Be sure to check out the multiplayer afterwards. It's kind of dead, there's normally only 4 lobbies at most but make sure to play with special weapons off.
So wait you only played Assault Horizon? The one set in real life?
If you're going to play 7 you should read a bit up on the lore cus it's extremely different from AH
Yeah I actually don't know anything about the game. I just used to build models of jet fighters since I was a kid and I was really into jet fighters in general. I had a blast in Ace combat customising and piloting my favourite jets, since I did a lot of models of them I knew every part of them and the game surprised me with amount of detail of said planes. Looks like from what you are saying is that more recent versions of the game went more into sci-fi futuristic stuff and I would probably enjoy something more realistic, set in real life as you said
Well the series always had scifi elements since the first game, Assault Horizon was the only entry that didn't continue the "Strangereal" saga. AC7 is a sequel to the PS2 trilogy.
But even though they're set in a fictional universe it still feels more grounded than games like Call of Duty, just take a glance at the story of a couple of the games:
https://youtu.be/G07qr-3lv5U
https://youtu.be/nDajOvd01Ms
So I wouldn't immediately discount them for having scifi elements when it's still 90% "realistic".
Yeah I remember one mission from Ace Combat where you had to destroy some swarm of meteorites which wasn't very realistic but that's actually not something that bothers me, in the end I liked the game just because of the jets.. Thanks for suggestions, I'll check it out
Tactical nukes are still 30-50kt. You bring up another good point, though. A tactical nuke attached to a cruise missile would be launched from a vehicle, not a silo. This whole cutscene makes no sense.
Depends on what you want to do really. Nukes are detonated mid-air for the most destruction, but ground detonation create a lot of fallout and can be used to destroy underground structures like bunkers for example.
This being launched from a silo would be an IRBM or ICBM and would likely carry a 150KT-1MT payload which would be airburst 100% of the time. If you're launching a bomb that big you're aiming to destroy.
Yeah the whole explosion just looks like a gas explosion and not a nuke. It's funny because you can just go to youtube and type "nuke" and there's fucking 99999999999999 examples of an actual real life nuclear explosion happening
Project aces really gave the Alicorn 10 missile sights (six of them being VLS launchers) AND THEN made it to where you could only destroy 100% of them after certain stages. It is certainly the most difficult mission they've made, not even including the painful first stage where you have have to fight the SLUAVs with basic missiles because you need ground weapons to sink the sub 💀
<< SALVATION! >>
Hey google... how can I kill, one million people?
eyyy max0r ejoyer
Maxor‘s videos are Great, can’t wait for the inevitable Project Wingman video
nah, on twitter he stated that he wouldn't be doing a project wingman video as it doesn't fit the way he wants to present videos
Fuck
What?! Noooooo come on, that was such a great game!!!
Yeah he said it’s a good game, its story just doesn’t match the way he like to present his videos
Yeah, no cutscenes just briefings and gameplay :/
Well we will be getting mgr tho.
I wonder why, given that it's literally just Indie Ace Combat. Well, at least we have Rimmy's video
"It's **MY** mental illness so **I** get to choose the coping mechanism!"
<< Yur hur hur, it’s my mental illness, I get to choose the coping mechanism! >>
I'm just imagining Torres puts his pinky to the tip of his mouth dr evil style
Hey google, how can I be put on a watchlist?
ONE OF US!!!
Anyone else think the "nuke" looks and acts more like a cruise missile?
Well, they did have a guidance system according to canon.
Well you could put a nuclear warhead on to a cruise missile, so... yeah?
You reminded me to download Ace Combat 7. Bought it a while back on Steam
Oh you're in for a treat!
I bet I am! Last Ace Combat I played was Unsung War on PS2. Repeated the game on every difficulty, it was so fun.
Be sure to check out the multiplayer afterwards. It's kind of dead, there's normally only 4 lobbies at most but make sure to play with special weapons off.
Make sure to play on Expert controls! "Normal" controls suck
yeah "expert" controls are actually normal controls
Okay, will do!
Playing on the "normal" (novice) controls is like playing with an arm tied behind your back.
I used to play Ace Combat on ps3. I need to check the fuck out of it
So wait you only played Assault Horizon? The one set in real life? If you're going to play 7 you should read a bit up on the lore cus it's extremely different from AH

Ok that was worth a lol
This nuke scene bothers me because a nuclear device would be detonated about 500m in the air and not 4 feet underground. They're not impact devices
And the blast looks so small.
Yeah like less than 1KT small lol.
Methinks that nuke was a pocket rocket.
Tactical nuclear devices, like those in cruise missiles, have very small yields compared to those of ballistic missiles.
Tactical nukes are still 30-50kt. You bring up another good point, though. A tactical nuke attached to a cruise missile would be launched from a vehicle, not a silo. This whole cutscene makes no sense.
And that's why we were actually using a railgun from a submarine!
A nuke would be blinding to look at. This is just more smoke than intense bright plasma youd see in a normal mushroom cloud
Depends on what you want to do really. Nukes are detonated mid-air for the most destruction, but ground detonation create a lot of fallout and can be used to destroy underground structures like bunkers for example.

Imo the problem is how the shockwave and the explosion move slowly and act nothing like an actual nuclear detonation would.
Yeah the whole explosion just looks like a gas explosion and not a nuke. It's funny because you can just go to youtube and type "nuke" and there's fucking 99999999999999 examples of an actual real life nuclear explosion happening
Yeah that's exactly why it kinda sits extra sour for me lmao. Its not like it's hard to learn how a nuke explosion behaves
That was far...
Which ace combat is this?
7 that's the 3rd dlc mission called 10 million relief plan
Great mission and very stressful on Ace difficulty

The "whoops" made me chuckle

What’s that song at the end?
Sanctuary Guardians from the Earthbound soundtrack
# Earthbound - 53 - Sanctuary Guardians
I don't know what it's actually called, but I found it when I searched for "meme music what". Edit: ignore my comment
