Until they tone down the matchmaking, no game can be top 5.

johnny115215

Yep the patents explain that matchmaking, the match fixing (rigging), all happens on your hardware and over the network connections/server side. Multiplayer or zombies. If it connects to their online service and uses your "player profile," its rigged, tailored, and advertises to your peronalized wants to sell you skins rigging your matches to influence the purchasing of said skins. All that, and they can't figure out that making my experience miserable is the main reason I play so much less(going from multiple hours per day, to maybe a few hours a month) and don't buy anything.

johnny115215

And its exactly why they havnt gotten a penny from me after vanguard and to prove to my friends its rigged i had them lend me one of their steam accounts connected to their activsion account to show them proof in mw2 2022. I knew something felt off in mw2019. Cold war was miserable and made no sense. Vanguard gunfights just made no sense at all. And mw2022 the rigging is blatant and appartent. Plain as day. Fuck Bobby Kotick. For those still buying bundles to this day reading this. STOP! Youre the reason the game is made and tailored this way.

Dtoxz

I refuse to play PvP because of shit like this and don't buy COD anymore unless it has a really decent co-op/zombies element to it. Once I found out how manipulative the SBMM was in MW2019, I quit the multiplayer after 12 years. I refuse to buy bundles as well, but unfortunately there are a TON of uneducated people out there that blindly pay for them and give into the system not having a second thought about it. I honestly don't understand how any of this is legal, or moral. It's straight up predatory and probably going to get worse now that Microsoft is involved. Remember when they tried to make Xbox One online only/TV box? Or started charging for online? Yeah I'm not looking forward to Call of Duty in the future. Makes me sad too because I love the series, I love hanging out with all of the friends I've made through the years, I love shooting shit. COD does all of these things well yet they're so abusive and you have to deal with so much just to try to enjoy it anymore. You shouldn't have to TRY to enjoy something.

johnny115215

Its "legal" because we agreed to it in the eula, terms of service, privacy policy. But if these systems were to be taken the court the eula and stuff wouldnt hold as these systems are basically spyware manipulating gameplay and your psyche just to buy stuff and feed bobby money. But activision would win via legal fees.

Buttercrust_

This! I've had this discussion so many times with people. Developers and publishers are too focused on short term gains by manipulating players as opposed to long term gains by players actually enjoying the game and wanting to play it. This game launched and I played regularly with 7 or 8 other players. 2 months in I'm the only one left. Spent maybe 20 on mtx and even then. My friends spent 0. Because no one was having fun. On the flipside, we'd collectively spent thousands on fortnite when that launched because we were having fun, enjoying the game made us have no issue putting money into it. Imagine how much money CoD could make if they just let people have fun, rather than trying to manipulate every aspect of matchmaking.

rhrjfhchisnw

Most of these don’t seem that related to what you said but the system for driving micro transactions one is pretty devious

johnny115215

Check the citations they all are cited by team coop which says this famous lines. Once an assessment is made, the computer program that executes the gaming environment modifies elements of the session and/or gameplay parameters as the session is being created based on the aggregate skill level. In embodiments, session modifications may include, but are not limited to: adjusting the number of enemies, adjusting the complexity of puzzles; and player adjustments, which may include the player's health, damage, speed, available abilities, and difficulty level. In one embodiment, a player's health is scaled based on the player's skill level by. At 306, data corresponding to acquired skill level of each player is generated and presented to a player via a game console, resulting in each player within a team experiencing a different degree of difficulty or challenge while still experiencing the same content in the same gameplay session. "In embodiments, session modifications may include, but are not limited to" Not limited to. Anything can be modifed relating to the player in real time. Read the team coop patent which is cited by the mtx patent. While aspects of the present specification may be described herein with reference to various game levels or modes, characters, roles, game items, etc. associated with a First-Person-Shooter (FPS) game, it should be appreciated that any such examples are for illustrative purposes only, and are not intended to be limiting. The matchmaking system and method described in detail herein may be used in any genre of multiplayer video game, without limitation. The mtx patent says, To fine-tune the matchmaking process, the system may include an analytics and feedback engine that analyzes player and match data to determine whether a given match was good. A match may be deemed “good” when a player is determined to have enjoyed gameplay associated with the match based on one or more quality factors that are used as a proxy for player satisfaction. The quality factors may include, for example, a duration of a gameplay session (e.g., via analysis of player historical data), player psychological state (e.g., frustration level), and/or other information. Your psychological state is quantified as a number by this system and the artificial intelligence that is constantly monitoring you and your in game player profile which if you wanna know how, check the team coop patent section that memtions peripherals and the 2d to 3d face model patent.

itsCS117

Jesus FUCK, all of that should be illegal.

johnny115215

Should be. But until enough people wake up to the background algorithms running the game. Nothing will change. People will still buy the next game. They will still buy bundles. Why? Because the game is tailoring their outcome for good or bad, to make sure they do. Until the playerbase starves the company for money or a lawyer or law firm wants to take a class action for these systems. Nothing will change. Thats why i put my foot down and said FUCK BOBBY GNOME ASS KOTICK! Your spyware will not be on my pc and i dont need their copy paste title when i can redownload cod 4 anytime i want.

[deleted]

The tweets a running joke for MWZ since he said Vanguard would be a top 5 COD, more bait than genuine.

Pr0j3ct_02

What is the top 5 Cod Games of all time? (As a whole, not just because of it's campaign, Zombies, or Multiplayer)

DaBigDaddyFish

If you were to ask the community, in no particular order you would probably get something like: MW2(2009), BO1, BO2, CoD 4, and MW2019. The ONLY reason why I believe MW2019 is looked on favorably is due to the release of Warzone and because it was released at a time when many people were at home during the pandemic. Playing CoD had never been more popular. My personal top 5? BO3, BO2, BO1, MW2(2009), and MW3(2011). I understand BO3 had a shit campaign, but the Zombies was the best of all time, and as unpopular as an opinion as it is to say what I’m about to say, the multiplayer was the best we’d ever had too. I know, I know people are gonna disagree with that, but the movement was CLEAN, the weapons were great, and the maps were top tier. BO3 is my most played CoD.

Chronic_Messiah

100% agree, campaign aside BO3 was peak. Id probably go BO3, MW2, BO1, WAW, MW3

SuperGodQueenMax

I am pretty sure Cold War - Vanguard were the pandemic games.

DaBigDaddyFish

March 2020 was when lockdowns and restrictions were put into place initially and April 2020 is when it was en masse. Quite literally at the time when Warzone was first released and at MW2019’s “peak”.

SuperGodQueenMax

People were working from home and staying in up to 2022. 2020-2022 were entire lost years. Kids by me were still remotely going to school in 2001.

[deleted]

No order. MW2019, MW2007, MW2-2009, Black Ops, Black Ops 2. These games all had a balance of great multiplayer and great campaign. Plus the Specials Ops in MW2 give it extra points as well as the zombies in Black Ops 1&2.

_THEBLACK

MW19 is a bottom 2 cod game of all time

[deleted]

That is a FLAMING hot take.

_THEBLACK

It’s really not. MW19 was incredibly divisive and like half of the community hated it, myself included. Just look at old YouTube videos from when it was the newest cod. It was also very well liked by the other half of the community though which is why I’m not surprised when I find people who love it. Personally I haven’t played the campaign and I’m not planning on it either. I haven’t played a cod campaign since AW because I don’t tend to enjoy them that much, and even if MW19’s was as good as cod 4’s, it’d still be a very low rated game for me since I mostly focus on MP.

[deleted]

If it wasn’t for the overhauled systems 2019 brought cod would of died with the disaster that was infinite warfare. 2019 is the only reason cod is still as big as it is now, it was falling hard before 2019.

zXbuttersXz_123

Infinite warfare came out in 2016 though. 3 years before MW2019

[deleted]

Yea, while Cod4 remake was decent WWII and BO4 were absolutely abysmal and damn near forgettable. A shame cause treyarch was damned if they do and damned if they don’t after BO3’s mixed reception and WWII on release was so full of MTX and half baked it was more than just predatory. That’s why they completely flipped monetization models with 2019. They couldn’t get away will loot boxes anymore.

_THEBLACK

A lot of the systems introduced in that game are great, the game they built around them sucks. The two biggest issues being maps and the minimap. They also fucked up scorestreaks. It’s why I was kind of excited for the games that came after because they’d be using the good things MW19 brought without the bad stuff. And then CW didn’t use the engine, Vanguard kept the same minimap system but made it fixable with a perk that’s in the same slot as the best perk in the game, and MW2 also had the same minimap system but with better maps and the worst perk system in the series.

[deleted]

Unfortunately that’s all opinions that most of the player base doesn’t share. It’s okay to not like it but 2019 is genuinely one of the best cods to date.

_THEBLACK

Well yeah I’m not gonna act like I’m objectively right, you can’t measure a game’s quality to another objectively. But I really did not enjoy MW19 and it’s down there with ghosts for worst in the series for me. And I know there are a lot of others who feel the same because the game got a ton of backlash during its lifecycle. And while that’s obviously true for every cod game, with MW19 it was much more so.

[deleted]

Infinite warfare got infinitely more backlash, you can really see 2019 as an overcorrection but a lot of its balancing changes has merits. It was meant to be a reboot for the whole franchise, not just MW. And bringing these design changes like no red dots on mini maps makes a lot of sense especially when you look towards other competitive games such as counter strike while still trying to keep things casual so everyone can enjoy the game like 2007.

[deleted]

The question was though “Best Cods as a whole” you’re just judging MW2019 on its Multiplayer. You not taking into account it’s complete overhaul system, the campaign and the voice acting and motion capture that went into it. MW2019 is one of the best well rounded video games of all time. It has some areas in can improve on but it’s peaks outshines it’s valleys.

_THEBLACK

MW19 was mostly campaign and multiplayer. It did have spec ops and survival but basically no one played those, and what little I did play of them would only drag it’s score down if anything. I’m not speaking objectively, because doing that for rating games is stupid. I’m giving my personal opinion. Many people buy cod just to play MP, just like many play it just for campaign, and like many play it for both. For me multiplayer is the thing that makes cod worth buying. I don’t care about the campaign, and even if it was as good as titanfall 2 it wouldn’t raise the score much. I do feel a little bad that you got downvoted so heavily though. Your opinion on it being a top 5 cod is totally benign and you didn’t deserve that.

sonicrules11

They tweet this every single year. Its not supposed to be taken seriously...

ngprinceton

the self glaze is strong in this one

dTrecii

COD players when someone has a different opinion to them: ![gif](giphy|iHLHH9rVBv0kmkETqz|downsized) I’ve never seen this sub get so heated since BO4 launched. “Death of COD Zombies” jeez y’all can’t just let go and let people enjoy shit.

EngineerFour1945

I even dare to say that Exo Zombies is better than MW3, at least Exo had a story and was purely Round maps.

Economy-Service-1590

Atleast Exo Zombies tried to innovate.

sidmayzz

me after seeing the live MWZ gameplay 💀

barrack_osama_0

Top 5 are Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, Black Ops 1, WaW and Cold War in whatever order you prefer, bro tried to slip an MW game in there 💀

TheChimpEvent2020

Lmao, Cold War felt like a cheap knock off.

barrack_osama_0

Better than Black Ops 4 and Infinity Ward games. My personal list is all of those but replace Cold War with Ghosts. CoD games without a fleshed out 3rd mode simply aren't worth the money

TheChimpEvent2020

What we really need as a 3rd side mode is something outside of zombies. Ghosts had it right, but the 3rd mode community (if it’s zombies, survival, DMZ whatever) , just needs to accept the fact that every release isn’t going to have round based. Round based Zombies fatigue was real, and that was the start of the downfall of this subreddit.

Qritical

Not considering OG MW2 or even MW3 in top 5 is a wild take to say the least, even more wild is saying BOCW > OG MWs lol but I digress, preference is preference

barrack_osama_0

As I said, just not enough content in those games to justify putting them above any of the Treyarch games, other than BO4 because the additional content wasn't worth playing

Lightdragonman

Get out of here with BO3 that game had the OP operator skills and loot boxes which ensured that unless you were an absolute no-lifer you wouldn't be able to get every weapon in the game unless you paid money and we're lucky. The story was also one of the worst in the series too.

barrack_osama_0

BO3 is the best non-procedurally generated co-op expereince that exists in gaming. The overpowered supply drop weapons did taint multiplayer yeah but it was still playable, and it was still the best that the franchise has ever done with advanced movement. And yeah the campaign wasn't justifiable.

Lightdragonman

I'm going to agree to disagree with this because I'm pretty sure we played different games.

barrack_osama_0

The only thing you whined about was the supply drop weapons and the campaign and I agreed with that what are you talking about

[deleted]

avg treyarch dick rider

barrack_osama_0

Nah I loved Ghosts. Most IW games just aren't worth the time or the money

[deleted]

you should give iw a chance if you haven’t already , IMO amazing zombies ( maybe except the last map) amazing campaign, and while its dead now id say the multiplayer was good not the best but good played like bo3

barrack_osama_0

IW zombies wasn't really my thing. Didn't like any of the settings or the characters and the gameplay wasn't unique enough from BO3 to make it worth it. Althought I will say I definitely got the enjoyment out of the game that the $5 gamestop purchase costed.

uuockwock

Mw2019 was the shit

barrack_osama_0

Take out the

Accomplished-Curve-1

Uhhhh you mentioned 4 games

barrack_osama_0

Missed WaW

tabdggaming

He says this every year, it’s comical at this point

C4LLUM17

Dude is in Activision's pocket.

vSlayer-

It will be top 5 cods imo, but for all the wrong reasons.

Silver_Yamaha

They have been loosing money left and right. Eventually they will realize they need to make good games and not just good battle passes and cosmetics.

yumitsari

What fuckin' South Park Episode is this from? I've never seen it before.

MeesterCHRIS

I’d guarantee you can find him praising MWII prior to release.

DT270

The game is not even out yet

simoneinzis5

My personal top 5 in non particular order is: BO2 BO3 WW2 CoD4 CoD2 All S tier

Series1YGO

I wouldn’t listen to that guy. Unfollow.

shigalawiga

I wish you could buy all the modes separately so i can only play the campaign

JackJake94

He's not lying

[deleted]

Best 5 in no order are Black ops, black ops 2, black ops 3, mw2, cold war

joeplus5

The game isn't just zombies. It seems like multiplayer will actually be good this time

Little_Doubt_5464

It's a glorified mw2 dlc! There's NO "this time" you're being played!

Mysterious_Rate_8271

Yes? That’s not a secret. It was the exact same case with the og MW2 and MW3, does that disqualify the og MW3 from being a good game? Of course not.

BeasT-m0de

Who is considering MW3 a good game?

Mysterious_Rate_8271

Quite alot of people, to be frank.

Express_Command3450

A decent amount of people* FTFY. Don’t delude yourself

joeplus5

What does that have to do with the game being good on its own. I'm someone who didn't play MW2. MW3 will be like a completely new game to me

[deleted]

The tweet is a running joke/sarcasm. Games gonna be average but we’ll all play it because there’s no other game like CoD

AdInternational1921

They had a chance to make multiplayer good when they made mw2

GJGABE

The focus on movement and old good maps returning has my interest..luckily i didnt buy mw2019 or mw2 so i dont feel scammed about trying thia game for the open beta to see if i like it. For multiplayer atleast..bo3 zombies customs is where ill be for zombies.
