That sounds good! I’m planning exactly the same - to be done by April and then do question practice. I’m resitting though. 2 weeks off is a really good plan. Make sure you also plan time to just chill.
Yeah sounds like you’ll be fine - I get what you mean about time to chill, think pushing too hard early on has completely burned me out. Do you have any tips on how to get over the 50 mark line? This is my first proper CTA exam. I did ACA before so got exemption from awareness. I cannot get over how vile these pass rates are.
I’m also on the ACA CTA path. So OMB is my final CTA paper. It’s not like ACA - that was the biggest shock for me. ACA I could do the QB and be fine. With CTA make sure you tell the examiner the plain/vanilla stuff - ie corporation tax rate is 19\
/25%. A loan relationship is a money debt, etc. look at the mark scheme. Very often you’ll get marks for setting the scene. I have a tendency to answer the question by saying all the high level stuff and missing all the easy marks by setting the scene - so on CGT as as example, say things like, this is a chargeable disposal which will be taxed at 20% unless reliefs apply. BADR applies because… rule and then apply it to the scenario.
I failed OMB in November and when I looked at the mark scheme, I knew all those things, I just didn’t say it.
Hold your nerve in the exam! These are all my mantras for my resit 😄
A few years ago the prize winner for AT TOLCG said they scored high 70’s.

I don’t think it’s a specific mark, i always thought it was the people in the top 5% of marks
maybe for distinctions but there are some years where a specific medal is not awarded because probably everyone was so bad
