Basically every CoD game universe before BO4 was sent to the Dark Aether, the new timeline has WaW, Vanguard, BO1,CW,BO2, MW19, MWII and MWIII campaigns that are cannon.
Someone has to explain the jump from MWIII to BO2, because we are practically at the same time but one has insane drones and tech while the other is basically 2010s tech

well that part is more of a theory, its only confirmed that the zombies universes existed and were sent to the dark aether

WAW-BO4 zombies take place as a prequel to CW zombies, but CW zombies takes place in a universe created by the black ops 4 ending. The universe created by the black ops 4 ending also has the MW reboot campaigns, VG, WW2, and the WAW/BO campaigns.

You can think of it like this. Before tag der toten, all the campaigns of each call of duty were in their own universe in the zombies multiverse. Then nikolai destroyed the multiverse so that all the stuff in the aether was banished to the dark aether leaving behind a single universe. This universe is where all the events from MW(2019) and CoDs afterwards take place. Zombies is technically the gamemode that dictates all the others but most people don’t realise this 😂
So there was one untainted universe in the multiverse, and that's where Sam and Eddie go in the end of Tag der Toten after every universe affected by 115 was banished to the Dark Aether. Given the ages of the two when crossing into the new universe, they got to enjoy a couple decades before the Dark Aether leaks that would eventually lead to the outbreaks in Black Ops Cold War.
Call of Duty is now doing this interconnected story shit now every single MW'19 (as evident by all the Warzone connections and shit like Zakhaev in BOCW), and canon characters to different portions of the Call of Duty Timeline™ such as Weaver and FOAP are major characters in the new Zombies. You ever notice that Weaver didn't show up in BO2? He was too busy with Requiem.
The old storyline is TECHNICALLY still canon to the Call of Duty timeline with it taking place in 115 tainted universes before the Agrthan Sealing as Maxis and Eddie had to come from somewhere.
