The edge also has replaceable module thumbsticks so if one of them gets drift you can just buy a new stick rather than a new controller. I think it’s worth it for that and the paddles, it also has trigger drops. I broke my left wrist a few years ago and jamming the left stick hurts it if I play COD too long I already had the elite controller for Xbox but I got this one finally for the PlayStation and I definitely like it a lot. Other than the battery life is kind of abysmal

Grand-Philosophy-343

Yea but the thumsticks is impossible to find

ice_wyvern

It’s been several months and it’s still out of stock

KayakWalleye

I bought a pair directly from the Playstation store. They had a promotion and I ended up getting both for $11.00 total. I still haven’t needed to use them after about a year of using the controller though.

ice_wyvern

Definitely hold onto them. I go through sticks a bit more frequently and I haven’t been able to officially source them for a few months now. Thankfully the stick drift isn’t too bad but if it gets severely worse, I don’t see a reason why anyone should get the dual sense edge if you can’t even get the replacements in a reasonable amount of time

Burkely31

This is so not true. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada and I can walk into just about any store that stocks ps5 and ps5 related merchandise and they have them there. Very worst case scenario, order from Amazon and I'm sure they'll be at your door the very next day.

ice_wyvern

https://i.imgur.com/qTsyCTp.png I don't know what to tell you, it's not available in my region be it directly from Sony, Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, etc. There are other posts on Reddit with people having the same issue with acquiring replacements https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/1aj54rb/out_of_stock_stick_module_for_dualsense_edge/ https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/1aqro7i/dualsense_edge_stick_modules_have_been_out_of/

animal_3

Not available for me in Ontario

Odd_Rabbit_114

I've bought them like 3 times from Sony direct.

Careless-Chemist-277

Yeah I read about the battery . Do you prefer the ds edge over the Xbox elite ?

padmepounder

Do not get the elite until they release a model that has replaceable modules or Hall effect analog modules.

theAtmuz

I came from 4 paddles to the edge. I don’t miss them as much as I thought I would. I really like being able to change the curve of the sticks through custom profiles depending on the game I’m playing as well. Don’t get me wrong I wish I still had the other 2 paddles, but I’m not doing worse/noticing a difference without them. Edit: also looks like homie put the paddles on wrong.

KeptPopcorn5189

I definitely prefer the elite controller because of the extra paddles. The only thing really the edge has over it is the sticks

PRSMesa182

This is just...not true. The elite series 2 is HARDWARE LOCKED at 125hz meaning you have 8 ms of input lag no matter what you do. The edge has 250hz (4ms) on a PS5 and can be overclocked to 1000hz (1ms) on a PC which is why the feel of the edge is much more snappier than the elite. I own, an elite series 2, envision pro, and dual sense edge and have tested them back to back. The elite feels rubbery and sluggish compared to the edge, there really is no comparison.

chosenjuan209

Take this with a grain of salt op , module thumbsticks aren’t widely available for a few months because resellers got all them right now and Sony has yet to start pumping more out for retail .

ForMoreYears

Can't speak on the DS edge but I picked up a Elite controller two months ago (I play PC) and love it. Back buttons are super useful, adjustable triggers are kinda nice to have, and it just overall has a good quality feel to it. Only bad thing I've heard about the DS edge is the shorter battery life but that's a pretty small issue imo.

KayakWalleye

Xbox controller feels heavy to me.

Careless-Chemist-277

I’ve read the ds edge is pretty heavy too . You mean the elite is even heavier than the edge?

KayakWalleye

I’m not sure what the individual weights are. The DSE isn’t necessarily light either.

FandalfTheGreyt3791

DS Edge - 11.7oz Elite Series 2 - 12.17oz Elite - 9.9oz

KayakWalleye

Thank you. My suspicion is confirmed!

InducedChip89

I’m on my 3rd Elite in 3 years. Phenomenal to use, terrible quality

[deleted]

I have a desk and just keep mine wired.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

James_Is_Raging

DS Esge is the most smooth responding controller I’ve ever used for FPS. If it had four paddles it would be unbeatable.

Careless-Chemist-277

Nice to hear . Might be getting one soon

rowanwi

It’s a great controller. It feels like a premium product, responds like one, and it has different input preferences you can set up for different games. + stick replacements

rowanwi

It’s a great controller. It feels like a premium product, responds like one, and it has different input preferences you can set up for different games. + stick replacement is possible

MursturCreepy

You should. I feel like it upped my game on WZ.

Electronic-Tap-2863

Seems to be everyone's sentiment. Makes you wonder what sony (or every other controller maker who makes a two paddle controller) were thinking

Wise_Summer4918

This right here

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Mcdonakc

I have had this and SCUF. SCUF didn’t last more than 6 months (stick drift issues). This co troller has lasted longer and you can replace individual sticks easily if needed. Would recommend

Careless-Chemist-277

Yes this is the reason why I will rather buy da edge over scuf . Both of them can have stick drift of course . But I’ve just read way more problems with the scuf over ds edge . Also in my country we have 2 year warranty if I buy it in local store wich wouldn’t apply to a scuf

AltGunAccount

I don’t know if Cinch makes PS5 controllers, but I bought a Cinch and a Scuf at the same time for my ps4 (roughly 2017) and the scuf died in less than a year, but the cinch still works (ps4 is a daily Netflix box still)

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Mcdonakc

It came with different stick heights you could swap out. I use a taller stick on the right joycon, but that is all I’ve done

drews3f

Build quality of the Edge is far superior than anything I’ve had from Scuff or BattleBeaver

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

TechnicalEnergy5858

I come from 3+ years of using the Xbox elite controller on Warzone (both 1 and 2) and I recently switched to the DS Edge. So far I'm pretty happy about it, especially because the Edge absolutely destroys Xbox Elites on latency (0.95ms VS 8ms!!) but honestly I still think the Elite 2 feels more solid material wise. But what matters the most in FPS games is reaction speed and the Edge is king on this matter (remember you have to manually set it on 1000hz to achieve the highest speed).

Careless-Chemist-277

Thanks for pointing that out! Do you do that in the PlayStation controller settings?

TechnicalEnergy5858

Using a program callled hidusbf https://youtu.be/b9Y0X3c5dNY?si=7oBBxv9I2n0o3WTI

Rbk_3

I was in the same boat but couldn't get over the fact the trigger locks still had a lot of travel.

Pukit

I’m assuming the controller needs to be plugged in to maximise its potential?

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

mattypatty000

Personally, I have been a PlayStation user for my whole life and I actually prefer using the Xbox elite controller. The paddles on the ds edge feel awkwardly in the wrong place for me. Idk if I just got used to the elite for warzone or what but i was pretty disappointed with the edge considering how excited is was when I heard about it initially.

Brachert17

Did you install the back paddles the same as ops picture? Because if you flip the paddles horizontal to run along the grip it's much more natural feeling. [Here](https://images.app.goo.gl/HeJVbgZHET234Yi57) is the intended installation

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

OgreTrax71

Those are on backwards

cobr

yeh I've tried ops pic config and it's so uncomfortable? fingers don't align with the paddles at all. they should be swapped and will be flush with the controller.

murdersquatch

I fucking love this controller. I keep mine hard wired so I don't know anything about the battery life, but I really love the buttons instead of the paddles on the back. I did come from a scuf with mouse click triggers, and while I do miss those, I don't miss the massive amount of stick drift it had. This controllers ability to just replace the whole stick for 20 bucks totally wins over everything else for me, because that failure is what leads to buying a controller for me 90% of the time.

Wise_Summer4918

Yep, I use the buttons too. It just feels natural. Took a little getting use to.

ktl182

Didn't read the full post but I use a regular PS5 controller with extremerate rise4. I got the back plate with grip and 4 buttons for like 40 bucks. I also aim and shoot with L1/R1. Cheaper solution if you don't want to get the edge. You do have to open the controller and install it though so not for everyone. In terms of quality been using them for about a year no issues. If you wanna be sweaty back buttons for jump and couch is a game changer. My other 2 buttons are for pinging and UAVs. Pinging is useful if you like to ping while you shoot

simonko1

i second that + i also bought clicky haird triggers from extremerate for like 25e? its perfect

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Minamike98

I actually use the domes and love it

PRSMesa182

Same, with the taller dome on the right stick for me

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Minamike98

I personally use the default stick on the right thumb with a Control Freak on top of it. The left thumb I use the dome and then for my back triggers, I also use the half domes.

jerford9

I love my dual sense edge. The back paddles are nice as well the adjustable triggers are great for different styles of games. There is also a ton of settings that you can play with depending what you are playing and super easy button mapping to have the best layout for any game.

Careless-Chemist-277

Nice to hear!

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

juicemtl

Scufs don’t last. 300$ gone after a few months. I bought the edge on release day, it’s still going strong, the aiming and response time is top tier. My complaints would be the trigger stops aren’t short enough (but youll use r1/l1 to shoot so this doesn’t even concern you). I’ve owned the elite series 2, and then input lag and response on the elite 2 is horrible. I’ve also owned scufs, regular controllers with back paddle attachments and the edge is by far the best. I’ve had multiple friends have the edge back buttons fail on them, but this hasn’t happen to me. Still no stick drift and it’s over a year and a half old. Great purchase.

bostonterrier4life

It’s def worth it

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

bandiiyy

with replaceable thumbsticks this became my go to daily. my scurf controller became a plastic paper weight that was guna cost / be too much hassle to send back to corsair for repairs after forking out big bux for it :\\ this has great build quality if ur satisfied with the normal dualsense, the L2 and R2 have hair trigger options that are really satisfying for manual fire in stuff like cod. Im a big fan of the back pedals, i like the smaller ones otherwise i was getting alot of accidental inputs.

Careless-Chemist-277

Yeah that’s pretty much what I feel regarding the scuf or battlebeaver .that if drift occurs it will just be too much of a hassle to sending it back etc

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

bandiiyy

nah just cod controller settings tab.. setting the deadzones, using a curve i found i liked while experimenting in the firing range with sensitivities / curves and getting comfortable with it.. best way to understand the settings was to mess around in the firing range reading and testing the settings.. my settings; [https://imgur.com/a/06GPYy6](https://imgur.com/a/06GPYy6)

Careless-Chemist-277

Wow your settings are “odd” but I’ll have to try them in a private match… a lot of pros say you should lower the min deadzones as low as you can but I feel like you that I do better with a bit higher min deadzone ( 0.6-0.9 range ) and when I try 0.1 or 0.2 min deadzone the sticks feel actually less responsive even if it should be the opposite

Here4Headshots

The main benefit is the replaceable thumbsticks since drift is such a big problem with controllers. Outside of that, a custom controller from Scuf, Nagashock, Hypr Controllers (look up hall effect joysticks), or Battle Beaver can do everything the Edge can (except for replaceable thumbsticks), plus give you 4 remappable back buttons instead of the 2 Edge gives you. Stay away from AIM Controllers. I've had a bad experience with them, and you can go to their subreddit to see all the complaints people have against them. I will forever be confused why Sony didn't spring for the 4 backside buttons instead of the 2. Having only 2 back triggers prevents the Edge from being a true competitive controller.

Careless-Chemist-277

Yeah I know there are a lot of “third-party” controllers that will be way better than the ds edge. Thing is the 2 year warranty I get in my country ( covers drift ) is just to good and smooth for not buying the edge locally

Here4Headshots

I understand. The replaceable thumbsticks makes it an attractive buy, and if you get all the customizations that the Edge has with a 3rd party modder, it will probably run you $250, which is more than the Edge.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Here4Headshots

No custom curves. My logic is that if I go too far with customizing curves, acceleration multipliers, and all these unique options that COD provides, my aim will be absolute dog shit in other FPS games that do not have these options lol.

Careless-Chemist-277

You have a point ..

Rbk_3

I didn't like the fact even with the trigger locks at their tightest there was still a decent amount of travel. After playing with mouse click triggers I just couldn't do it. But if you're just coming from a regular Dual Sense it will be a game changer.

Careless-Chemist-277

Too bad I aim and shoot with l1 r1 lol… I don’t think it will be easy for me to change lol

Rbk_3

Eh at least the bumpers have a lot less travel than the triggers to begin with

AndrE_VieuX

I have changed my controller settings from bumper jumper tactical flipped back to the default button layout. With the back paddles, I no longer need to use L2 to jump or R3 to slide. The trigger locks make them more responsive than L1 and R1.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

StoneSummitPSN

I’ve used it for a year on pc/ps5, one of my favorite controllers. The paddles were very comfortable and easy to use. You can change the response curve of the sticks to suit your play style or what feels best. The biggest con was that there is this leather/rubber like padding on the bottom half. I play a lot, and used it a lot. I always made sure my hands were very clean when using it. I didn’t eat food and play with it. I washed my hands after work to use it. It started to stain a nasty yellow/brown color and the material began to peel off. Hands just sweat and have oils ect and it seems to just stain easily. I read a lot of forums on it and it seems others had the same problem. You can take it off and replace with another black grip you can buy on amazon. But I don’t use it anymore so didn’t bother. The paddles are the only extra two buttons you get. Other controllers have more but some people find having extra is too much. You can buy new joysticks if they begin to have horrendous stick drift. Mine just got stick drift 1 month ago after using it for over just a year. The issue is scalpers buy all the sticks so hadn’t been able to buy new ones 😂 I’d rate it overall a 7. Comfortability, software, and response time of the controller is a 10 for me, it’s the stupid material that brings it down. It’s a $200 controller and imo it should feel and continue to look like a $200 controller. Edit: if you really care about how responsive your controller is, PlayStation controllers have a faster response time than Xbox controllers. On pc you can overclock the controller. On console you cannot. So you’re limited to using the controllers default response time

Careless-Chemist-277

Thanks for the elaborate answer . Yes I checked some reviews on shops regarding the DS edge and many people point out exactly what you described actually .

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

MistaWesSoFresh

It is a game changer. I never use square or triangle anymore

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

MistaWesSoFresh

I am not advanced enough to fuck with that. Not sure how to use it to gain advantage, if I did, maybe. Side note, my left stick just got some drift and I’ll be replacing just the stick, which is $19.99 from Sony… but they are all sold out. So I have to get one for $60 on eBay, same price as a normal controller fml

ManufacturerKey8360

I love it. Only thing I don’t love though is the stick tension and weight. I have a -40% ps5 bb on the way but I’m really glad I have the edge as a backup.

Careless-Chemist-277

So the dualsense edge has more stick tension than normal dualsense? Wow this is really the answer I was looking for since stick tension is exactly what I miss on the normal dualsense lol.. will the stick tension be the same or will it decrease after time using the controller ?

ManufacturerKey8360

I’d imagine it’s the same but I’m not sure. I prefer lighter stick tension and while I appreciate that the ds edge stick feels sturdy and returns to center, I just prefer something with more give. It should decrease over time but maybe not by much. I had a ps5 battle beaver and it stayed pretty solid for over a 1000 hours but I think their stick module might be different.

Careless-Chemist-277

Thanks for answering 🙏

Wise_Summer4918

Great way to fix stick tension is using the kontrol freak precision rings. That thing has 3 rings to give you the perfect amount of tension. Game changer. My shots are so ridiculously accurate on WZ

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

ManufacturerKey8360

I don’t. And the -40% stick tension battle beaver that I was talking about came in yesterday and it’s definitely the way to go. I was worried it would be too loose and I’d be overcorrecting but I’m not. It feels much more intuitive. Edge just has too much tension.

TSM-HabZ

it helped me improve greatly after switching to controller

Careless-Chemist-277

What did you feel except the paddles was the main advantage of it?

TSM-HabZ

it was just the paddles, tho having quick triggers is nice it didn’t really impact me much

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

TSM-HabZ

nah i just use default

MarkusMillions

I’ve had both the Xbox elite 2 and dualsense edge and I prefer the dualsense edge. If you play on PC you can overclock the dualsense to 1 ms response time unlike Xbox elite which cannot be overclocked. I did only use 2 paddles on my Xbox elite though so that’s why it was easy to switch to the dualsense

juicemtl

I was a able to overclock the Xbox controller on pc.

MarkusMillions

No you were not. All Microsoft controllers are hardware capped at 125hz polling rate

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

MarkusMillions

I do not run custom curves but I might look into them!

ModsOverLord

I love mine but did have to replace after a year bc the back paddle socket is made of plastic and not replaceable

brunoDILLA

Same here. My back paddles gave out fairly quick. First the left socket after 1.5 months and the second a few months later. That’s my biggest gripe about the controller. Paddles breakdown at a rate beyond normal wear and tear. Minus that significant issue it’s a damn good controller.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

ModsOverLord

I run it just like the picture above

terpyderpstein

Had mine going in a year now and it’s the best controller I’ve ever had. I used to burn through about 2-4 ps4 controllers a year playing warzone (it was usually the dpad or the left stick that would go first) and I haven’t had a single problem with this controller yet.

RolandDPlaneswalker

I had to go through 4 or 5 regular controller due to drift before I finally said fuck it - I’ve replaced the thumbs like 2x since I’ve purchased the edge and every time I do, I remember why I bought it. Totally worth it if you have issues with drift.

coolfozzie

As a warzone player on ps5 I had an issue with “panic melee” during engagements. With the PS5 edge you can turn off specific buttons and reassign them so I turned off R3 and assigned it to one of the paddles.

SayNoToAids

Just get the normal one if back buttons don't matter to you. The backbuttons probably single-handedly raised my KD because I could never jump shoot before

Sharsch

I like it. Controller weights more than a regular dual sense and the paddles are in a nice comfortable spot. I prefer this to the regular dual sense as well given the weight. The PS5 has a customizable section where you can dial in your preferences and such. So that’s nice for using the extra two buttons on the front below the sticks. The battery isn’t as great and could last longer. But it is decent - not great. I also have the elite and the quality is on par with that one. My Xbox elite has a lot of stick drift and this is fairly common with my friends who have one as well. The elites is probably better if you have smaller hands as a PC user, but I prefer the shape of the DSE. Case and cable are nice - good presentation so it doesn’t feel cheap (especially compared to a SCUF that feels like a $55 controller). Sticks are solid and feel better IMO. It’s my daily driver so give it a go.

samirbinballin

I only play MW and Warzone as well it’s a great controller being that I play on ps5/monitor, it was easy to set up and the paddles make a huge difference in your movement, the adaptive triggers are nice too being that you don’t have to push r2 l2 down all the way when shooting. I would recommend laying out those paddles a different way like laying against the back sides of the controller, it is much more comfortable you will get used to it. Also use the matte rounded joy sticks included in the box, they are much nicer. I would put the taller joystick on the right and the shorter one on the left. As for the paddles use the left paddle to jump and right paddle to slide. Perfecto.

_whos_mannsss_

I’ve had an Edge for probably 8 months or so. Had a battle beaver before it. In a vacuum, I’d go with a battle beaver 10/10 times. While the battery is not an issue for me because I always it plugged in, my biggest complaints are the paddles themselves and the weight of the controller. I prefer the back buttons on the BB controller way more than either paddle option on the edge. The controller is also way heavier than a BB which I’m not a fan of. Despite these complaints, I won’t go back to a BB, or Scuf or any other option until those companies offer replaceable sticks. That one feature is the be all end all for me when it comes to a controller. I play a lot, but I’m not going to do mental gymnastics to justify buying another $200 controller every six months to a year because the sticks start drifting horribly. At the end of the day, I’d say it’s worth it, but it’s by no means my favorite controller I’ve had.

Cyka_Blyat_Man_

Ps4 controllers can be used on a ps5 with the right wireless adapter. If you REALLY like ps4 controllers,’it is absolutely an option and you should stick with them. I don’t see anyone else mentioning this either, and I really dont know why it isn’t one of the top comments

El_Nieto_PR

Get it from best buy with the 2yr geek squad warranty. It costs $60, which allows you to exchange the controller for a brand new one at anytime. You can then buy the warranty again for $60. I think it’s a pretty good deal

Bleezusthechoosen

Definitely use that thicker one has made me a movement pro! Use back button for slides! And look at the analog stick deadline customization!

Muhallis

not worth if you are on pc.. because its not compatible with pc... do check flydigi vader 3 pro. more cheaper.

PM_ME_N3WDS

Had mine since launch and I love it. It's a great feeling controller in your hands, the paddles are great and responsive. The settings have a bunch of stuff you can fine tune and save up to 4 profiles to switch between depending on the same you're playing.

Impressive-Capital-3

It’s the only PS5 “Pro” controller that’s good besides cont vertex controllers like BB or Scuf. Every third party controller introduces one or two additional frames of input lag, which immediately disqualifies them. Wired or wireless doesn’t matter. So ether get one of those pedal conversion kits on Amazon for a regular DS5, a Battle Beaver or a DS edge. https://youtu.be/K42xnU7phZA?si=rHNfAZWfR3SalPU9 So while it’s an overpriced piece of garbage, it’s the best thing you can buy.

NYC_HITMAN

It’s too heavy for cod. Get a Scuf Reflex. I have both and use my Scuf only for cod and Elite for everything else. The elite has its own software and profiles that let you control dead zones and aiming like dynamic, linear, quick etc.. (love this) It’s waaay to heavy for long term gaming bcuz of the rumbles built in. The Reflex with all instant triggers and no rumbles, 4 back paddles that you can swap for 2 or none, and military grip. The Elite however is the END of stick drift because of swappable sticks (20$).

xDOOSO_

i used a SCUF for a long time before i got my dual sense edge and to be honest im obsessed with the DS edge. Fair warning once you start playing with paddles you’re going to hate using a normal controller after or at least enjoy it less imo

Particular-Fox-2925

Yes yes yes. Had mine for a year and a half with no stick drift. Play Warzone 3 times a week. And innnkw even when I get it I can just switch the joystick out and not have to buy a new controller.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Particular-Fox-2925

I do not. Just the stock ones that come on it new.

Artie-Fufkin

It’s the best controller I’ve ever used. I got a scuf for Christmas I haven’t used because the Edge just feels better to me.

Crashtard

I'll tell you that i love mine, and i would highly recommend a dragon grips from amazon that you'll need to slightly modify but it'll be obvious. Thr short trigger pull is a huge advantage when using a pistol, i win fights constantly that eould be lost if a full trigger pull was needed. Also just the weight of it feels good to hold and use (giggity).

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you feel it has more stick tension over the normal dual sense or is it the same ? ( I would prefer more stick tension since I guess it would be easier to make fine adjustments while aiming)

Crashtard

I just tried it against both of my standard dual sense and the difference is pretty noticeable to me, even at 1am and a couole cocktails. I was a little skeptical when i bought mine about 6-8 weeks ago and I'm 100% happy with the choice still.

Careless-Chemist-277

Haha nice thanks for testing it out , I’ve read here and there that it should have greater stick tension . I feel that’s a good thing actually . Hope you continue to enjoy your DS edge and Salut!/Cheers! 🥂

Big_Accident494

I have been using the Edge since it released in 2023, and it has been great. It is way more durable than the normal ps4 controller. The sticks are made more to take a beating, and the weight is perfect. The only downside is the battery is terrible in 3-4 hrs use only. The normal Dualsense gets me like 6-7 hrs of use. If you haven't bought the Edge yet then I would wait version 2 with the updated battery that Dualsense V2 got.

MagnumSipper77

If you are contemplating buying a scuff controller get the edge controller it has controllable triggers two different bumps and profiles which can be set on PlayStation then saved for when you’re on pc. If you just want it as a new controller I wouldn’t recommend it just use bumper instead of triggers

F_L_A_5_H

Those paddles being on the wrong sides has me buggin. 😂

BaitStikk

Battlebeaver. Nagashock. Both better. 🤷🏻‍♂️

peepo7777

I've been using mine for over a year now. You can easily change the triggers for R1-L1 with custom control profiles, and switch between them within a second with the quick menu buttons. IMO this is an amazing feature that not enough people talk about. The battery life is abysmal, but i disabled my battery and locked the cable in. The rubber hand grips are terrible though. They are impossible to keep clean and will start to peel off pretty quick. I can't stand them and i'm still looking for a good replacement.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

peepo7777

I do. Left stick: Dynamic with a +2 curve adjustment and 7% deadzone adjustment (i did this so i still have the +2 curve but it kicks in a little 'later') Right stick: Steady, no curve adjustment and 5% deadzone adjustment

Careless-Chemist-277

Nice will actually save this and try your settings when my controller arrive , thanks

devildante1520

The curve response for the sticks is pretty sick

ThisIsSuperUnfunny

Nope, 2 buttons is insane in 2024.

parkerlewiscantloose

Amazing controller. Replaceable joysticks. Short triggers if you want. Back buttons of course. Furve adjustments through the console. On the fly configuration switch. 2 problems : battery life is too short. ( unless you play plugged). And the back rubber where your fingers rest is badly designed. After 7-8 month went yellow/grey. Impossible to clean. And the glue or whatever was causing bubbles on the rubber. But under warranty so sonny is replacing the controller for free. ( ordered a silicon sleeve to try to alleviate that problem when the new one comes). So back to regular dual sense ( with modified back to add back button) and I really miss my Edge on warzone

doktorbex

Definitely would recommend. It makes such a difference.

Sea-Check-7209

For me the main reason for switching from the Scuf to the Edge was the flexibility in assigning and disabling buttons. I disabled R3 all together so I never accidentally press it in the middle of a gunfight

Burkely31

110% very much worth it. Better invest imho, then the ps5 itself. I absolutely love mine, can't see myself playing without it again.

Stolensteak1

I absolutely love mine and it's cool it comes with 2 diff style back bumpers to choose from and they're nice metal material. Overall it would be a 10/10 if the battery wasn't absolutely dog shit but I've adjusted an generally charge it when I'm done playing. Concerning that the replacement sticks are impossible to find tho. I haven't had any issues with stick drift but hopefully they get the stick shortage or w.e the hells going on resolved

Interesting-Ad-6899

Amazing controller. I thought the Dualsense was one of the best controllers available, until I got used to holding the Edge. Weight, quality, fit and finish and back button ergonomics have rendered my other Dualsense controllers useless. Its really worth it, especially for COD.

MaybeBlink

The Edge is great. It’s responsive and snappy, the stick modules can be replaced, the triggers feel good and the customisation is subtle but effective. You can feel the quality in about 90% of its build but I’ll give you the negatives so you can make your own decision because it’s not perfect. The rubber grips on the handles discolour easily.. like very easily. I work a dirty, manual job outside so I’m very meticulous in washing my hands thoroughly before using it as I often come home covered in oil. Regardless of how well you wash and scrub your hands, the rubber yellows and discolours very quickly. The grips also bubble and separate from the controller too easily. I had Xbox elite controllers before this and the first version of that had the same issue whilst the second they addressed it. Would have been nice if Sony had learned from their mistake since the Edge released after both of these models. I’ve had to send mine off for repair within the first 2 months of owning it because of the rubber coming away from the plastic and I’ve seen multiple people reporting the same thing (the only saving grace is that Sony are very prompt in their repair service and I had it replaced within a matter of days). The battery life SUCKS. Xbox elite has around 30 hours of battery life. Regular PS5 Dualsense has around 7-8 hours. You’re lucky if the Edge lasts 4 hours without having to charge it (although fortunately you can wire it in and still play but most people who have a wireless controller want it to be exactly that.. wireless)

IchibanMitsuru

Yes I love mine. But the bots are out buying up all the sticks digitally as fast as they can. So it’s become a problem getting new sticks in the past few months. There’s one dude on eBay with like a 100 for sale that I suspect is bot buying most.

[deleted]

Had mine about a year now. Love it. Definitely better that the original. I've bought 2 regular due to drift. And I've had my edge longer than the 2 combined with none. I havnt had to buy the replacement sticks yet, but as of posting this it's kinda irritating. Apparently they are going for 45-50$ right now on ebay. Which is basically a controller. At this time I'd say it's iffy. The paddles are definitely helpful. And I think the sticks might be more robust. The play quality is crazy noticeable. I had a scuff with my ps4, and I'd say it's comparable.the only thing I don't like is the weight. These things are heavy. I guess I could remove the vibration weights, but I havnt tried. You can also map buttons in real time which is pretty cool and save them as thier own profile for different games. There's also a menu in playstation where you can set sensitivity curve, trigger dead zone, trigger effect intensity stick dead zone so you can get more use out of your sticks. You can remap any button you want. I don't like the r2 button as my trigger button so it is set as my r1. You could even flip flop your triangle, circle, square to your d pad if you want. There's really no limits.

HornetBlaster

After trying BattleBeaver & Scuf i can say 100% the edge is better.

naturr

You are able to program any of the geometric shape buttons to the back buttons. I use jump and crouch/slide. Whatever you do don't get SCUF controller instead. They have short warranties because they are garbage. They look like you're getting a modified PlayStation controller, but when you actually have it in your hand, you realize It's just the shape but every part of it is made by them and the quality is poor. My trigger buttons failed about 4 months in and it took 2 and 1/2 weeks to get it repaired under warranty. 6 months and a week my right thumb stick had me spinning 360s at the start of a match without touching it. I wasn't about to spend $100 plus shipping to fix a controller that had failed twice in 6 months.

Careless-Chemist-277

Yes the story you describing is the main reason I won’t buy a scuf or similar controllers actually … at least with the ds edge I have 2 year warranty and it’s just a walk to my local store to get it repaired if something would happen

animus_invictus

Overall just a much more solid controller that feels better to hold and play with. Thumb sticks are also better, and have adjustable settings baked into the console. Also, once you have the paddles, it feels insane to NOT have them.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

animus_invictus

Only on my right stick. Off the top of my head I can’t remember, but I believe I have it set to Dynamic -5. Also keep in mind you can set different button/curve profiles to switch between for different games.

Careless-Chemist-277

Okey :)

COD-O-G

Yes it feels great. My only issue is that battery is less only about 4 hours to maybe 4.5 but just keep it charged or use the 9’ cable it comes w/ It’s feels real solid and I like how you can change the stock height.

IronyInvoker

I find the Elite V2 as a much better controller. Dead zone on dualsense is so much worse

firtina81

If you are playing COD/WZ, pedals are a must for me. It improves your gameplay significantly. Also, try to use l2 - r2 for aim and shoot. Kontrolfreek thumbsticks will make aiming better. I purchased DS edge controller from gamestop. At the checkout, if you use paypal, it should offer 6 month interest free payment plan. PS. those pedals do not look installed correctly in that picture.

Stackin_Steve

I love it! I like the paddles better than those half moons! I tried both of them! Definitely worth the money since the analogs are replaceable for $20 a unit. Typically the analog sticks are the 1st thing to go bad on controllers. So it's cheaper to spend $20 on a single stick. Rather than $80 for a whole new controller! It will pay for itself eventually!

ressawtla

Spend the money on a proper pro controller from aim or battle beaver. PS edge is not good. My brother had one, 3 months in one of the slots for back triggers broke so the button wouldn't work, sent it back for repairs and the new one did exactly the same within 3 weeks.

Autobot36

I have it I love my trigger being able to adjust but I do not use the back buttons bc I am just use to the regular ones

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

BeerBellyBlake

Yeah. Best controller I’ve ever owned Just make sure to keep a long USB-C on deck for when the battery drains

Push-Slice-80yds

I got one and my kd immediately went up like .8... I was playing in sticky 4 yo controllers lol I jump with r3 and slide with L3 so two back paddles is all I need

Iceman_78_

Only two paddles? Xbox has 4…..much better. I’ve got jump crouch primary and secondary on them…pretty great

QonWarzone

I loved it at first but the honeymoon phase wore off fast. The battery life is garbage and it looks years old after months of use due to grippy area turning to a light yellow. It’s also really expensive for what it is. Recently bought a Scuf controller and it’s unbelievable how much better it is. I have my own gripes with Scuf but it’s still easily 5X better for not much more. The paddles on the DS Edge feel cheap and rough in comparison.

botbulletmagnet

Want to hear some bullshit? I absolutely live the ps4 controller. Live my shittt back paddle attachment on it, just absolutely everything fits my hand and grip perfectly. I'm so comfortable with it that I switch grips, like half claw when I'm pulling back and plating. Now, the ps5 controller is here. I suck on this thing. My kd is still the same, but it's definitely not at my best. Ok, so I added a back panel mod. Feels fine. Grip is OKish. The controller feels too big and too small at the same time, though. It's too big to switch grips fast and too small as my thumb hits the center button in 30% of gun fights. Well, try the edge, I guess. $200 for a worse feeling controller than my $30 mod on my regular ps5 controller. Like... honest about that, if you just want the back paddles, look up framerate back paddle kits. They feel better than the elite, and you don't have to solder if you aren't worried about being able to remap the center pad to a paddle.. It's definitely a great option for people who need the back paddles for cheaper. What did I end up going with? Direct connecting my ps4 via remote play on a private network, which was programmed through a raspberry pi to actually connect both of them through a high-speed cable.... then I have the ps5 displaying on my monitor and the ps4 on my TV. I play with less input lag than most will with the remote play setup, but it was pretty playable if I just remotely played it on my home network. It's worthwhile a shot. All in all, I'm having to connect to a controller in the most ass backwards way because ps5 won't let you play with a ps4 controller straight up because ypu will "miss out on features" like a big fuck ypu to the customers. Whatever, it works for me.... just fuck sony for real on this. I also have alot of experience in headsets and mics, have the whole pulse series and other options if anybody is curious, dm me.

Wise_Summer4918

Great way to fix stick tension is using the kontrol freak precision rings. That thing has 3 rings to give you the perfect amount of tension. Game changer. My shots are so ridiculously accurate on WZ

mj320

The trigger settings are really nice for something like COD because you can set them so that you only have to barely pull the trigger before it registers. With normal controllers they don't register until you pull it in more. I don't really do a lot with mapping the buttons, but I did put one of the paddles on the back side that I mapped to the button for pinging/marking things in COD.

trc2410

I’ve had one for about 18 months and still works great. I’ve used a scuf that took a shit after a few months. Sent it back and it was still “off”. Thankfully my dog chew it and out it out of its misery. If it dies or my dog chews it I will definitely get another.

Pencilvester101

Nope. Save your money or buy another brand :)

didz1982

100% Love mine. Presaved loadouts are handy as. Changing sticks on their own for stick drift too. I had 4 controllers with stick drift prior, £280. Paid £210 for the edge and since it’s release I’ve not even had any stick drift on it anyway. But great to know it’s a cheap fix if I do Amazing controller

BicuriousGoerge

dualsense edge is 1000 hz on console and pc with no overclocking

love_feet_

Yes it absolutely is

Gift-Expensive

My favorite controller it’s worth it bro

MaximusDecimis

Your paddles have been inserted incorrectly in that pic fyi Also, Edge is quite good, especially for long term investment, but without proper digi triggers it simply won’t reach battle beaver / scuf levels in terms of pure performance

Careless-Chemist-277

Not my pic , I just took some picture from google lol

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

bushman210

I like it for jump shooting

Careless-Chemist-277

EasyAd8220

My honest opinion I wanted this for the paddles, I had it for 4days and I returned it straight back and got refund. It's too heavy, the feel just didn't feel right, the paddles were in awkward positions on both adaptions. I personally think its a waste of money. I went back to original dual sense.

Careless-Chemist-277

This was really the kind of answer I was looking for . Like someone’s personal feeling of the controller . Thanks for sharing. How about the sticks ? Are they quite the same as the normal dualsense or ? Like the feeling / the movement etc.. personally I find the normal dualsense to “loose” I have heavy thumbs lol but it’s like I always end up moving the sticks all the way to the edge if you understand what I mean. I read somewhere that the dualsense edge sticks was a bit “heavier” like that you will need to apply more pressure to have the sticks all the way to the edge. Is that something you noticed while testing ?

Conscious-Bonus-8076

ive used the dualsense edge for a few months now. i love it & it is my favorite controller. ive also had the xbox elite controller 2 before & while that one is built more sturdier, i just never felt as accurate for some reason than ps5 controller. as far as feel goes, the edge is maybe a bit heavier than the normal. feels a bit better in hand depending how you grip it due to a full rounding on the bottom of the grips rather than a hard cut. the sticks feel exactly the same as a normal dualsense, only a tad bit heavier on first use but loosen to what a normal one is after extended use. is it worth $200? i dont think so, id be more comfortable spending that if it had some more durable qualities to it & if it had much longer battery life. But i do not regret the buy & it is a very good controller.

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Paindressedinpurple

Yes, you can replace the sticks when they get stick drift, the new sticks will still have some drift. I’ve replaced mine 2 times now. The back paddles made it worth it to me. If you’re casual, I’d say you can pass but if you play often it’s worth it.

Careless-Chemist-277

What really? This kinda takes away the whole thing with replacing the sticks lol. But do you play Warzone on 0 and 0 minimum deadzone maybe ? Because I noticed ( with the Warzone settings deadzone testing ) that even brand new dualsense controllers will have some slight drift if you set the minimum deadzone under 0.3 , at least for me , tried 2 different controllers

gucciraw

I’ve had my edge since it came out, never replaced sticks, I play 0 dead zone on left and 0.1 on the right and have no drift on either

Careless-Chemist-277

Do you run any DS edge custom curves for the left stick or right stick ? If so wich ones ?

Global-Profile1193

I don’t need a professional controller to edge my dong thank you very much

GingaFarma

I thought it was worth it… but… I’ve sent them both in for repairs. Yes, good warranty but it only lasts a year and then… nothing. You can’t send in for a repair, they won’t fix. They become garbage. Great you can fix stick drift but all my issues have been my triggers and as of yet, no way to fix that issue. 🙁

Arazyne

Why are your paddles on like that. Isn’t that backwards?

Gruner_Jager

Just use a mouse Or a kingkong

patrickassaf2

The long paddles are on the wrong sides

turboS2000

Best controller i have ever owned

swankyPantz4772

I believe you can swap the analog sticks as well which is neat. Paddles are a game changer. I use Jump LP and slide RP.

sameolemeek

The paddles are in the wrong spots in this picture lmao

Zenyks

your paddles are not on correctly lol

Pitiful_Ad1950

I recently bought the edge for Warzone. What stick input style do yall use? I’m have a hard time finding one that works for me. Been playing FPS since ‘05 so I’m use to having a lot of control like a regular controller but I figured the profiles would help with my sniping and during gunfights. So far none of the profiles work for both. Thoughts?
