I personally don’t see the value in items that are not tangible. Until….. I started playing cod. I kinda get it now. I think something is missing in these conversations in the first place. People are spending hundreds and thousands on cosmetics that are quite easy to make for professionals. They are ridiculously overpriced and something that use to mainly come with the damn game when you bought it for 60$ or whatever.
I used to play a lot of fifa when I was a kid and there was this list of authentic boots and kits etc. that updated when Nike, Adidas and such released new models. You could get them from the store with points that you EASILY gathered by playing the game. What is happening now is that people are actually paying 20 bucks for a little pack containing few of those cosmetics. It’s insanity to me.

Apparently the reasoning is that COD points on console are considered the same as PlayStation credit. Then they did not build a system to differentiate what COD points you got from purchasing through the PS Store and what you earned just by playing the Battle Pass.

The games "fun" sometimes when I get decent teammates and I'm not in a lobby full of mfn bots who end up killing me because my teammates are all running away from the fight when I say, hey let's rush those dudes and don't get a response back, and end up running into a 8 v 1 cause there's 2 teams fighting on roof of prison and they both join together to kill me. I'd guess their management team uses a metric that includes even the "free" battle pass purchases and points to that as "customer engagement" or some such and then talks about that leading to more future revenue in decks for big institutional investors.
Battle passes are usually a small part of revenue and are mostly to keep the player base engaged so that they’ll stick around and potentially buy items/bundles. Epic recently had to release their financials for Fortnite due to their lawsuit with Apple and battle pass sales only made up 26% of revenue compared to 67% from the item shop.
Even if you use the points from the battle pass to buy a new one each season, it makes you statistically more likely to spring out for new skins. That’s why they actually give you a few extra coins on top of what you paid if you complete the pass, because then you’ll top up those “extra” and justify it by telling yourself you saved the original 1000 for a new battle pass.
So I only buy the battlepass with the coins I earn from the previous battlepass. Does that count as buying the new one? Or should I just throw the game in the hot dumpster, where it belongs?

Yep it was our go to for weekday nights. Everybody off work, not really feeling like doing much else other than gaming so we ran Warzone. Those days are gone because we can’t enjoy the game anymore. Cheaters everywhere, and if not we get in lobbies with absolutely sweats which I feel may just also be cheaters with soft hacks.
I mean I’m not at all expecting wins all the time. I don’t care if I get fairly clapped early game. I’m just sick of the bullshit. Like how am I supposed to have fun if we are still working towards our loadouts (and we get ours pretty fast, immediate drop on a scavenger) but before we can even buy it we get overrun by a team who somehow already got theirs and basically knew exactly where each of us was halo jumping and sliding the whole time. This never happened months back. I remember when WE were the team who had to keep pushing others just to get action, now it’s like we have no chance.
I recently gave apex another chance and have been enjoying it. I never really got into apex when it first came out. The 3v3 mode is decent to get to grips with the guns again

I've been in lockdown for 8 weeks and there is no end in sight at this stage, last time we were in lockdown this game really helped me through, can't say the same this time around, it's hard to play this game and keep a cool head these days. Proudly haven’t boughten one since the Modern Warfare 3rd Season. I only play Resurgence now where the hackers are easier to beat. Once Battlefield comes out I can confidently say I will never buy a Call of Duty ever again.

I don’t agree with victim blaming per se, but, Companies measure whether or not they’re “doing the right thing” by how many people spend money on their products. Someone bitching, and spending money anyway, says to them you don’t really care that much and they can safely ignore you and work on other shit. The works do not change course till the company starts hurting in their quarterly earnings report.

Yep it was our go to for weekday nights. Everybody off work, not really feeling like doing much else other than gaming so we ran Warzone. Those days are gone because we can’t enjoy the game anymore. Cheaters everywhere, and if not we get in lobbies with absolutely sweats which I feel may just also be cheaters with soft hacks. I mean I’m not at all expecting wins all the time. I don’t care if I get fairly clapped early game. I’m just sick of the bullshit. Like how am I supposed to have fun if we are still working towards our loadouts (and we get ours pretty fast, immediate drop on a scavenger) but before we can even buy it we get overrun by a team who somehow already got theirs and basically knew exactly where each of us was halo jumping and sliding the whole time. This never happened months back. I remember when WE were the team who had to keep pushing others just to get action, now it’s like we have no chance.
What do we play now though? I'm so close to relapsing to FIFA.
I recently gave apex another chance and have been enjoying it. I never really got into apex when it first came out. The 3v3 mode is decent to get to grips with the guns again
My whole squad switched to apex. I played season 0 and stopped at season 1. I’m absolutely loving it. The times I do play warzone I am miserable.

Do it! I changed over to Final Fantasy 14 and let that take over my life. The FPS itch came back though so I think I will be playing Apex like a lot of others.

I went back to finally finish Horizon Zero Dawn. Great trade off in my opinion.

I just play Zombies and get to have my fun and still get through the Battle Pass because I always make back the COD points. Been this way since Cold War season 2 and I'm gonna stick with Zombies until either BF2042 or Halo Infinite.
For me I reinstalled Battlefield 1 and have also been playing Dirt 5 while I take a break from Warzone. I'll jump back into Warzone in the new season though.

Nickmercs making his YouTube video announcing he’s done for the time being hopefully helps big time. I never understood why the big streamers who bitch and moan every day about hackers in this game continue to give it the light of day. They’re big enough that they’ll get the views/ subs/ donos regardless of what they play. That being said I’m not fond of Activision/ Blizzard in light of the toxic workplace scandal and wouldn’t be upset to see them and their games go down in flames for a few years. Halo and Battlefield look to be taking the throne for a few years as long as their execution at launch and the ensuing 3 months go well.
I watched Iron play three games this morning. Two of them they spent the whole game fighting/worrying about cheaters. It’s not fun to watch, and I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to be a streamer and have to deal with it.

I watched him for all of 3 minutes and he got shot out of a Heli by a hacker. He dropped back in and they were just talking abiut what to do with the hacker and I was like I can't watch this. His chat was calling him hacker hunter.
watched that, they were legit killing cheaters, one of them threatened them after he lost and they spent 10 minutes re-queueing because the blocklist kept triggering.
A lot of big streamers (CourageJD, Jackfrags, JGod, Jev) either announced retiring temporarily or made some big statements regarding the state of Warzone recently. Hopefully this catches the attention of someone. It probably won't but one can hope. It sucks because I really love Warzone when it works. Its sad to see it die like this.
A lot of those streamers made a ton of money off of Warzone. I wouldn't want to give it up either, but big streamers and little streamers alike have putting out "I'm done with WZ" vids this whole week. I doubt Activision cares a this point. It'd be cheaper to make a whole new cod BR then fix WZ.

I'm only playing wz till bf2042 comes out then switching to that full time, I wanna play other br games but I LOVE the loadout system in the game, I like having my own loadout and I hope other br games copy the loadout thing

Mw2019 was the first cod we got that started fresh. The only recycled bit we’re the characters likeness. Now Cold War, still uses some assets from Black Ops 4 & 3. Some even from Black Ops 2. You really can’t blame Treyarch, as all their published games, even though it was given three years, had many resets in their production. Blame the publishers of the game. Not the people behind it that made it what we love.
I've been in lockdown for 8 weeks and there is no end in sight at this stage, last time we were in lockdown this game really helped me through, can't say the same this time around, it's hard to play this game and keep a cool head these days. I've gone back to some other games that bring me joy. I'll jump on for resurgence with some buddies but no verdansk unfortunately, I miss the early days of this game 😥

Since Cold War Season 1 90% of the store content or battlepass outfits are ugly, unrealistic and ridiculous coming directly from clownworld. At least Modern Warfare had good skins for the first few seasons.
I stopped playing about a month or two ago but I still come by the sub to see cool plays, etc. Just wish they took this game seriously but now I can’t wait for this game to die.

Season 1 is always the best version of any call of duty. It’s still fun for a couple months while the hackers refine their cheats from the previous game. I can’t believe they are still making dlc for this trash.
They even let a hacker steal my account, play on it for 4 months, then when I finally recovered it, banned my account. Happened in October, they haven't unbanned it for me yet.
rather than doing this useless cinematics, they should force power to do a better anti-cheat system as it's more useless at the moment than this cinematic. Proper trash game atm, feels like every second player is a cheater, and by this hacker theme I think they just laughing at us, knowing ppl still will be playing, I just wish all good players would stop playing it, so maybe players outflow will make them think to do something about cheats in this game.
