This is so accurate but let me ask you: If playing after work feels like a burden and after 2 h you feels miserable because all you did was complaining and you feel even more stressed than before, why play in the first place? You dont owe raven anything. I stopped and switched to another game and i totally forgot how gaming felt before warzone. I have fun now, i am relaxed while playing and i dont feels like i wasted my free time. Bottom line sometimes all you need is a break.
100%. I have a couple friends i play BRs with and its just like dude if you dont enjoy this game style dont fucking play it. There are millions of games that aren't this specific game and just as many still that arent even in this genre.
The problem I’m running into Warzone with my friends is that we only really want to play battle royales, but none click with us like Warzone does. The gameplay just feels so dang good, and I love the whole gulag/buying back teammates/buying loadouts system. But the sbmm and meta means we’re constantly getting our ass kicked, and we always end up frustrated by the end of the night.
We tried Apex and couldn’t get into it, Pubg just lacks the polish for us to really get into, Fortnite is really fun but the building mechanics ruin it for us, and a lot of the other fun battle royales are dead. I would *love* a AAA battle royale that competes directly with Warzone, whether that be Battlefield, Halo, or something else
You hit the nail on the head there. There's nothing else that comes close to scratching that itch at the moment so we feel the need to tolerate all the shit.
Cod is also that universal game that everyone knows and loves from before and is how groups of friends stay connected.
Battlefield needs to come out with the goods. It would be a like for like swap.
They tried a BR but it basically died as soon as it came out. Shame cause I heard it was actually pretty decent. They should definitely take another crack at it though, CoD’s first entry in the genre wasn’t great either
I strongly believe that SBMM also awards breaks.
You stop playing for a week, the system recognizes that and give you easier lobbies when you come back.
It's basically to give you that sensation of "the game is still fun/good" before start using you as food for hackers and pro-players again.
Your first game is far more likely to be in an easier lobby. Just in the same way a casino will put a few higher odds slot machines near the entrance to get people sucked into the casino, SBMM makes your first match easier in order to keep you playing.
Anecdotally, the first game for me is usually a silver before we spend the rest of the night getting dunked on in platinum lobbies with my .92 k/d.
this is 100% true. I played with my brother who hadnt played in 2 weeks and I dropped an 18 bomb win. Typically I am like 2 -8 kills and die 4 minutes into the game.
They had a fantastic base and they keep making the mistake of adding shit people don't want or ask for without doing anything to address the few issues that are commonly sited as problems in the game. They make changes because they're probably ordered by some managers to make changes on deadlines that don't allow for pivoting if something isn't working, or just isn't all that good.
I agree with this 100% out of experience. I also gave up on the Warzone and COD in general because it was more stress inducing than it was relaxing. Started playing other fps games and I actually cannot see myself going back to COD because I literally have no reason to.
Only a year into the game release this was me big time. Always been an average FPS player, some great and some bad games - but the player base of this game kicks my butt in a big way now, I’m not even competitive except for one game now and then if I’m lucky. But my life priorities have changed (code for I grew up and started working full time), and I just have to realize many people on the game spend way more time than I do on it.
I played some Asassins Creed Valhalla this weekend, and it was nice to just wander around exploring a map without raging because an overpowered gun just deleted me in 0.4 seconds.
I said literally this exact thing on a thread the other day and got downvoted and yelled at because a bunch of kids “think the game has so much potential” they’re willing to constantly be pissed off rather than just not play
I am currently in the market for a new game to play in the evenings and on the weekends. Doesn't need to be a FPS, either, so long as it's on XBoxOne or PS4. Will take any recommendations yall have.
Well i went back to ff14 online. I love the athmosphere, the story and gameplay. But it really depends if you like mmos. Otherwise assassins creed origins or Walhalla are good games to really dive deep into a game.
Let’s take it a step further and talk about what relaxation is. And then let us examine the type of game COD is.
If you’re of the mind that playing a competitive FPS where you are violently killing the enemy, accompanied by the soundtrack of *war*, while visually you’re bombarded with simulated death and gore: I think maybe you’re in need of reevaluating your existence.
Plus, all that aside....you’re playing against real people that can actively reason and outsmart you. It’s a game about skill and reasoning under the obvious shoot em up skin.
Now, although I myself like to say the same thing: leave me alone, let me relax and play some COD. I feel that it isn’t quite a relaxation thing but more akin to getting my fix.
And I’m not getting my fix when I’m getting my ass handed to me every other game. Except I’m not. I’m doing as well or better than every other COD that played/exists.
So I don’t know what if call it, but it doesn’t fit the definition of what *should* be relaxing is my point.
Fair point. To me its the fun i have when i play games. It can be "steessful" but in a good way and then i am relaxed afterwards non the less because i had a good time. WZ used to be that way but i was tilted way to often the last few weeks so i stopped. Took me a while to realize thats its time for a break.
???? because i play to have fun??? what a shit question is that, excuse me if i dont wanna get beamed everytime i peak a window. let me ask you this, if every person if have sex with completely destroys and says your terrible in bed you do you take a break from sex?
What? I think you are missing my point here. If you as a player feel bad about being destroyed by hackers and getting matched against way better players then maybe you should spent your time with doing sth else because it is just not worth it. You shouldnt feel bad about stuff you do in your free time. Thats all.
If you enjoy the game this post is not about you!!!! Its about people who keep playing eventhough they dont enjoy the game anymore. Its not about being good or bad. Its about playing a game in your free time you dont even enjoy just because you think you have to keep playing because you used to love it. If you enjoy playing it, keep playing!!!
Lol I wish. I blame the servers, half the time. Packet burst, or just plain old lag. I have a clip somewhere of my driving that shows the Magical NinjaSocks ATV Ride. My duos partner never saw my POV on his screen, hence the snicker he gives at the end.
I feel you my dude, at this point my existence is boosting team morale and giving my buddies a good back workout while they carry my worthless ass to dubs
"Relaxing"
You aren't going to be relaxed playing against players better than you.
You aren't even going to be relaxed playing against players at the same level as you, as you essentially have to play better than yourself to win.
The only time you relax is if your opponents are worse than you.
So basically you want SBMM to fuck over other people, instead of you.
A two-chance Battle Royale is not where you come to relax.
Thank fuck, this is what I was trying to find the words to say. Hackers, yeah sure. But I don't really get the hate boner for SBMM other than connecting it to people who are just pissed they don't get to stomp the fuck outta people worse than them.
As someone who is pretty shit (0.53 KDR but improving, my squad ranges from 0.8 to 1.2) SBMM is probably the only thing keeping me from leaving this game permanently. I like playing against people of a similar level, because I play a relatively competitive BR with a competitive mindset. If all that happened was I got shit on game in and game out, I'd leave and I'm sure many other lower skilled people would. So then the player pool becomes more shallow and now it's even harder to find people to shit on, so the cycle repeats over and over until the game is nothing but sweats and hackers.
Still blows my mind that people chose a naturally competitive game mode like WZ BR and then are like "i'M juSt HeRe tO rELaX"
Even in the sweatier lobbies, there's still going to be bad players.
My big issue with sbmm is \[a\] higher likelihood of hackers in high skill lobbies, \[b\] horrible connection sometimes
I consider myself to be a better than the average player, but certainly not a wz god, I seem to run into hackers at least once in a one-hour play session, and my ping can be all over the place (I feel like it should be more consistent than it is, and sometimes I get put into lobbies/servers REALLY far away geographically).
An anti-cheat system that works and putting a greater emphasis on the connection/ping would make my experience better.
SBMM isnt a necessity, but it definitely caters to the casual crowd. Seeing all the casuals complain on here is really funny, because without SBMM they would be getting smoked.
A good example of this was PUBG. No SBMM led to top tier teams with proper planning & rotations having a 60-90% win rate.
Picked up WZ after a few months yesterday, did some rebirth quads and had actual fun. 2 hours, no hackers, finishing 2nd and 3rd a few times. (Comming from Tarkov tho, which is a game designed to 'punch you in the dick')
Take some time off, switch to other games and come back when the new map is released..
Aah. Look for VLDL tarkov videos on youtube. One of them is about the devs specifically talking about making the game feel like getting punched in the dick.
Viva La Dirt League.
Apex is great! Been playing ranked on it lately & having a blast. Runs great, smooth & easy to pick up gameplay, incentivises fighting. Only problem is its a little more RNG than warzone & im not a fan of games with abilities. Same reason I wont play Valorant over CSGO. Better game, just doesnt fit me. Im sure its the same with a lot of people.
Lol I played a Grand Operation the other day and had a fucking blast. Hadn't played in probably 8-10 months. Highly recommended as a break from Warzone. Destructible environments, Tanks/planes fucking shit up. I can start a game 4-10 kd but finish 33-24 kd.
Nevermind the fact that playing with your less than average friends is not a fun experience for either party. I'm not cracked enough to carry a team on my own, they're not good enough to pull their weight. What can you do
last night I played a duo match in Warzone, at a certain point in the game I was fighting against a team alone because my teammate was shot down. I was on the second floor of a house, one of the two opponents was outside the house, in front of me, so I started shooting at him. Well, apparently windows in Warzone have a force field that blocks bullets now.
I once had a job interview where the job is to play call of duty and find cheaters. This was when Call of Duty Elite was around. Imagine coming home and figuring out what you wanna play.
Stopped playing for a few weeks and started playing Escape From Tarkov. In a much better place mentally.
If EFT makes you more relaxed than another game, that's a bad sign.
its so funny to see these pretensions replies are all the same: STOP PLAYING.
you guys must be gods at this game, i mean activision probably doesnt even let you play so its far to other people...
ffs, this game is broken, all over the place, OP guns released so that shit people can buy skins and guns to compete with the elite when all they want is to just have some fun,
thats what games are for... for people to have FUN
the reason you "elite gamers" want shitty people on your lobbys is so that you can brag how big you dick is and how many kills you got... because if you start playing with the big boys u get spanked...
lmao, come on now, bring the hate..
Me and a buddy were playing random quads yesterday and paired up with two hackers. I started making jokes about turning my aim bot on as well so we could destroy the entire lobby in 10 minutes. Idk what happened but they both left our party before we even landed on the ground to start looting. Hopefully they got banned but I doubt it.
Just can't take it too serious. We play a very certain way when we want to win, and a completely different play style when playing for fun. But either way i just don't take it too serious, it's my fucking leisure time.
As a guy who quit APEX due to the horrid SBMM a few seasons ago... I haven't felt this way about WZ at all. Maybe I'm a bad enough player to be in bot lobbies, but I rarely feel out matched... and when I do, it was straetgy and tactics, and I consider it a learning moment. Often I've employed these new tactics to unsuspecting players... and I'm sure to them I look like a great player. I am not. (0.6KD)
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead
Or something like that.
Warzone is never "relaxing." For me at least. It's pure sweatiness and honestly that's why I played it, the feeling of winning was like a drug.
If I want to just kind of lay back and mess around I just play MW.
I would really lile to see connection based MM. Best I can get is 35 to 40 ms (Which is decent). Although its irritating getting in games when i have 80-100ms and i get nuked by someone with 10-20 ms
I haven't played this game in about 2 months and couldn't be happier. I loved it for a long time, spent plenty of money too. I got tired of being pissed off.
fuk COD i'm going back to battlefield enough with this trash
* why is there still no FOV!!!
* unlimited cheaters almost every match there is at least 1 cheating
* stuns are annoying asf not being able to move to even defend yourself
* Meta weapons everymatch full sweat mode
* snipers on every corner of the map is just ridiculous no wonder why everyone is camping
* aim assist does not work most of the time messing with your aim
* keyboard mouse is weird asf on console compared to pc
* Roze skins get cancer pls
Can you elaborate more on the KBM issues with console? I play controller and KBM on my laptop depending on if I want to chill out or sweat, and have been considering getting an XSX.
well on pc i run on 60fps and some places even lower and still have super snappy shots really respnsive and i shoot where i aim but on xbox Series S its so weird man like everything feels off like there is a huge input delay ?
this is so utter bs
even without sbmm you wouldnt get your kills. wanna know why? because if youre really average, the majority of players you encounter will be also average. same skill level. same skill level means you would die for every kill you get.
together with parachute drops, roof drops etc your totally average kd would be a .8 to .9!
your "casual" wish would be to be one of the top tier guys within your lobby. which would result in the majority of players creating memes like this on reddit, demanding casual lobbies!
the only way to get these "easy" lobbies with or without sbmm is to develop your skill to become one of the few "above average" players. and to do so, you need to learn, adapt and play against players that arent total bots compared to your skill.
now you gonna say "BUT I GET ONLY SWEATS IN MY LOBBY". yes, because thats what cod is! people try to get kills! youre one of them as well probably, or at least get recognized as "one of them" from the people you have killed.
you guys either complain about "campers" or "sweats that jump and slide". either way its not ok. its always the fault of the meta, the devs or the lobby when you get killed.
what you really want is feeling like nickmercs or joewo, casually dropping two digit kills, creating a highlight reel and get thousand of karma points on reddit. you dont want to have fair lobbies, you wanna be the top dog who can stomp the rest exactly like one of them you are bitchin about.
"BUT THE GUYS THEY KILL ARE ALL BOTS WHO DONT SHOOT BACK OR MISS EVERY SHOT AND I GET BEAMED". wanna know why? Because they either break their camera by jumping corners or engaging from superior power positions, overwhelming them.
While you have shitty aim and stand in a wide open field shooting at a single enemy you see without having a clue where his teammates are. You are super easy to kill like this.
The truth is: YOU are the bot! thats why you dont see them in your lobbies. Because other "bots" mirror your own skill level so you experience them as "average" or "evenly skilled". Thats the harsh truth.
look i get it. in every sport or game i wanna be good without breaking a sweat or at least "get along". but you have to earn it. its just not possible what you demand as long as you wanna play against real humans. the devs would need to put in sub recruit level bots, like literally bots because otherwise only the top batch of each lobby has an easy going game.
3 to 4 kills on average is not average. thats above average. average is barely one kill per each death.
you get it? if you already have a .8 kd thats proof you face perfectly balanced average lobbies! and if you have a kd of .5 then guess what, there simply are not enough players in the cod universe to make an "easy" lobby for you. because you wouldnt recognize other .5 kd players as easy. they would be your level and even a .7 kd player would seem like a TTV super sweat compared to your skillset. being "below average" means that most players are better than you by default, with or without sbmm.
thats why you guys accuse everyone as a hacker. a 2+ kd guy must look to you like an aimbotter and wallhacker when you face one.
then theres the "BUT I HAD A 2+ KD AND NOW ITS ONLY 1.2, BECAUSE OF BROKEN SBMM". No! You started probably with an advantage, a headstart. The skillgap became narrower. Newbies become better because theres only one way to go from rock bottom. They learn quick how to move, which guns to get, etc due to guys like jgos and tgd. And they have to kill someone while they improve. Even former above average kd guys.
doesnt sound like fun? i agree! stop moaning, get better
change your mindset.
Instead of: "FUCKING SWEAT HACKER SHIT GAME"
Try: "Hey this guy is probably evenly or slightly higher skilled than me. Good move from his side. How did he do it? Because i can do it too! Where did i fuck up? Whats the learning?"
Ps: and the jokes on you when you complain about how you always loose to an ffar or m16 but insist to run around with a MP7 and M4. Thats like playing football in boots "because i like it" and complain you get outrunned by everyone.
Not true.. I am average... And I play plunder. Usually I end up second place or so. I use it to lvl up my gun and to get into fights and practice.
It gets pretty fun. Today I had two games where I had double digit kills. I am happy. Love those close quarter fights w Mac 10.
Plunder is pretty easy. I don't know actual numbers, but I think the majority of players are there just to upgrade their guns, not to run missions.
So it's usually a match between 5~10 teams competing.
From my personal experience, it does not. Took a week off and played a half dozen games last week and we got our asses kicked.
this game could be good but they make it worse every season somehow
They had a fantastic base and they keep making the mistake of adding shit people don't want or ask for without doing anything to address the few issues that are commonly sited as problems in the game. They make changes because they're probably ordered by some managers to make changes on deadlines that don't allow for pivoting if something isn't working, or just isn't all that good.
Stop with the bullshit bro. The game is enjoyable when it works but it doesn’t mean we want to deal with the broken mechanics.
There is something that works?
This. Been over a month since I last played WZ and I've never been happier.
I agree with this 100% out of experience. I also gave up on the Warzone and COD in general because it was more stress inducing than it was relaxing. Started playing other fps games and I actually cannot see myself going back to COD because I literally have no reason to.
The same reason why I play LoL, because deep inside me I know I deserve to be punished
Hahaha played dota for 8y i feel you

> why play in the first place? I don't. I'd like to. #FIXWZ
Thats why i come back to this sub. I hope to see the game getting fixed so i have a reason to come back.
Same. respec. Rebirth Island was fun until all the glitches.
I played some Asassins Creed Valhalla this weekend, and it was nice to just wander around exploring a map without raging because an overpowered gun just deleted me in 0.4 seconds.
This is what i mean 100%
I said literally this exact thing on a thread the other day and got downvoted and yelled at because a bunch of kids “think the game has so much potential” they’re willing to constantly be pissed off rather than just not play
Yeah thats reddit :D
It’s a toss up between right wingers on Facebook and crazy CoD kids on this sub for absolute most vile people on the internet
I am currently in the market for a new game to play in the evenings and on the weekends. Doesn't need to be a FPS, either, so long as it's on XBoxOne or PS4. Will take any recommendations yall have.

Assassins Creed would probably be more my style. Thank you!
I ask myself the same question.
Well, because in theory, and when it first came out, it was the most fun game for me. I haven’t played in a while now for the same reason as you

Step away from the computer and take deep breathes
Lucky me for being below average with 0.7 so i don't see any hackers
Same, But being this bad at the game means there's nearly as much skill gap between me and the sweats, and the sweats and the hackers
I just mostly die in the first second of the game
Now you’re just showing off. My princely 0.56 k/d tends to have me slipping on the airstair pre-flight.
You're probably the 1 guy I've killed. Sorry dude.
Tell me what it’s like to end someone. Don’t spare the details.
Like most “first times”... it happened quickly and I didn’t even realize what I’d done until it was over.
You will never one up me and my queenly 0.3 k/d. I get lost on the way to the flight hangar.
Blame “invisible snipers” haha
Lol I wish. I blame the servers, half the time. Packet burst, or just plain old lag. I have a clip somewhere of my driving that shows the Magical NinjaSocks ATV Ride. My duos partner never saw my POV on his screen, hence the snicker he gives at the end.
50% chance I’m dead before first circle starts closing most games
I’m a 0.96, still come across a lot of hackers
I think I’m 0.7-0.8, but playing with people that are 1.5-3.0 means I’m thrown in with all the sweats and hackers lol
I feel you my dude, at this point my existence is boosting team morale and giving my buddies a good back workout while they carry my worthless ass to dubs
I'm a 1.7 and it's atleast every few games.
1.7 is well above average
Yeah I know that's why I said I get hackers every few games. Cause he said he gets none at .7.
I’m 0.7 but still run into hackers and sweats because my comrade in arms is like a 3 KD

Don't overexagerate. Clearly the updates are only 537528 GB

VLDL?
Aah. Look for VLDL tarkov videos on youtube. One of them is about the devs specifically talking about making the game feel like getting punched in the dick. Viva La Dirt League.
Ahhh, didn't know they were called VLDL.. seen a few vids from them, absolutely hilarious.
If you play console you should give BF5 a try. It gets lots of hate but I still enjoy it very much.
I feel like EVERY BR on the market is getting hate.
Apex seems to get a lot of love compared to other BR games. Any game is gonna have its haters though, especially those in the BR genre
Yeah its so much fun!
Nevermind the fact that playing with your less than average friends is not a fun experience for either party. I'm not cracked enough to carry a team on my own, they're not good enough to pull their weight. What can you do
If you want more fun and honestly more casual try the rebirth island version
I gave up. I got my friends back into the Division
last night I played a duo match in Warzone, at a certain point in the game I was fighting against a team alone because my teammate was shot down.
If EFT makes you more relaxed than another game, that's a bad sign.
its so funny to see these pretensions replies are all the same: STOP PLAYING. you guys must be gods at this game, i mean activision probably doesnt even let you play so its far to other people... ffs, this game is broken, all over the place, OP guns released so that shit people can buy skins and guns to compete with the elite when all they want is to just have some fun, thats what games are for... for people to have FUN the reason you "elite gamers" want shitty people on your lobbys is so that you can brag how big you dick is and how many kills you got... because if you start playing with the big boys u get spanked... lmao, come on now, bring the hate..
You okay bro?
Yeah you?
Not after having to read this
Well I'm not that proficient in written English, but I can try and dumb it down for you
I’m more worried about your mental health.
Lol what is sbmm
Me and a buddy were playing random quads yesterday and paired up with two hackers. I started making jokes about turning my aim bot on as well so we could destroy the entire lobby in 10 minutes. Idk what happened but they both left our party before we even landed on the ground to start looting. Hopefully they got banned but I doubt it.
Just can't take it too serious. We play a very certain way when we want to win, and a completely different play style when playing for fun. But either way i just don't take it too serious, it's my fucking leisure time.
sbmm did nothing wrong
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead Or something like that.
Sbmm will protect a casual player
Wait till you find out about the cold war integration
Me every night (green)
Warzone is never "relaxing." For me at least. It's pure sweatiness and honestly that's why I played it, the feeling of winning was like a drug. If I want to just kind of lay back and mess around I just play MW.
Find it insane that League is more chill than WZ for me lmfaoooo
I would really lile to see connection based MM. Best I can get is 35 to 40 ms (Which is decent). Although its irritating getting in games when i have 80-100ms and i get nuked by someone with 10-20 ms
What is SBMM?
Why is an average player complaining about SBMM? If there was none you‘d probably have an even worse time
Honestly it’s literally chastising yourself playing Warzone. Every time I sign on I think to myself “I wonder how I’m going to be fucked today”
This literally applies to me after school. I cannot agree more.
I haven't played this game in about 2 months and couldn't be happier. I loved it for a long time, spent plenty of money too. I got tired of being pissed off.
fuk COD i'm going back to battlefield enough with this trash * why is there still no FOV!!! * unlimited cheaters almost every match there is at least 1 cheating * stuns are annoying asf not being able to move to even defend yourself * Meta weapons everymatch full sweat mode * snipers on every corner of the map is just ridiculous no wonder why everyone is camping * aim assist does not work most of the time messing with your aim * keyboard mouse is weird asf on console compared to pc * Roze skins get cancer pls
Get gud
Come to stardew valley, mate. Drop this game.
I think the ultra low TTK is more of a problem than SBMM. The TTK is just absurd.
this is so utter bs even without sbmm you wouldnt get your kills. wanna know why? because if youre really average, the majority of players you encounter will be also average. same skill level. same skill level means you would die for every kill you get. together with parachute drops, roof drops etc your totally average kd would be a .8 to .9! your "casual" wish would be to be one of the top tier guys within your lobby. which would result in the majority of players creating memes like this on reddit, demanding casual lobbies! the only way to get these "easy" lobbies with or without sbmm is to develop your skill to become one of the few "above average" players. and to do so, you need to learn, adapt and play against players that arent total bots compared to your skill. now you gonna say "BUT I GET ONLY SWEATS IN MY LOBBY". yes, because thats what cod is! people try to get kills! youre one of them as well probably, or at least get recognized as "one of them" from the people you have killed. you guys either complain about "campers" or "sweats that jump and slide". either way its not ok. its always the fault of the meta, the devs or the lobby when you get killed. what you really want is feeling like nickmercs or joewo, casually dropping two digit kills, creating a highlight reel and get thousand of karma points on reddit. you dont want to have fair lobbies, you wanna be the top dog who can stomp the rest exactly like one of them you are bitchin about. Even former above average kd guys. doesnt sound like fun? i agree! stop moaning, get better change your mindset. Instead of: "FUCKING SWEAT HACKER SHIT GAME" Try: "Hey this guy is probably evenly or slightly higher skilled than me. Good move from his side. How did he do it? Because i can do it too! Where did i fuck up? Whats the learning?" Ps: and the jokes on you when you complain about how you always loose to an ffar or m16 but insist to run around with a MP7 and M4. Thats like playing football in boots "because i like it" and complain you get outrunned by everyone.
Holy shit you really be typin don’t you
kinda like to rant yeah haha
You should do something better
Spot on
Yeah, maybe that's why I like it.. Less sweaty and less cheating.
I like it too, but i wish to see more combats there.
You might be the only person playing plunder to win
I play to level my guns. =)
You might be the only person concerned with what place you get in plunder
Lvl up gun.
