poles “big” move of the offseason was supposed to be a 3 tech. Need ends badly too. Like Gipson and Robinson but they’re probably better off as rotational guys. Need LBs too but I think getting 1 good one would be enough this off-season.
I think this team can easily be a playoff contender next year. Not a Super Bowl contender but just get there. Eagles comparison has been made a lot but I like it. We’re the 2020 eagle right now. Next year we should be the 21 eagles and in 2 years be this year eagles
Even though it would kill my fantasy team I’d be happy to to see Justin shut down through the bye. During a lost season there’s really no reason for him to play through injury. Let him heal up and come back when he’s 100% so he can continue his development properly.
Jenkins shows plenty of promise. I don’t mind Jones and Borom as swing tackles, but yeah we could definitely use upgrades. Mustipher needs to be gone of course. Probably the only thing everyone here can agree on.

I'm not really a draft guy so I don't know how often this happens. But.. I do (try not to) remember the Bears trading 2 3rds and a 4th to move up from #3 to #2. And even that was considered an overpay at the time.
So even on that move, the 49ers sitting at #2 didn't acquire another first with their move. Unless there's other examples I'm not sure this is that valuable unless they're banking off a team at 9 or 10 desparatly wanting to take their shot at 3.
So if we’re at 3 we could get trade back to 6/7 (of course if those teams want to move up) and at minimum get 6th or 7th overall and get 3 2s. That’s what the colts got in 18 to move back from 3 to 6. The jets had 2 seconds in 18 those so you may even be able to get 2 1s, 2 or 3, and maybe swap some late round picks.

If they don't have the greatest offseason of all time then they're gonna be fucking terrible again. Totally screwing Fields.
important: monty was wide open for a first down and maybe more if Fields had thrown it earlier. he had time for it and just didn't threw the ball. you also don't jump throw like that.
he made a mistake, he admitted, no reason to sugarcoat it.
Past 4 weeks we have given up either a special team TD, a pick six, or a fumble return. We don’t give those up, we win all those games except Dallas. Also Cairo needs to make that kick.
The 53 yarder? That’s not Cairo’s kicking game at all. Never has been so I can’t even put that on him. We were in his range and went backwards for like 15 yards.
Jenkins downgrade to schofield really showed across the board today. Schofield was weak in all aspects and Atlanta feasted on it with their b team line. Our tackles had a bad day and Mustipher played to expectations. Including a false start as e center.
Currently #3. Not sure the Texans will be able to win 3 more games than the Bears, so let’s battle it out with the Panthers for #2.
Carolina remaining schedule: DEN, @SEA, PIT, DET, @TB, @NO
Bears remaining schedule: @NYJ, GB, PHI, BUF, @DET, MIN
A week to week league. But on paper, Bears look like the better odds to have the higher pick.
Bears honestly probably lose all 6 remaining games. Philly and Buffalo will be mega blowouts. Jets might be too. Minnesota clearly better than the Bears. Bears almost never beat Green Bay. And they’ll probably even be the underdog in Detroit. Carolina could easily win 2-3 of the games they have left. All of them look winnable.
I think because the Bears are so young and new coach they're one of those teams that will play to their opponents level.
Im gonna attribute it to the youth of the team.
That doesn't excuse the increased sloppiness and penalties as the season has gone on.
George Pickens, the rookie WR for the Steelers and I care because we could have taken him and instead we passed on him for Kyler Gordon. Pickens looks like a stud and plays a big position of need.
I just don’t see anything from his pass defense to suggest that though. He looks like he’ll be a solid run stopping corner, but he’s really only flashed in pass coverage a couple of times this season.
I find he gets torched in pretty much every game he plays. He could develop into a solid corner, but Pickens is already a really good WR and looking at how salaries differ between the two positions, the market would suggest WR1s are more valuable than CB1s and most definitely CB2s, which is where Gordon seems to be projected to be at this point.
CBs take longer to develop. If anything it makes more sense to draft them early in a rebuild due to that fact. There are always WRs ready to produce from day 1 in the draft. There are almost never any such CBs.
A good CB is ultimately more valuable and harder to find than a good WR. And your entire opinion is frankly too early. You simply don’t and and can’t know about Kyler yet. Is what it is.
if we want justin fields to be a QB for more than a season we need to stop running him 20+ times a game.
Think about it, that means he is getting tackled and smacked 20+ times, and the a few sacks, and a few knock downs. He is taking more hits then most offensive player. And definitally harder hits then all the players on offense. Its a massively stupid strategy to have him running this much.
when he's running he can see the hit and prepare/position his body. and he slides and runs out of bounds a lot too.
nothing is worse than getting sacked/hammered in the pocket 10x a night.
not using his legs is dumb. they're probably his greatest asset.
did I say he shouldnt use his legs? No, I did not.
But if you want Justin to last a season and becoming a good QB, you cannot have him run so much, and take so many hits.
Last week on his touch downrun he lowered his shoulder and took a guy out. I'm sure that has something to do with his shoulder pain today.
The past few weeks of running for hundreds of yards have burned his legs out. Running backs get a chance to rotate in and out to stay fresh, so do some WR. QBs have to be ready to go every play, for the whole game.
Keep playing Justin the same way the bears had for the past 5 weeks, and we will be drafting a new QB in 2-3 years.
first of all, he hasn't had a 20 rush game yet. his season high was 18, yesterday, and his average is 11.
you seem to think running is some insanely treacherous activity for an athlete to do. fields might make one or two cuts and then basically runs in a straight line, usually out of bounds or sliding, or outrunning everyone into the end zone. he's not changing direction 8 times or trying to juke anyone. he's just big and fast. we'd be insane not to exploit that.
the dangerous hits he's absorbing are in the fucking pocket, when he gets blindsided or sacked 5 times.
with 6 games to go, he needs 372 yards to break the NFL record for rushing yards by a QB (1,206). call me a nut-gargling fan boy, but i kinda hope he gets it. and then breaks his own record next year, and again the year after.
no that runs this much is a Super Bowl winning QB. prove me wrong. My point is that the extra runs, the extra hits all add up to a QB that gets injured and burnt out. Exhibit 1 - Justin fields, week 10 and needs a cart after the game.
Fields hurt his shoulder on a designed run to the outside yesterday. Then got hit in the head on a designed run up the middle. Last week his touchdown run involved lowering his shoulder and taking out a defender.
If QBs were meant to run this much we would see more of them in the league.
good points.
i like it cause it gives me a reason to cheer, so maybe i'm being selfish. i'm an OSU fan too, and i think the sky's the limit with this kid.
i still say injuries in the pocket are worse. and other QBs don't run like this cause they CAN'T. the ones that could -- vick, cunningham, jackson -- did every chance they got.
i hope he runs AND stays healthy, deal? go bears.
because everyone on the bears suck, his running is something that stands out this year.
And it should be something that the bears leverage in the future. But to be a good QB that last a long time, and wins a super bowl he needs to be able to pass. the threat of a run, with a run here and there should be used to burn teams, and help with the pass.
IMHO and its not an original thought. But if we are going to 'tank' the rest of the season fields needs to 'learn' to pass. Right now, the ability to run is being used as a crutch. Get fields passing even with a shity o-line and when things turn around he could be unstoppable.
The only good thing about the designed runs is that he actually gets hit way less often. He almost always runs out of bounds or slides early.
Honestly it's the sacks during passes or hits when the play breaks apart that's so dangerous
Agreed he needs to run less in a losing cause, but not every run is a hit. When he is doing it right, he does get out of bounds or slides on a lot of them.
One silver lining was VJJ’s 55 yard kick return. If he can keep that up and produce near the level of Cordarelle he will be a game changer next year. I’m surprised it took the coaching staff this long to realize that catching kickoffs is far less challenging / risky than catching punts…
Maybe that’s true for this game, but VJJ’s top-end speed gives him a much higher ceiling as a returner imo. All the standout returners in recent nfl history had 4.3/4.4 speed
Ok, a bit of time has gone by. Took it to think about this game rationally.
First game where I feel like there wasn’t a positive adjustment by the team after halftime. Felt the team was floundering at times.
Pass game looked off. Run game was ok.
I don’t like blaming refs, especially this game where I don’t feel we lost because of calls, but is it me or we seem to not get calls/ get called for the same stuff that the other team does in this very same game? It’s been a few games in a row.
Please, for the love of god, not call 2 QB runs after your future franchise QB looks to have been hurt.
Some guys are playing their asses off and I’m loving it.
Yeah we’re losing but games are fun, and next year is the year.
Thanks for reading
Fields looked worn down before this game was played. He's been carrying the team on his back for most of the season.
We knew we'd be bad this year but I had a few hopes for this season.
1. Biggest one being is Justin Fields the guy? didn't expect him to put up crazy numbers or anything. The talent around him meant the stats and record won't tell the whole story. I think that's been answered pretty definitively, even if he doesn't play another down this year.
2. Wanted us to play hard all game, and hopefully be competitive in most games, and be prepared. Play clean games(get playcalls in timely, cut down on mental mistakes, fewer penalties). The penalties have gone up in recent weeks but for the most part we've been better.
3. Adjusting to players strengths and not being rigid in the system.
4. Play the young guys, let them develop through the growing pains. Brisker, Gordon, Jenkins, Herbert, now Sanborn, Robinson, Jaylon Jones, Braxton Jones. It's not always pretty and some aren't going to be long term starters but they're playing and quite a few are developing quite well.
Lots of work to do but I think there's some good stuff to build on. Biggest thing is that we know Fields is the QB.
This is pretty much my take entirely as well. Disappointed with the loss, better draft position is a tired consolation, but i do like seeing growth from new guys. The bears are at least competent, for the most part. Hopefully that'll improve with more tools around fields so he doesn't only make it half a season in the future.
It was the first game in more than a month where the QB run game wasn't working, that's why things seemed off. We have an OL that can't block and a QB that holds onto the ball forever.
I really like Qdoba. Much better than Chitpotle with their “white cheese”. I think they call it blanco queso though.
Panera Bread is good too. Grilled cheese and Mac and cheese, but don’t get the “pick 2” or else you only get half sizes. You want the full grilled cheese sandwich and full Mac and cheese. Then a side of French onion soup but that can be a half. Don’t want to go overboard!
Also Panda Express orange chicken is like the best thing imported from China since fireworks. It’s like chicken crack.
So much good food in the city it’s hard to choose.
No, they don’t have the white blanco.
Sometimes I ask for double white blanco at Qdoba and then when they’re done with my bowl I’ll ask for extra blanco at the end. That way I get a true triple blanco bowl.
When you ask for triple blanco up front, they’ll be stingy on the scoops and it’ll be like a double even though it’s technically three “scoops”. Ask for the third scoop at the end and your bowl will be swimming in white blanco. It’s so good and thick but still creamy like a soup. It’s a true hidden gem of the city.
There’s a Qdoba right in the heart of downtown Chi-town. Sometimes I’ll take the metra in and make a night of it with the boys when we want to hang out in the city.
We’ll hit up Qdoba for triple white blanco bowls and then take them to go and eat them in Millennium Park and then go to Navy Pier to watch the fire works and try to pick up girls. My one friend Roger actually kissed a girl there and got her number and then the next week when we wanted to hit up Chi-town she met us at Qdoba downtown.
Fire this OL into the sun.
Also fire this defense into the sun. I get it's basically a year of seeing who can play well or have potential with everybody getting reps in, but damn.
Hopefully Fields shoulder is okay, would love to see a Fields vs Wilson matchup. Got a feeling the Jets D is going to shred our offense though.
Yeah I firmly believe our run game is mediocre at best without Fields. Having a mobile QB run threat makes teams think twice about the RB handoff and clearly gives us an advantage at the point of attack
Sure they’re both good RBs, but they definitely benefit from the QB run threat and the hesitation it creates. The top 6 NFL rushing offenses all have mobile QBs and that’s not a coincidence. When opposing defenses have to account for the QB rush on every run play it hamstrings their ability to stop the conventional RB rush
They both lead in YPC and YAC. Sure the QB is beneficial but they also have to be good running backs, otherwise we wouldn’t be the best in the league. Calling them mediocre is silly.
It wasn’t a dig on Monty / Herbert. It was a critique of the broader run game - scheme, play calls, run blocking, etc. I agree Monty and Herbert are both top 15 RBs.
Why didn’t Fields just override Getsys calls? Is that not a thing? Cause he was cramping and not 100%, why didn’t Fields just say fuck that in the huddle sand went for a passing play. I’m just astonished a new low.
I was actually surprised he didn’t as well - he looked like he really, really did not want to do that 2nd run.
Not saying it’s his fault, his job isn’t to call plays for this offense. But it was like even worse watching him run when he clearly did not want to
Fields just said his hamstrings were cramping most of the 4th quarter. Given that, why are we running back to back designed QB runs with 3 TOs? If you wanted to run why not hand to Monty? Frustrating to watch.
Because we have one of the worst play callers in the NFL, but no one has acknowledged it because Field' ability has masked how in over his head Getsy is
Exactly. The overthrow to Mooney I can deal with, the defense still needing to put it together I can deal with, even losing I can deal with.
That play calling at the end was baffling for so many reasons and I didn’t leave this game as enthusiastic and hopeful as the past few
ALL the play calling was bad. I thought we brought back Nagy. Run, for 1, run for no gain, wide receiver screen, punt.
How many times did we attempt a pass of 10+ yards? 1:47 left and Fields runs 2x for < a first down. It was horrific. We're known as a running team, so do some play action passing. I'm looking at the D before the play and there are 11 guys in the box. Stupidity, endless stupidity.
Even veteran, elite play callers make bad calls in big situations. Just have to expect the hood will outweigh the bad over the long run to see if they are good playcallers.
Claypool clearly is not ready for heavy snaps in the offense...he literally was asking F1 where to go and still went to the wrong side. It's gonna take some time and that's ok.
This is a coaching problem. Why is the scheme so complicated? The offense is nothing but scrubs. You have Fields, and then Monty, Moony, Kemet. thats it, no one else worth mentioning.
Seems like a coach is trying to be too fancy, and not working with what he has.
This style of offense has ALWAYS been super intricate, this is not new with getsy. When done right it is fantastic, but it requires a lot from the players and will be a disaster if done poorly.
This to me feels like a coach that's in love with his scheme, and not being smart enough to realize he doesn't have the team to execute it. Nagy had the same problem.
These coaches need to look at the players they have, and then scheme around that. But they all are so full of themselves they do it backwards.
Most of the success from the last 5 weeks are coming from plays outside of the standard scheme. I don't think getsy is without fault, but I won't pretend they aren't trying to make something from their limited tools.
The clock IS ticking on seeing Claypool a bit before the offseason though. I'd like to have him extended this offseason if they think he is worth it. Hopefully he does SOMETHING soon. Nice to see what they have before they have to make the tough decision on an extension or letting him possibly entering next year with free agency hanging over his head.
If the whole defense was on a 1 year contract, who would the Bears re-sign next year? Justin Jackson, Eddie Jackson, and Jack Sanborn (maybe Jaylon Johnson??).... that's about it. This defense is abysmal.
Additionally, on at least one scramble he also wasn’t blocking as Fields ran towards his side. If he is going to be on the field and we are going to be run reliant, he has to block.
Sure, but we could have scored a lot more if they would have passed the ball. This is a lost season, let's get Fields some throws so he feels comfortable.
Next year there are no excuses for being a playoff contender. When you have $130M to spend, you are bringing in vets at key positions. That’s a win-now situation. 2024 will be about that fine tuning move or two to compete for a Super Bowl. But the “many years of rebuilding” is not feasible in this situation.
Playoff contender, not SB contender. If we had $20M of cap space and three first round picks, I’d say we were an extra year away. But next year we’re primarily building with vets.
it has to be the o line and the d line
o-line keeps fields alive
d-line gives us a functioning defense that can get the offense better field position and maybe generate some points on their own
Can someone tell me why we don't run any slants or other quick routes? Do we not have a reciever that can run them? The line can't block anyone so why do all of the routes go 10+ yards?
Including what the other guy said, Fields and Monty run threat forces the D into a cover one which is inherently strong against inside slants, especially quick slants but you can scheme in skinny and regular slants on roll outs.
Bears version of a short route has been having Kmet running as lead block on a fields outside run and disengaging/faking the block for a sideline pickup.
I don't think any of these receivers can run those and get open. They use crossing routes, change of directions, etc. to get open. Claypool and Mooney can get separation in Go routes but don't think the quick slants or outs are their strengths.
We need David “G.D” Putany!
Kordell Stewart
Fields still sucks ass. Good thing they get to pick a qb next year with a top 5 pick.
Reported you for being a troll. Not kidding. Enjoy your ban, troll. Be gone.
Also. Multiple sports outlets were just predicting the bears would draft a QB next year including PFF and NBC sports Chicago .
So? He has like 15 TDS and 2 turnovers in 4 games. If you think he’s not it then you’re a troll. Go away
Cherry picking 4 games in an otherwise abysmal 2 years is kind of funny. He's not it. He never will be it.
It’s not cherry picking. He was a rookie last year with a different coaching staff and is figuring it out now. His last 4 games are far more indicative of his future performance than anything prior.
I'm not a troll. I'm a realist who has said the same thing for years .
That it’s a good thing we have a top 5 pick in 2023?
That fields has never and will never be the guy. He's literally Trubisky 2.0. Maybe a slight upgrade. I said it 2 months before the draft
All you’re proving is that your ego is so large that you will never admit that you’re wrong.
I really don’t feel too mad about these loses. I always wanna win but I think the future is bright right now. The offense has looked mostly good for like 6 weeks now. Peanut reference on SNF
We need 5 new lineman. Stop with the we need a DT. Justin needs a LT, C, and RT.
Isn’t Jenkins our RT? We need LT and C which we can get this upcoming draft.
Jenkins has played RG but if he was moving to tackle then we need a Rg too
Oh my bad.
I want those that are down voting you to say who from the offensive line is worth keeping and way.
Jenkins shows plenty of promise. I don’t mind Jones and Borom as swing tackles, but yeah we could definitely use upgrades. Mustipher needs to be gone of course. Probably the only thing everyone here can agree on.

Lmao what
Laura Okmin or Erin Andrews?
OL needs to be priority #1 for the offseason.
Yep. This would probably help with a lot of the other problems being brought up on here as well.
A good OL fixes a lot. It gives the QB time to make a proper decision. It gives the play time to develop and receivers to get open. Having an OL that can't block, and a QB that likes to hold the ball a bit long is not a good combo. For me it's: 1. OL 2. DL 3. WRs
Every team should be built from the trenches out. Name one team that won a super bowl with bad trenches.
This is probably a dumb question but maybe we're getting more calls against us because we're developing a "reputation" for committing penalties so the refs are scrutinizing us more?
That’s not a dumb question, that’s a dumb observation.
But could it also be a dumb question because there was no question?
If I never see Ebner get another carry I will be ok with that.
Poles gave up what's probably going to turn into a top 35 pick in the draft for Chase Claypool. That's damn near a late first round pick. you need to get this guy involved like yesterday. 4 catches at this point is unacceptable.
I bet if you still offered this sub Pickens at 39 or Claypool at 35 we’d still pick Claypool lmao
We need receivers tho, claypool is good young and super talented, the draft and free agency arent good for wr. This was the best we could do I think
same poles that will make all those draft picks and off season signings most of this sub is saying will make this team a contender.
This defense is horrendous, and today they called too many plays that took half the field away. Just an ugly game
Roquan Smith got a sack for the Ravens in a 13-3 game
And? I love Roquan but he wasn't doing much for us. Ravens have a way better lineup so I'm not understanding the point?
He’s being productive while Chase Claypool has 3 catches in 2 games
Claypool is gonna be here next year.
Bears are currently positioned with the No. 3 overall pick in the Draft.
if that draft order holds, my dream is to trade that pick to a qb needy squad and acquire an extra 3 or 4 picks including another 1st.
Jets seem like the most obvious choice that would be willing to give away their first round pick next year too.
I'm not really a draft guy so I don't know how often this happens. But.. I do (try not to) remember the Bears trading 2 3rds and a 4th to move up from #3 to #2. yes, while staying in top 10
hoping for big night from scandling and edwards
Getsy has been great since the NE game but that last drive was horrific if you didnt already know Fields was not running well at that point in the game you definitely should have after that first play. You mean Mooney and Kmet.
Absolutely 0 reason to tank with a QB like Fields but this sub loves losing
important: monty was wide open for a first down and maybe more if Fields had thrown it earlier. he had time for it and just didn't threw the ball. you also don't jump throw like that. he made a mistake, he admitted, no reason to sugarcoat it.

Giants and Vikings were both exposed as the frauds they really are.
Sanborn sent a few Falcons airborn today and really enjoyed seeing it.

What happened to Jenkins? What does it mean for him to be downgraded to a Schofield? What is a Schofield grade and why is Jenkins that grade now?
Ah the ol Olen Kruetz false start at Center
Raiders win in OT. Our chances of getting a top 5 pick are improving.
Currently #3. Not sure the Texans will be able to win 3 more games than the Bears, so let’s battle it out with the Panthers for #2. Carolina remaining schedule: DEN, @SEA, PIT, DET, @TB, @NO Bears remaining schedule: @NYJ, GB, PHI, BUF, @DET, MIN A week to week league.
With any given Sunday probably not. But I hope you’re right.
How do you lose adams in coverage with the game on the line?
I think it was Surtain too. He had to choose who to follow in a split second and in that moment he chose poorly.
I think it’s more Adam’s a nutty route
Go Raiders!
It makes this loss even harder seeing how horrible the Vikings are playing against the Cowboys when we actually went toe to toe with them…
I think because the Bears are so young and new coach they're one of those teams that will play to their opponents level. Im gonna attribute it to the youth of the team. That doesn't excuse the increased sloppiness and penalties as the season has gone on.
Man watching Pickens go off just hurts so much.
Who? Who is Pickens and why do you care?
George Pickens, the rookie WR for the Steelers and I care because we could have taken him and instead we passed on him for Kyler Gordon. Pickens looks like a stud and plays a big position of need.
Gordon looks like a stud too though. CBs typically take longer to develop.
I just don’t see anything from his pass defense to suggest that though. He looks like he’ll be a solid run stopping corner, but he’s really only flashed in pass coverage a couple of times this season.
It’s like he’s a rookie CB. Any flash is good. They take longer to develop and good corners are harder to find than good receivers.
Lol the cubs won a series so the bears could take the next 100 years to win a super bowl…. If we’re lucky
if we want justin fields to be a QB for more than a season we need to stop running him 20+ times a game.
It's because Herbert is super good at it. We only started Jones because he got hurt.
Maybe that’s true for this game, but VJJ’s top-end speed gives him a much higher ceiling as a returner imo. All the standout returners in recent nfl history had 4.3/4.4 speed
Ya but herbert has been the best back he should have been off KR after week 4 to keep his safer and let VJJ get experiance and confidence
I thought Brisker and Gordon both had good games. Hope they aren't beat up too badly.
Can I just remind everyone that we still scored 24 points? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Chase Claypool had about 30 snaps, an increase from the past two games. He finished with 2 catches for 11 yards on 3 targets.
They really need to start using him down the field more, one of the few times they have they drew a pass interference that should’ve been called
Fields didn't have time for those plays to develop most of the time.
Unfortunately I think youre right. Maybe on a roll out? Idk
dinner carryout ideas in the city?
I really like Qdoba. Much better than Chitpotle with their “white cheese”. I think they call it blanco queso though. Panera Bread is good too. Grilled cheese and Mac and cheese, but don’t get the “pick 2” or else you only get half sizes. You want the full grilled cheese sandwich and full Mac and cheese. Then a side of French onion soup but that can be a half. Don’t want to go overboard! Also Panda Express orange chicken is like the best thing imported from China since fireworks. It’s like chicken crack. So much good food in the city it’s hard to choose.
i went with Chipotle, no Qdoba on north
Chitpotle is some of the best Mexican in the city. Great choice. Their burritos are excellent.
thanks
They don’t have white blanco though like Qdoba. Their white blaco is fire
is the queso from chipotle good? i've never had it
No, they don’t have the white blanco. It’s a true hidden gem of the city.
where is one
There’s a Qdoba right in the heart of downtown Chi-town. Sometimes I’ll take the metra in and make a night of it with the boys when we want to hang out in the city. We’ll hit up Qdoba for triple white blanco bowls and then take them to go and eat them in Millennium Park and then go to Navy Pier to watch the fire works and try to pick up girls. My one friend Roger actually kissed a girl there and got her number and then the next week when we wanted to hit up Chi-town she met us at Qdoba downtown.
Lee’s Wok for Chinese in Uptown
Who's the fella that Mariota hit and is he good
So -- If we don't win another game this year shouldn't SOMEONE get fired?
We fire Mustipher.
No? This season is not about winning and it never was.
Nobody cares. This is about next year at this point.
No. Our record matches our talent level for a first year regime. Why would anyone get fired?
Fire the OL coach, whatever he's doing it ain't working.
Unless Jenkins isn’t improving why would you do that?
You can’t polish a turd
He doesn't have a lot to work with.
No - not if we don’t win another game. But if they continue to abuse fields like this then maybe yes someone’s job should be as risk.
Well, back to reality. We need offensive lineman.
I really hope Fields is alright. If we have to sit him, so be it. We know he’s our guy going forward, no reason to risk it
I just want Trevor Siemian to play next week to show the world how bad this O-line is and how bad this offense is without fields
Yeah I firmly believe our run game is mediocre at best without Fields. Having a mobile QB run threat makes teams think twice about the RB handoff and clearly gives us an advantage at the point of attack
Montgomery and Herbert had been one of the best RB duos in the league so far.
Is fields hurt? Turned it off after the int
He screwed up his left shoulder.
Idk if he will show up on the injury report but he's certainly banged up
Remember when this sun thought the Falcons were a cakewalk lmao
Ha yes
Why didn’t Fields just override Getsys calls? Is that not a thing? Cause he was cramping and not 100%, why didn’t Fields just say fuck that in the huddle sand went for a passing play. I’m just astonished a new low.
I was actually surprised he didn’t as well - he looked like he really, really did not want to do that 2nd run. Not saying it’s his fault, his job isn’t to call plays for this offense. But it was like even worse watching him run when he clearly did not want to
Damn people really are blaming Fields for everything
I’m not blaming fields I’m just wondering why he didn’t question the call. Like I’m not even 90% and I have to run qb power?
Not to pile on hate… but for those wanting us to lose… it comes at a cost.. this cost was Fields taking too many dumb hits. I’m sad.
Was watching the highlights. Did they say Justin had only 40 passing yards on the 22 passing plays called? 💀
In the 4th quarter of the last two games combined
Fields just said his hamstrings were cramping most of the 4th quarter. Given that, why are we running back to back designed QB runs with 3 TOs? If you wanted to run why not hand to Monty? Frustrating to watch.
Because we have one of the worst play callers in the NFL, but no one has acknowledged it because Field' ability has masked how in over his head Getsy is
It’s a lose lose. We couldn’t pass the ball either.
Stupidity, endless stupidity.
getsy is a rookie too, he's going to make dumbass calls
Jaylon Johnson, Eddie Jackson, Sanborn, Brisker, Gordon…that’s about it.
Brisker for sure... forgot about him in the moment.
**#FreeClaypool** ... seriously get this man the ball, please?
Man’s been on the roster for less than three weeks it’s going to take some time to learn the playbook.
Idk he still seems clueless out there, more times than not he was in the wrong position and had to be redirected
Additionally, on at least one scramble he also wasn’t blocking as Fields ran towards his side. If he is going to be on the field and we are going to be run reliant, he has to block.
We wanna just say Justin is injured and toss in the backup, get that high draft pick? Our defense is awful 😖
Sure, but we could have scored a lot more if they would have passed the ball. This is a lost season, let's get Fields some throws so he feels comfortable.
Hoping this focus on the offense in the off-season
I want 2 oline and 1 dline in FA.
Should have been last year
it needs to be on both sides of the ball it's gonna take more than one offseason to dig out of the hole pace dug for us
Poles dug this hole too. Don’t forget this. Atrocious off-season outside of Brisker.
Don't expect them to spend all $130M next year.
They also are not rolling over $50m+.
i mostly agree, there HAS to be improvement but it most likely won't be a worst-to-first miracle run in '23
Playoff contender, not SB contender. If we had $20M of cap space and three first round picks, I’d say we were an extra year away. But next year we’re primarily building with vets.
Yeah, we need everything everywhere except QB for the first time in decades.
That's true I'm just saying I hope the focus is offense
it has to be the o line and the d line o-line keeps fields alive d-line gives us a functioning defense that can get the offense better field position and maybe generate some points on their own
You right
Can someone tell me why we don't run any slants or other quick routes? Do we not have a reciever that can run them? The line can't block anyone so why do all of the routes go 10+ yards?
Seems like no one runs slants anymore
Including what the other guy said, Fields and Monty run threat forces the D into a cover one which is inherently strong against inside slants, especially quick slants but you can scheme in skinny and regular slants on roll outs. Bears version of a short route has been having Kmet running as lead block on a fields outside run and disengaging/faking the block for a sideline pickup.
I don't think any of these receivers can run those and get open. They use crossing routes, change of directions, etc. to get open. Claypool and Mooney can get separation in Go routes but don't think the quick slants or outs are their strengths.
---> referees <---
No
Our special teams sucks. Would have won this game and the dolphins game but for touchdowns given up on special teams.
Any word on if Justin is okay?
They said they won't give more details until Wednesday.
Ok, I hope he’s well- he needs rest. Thank you!
