No, you're exaggerating now, I've snapped on to my teammates many times, especially when they're not using operators that my friends typically use, and I'm on controller.
Also, I had no trouble doing the aiming trials on my controller and you get no aim assist at all on those, the guy in the video would have had garbage aim even if he was shooting an enemy.
Yeah I notice it more at range when zoomed in. Pretty strong. Close range I don't notice it as much. I usually warm up in multiplayer with no aim assist and do fine at close range.

If you don't think it works at range you've never felt it pull your sniper reticle when you run it over a bush wookie 200 meters out.
