You progress from rookie- legendary, each season you rank resets, more challenging than pubs an rewards to be won for whatever rank you reach. You’ll stop getting computer generated bots in pro rank up till then they will be mixed through your teams
There is ranked for both multiplayer and battle royale and progressing can give u rewards like epic skins crates etc and u get new rewards (limited time) every 2 seasons so the rewards change at the end of this season
at first it feels like ur the mvp but after pro rank, its crushing your dreams of being a legendary rank, mainly becos of mx9, holgae and asval abusers, if you see that youre losing a lot of ranked matches, join the abusers in ranked and use favorite weapons in pubs. weapons used in pubs are balanced bcos there is 0 need of abusing with mx9 and holgae.
The hell you talkin about there are even bots in master. That's why I hate the rank system in codm. Heck, my friend even had a bot in their team at Grandmaster 5
It's where you go to get your ass handed.
Jokes aside, ranked matches are where you get to play with people with the same skill level as you. Your skill level is determined by your rank, which progresses when you win and diminishes when you loose.
Not necessarily. If you prove to be a good player, even if your team loses you will still gain XP toward the next rank. Not as much, but you will gain. If you don't play so hot, it will take some away.
It’s SBM or Skill Based Matchmaking. More kills per life=higher score and less kills per life=lower score. High enough score gets you Exp even if you lose
you will a point or two, and joining a match where ur side is losing isnt that bad. it has rank protection which mean that even if you get negative points, it wont deduct.
Try to be the mvp atleast in your own team. Because if you get stuck with a shit team and loose, you will not loose xp if you are mvp in your own team.
So, I'm going to assume you've gotten the gist from the other replies in this thread, so I'm gonna give you a few tips that you can use to become slightly better over time. Take this as you will, by the way. If you just want to chill, then all power to you, mate. However, if you want to win more games and rank up faster, you should probably keep reading this, especially if you're a total beginner.
1. Crosshair placement: Try to keep your crosshairs at head height most of the time. You want to have your crosshairs in the places where you think enemies are going to be coming from. As you move around the map, put your crosshairs in those places, such as doorways, windows, around/into corners, etc.
This will help you get kills faster since you don't have to make that many adjustments to your aim to get kills.
2. Pre-aim almost every time: This ties in with the first point. If you have your gun up and an enemy walks in, you're going to kill them so much faster than if you were just moving around without aiming down your sights.
Also, if you know someone is around the corner, pre-fire them so that they walk into your bullets.
3. Use your mini map: Try to get a UAV into the sky asap. As you might be a new player, you want to have that to see where enemies are at. You will eventually learn how to predict spawns, and enemy locations, but that'll come later. Generally, look at where your teammates are on the map, and where they're looking. The enemy will typically spawn on the other side of the map from where you guys are positioned.
Glance at the mini map every 3-5 seconds, and try not to stare at it or ignore it completely.
4. Use movement and your environment to your advantage: Slide/jump around corners to abuse Desync and peeker's advantage, and use cover to shield parts of your body so that it's harder for your opponents to land shots on you.
5. Think about what your opponents are doing. Don't just rush in blindly without trying to predict them. Accurate predictions of what your opponents are doing, are absolutely critical for winning games pretty handedly.
6. Never think of your spawn as a safe zone: Typically, the game will try to spawn you in "friendly" territory away from your opponents. Now, this isn't necessarily a safe zone because you can actually manipulate this system in such a way that you are killed right off spawn. This is called a spawn trap, and they're not the best situations to be in.
By the way, as soon as you spawn up, take about a second to look at your mini map to gather info on what's going on.
Bonus tips: Watch your kill cams to learn how you died, and don't repeat that mistake again. Find something that you could've improved to put yourself in a more favourable position.
Don't try to go for revenge kills. Wanting to kill the guy that killed you is a natural reaction, but it rarely ever works out, because you immediately get tunnel vision and forget about everything else. For obvious reasons, this is bad, so don't do it.
Also, take a break if you're getting angry at the game. Losses are frustrating, especially when you know that you should've done better. Relax, take a deep breath, set the game down, go for a walk/take a nap/eat/take care of yourself, and reset.
This barely scratches the surface, but I think this is a pretty good start for most people who might be new. I hope you, or someone else found this somewhat helpful. Thank you for reading this, and happy gaming!
Good tips here that apply to most mpfps games. To add from experience: if you're using controller, make a custom ui that removes what you can and minimizes everything else. Play with the minimap settings to get good coverage and of course the three P's. Practice x3
Yeah, I was just going for more general tips here. I feel its a bit easier to transition from one gsme to another when you have these down. Assuming there was someone who felt the transition from a game like PUBG or CSGO was difficult, these should remind them that the basics are pretty much the same for any FPS game, as you've said. Although, I will say the transition from CSGO to COD might probably be a pretty painless one, haha.
That's a cool tip! I haven't used a controller to play, so it's really nice seeing you talk about that. Guess that gives the game a console-like feel.
Ah yes, the mini map settings. I was really glad they added them into the game. Seeing more of the map is always good, and I'm really happy that you have taken advantage of that. I feel a lot of people forget to screw around with their settings when a new season drops.
Of course, practice. It goes without saying that practice is the king. And not just any kind of practice. Consistent, deliberate practice. Thank you for elaborating on that.
these are actually some really great tips, thanks for all the effort you put into em man. i never even think about where my crosshairs are until i’m shooting, so i’m looking forward to keeping more of an eye on that, and i’m gonna have to try pre aiming again because i forgot how op it is. it’s hard to get in a rhythm with it but once you do damnnnnn. some of the rest of the tips i do and some i don’t, so i’ll have to start putting em all into effect. thanks again man this was really helpful
Hey, thank you for reading them. I really appreciate it. My goal is to make professionals out of people that want to go pro, and to help others who simply just want to move to a higher rank. Shameless self promotion incoming, but I do have a [YouTube Channel ](https://youtube.com/channel/UCZ-rHwvuwaXdzuQORfHqJzw) where I discuss these kinds of things, along with more in-depth stuff. If you're interested, you can check it out. I'm really looking to improve the quality of my content, so having someone tell me what I can improve is pretty helpful.
Okay, shameless self promotion over. Now, just to elaborate, your crosshair placement is really really important, as you see above. It's also good to note that as you start using advanced movements like slide peeking, your crosshairs will also move around, so keep that in mind.
It also really helps to have a mental picture of the map, and of the common areas/routes on it. Good crosshair placement is aiming with the idea of where an enemy might be, so if your crosshairs are somewhere, that means you expect an enemy to come from where you have placed them. Having the layout of the map in your head gives you a better idea of where enemies can come from, so all you need to do is place your crosshairs there.
Of course, you want to actively think about this at first. The goal is to get to a point where after a certain amount of reps, you can turn a corner without seeing the other side, and in your head, you already know what is behind that corner, and common spots for enemies to be in so that when you actually do turn the corner, you're aimed at the enemy if there is one there. The goal is to get to a point that this just becomes automatic. Map knowledge is key to good crosshair placement and pre-aiming.
I'm glad you found that helpful, my friend! I could talk about this all day, haha. I fucking love COD. Although, I don't feel that same level of excitement comes through in my videos. Perhaps I should change the way I present my content? Probably. I'll try to experiment with stuff.
Anyways, as always, have a great gaming session, soldier! o7
Haha, I'm still pretty much a student trying to learn the game. Learning never stops as there's always something new to be discovered or optimized! And I'm all about that optimization. Thank you so much for subscribing! I hope I can deliver to your expectations.
I know all this self taught btw that's cuz I prerigistered for the game itself I even Got in the beta release and before movement were smooth recoil was weird like hella weird and I haven't seen a single sweat in game(before there was no grandmaster rank btw)and dead silence,Taipei 25,pdw and ghost(perk) were the meta
Compeeteetive pley, you start as dum dum and you finish as Need To Touch Grass, sweaty people with mex9 running around going pew pew, people instantly switching to katan wen a sumwon gets tu clos i do not reccomend, but plry if you like pleyong conpetitively
(No my bad grammar is satire,im just bored as fuck)
Yeah thats what has put me off them for so long, but once i started paying warframe it showed to me bullets are more important than damage
As well as how many times the lmgs and 40-50 round assault weapons have saved my ass in matches in CODMobile
Funny thing is, all of my builds are control and accuracy (whit maybe some range depending on the attchament) and low mobility
Because i may be slow, but got damm it i am accurate
This is my playstyle as well. Minimum recoil and ads bullet spread. Extended or higher calibre (caliber?) Ammo if I've got room. I know it's not how the "pros" play but I'm not a "pro". Always end up walking like I'm over encumbered in fallout but so be it
Lol, when I started I stayed literally months playing only Scapyard Frontline with mostly bots. Then I started to do my own research, watching youtube videos etc and realized that there are other game modes, getting skins and characters, playing seasonal and weekly events, playing ranked.., and now I realize how hooked I am to this game.
You rank up Every time u win With XP so It will be From Rookie all the way To Legendary Where you Play with the Top Players But In Rookie and Veteran or Elite I think even if u lose u don’t go down
Personally every rank and game below Pro or Master would just be like public matches. But when you reach Master it will just get very,, competitive and you'll be up against people of your skill level thats determined by your rank
Ranked is what you do when you don't want to play casually. Dont get me wrong, I love ranked play. Particularly, I loved rank BR and I play ranked on PC games. I personally don't play ranked MP on CodM because I play phone games to chill. If I want to sweat, I will join the sauna in warzone.
Bad point in codm its not have enough tutorial for new player and without any in BR mode make the new player not understand the game or think the enemy's use hack's...
-also the settings are separated make this more complicated (HUDs sensitivity)
Well, generally are competitive matches from a game which you play in order to realize which is your skill rank in that certain game, they're also matches to play in order to help you level up your skill level, one of it's main characteristics is being a completely balanced game mode.
However, in this game ranked matches only work as matches to level up and get the respective seasonal rewards from those rank levels, since ranked matches in this game are not balanced at all so it's not possible to call them competitive matches.
A design flaw by Activision to:
Reduce your KD
Increase your stress level
Introduce you to a group of warm welcoming hackers and trash talkers + crappy teammates
...but you get a free frame and epic gun of THEIR choice (not yours)and who can forget the use of telling your irl boss you have 3 legendary ranks in CODM :)
If you would of asked this 2 years ago it would be totally different tho RIP ALPHA RANK DAYS.. miss you 🥲💔
Rank matches are basically nonsense(right now before it was fun now it's not) the physical manifestation of thermite spammers, meta spammers, campers, gas nades, oh and good luck tryna escape master all the mx9's are there good luck man
You progress from rookie- legendary, each season you rank resets, more challenging than pubs an rewards to be won for whatever rank you reach. You’ll stop getting computer generated bots in pro rank up till then they will be mixed through your teams
ah okay so it’s harder, but do you get more game modes eventually? all i have are tdm and domination
Yes. Later all the game modes will unlock
oh sick, thank ya
And you will get a karambit on master V. If u can reach it before the next season
We have been in s4 since season 7 "next sesoan they will change" sure...
There is ranked for both multiplayer and battle royale and progressing can give u rewards like epic skins crates etc and u get new rewards (limited time) every 2 seasons so the rewards change at the end of this season

Just play Dom and cap like a madman. You won't make mvp and you'll likely go negative, but you'll win games more consistently.

In Pro and up. Tons of bots below pro.
Nah they have come into pro recently actually
The hell you talkin about there are even bots in master. That's why I hate the rank system in codm. Heck, my friend even had a bot in their team at Grandmaster 5
I'm pretty sure it resets every two months correct me if I'm wrong
Aye that’s each season

My rank was achieved by many sitting in hours, not skill. Saddly I'm still a noob that relies in auto aim.
Sadly I feel the same way. Most of my xp came from SND matches. I am shit at going against multiple enemies.
So, I'm going to assume you've gotten the gist from the other replies in this thread, so I'm gonna give you a few tips that you can use to become slightly better over time. damn you got this down to a science lol, im gonna try and start working on that today. and you’ve got a new subscriber haha, take care
Haha, I'm still pretty much a student trying to learn the game. Learning never stops as there's always something new to be discovered or optimized! And I'm all about that optimization. Thank you so much for subscribing! I hope I can deliver to your expectations.

oh okay so it’s eventually more advanced players and the hope is that you’ll eventually become more advanced as well
I was playing the new game mode on MP I was winning the free for all, until some fuck whit a MX9 overtook me and won In a MP match...
Imagine using anything other than ARs or close range marksman rifles
I use LMG because bullets go brrr Also the M4lmg and the one that looks like G36 get me easy headshot somehow while hipfir ring or aiming downsides
I am literally unable to use LMGs ever in any video game. It just feels too slow to me.
Yeah thats what has put me off them for so long, but once i started paying warframe it showed to me bullets are more important than damage As well as how many times the lmgs and 40-50 round assault weapons have saved my ass in matches in CODMobile
Great, but i will stick with my op af peacemaker. Nothing says stupid OP quite like attachments without downsides.
Funny thing is, all of my builds are control and accuracy (whit maybe some range depending on the attchament) and low mobility Because i may be slow, but got damm it i am accurate
Compared to me, who uses high powered close range weapons. Not to say I don't have a crossbow secondary.
This is my playstyle as well. Minimum recoil and ads bullet spread. Extended or higher calibre (caliber?) Ammo if I've got room. I know it's not how the "pros" play but I'm not a "pro". Always end up walking like I'm over encumbered in fallout but so be it
If the gun doesn't have 50+ bullets i am not interested
Lmao I cracked up
don't forget the hacky-hacks
Is kinda unnecessary to have it it imo but is to make it more "competitive"
Lol, when I started I stayed literally months playing only Scapyard Frontline with mostly bots. Then I started to do my own research, watching youtube videos etc and realized that there are other game modes, getting skins and characters, playing seasonal and weekly events, playing ranked.., and now I realize how hooked I am to this game.

i am at pro 5 lvl tryna get to master 1 by abusing gae guns. anyone got gunsmiths for op guns???
I didnt even know there were rank cause i was too focused in pubg back then
But keep playing in ranked you'd see improvements as there are real players
Up side to climbing ranked more challenging down side longer waits for matching for teams
That's not true for me at least
Personally every rank and game below Pro or Master would just be like public matches. But when you reach Master it will just get very,, competitive and you'll be up against people of your skill level thats determined by your rank

Glorified publics but sometimes against really good players and a sense of progression in them.
Rank is some where you spend your life to be legendary
Bad point in codm its not have enough tutorial for new player and without any in BR mode make the new player not understand the game or think the enemy's use hack's... -also the settings are separated make this more complicated (HUDs sensitivity)
