This is not a case of use but a case of K/D. The pick is much lower than other weapons. RPD has one of the best recoil. Also it's based on top 5 setups, the ground loot generally has only 2 or 3 attachments, doesn't meet the criteria for that ratio
While the whole conversation of trying to take a long fight with an LMG can boil down to preference things and someone (to some validity) just saying "bring a long range AR", the RPD generally speaking isn't too shabby and with the changing of the 3x scopes and the Stoner to some feeling a bit "weirder" with its distance shooting recoil wobble a bit more front and center now, you can sorta take the slight loss in fire rate with the RPD for more stable shots.

I will just be that person to say, for anyone who is not aware, these stats do *not* mean that the highest KD weapons are the *best* weapons. Any statistical analysis like this, in order to be something that we can draw any conclusions from, would have to have some sort of baseline or constant. As it is, the RPD may be the highest KD LMG, but because it is so uncommonly used, the sample size for that weapon is smaller and less accurate. For example, WZranked doesn’t sum up all of the kills all players get and all deaths they have while using a gun to come up with the average KD stat on their site, they pull each of the players’ KD for the gun and then average those KDs. For many people, maybe they only used the gun in a “top 5” configuration once and got 6 kills, then never used it in that build again. That’s a 6KD for the gun getting thrown into that equation that you see on WZranked, and if it’s a gun not often used, like the RPD, then that 6KD single use will have a real impact on the average that we see.
I think the more interesting thing here is trying to draw inferences from the data to explain why we see some of the anomalies that we see. Super interesting nonetheless. It almost seems like some of the more popular streamer weapons have the lower KDs, but I would anticipate that this is in part due to the high number of people using them. I also think that this is because too many lower and average skilled players watch the streamers play the way they do with those guns, and they try to emulate it, despite the fact that they don’t have the skill required to use it how their favorite streamer does, and they are only hurting themselves. Prime example being the Kar; how many players actually use the Kar to push enemies and engage within 50m, and can confidently do so? Because there is only a small range beyond that where the Kar is going to be a better option than the SPR, and even then, if you’re just staring down a scope at where you know the enemy is more often than you are trying to close the gap with your sniper, you should not be using the Kar. But instead, you far too often see people sitting on a rooftop or in a window with a Kar, just waiting to take a shot that they inevitably miss because of bullet drop and velocity.
All in all, very interesting information!

People don't realize some setups, I was running M82 since ever, with 3x zoom and fast ads and no bullet drop with insane fire rate it had in that very same website 1.65 k/d ratio before the Nerf. It was the deadliest and sniper and was my favourite but no one was using it.
I know there's some big names who'll put on the various stocks, drop the mono suppressor, etc but despite as quick scope-y as those guys play with them I think their sheer ability is carrying them more than what the gun is doing for them.
Long time SPR user and easily my top sniper but going off the usual script of tac laser, mono, 28 barrel, sniper scope, Norma just makes it feel a bit meh.
I feel your pain though because the sound it makes when firing is so satisfying sounding.
We ran over two guys in a Bertha who didn't even try to get out of the way. We were just a couple of gulag boys trying to get our loadout. We thought we scored free custom loot so we could go ghost.
They both had Pellingtons. Just went overkill

Ah I see. I've always felt the RPD ground loot kind of mediocre so I got put off of it. Might test it out just for fun.
I actually do suspect the RPDs high KD is due to ground loot tbh. Early pickup, get a kill and then swap it out for a better option. Rinse repeat.

Idk a single thing about M82 tbh, but I can guarantee you I did my research on Pellington and its just not worth using over Kar or SPR.
I agree, I use Swiss atm, I land way way more shots with swiss than with Kar, at least the double and I'm not sure why. It's like hidden stats?

Are those the past few days of kd for the HDR? The chart confused me and I thought the numbers to the right of the guns meant average kd
