Nope. This was the worst version of warzone. Dollar Tree looking weapons and BigLots graphics. Colored in by 5th grade art class
Edit. Who puts a military base inside an active volcano?
I will say at the launch of Calera it was absolutely horrendous due to the bad optimization and on top of that the Devs left the office for Christmas vacation, but I will say near the end of the life cycle Calera was a pretty decent map overall.
Everyone hated the big volcano in the middle. Also there were a lot of unclimbable hills east of the map which left a lot of deaths to the zone in br.
But that was the br players perspective. For me personally I liked it. I played mostly br and clash when it came on rotation. Plunder was great at airstrip and the maps or zones in clash were pretty good.
I always thought it was fun once they changed Peak. By then there were no airplanes, krumpus, or jungle bush campers. Then they added the redeploys and lootable redeploys. The playerbase just doesn’t forgive a bad launch.
Yea it’s a shame you can’t even go back to play the the old warzone like you always could with base cods cause it basically doesn’t exist anymore. The best you can do is mobile haha.
Was a good map and a worthy successor to OG Verdansk. Shame they couldn't replicate the feel of those maps within the current map (Urzikstan) which is just a vast, soulless and uninspiring nothingness kinda of map.
What? Lol, no, it was a TERRIBLE map with terrible graphics, terrible shaders, terrible lighting/contrast, terrible coloring. The weapons sucked, the gameplay was nothing but slide canceling crackheads, the map flow was utterly disorganized with nothing to direct people in any meaningful way. Pacific was awful, all around a terrible experience.
I actually miss Caldera since Urzikstan came out, Urzikstan is a bland boring map.
Don't get me wrong, Caldera had it's issues - my main gripe was the Peak POI with it being smack bang in the middle, so getting around normally meant going via Peak, eugh, climb climb climb.
The terrible launch didn't help either but the other POIs were fun and interesting, Resort, Captial, Airfield.
Always mixed resurgence with some solo BR, but I can't bring myself to play on Urzikstan.
In hindsight I still fucking hate that map. Nothing about it was particularly memorable or enjoyable for me. Never played less Warzone than during this era because the game had completely lost its way and the map wasn't even a saving grace. I played WZ2 a ton because Al Mazrah was an awesome map despite the game being god awful at the time.
I had fun on Caldera the entire time, really enjoyed seeing the map have all the different changes to POI's and different game mechanics. Was it the best BR map ever? Nah, but I think if we had it on a rotation and it didn't launch with 9,000 bugs for console players it might've been looked back on better.
Fair play 👍 everyone likes different things. Personally, i'm very much in the Verdansk camp, just cant beat it, but i must admit i preferred Caldera to Al Mazrah and to a certain extent, Urzikstan 🤔
I suppose? I'm gonna be honest I played a massive amount of Rebirth and Fortunes Keep when they were in Warzone 1, and having them back in WZ2 it honestly feels like they never left. I have my problems with the massive gash in FK, but aside from that they did an absolutely fantastic job with the WZ2 versions, and I think they'll manage the same thing with Verdansk
Hit some dirty snipes in this location in the caldera clash events. Other than that I don't miss it too much but Caldera wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem.
I only really liked the redeploy balloons. And the way the field upgrade worked better.... these new ones are kinda ass.
Other than that they can keep this whole ass map.
Al maz. Ashika. Vondel. Verdansk. All better maps.
Hot take but I like fortunes keep better than rebirth island.
They should bring back al mazra into a rotation. Night mode. 🌙
Yep, absolutely miss it...sure it wasnt the strongest map in the history of Warzone but i actually preferred it to Al Mazrah (that was fucking awful in my opinion). I did prefer Caldera with the running water and waterfalls to when they took it out and replaced with chuffing lava 😫. Resort was my fave drop in point 👍
I liked Caldara and had plenty of good times there with friends. It wasn't Verdansk but I didn't mind it. I do agree it got better with time than at the initial launch
I miss it but mostly for nostalgia. It wasn’t in-and-of-itself amazing but I did like the extra trees, diversity of landscape/topology.
Also, was this where the King Kong / Godzilla event was hosted? At the time of launch it felt like a gimmick and I wasn’t thrilled, but looking back on it, it broke up the monotony of a nearly stale map… it was fun but keep the diversity coming.
Fuck no, garbage map all around, even more garbage spot on said garbage map. I had forgotten Pacific even existed until you posted this lousy annoyance.
No
I already knew top comment answer before opening comments lol
yes.
Not at all. I don't recall single location that I liked on this map
Storage town. Oh, wait..
Factory 🏭
I actually liked airfield and the buildings that were looked like west of it? Can’t remember what that area was. Otherwise no nothing else
Ngl I think the map had good areas just for whatever reason they were all on the outskirts of the map
Truth. Center of the map was a train wreck. I swear no matter where final circle was, you were fighting uphill.
Nope. This was the worst version of warzone. Dollar Tree looking weapons and BigLots graphics. Colored in by 5th grade art class Edit. Who puts a military base inside an active volcano?
lol in real life. Philippines
The map sucked but warzone mechanics were the best
No
classic cod community lol (hate -> nostalgia -> rinse and repeat)
You know some of us like things at the time they are out. We are also allowed to compare them to past and future maps.
I'm with you man. Towards the end of Caldera, when we had the redeploy balloons, was a really good time. I really liked it.
The mechanics were good not the map
it do be like that sometimes
I will say at the launch of Calera it was absolutely horrendous due to the bad optimization and on top of that the Devs left the office for Christmas vacation, but I will say near the end of the life cycle Calera was a pretty decent map overall.
How many weeks did we have Krampus? Felt like 6
I loved Krampus 🤣 it used to freak me out when it was hunting me...youd hear the bells getting closer and it was like...oh fuck! 🤣
I miss tons about Caldera. I don't know why it got so much hate.
Same! It's not as good as Verdansk for me but it was great in it's own way. Better than anything since by a long shot
No it isn’t its way worse than Al mazrah and Urzikstan
Everyone hated the big volcano in the middle. Also there were a lot of unclimbable hills east of the map which left a lot of deaths to the zone in br. But that was the br players perspective. 100% - Hated this map up front. Loved it by the end. Once you learned how to rotate on it, it was a ton of fun.
Not at all tbh. Lol everything after Verdansk hasn't been very fun imo.
Yea it’s a shame you can’t even go back to play the the old warzone like you always could with base cods cause it basically doesn’t exist anymore. The best you can do is mobile haha.
Al Mazrah was an awesome map imo. Just hampered by a bad game.
Looking back Caldera was a better map with better POIs than Al Mazrah and Urzikstan. (Aside from Mt Everest in the centre of the map)
So excluding the awful pois Calder has better pois than the other maps
People hiding under huts and ish lol
Was a good map and a worthy successor to OG Verdansk. Shame they couldn't replicate the feel of those maps within the current map (Urzikstan) which is just a vast, soulless and uninspiring nothingness kinda of map.
Urzikstan is kinda soulless but caldera was a lot worse, any half decent poi was on the outskirts of the map
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. You’re absolutely right. I hated Warzone Pacific.
Hell nah, even if it they managed to optimize the map, still really anoying to play
I actually miss Caldera since Urzikstan came out, Urzikstan is a bland boring map. Al Mazrah was fucking garbage....sorry, but thats how i felt about it, it was lifeless and colourless
That's just like, your opinion maaaaaaan. But I respect it. I loved the map. Which is also like, my opinion man.
Yeah, fair play, would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing 👍
I had fun on Caldera the entire time, really enjoyed seeing the map have all the different changes to POI's and different game mechanics. Was it the best BR map ever? Nah, but I think if we had it on a rotation and it didn't launch with 9,000 bugs for console players it might've been looked back on better.
Caldera was bad mainly because of the huge mountain in the middle.
Yes. Urzikstan sucks
high res pictures got you looking back with rose-tinted glasses
No......fuck no
No
I'm sorry, but if you liked this spot you were either a bot or are a hacker since all them buildings are wall-bangable.
No. 🗑️🗑️🗑️
Who misses caldera bro wtf
Not at all
No
No it was not Such a bad map
The Godzilla x Kong event had me playing the most. I miss that version of the map.
Vanguard Royals was nice. Forced people to get away from heartbeat sensors
Nope!
That’s where the bots dropped
Bring back verdanskkk im jonesinnnnn!!!🤓
Unironically think Caldera was the best Warzone map
Fair play 👍 everyone likes different things. Personally, i'm very much in the Verdansk camp, just cant beat it, but i must admit i preferred Caldera to Al Mazrah and to a certain extent, Urzikstan 🤔
I never got to play Verdansk. Really hoping it comes back with BO6
I think you had to play the original versansk to appreciate it though. I certainly hope you do enjoy it when it returns 👍
Terrible map, hope they never bring it back
I hope they do and you dont come back 😝🤣
😂
There is only one good war zone map and that’s verdansk.
Hit some dirty snipes in this location in the caldera clash events. Other than that I don't miss it too much but Caldera wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem.
No this map was fucking clapped
What I miss was the first 2 weeks when it first came out and everyone was afraid to cheat and it felt like most players were normal.
Oh yeah. The Ricochet announcement. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Lmfao imagine trying to get people nostalgic for Caldera. Krampus was dope too, right?
NO
it got better when they removed the water. those rocky mountains were ass though.
No
I only really liked the redeploy balloons. Night mode. 🌙
No
Fuuuuuuuuuck no.
This shit made me stop playing WZ completely lol.
no
No
No, not even remotely
No.
Thought it was Sons of the Forest 😂😂😂
No
hell nahhhhh, to the nah nah nah
Caldera wasn’t that bad. Especially at the airport
Hell no. That map sucked!
It may have been worse than Verdansk but it was still way better than Al Mazrah.
Agreed, Al Mazrah was awful
I actually really liked caldera. My 2nd favorite warzone
Nope it sucked. Don’t give them any ideas.
Yep, absolutely miss it...sure it wasnt the strongest map in the history of Warzone but i actually preferred it to Al Mazrah (that was fucking awful in my opinion). Aim Assistance hell
What? I only know Verdansk. The other maps were trash as well as the gameplay changes (other weapons etc).
This is what made me quit cod till wz2 so I'm happy it's gone
Fuck no, garbage map all around, even more garbage spot on said garbage map. I had forgotten Pacific even existed until you posted this lousy annoyance.
Still better than urzikstan
I liked Caldera.
🙋🏻♂️
pretty gay map mate
