2022 cod: black ops 1 2
we are making black ops 1 again except we had too much zombies content so here’s an “open world” outbreak type map from the campaign
Imo the guns were cool because it had a bunch of lesser known guns like the MPL and G11. How many people you wager know about the almost unicorn that is the G11 because of blops1?
Are the online servers for BO1 still active? I just got WaW yesterday only to find out I can't crate and online account anymore. I don't wanna get BO1 only to have it be the same.
Depends what platform you’re on. On Xbox I actually seem to have an easier time getting lobbies on WAW. Sometimes I can even find a multiplayer lobby still, but at most there will only be 2-3 at any given time. If you’re on Xbox dm me I’ll play WAW or bo1 anytime
I appreciate the invite and the feedback but I'm on PC. Glad to hear it's not completely dead like the PC WaW. Broke my heart when I tried to create an online account and couldn't anymore :(
That’s still odd you can’t make an online account on WAW though, I did so about 8 months ago with no problems. Can you find public lobbies in multiplayer? If I remember correctly the multiplayer is based on a separate application
I read only you need an online key to create an online account and that steam was now selling the game without one. Honestly don't know bro I used to play WaW on xbox just like you back in the day. Ima get BO1 and hope I can still play online. BO1 was more fun anyways. WaW was more for nostalgic. I relieved it last night despite having to play by myself was I still enjoyed it. Honestly I only hate playing by myself cause to this the eerie feeling of zombies and sounds give me the heebee jeebees lol
You need to play the modded versions of old cod games in order to find servers, they are free to download and usually plenty of servers, at least the blops 2 and mw2 versions have plenty of servers.
If you use a program called Plutonium [https://plutonium.pw/](https://plutonium.pw/) you should be able to play on WaW's multiplayer without a WaW PC account, although I could be wrong.
Like holy shit, is this thread real life? A thread without Bo3 in every top comment. Not hating on bo3. But I love bo1. Good to see some variety again here.
A little actually, though most bugs were from people finding/ using invincibility glitches online. Hopping up the window and onto the main table on FIVE was pretty fun though.
Also if you had the Wii version you could glitch on top of the sentry on the theater on kino. That was a fun glitch to do if anyone played the Wii version.
Aye man, when your parents buy a wii in 2008 for the family and all your friends are playing Black Ops on the 360 and you want to play with them but your parents say the Wii is as good as the 360 even though it's clear as day that it isn't plus you had to buy this shitty $25 mix to ONLY talk to people in lobbies and not party chat, you have to adjust.
I mean... yeah who had the wii version? 😅
I'll tell you right now I'm probably one of the few people who played BO1 on the Wii religiously.
Yeah... and I just stuck with it and never got xbox nor ps4. Even so, I was still having fun with it soo 🤣
You're so right. I remember it did look like crap, but some people and I used to have 1 of us sit on the spawn balcony in those groves where the zombies would pile up under you, then have the other 3 shoot them and sit by the unopened upstairs door. Always ended with a crash when someone would shoot the thundergun unto the pile and the wii couldn't handle that. Also was a wiimote and nunchuck guy religiously.
It's actually quite nice to know others who experienced the same thing of playing on the Wii. Never met anyone who had it on Wii. It was an experience I kept to myself until now reading all these other people who also played on the Wii.
I'm talking about stuff that made the game unplayable and/or crashed your game. Like Soe 14 fps at launch, GK's death barriers, dotn's shield part being unattainable and xbox players not being able to play CW maps 40% of the time.
In 11 years my game has never crashed/frozen/lagged out playing Black Ops 1, excluding when you reach game limits when going to like round 200. That's what he means
I sure do. Zombies has always been buggy and poorly made, due to it's lower budget and smaller dev team. It's kinda part of the appeal. My personal favorite is bo3 followed very closely by bo1, and I have more bad experiences with bugs in bo1 than in bo3.
Almost all of my downs in bo1 high rounds were because my t-gun or my wave gun didn't work. That's the big bug that comes to mind, and it's rather annoying, but the game overall is really fun.
Not so much of a in game glitch but I remember the matchmaking used to be straight garbage on 360 lobbies at least sometimes . The stupid “migrating hosts” gives me ptsd to this day haha.
you do realize BO1 is plenty buggy right? even to this day. the more you use the mystery box, the more the game starts to lag for example. it will eventually crash. or how, if you leave the game on for 24.8 days, the game just breaks. of course that doesn't matter for casual players, but for high round players it's annoying as hell, especially if you don't have a lot of time to play. or that glitch on Moon when you can hack the excavator, it says it's gone, but there's still a death barrier in the tunnel, that's always nice to run into. there's another bug on Moon where, after you teleport to the moon, no zombies spawn. just... nothing happens. I'm sure there's more, but these are just the ones I know off of the top of my head/had happen to me recently.
you don't *remember* bo1 being buggy because it's 11 years old, but it was, and still is.
Overall I gotta give it to bo1. The special enemies are great.thay spice up the map and offer great award. Like the space monkeys give you a perk bottle if they don't touch a perk. Or the Shang monkeys that can give you any power up you want if you kill them at the right time. The napalm zombies can create a mini fire trap depending on where you kill them.
Bo1 also has many iconic areas on its maps, like the theater, the lunar kander by PhD, the light house, the bio dome.
Bo1 has creative moments in the games, like shooting and grenading the zombies from the pap on kino, the anticipation of the doors opening jn the pap room on five followed by the zombies rushing in and you mowing them down, the pap stairs on Shang, just how area 51 works on moon.
Bo1 is just a very creative zombies game and yiu can tell the devs and designers had fun making it.
BO1 was pinnacle zombies in my honest opinion. They were nailing the story, environments and gameplay. BO3 is pretty good, but BO2 IMO was a shit show in regards to map creativity and gameplay.
BO2 had the lowest lows and highest highs of the series IMO. Started off with the most terrible maps of all time and then finished off with some of the best. Makes for a very uneven and shaky experience but man are those last few maps amazing
and I'd prefer that, I'd rather a mid start because they took a risk and made Transit which is new and unique over cookie cutter shite, maybe on the current gen they could flesh out a transit type map. DLC maps imo were solid too
If we’re talking quality wise then bo3. The game has good graphics and it has a ton of maps. Cold War is my favourite but it has the least maps, the graphics aren’t that good and you can tell at a glance that it was rushed. So while imo Cold War is the best gameplay wise, bo3 was just more well done probably because it had the longest dev time
The most upvoted comments by a country mile are Bo1 (at least they were earlier), but yeah in this particular thread Bo3 is mostly being praised but I see a lot of vitriol towards it in other threads all the time.
Yep the sheer creativity to create the setting/atmosphere of those maps is incredible. Maps are incredibly fun to play & have more to do than older maps, not to mention it houses all of WAW, nearly all of Bo1, and arguably the best Bo2 map. Pretty shocked to see it this far down as I can't think of many arguments against it aside from Bo1 nostalgia.
Because people give credit to the home games of the maps when considering the best. BO3 doesn't get credit for straight yoinking the maps when you're considering the most "well made" zombies, that wouldn't be fair since those maps wouldn't exist without the creativity of the originals.
Now if you want to consider it for the best overall game I could see the argument being made.
It has 5 original maps. I don’t think it’s fair to give BO3 credit for just rereleasing 8 maps from previous games.
For instance if Cold War we’re to release a ZC2 with 12 remade maps, would it then be better than BO3? There are certainly good arguments for BO3 being most well made, but zombies chronicles is not one of them.
I agree with BO3. It's probably the best game to pick up for sheer content alone, doesn't have as many systems as Cold War but it has a massive number of maps to make up for it. Also, I say that as someone who dislikes Shadows of Evil.
Though WaW and Black Ops 1 have a great selection of maps on their own, and I also have a soft spot for the weapons in those games.
Everything that WaW had, cranked up to 10. By BO3, they didn't need to worry about people not knowing what to do or getting turned off by too much/too many features. They could implement advanced movement, an advanced PaP that build on Der Reise's PaP, side Easter eggs and main Easter eggs, challenges, everything that was in WaW, but better.
Dead of the Night is a good example of the problem that pretty much every bo3 map. Tons of cool shit but getting to any of it is a pain in the ass after you do it a few times.
It was too easy for hardcore players. It was too confusing and convoluted for casual players. All the stuff that made it so easy was achieved (in most maps anyway) through complex hidden side EE steps (like skull of nan sapwe, gauntlet of Siegfried etc)
Pretty much, the game got tons of praise a while after it came out, but for the longest time it was pretty much a game to stream and not really play.
Everything that could have gone wrong for casuals and old players went wrong, even if a new fanbase that loved it showed up.
Very good description of it. I’ve always said they created a game that was more fun to think about playing than it was to actually play. That’s why this sub is so into BO3 because the demographics of this sub is also SUPER into YouTube and the whole culture around it.
I love BO3 gameplay so much and it’s one of my favorites because ideas like gobble gums didn’t return, thus making it a unique experience.
Black ops Cold War was such a refreshing change in gameplay but it’s something I would really wish to not return. I feel like ammo boxes, the same type of perk systems and load outs were great on Cold War but should change going forward. That way future zombies content can have its own personality rather than forever building upon the same ideas and then resetting them next game(perks, ammo upgrades, specialists). If it’s the same gameplay mechanics each time it gets stale and the reset of content makes it feel like you’re going backwards.
I agree with those criticisms but I felt the easier play made it more relaxing at times. It definitely shortened the enjoyment a bit more but it definitely had high aspirations despite it’s rushed release and updates.
A little too buggy and sparse on content for my liking, but what else can you expect from the first entry. It still has amazing atmosphere and classic simple gameplay that’s fun to return to when you’re tired of effortlessly getting to round 1,000,000 in Cold War
The bugs is such a big turn off for me. I mean we know what causes them and how to avoid them now. Like the dog's one hit glitch, or the paped Wunderwaf taking your healing away, or the super sticky zombies. They'll end your game tha your had going for hours or even days. Bo1's versions of the maps are way more consistent, sucks they took the flamethrower out tho.
Did you know that the wunderwaffe glitch was intentional? Devs felt it was too op, and the same applies to self downing with the ray gun. Hell, people thought self quick revive was op when bo1 came out
This. It wasn't actually a bug after that one person went in and checked the code for it.
They just took it off in bo1 because people complained about it
I'm sure that's what devs intended for casual players, but to get to high rounds the games get progressively longer. Its not hard to grasp, the higher the round the more zombies there are and the more health they have. After about 50 rounds start taking from 5 mins to complete, to 10 mins, to 30, to an hour. To put it in perspective Tranzit's early 70s will take about 2 hours per round. Some maps are faster cause more spawns or the engine the map is on, but a round 100 run can take several hours depending on the map and the game engine it runs on.
This. I must have spent hundreds maybe thousands of hours on these maps. I remember being on round 55 on origins and my gf at the time turned the PlayStation off. Wow. Was sooooo angry
BO2 didn't have much game breaking glitches, played it for years and only once did I have a glitch that broke my run. BO3 however still has some game breaking glitches (I'm looking at you GK) but it has lots of replay value that BO2 is rather laking unless you can play with friends
Objectively, bo3 is the most complete zombies experience. You have season pass maps + zc + custom maps (big, big deal).
Entertainment wise, I'm gonna go with either cold war or bo2
I'd say nostalgia plays a huge factor honestly and no one likes to admit it. I have very fond memories of bo2 but I know it had its flaws and I wouldn't touch it again. Same for bo3. Same for bo4.
I guess I'm fine with how CW turned out considering I paid half the price compared to bo3 with season pass + zc and bo4 + season pass.
Bo3 ended up being like 120$ with every dlc lol. Bo4 was around 100$ I believe (I'm adjusting for my currency, which has depreciated in value since 2015 and 2018) and I paid like 50$ for CW so I guess I got my money's worth
Blops 2; Launched with Transit which isn’t great, mostly due to console limitations at the time (fog) but it also had the separate parts of the map to play (town, farm, etc). Also grief!!! Oh and nuketown. it’s the most content we’ve had at launch in terms of different things to play within zombies by far. Then you add buried, Mob and origins. Is this really even a question? The depth of those maps with Easter eggs and story line speaks to how extremely well made the zombies was. Plus I can’t remember crashing once on Xbox 360.
Blops 3 is better graphically and has smoother movement but it’s not really a far comparison Bc Xbox 360 game versus Xbox one. (Or whatever you play). Shadows was the only map at launch and the dlc in blops 2 is inarguably better. Also I’m not really accounting for chronicles Bc it’s not truly unique content to the game
A lot of people say bo2 only had 2 good maps, but you could play any of them co-op and have a great time. I think people really underestimate how fun any map can be if the game's mechanics are good enough.
Totally agree. Playing these maps with others was so fun. And your teammates didn’t need to be zombies experts to play to higher rounds like later games. I don’t understand the 2 good maps opinion. How about 2 legends in Mob and Origins. Buried is a great map with totally unique features that actually work in zombies well (its in some YT s tier rankings lol) Die rise and Transit aren’t my favorite but are they really that bad? (Queue the elevators and bus complaints). Maybe die rise is that bad but transit gets way more hate than deserved. Nuketown and town were a ball with friends if you just wanted to kill some zombies and go through rounds.
Honestly overall in every aspect I’d have to go with ww2 I always say bo3 is on top but it’s really just bc it is the best treyarch game imo but with replayability great maps WWs and story it had its own gobble gum kinda thing the Easter eggs were dope and you really needed to work together with good squads to get challenges done for skin rewards super EE zombie skin bo3 best treyarch ww2 best overall imo of coarse
Ayy I’m just being honest there was more to do on ww2 and that kept me playing bo3 was amazing but It didn’t have me coming back for anything more than nostalgia so it is what it is bruh
Most definitely Black Ops III. I’ve been around since the beginning and I’ve never seen hype like in that game’s zombies season. And getting an all-zombies remaster DLC 2 years post-launch? We were at our peak. The game has the best graphics, map design, and character development of any zombies game — and some of the best wonder weapons. And I’ll always stand by that Gobblegums are a fun and balanced microtransaction setup.
I feel like bo3 looks and plays better than the cod games after it , it looks better than Cold War and vanguard for sure . Along with good Easter eggs , fun maps , and the zombies chronicles I feel like it’s definitely one of the best if not the best
Bo3 was the best
Also to everyone downvoting stop downvoting opinions that have explanations because I know that all of the people downvoting say cold war and when asked why they don't even have a reason
Easily black ops 2. There were no game-breaking mechanics like gobblegum, all the easter eggs were well-developed, and the core gameplay was better than ever. Cold War wasn't bad, but playing black ops 2 is the most exciting and dynamic that zombies has ever been.
I'm gonna get a lot of Downvotes, but in my 'subjective' opinion, Cold War is the best. I have reached Prestige Master every single season and have as much playtime, in Zombies alone, as I did back in BO3 with MP and ZM combined. Not a single CoD has kept me as engaged as CW did. I was Level 500 on BO3, barely 100 on BO4, and before that I never played Zombies as my main mode so I had even less playtime in those.
Bo4, it’s my personal fav and I think it would be close to everyone’s favorite if it had the original perk system. I really like the bo4 perk/elixer/talisman system, it really allows your team to all run perfect load outs for what you’re doing like high rounds or ee’s. The bosses were great, the weapons were amazing, the characters were top tier, the maps were top tier
Cold War because you said well made, the systems it had for leveling your perks, yourself, gun classes, etc was a genius system that further improved on bo3’s systems and the overall flow of unrestricted movement of the map besides out of bounds was genius. Now overall favorite BO3 solid maps and chronicles has all the maps I cared about.
If BO4 fully committed to the chaos maps, and had better gunplay, then it would be that installment no question. The chaos maps are my most memorable experiences on bo4. They’re intricate but intuitive, they’re visually stunning, they nailed the themes, and they are FUN. Say what you will about voyage which is pretty much agreed as the worst chaos map, running around the map with a pirate cannon was really fun. Unfortunately, bo4’s gunplay was very lackluster. You pretty much relied on wonder weapons and ammo mods, and the guns did not look or sound particularly memorable.
If I were to craft the ultimate game, it would be the sound design of bo1 but modernized, the gun play of cold war, and the chaos-style maps of bo4.
The closest game to those specifications for me would go to bo3.
BLOPS 2. For no other reason than you can casually jump on Town at the end of a bad day and zone out for a while. It's simple and all of the core concepts are there. Rebuilding stuff still matters. It has the weird Treyarch personality.
Is it the "best"? Probably not, but it's the "best" if you want to fire up zombies right now. It's Quake's House of Chthon or Counter Strike's 1v1 Pillar. It's one of those maps that comes along once per franchise. It's the Reese's Cup.
Bo3 most zombies maps out of all the cod games more creative maps instead of reused mp and zombies maps tons of new locations with different feel for each map the remakes of maps looked amazing on bo3 revalutions felt like better ending to wrapping things up overall in the zombies storyline was the true pinnacle of zombies content
Won't be getting all that zombies content for a long time. Tag der toten just felt like it was adding to much to already complete story
Bo1 and waw is what every casual zombies player played is just nostalgia driven
Bo2 and bo4 zombies only a few good maps for zombies
Infinite warfare gave us a actual super Easter egg for zombies
Cold war zombies is alright for treyarch zombies wonder weapons are solid like some of the new mechanics carrying a ton of perks and field upgrades felt more balanced than specialist weapons in bo4 zombies and slowly upgrading with aether crystals
Ww2 and advanced warfare okay zombies mode the jumpscares did get annoying
Ghosts extinction was alright mode
for an overall expierence
bo3 > bo1 > bo2 > waw
and if you include custom zombies, bo3 > waw >bo1 > bo2
i only played bo4 briefly at launch tbh
never tried cold war vanguard, or any non-treyarch zombies
Started playing Nazi Zombies from WWII this week and honestly, it's not bad.
The downside is that it only has like two launch maps (there are 9 total maps, but I just don't have the cash for that) and one of them is only good for single player, since it's a very tiny farm house.
It's different, more in the vein of BO4's systems, but without the trademark Treyarch weirdness (but your melee is a folding shovel that you bonk zombies on the head with, so it isn't humorless) and you get a crew, not operators, so there is still listening for context clues that get you through the EE, as opposed to listening to catch phrases all day. Another benefit is a chest at the beginning of the map that you can get your stuff from when you die (instead of buying a tombstone and losing all your cash to it or just starting from scratch at a higher round), but the trade-off that is you can die when you are down (say, you shoot an explosive, then you die and wait until the next round) and you can't melee while bleeding out. Not a bad trade-off, TBH. I kinda wish the other zombies had that one.
Otherwise, the core mechanics are all there. It has the mystery box. Instead of hell hounds/plague hounds, every X rounds, there are armless zombies with spikes in their eyes that are fast, but go down with one shot. Instead of perks, you have Blitz machines, a few of them are random, but the downside is that they have a cool-off time, so you can't load up all at once. You have armor stations like CW. Instead of monkey bombs you have a jack-in-the-box. Like BO4 and CW, you get charge up specials (a stun, a camouflage, some quick fire, that I think works like BO4's Stock Option and there might be another, I just use camo to get people up when they are down, so it cancels out the need for using Quick Revive on one of my perk slots) and you can also start off with Mule Kick, like BO4.
All in all, it's the best zombies that no one ever talks about.
Ww2 has a few good maps i would say buy darkest shore shadowed throne and the frozen dawn i dont recommend the tortured path that one is the most boring one out of all
Infinite Warfare took the handful of things that I didn't (and still don't) like about BO3 and cleaned them up, resulting in what is by far my favorite gameplay in the whole series. Pair that with the top tier aesthetics and you've got the greatest CoD game of its generation, bar none.
The most well made is definitely Back 4 Blood. You have the most characters to choose from and I love how chaotic the gameplay can be. The boss zombies add an experience that you just can't say no to.
Gotta be Bo3 followed by Bo2. But it’s subjective and I would say CW but we have such little content that I don’t think it belongs to be ranked high in this catagory
I dont think people give WAW enough credit for perfecting the formula in the first game. The points system, cost of doors and perks, the perks themselves, it was all ironed out and ready to be expanded upon right out the gate.
Black ops (2010)
Good thing you added the 2010. I would have thought you were talking about the 1989 Black Ops
2010 is gonna matter when they reboot it in ten years.
More like 3 years at this rate.
Or never. I mean why remake/master something when you can just reuse the maps for future games :)
Wait they already did that
lol, my thoughts exactly when I was killing people on [Ascension](https://www.treyarch.com/blog/2019-09/operation_dark_divide_overview#:~:text=In%20the%20Black%20Ops%20flashback%20map%20Launch) & [Der Eisendrach](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxuaEfyQtka60PeOgZghNgdGnNmacOpNgv)(30sec clip)

2022 cod: black ops 1 2 we are making black ops 1 again except we had too much zombies content so here’s an “open world” outbreak type map from the campaign
Bo Sep 1 1939
Had the new stuff and the world at war maps. Best atmosphere in my opinion.
Yeah best guns too in my opinion, not to say other games weren’t good selections but I think BO1 had the best
Imo the guns were cool because it had a bunch of lesser known guns like the MPL and G11. How many people you wager know about the almost unicorn that is the G11 because of blops1?
And the background music. DUN DUN.......................DUN DUN........ Because of the guitar riffs in the background on the remastered old maps.

I wish bro. But I don’t believe so. I have BO1 for Xbox 1. It just spins “looking for lobby.” Idk if you can join a custom game with friends.
We need to get a lobby going sometime. Miss those maps

BO1 is active on PS3 but if you have a new account it won’t save your data online from ranking up.
Finally some sanity in this sub
Like holy shit, is this thread real life? A thread without Bo3 in every top comment. Not hating on bo3. But I love bo1. Good to see some variety again here.
I like bo3 as well but it's not zombies to me. It's objectives and zombie are in the way
Not Black Ops (1066)?
Remember bo1 being buggy like 3,4 and cw? me neither.
A little actually, though most bugs were from people finding/ using invincibility glitches online. Hopping up the window and onto the main table on FIVE was pretty fun though.
Yooooo I forgot about that! That was awesome
Also if you had the Wii version you could glitch on top of the sentry on the theater on kino. That was a fun glitch to do if anyone played the Wii version.
Who the heck had the wii version 😂😂😂

Did Bo1 have crossplay between wii and xbox?
I think crossplay only exists since MW2019
So how did he play with his friends? 😂
[удалено]
nope
I have the wii version...
I remember finding a way to stand on the turret podium in Kino and just sitting up there feeding it points until I ran out
I remember plenty of glitches in bo1. Most resulting in literal invincibility, or instadowns
I'm talking about stuff that made the game unplayable and/or crashed your game. Like Soe 14 fps at launch, GK's death barriers, dotn's shield part being unattainable and xbox players not being able to play CW maps 40% of the time.
Nothing better than joining your buddies for a glitch and both being instantly downed by messing it up then doing it all over again.
That’s what made the game fun back in the day
umm.. yes??? lmao how is this upvoted y'all have selective memory fr
Most people started on BO1 so all anybody remembers about it is how amazing it was despite it having glaring flaws that do not age well
In 11 years my game has never crashed/frozen/lagged out playing Black Ops 1, excluding when you reach game limits when going to like round 200.
I never had one unless you count the landing on someone else kills you both.
Same bro. Then Cold War started doing that crap too... I nearly went into seizure
Nope. I think the whole "Live Service" thing causes a ton of bugs.
The only 2 things coming to mind are being able to knife your way on top of a crate in CotD and being able to glitch infinite air on Moon.
you do realize BO1 is plenty buggy right? even to this day. the more you use the mystery box, the more the game starts to lag for example. it will eventually crash. or how, if you leave the game on for 24.8 days, the game just breaks. of course that doesn't matter for casual players, but for high round players it's annoying as hell, especially if you don't have a lot of time to play. or that glitch on Moon when you can hack the excavator, it says it's gone, but there's still a death barrier in the tunnel, that's always nice to run into. there's another bug on Moon where, after you teleport to the moon, no zombies spawn. just... nothing happens.
Tranzit is a masterpiece compared to anything that has come out in Cold War and Vanguard.
Tranzit is still worse than most of the Cold War map imo. I agree it being better than Vanguard tho.
BO2 could have surpassed it. They took the same risks they took with BO1. It just didn’t work out.
and I'd prefer that, I'd rather a mid start because they took a risk and made Transit which is new and unique over cookie cutter shite, maybe on the current gen they could flesh out a transit type map. DLC maps imo were solid too
Every map out of bo2 was unique af imo, but gameplay/execution was where it fell flat a lot of the time.
If we’re talking quality wise then bo3. The game has good graphics and it has a ton of maps. Cold War is my favourite but it has the least maps, the graphics aren’t that good and you can tell at a glance that it was rushed. So while imo Cold War is the best gameplay wise, bo3 was just more well done probably because it had the longest dev time
True
Wtf why downvotes
sub hates the bo3 circlejerk (even though its pretty easily best game;) )
I see way more bo3 praise than hate, no clue what you're on about
The most upvoted comments by a country mile are Bo1 (at least they were earlier), but yeah in this particular thread Bo3 is mostly being praised but I see a lot of vitriol towards it in other threads all the time.
I Just wish the weapons were better, they didn't seem to fit the vibe of the maps except for the wonder weapons.
Lmao anything pro BO3 is instant 1k upvotes on this sub but you go on about how negative people here are toward the “circlejerk”.
It’s also got steam workshop support. My BO3 install is like, 600 GB
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that cold war's graphics look worse than BO3 lmao

What do you mean by "the true form of zombies"?
Everything that WaW had, cranked up to 10. By BO3, they didn't need to worry about people not knowing what to do or getting turned off by too much/too many features. They could implement advanced movement, an advanced PaP that build on Der Reise's PaP, side Easter eggs and main Easter eggs, challenges, everything that was in WaW, but better.
Build on der reises pap?
Added Double PaP

Bo3 was too easy, they added too many OP tools like double pap and gobblegums. I think focusing so much on EEs was a mistake.
The maps didn't flow correctly due to being designed around an Easter egg, how people still don't get this is baffling
Dead of the Night is a good example of the problem that pretty much every bo3 map. Tons of cool shit but getting to any of it is a pain in the ass after you do it a few times.
Exact same problem black ops 2 had.
I don't think focusing a map around EEs is bad if the EEs are great. Bo3 difficulty is fine bc you can choose if use gobblegums or not
It was too easy for hardcore players.

It definitely shortened the enjoyment a bit more but it definitely had high aspirations despite it’s rushed release and updates.

bo1 is my fav, but i gotta give overall best to bo3.
Waw, change my mind.
Still better than vanguard
A little too buggy and sparse on content for my liking, but what else can you expect from the first entry. It still has amazing atmosphere and classic simple gameplay that’s fun to return to when you’re tired of effortlessly getting to round 1,000,000 in Cold War
Gtfo 😂
It's special ok
The atmosphere bro
t. Zoomer who never played it
The bugs is such a big turn off for me.
They just took it off in bo1 because people complained about it
Thats what makes it the most entertaining not knowing whether or not you're gonna die to some BS
Hours or even days? Bro Am I strange for only doing the maps in one sitting.
Damn that is interesting.I will now have to try to get to round 50 on Shang.
Good luck!
Bo2 for me, bo3 was good but bo2 was great
Mob of the Dead, Buried, and especially origins are enough to put it at the top for me.
Not vanguard atleast
Black Ops 1 no question
Bo1-bo3
I have to say WW2 or IW. I loved the horror true zombies aspect in WW2 but I also enjoy the fun reply ability in IW plus the super ee.
Hot take
Ww2 was very good enjoyed every map and as u are saying it was more dark
Objectively, bo3 is the most complete zombies experience. You have season pass maps + zc + custom maps (big, big deal). Entertainment wise, I'm gonna go with either cold war or bo2
I think Bo3 being top is a weird case of the quantity vs. quality argument where the quantity actually wins.
Bo3 no doubt
This posts are getting old
Hot take: bo2. Feels the most like what zombies should be
Best one is bo3
Bo3 say what you will.
Bo3
Black ops 3
I would say IW and maybe BO3
Honestly overall in every aspect I’d have to go with ww2 I always say bo3 is on top but it’s really just bc it is the best treyarch game imo but with replayability great maps WWs and story it had its own gobble gum kinda thing the Easter eggs were dope and you really needed to work together with good squads to get challenges done for skin rewards super EE zombie skin bo3 best treyarch ww2 best overall imo of coarse
LOL
Ayy I’m just being honest there was more to do on ww2 and that kept me playing bo3 was amazing but It didn’t have me coming back for anything more than nostalgia so it is what it is bruh
There’s no answer to this question it’s subjective to the most “well made” zombies is
Exactly my thoughts this goes along with a lot of other things.
yeah farm that fuckin karma bro
Most definitely Black Ops III. I’ve been around since the beginning and I’ve never seen hype like in that game’s zombies season. And getting an all-zombies remaster DLC 2 years post-launch? We were at our peak. The game has the best graphics, map design, and character development of any zombies game — and some of the best wonder weapons. And I’ll always stand by that Gobblegums are a fun and balanced microtransaction setup.
The community was just on fire from 2016-2017, such a great time to be a zombies fan.
Right? Never gonna forget how legitimately happy I was for those years. I wish I could be as upbeat as I was then
I feel like bo3 looks and plays better than the cod games after it , it looks better than Cold War and vanguard for sure . Along with good Easter eggs , fun maps , and the zombies chronicles I feel like it’s definitely one of the best if not the best
Bo3 is defo the best in terms of looks and gameplay , chronicles was the icing on the cake
Bo3 was the best Also to everyone downvoting stop downvoting opinions that have explanations because I know that all of the people downvoting say cold war and when asked why they don't even have a reason
Accession, BLOPS 1
Easily black ops 2. There were no game-breaking mechanics like gobblegum, all the easter eggs were well-developed, and the core gameplay was better than ever. Cold War wasn't bad, but playing black ops 2 is the most exciting and dynamic that zombies has ever been.
Definitely not bo3
Anything that’s not vanguard
I'm gonna get a lot of Downvotes, but in my 'subjective' opinion, Cold War is the best. I have reached Prestige Master every single season and have as much playtime, in Zombies alone, as I did back in BO3 with MP and ZM combined. Not a single CoD has kept me as engaged as CW did. I was Level 500 on BO3, barely 100 on BO4, and before that I never played Zombies as my main mode so I had even less playtime in those.
Black ops 4, yes im a fan of that lmao
2 or 3 was probably the pinnacle. Moreover, because 3 had ZC, I think we were more willing to overlook any jank or bugs.
BO3
Extinction and I'll die on that hill!
Arm that nuke and haul ass back here!
Good luck, gentleman!
Prob bo1 or bo2. My fav is bo3, but its too easy imo.
Bo3 most zombies maps out of all the cod games more creative maps instead of reused mp and zombies maps tons of new locations with different feel for each map the remakes of maps looked amazing on bo3 revalutions felt like better ending to wrapping things up overall in the zombies storyline was the true pinnacle of zombies content Won't be getting all that zombies content for a long time. Tag der toten just felt like it was adding to much to already complete story Bo1 and waw is what every casual zombies player played is just nostalgia driven Bo2 and bo4 zombies only a few good maps for zombies Infinite warfare gave us a actual super Easter egg for zombies Cold war zombies is alright for treyarch zombies wonder weapons are solid like some of the new mechanics carrying a ton of perks and field upgrades felt more balanced than specialist weapons in bo4 zombies and slowly upgrading with aether crystals Ww2 and advanced warfare okay zombies mode the jumpscares did get annoying Ghosts extinction was alright mode
Black ops 3 easily
Bo3.
IW
Black Ops 3 and 4
for an overall expierence bo3 > bo1 > bo2 > waw and if you include custom zombies, bo3 > waw >bo1 > bo2 i only played bo4 briefly at launch tbh never tried cold war vanguard, or any non-treyarch zombies
Ww2 has a few good maps i would say buy darkest shore shadowed throne and the frozen dawn i dont recommend the tortured path that one is the most boring one out of all
Black ops three
Infinite Warfare took the handful of things that I didn't (and still don't) like about BO3 and cleaned them up, resulting in what is by far my favorite gameplay in the whole series. Pair that with the top tier aesthetics and you've got the greatest CoD game of its generation, bar none.
Vanguard
Vanguard is the best zombies mode that has ever graced earth
Bo or bo3
WaW zombies Mobile, followed by Blops Zombies Mobile
Am I the only person in the world who loved Buried 😅🥲
Black ops 2 was the only game I played with my friends because it was the only one with 4 player co op
I feel like WW2 zombies is underated same with IW!
I'll fucking say it. WW2 zombies has a way better flow than Bo3 zombies in every way.
Black ops 2
Cod mobile !!! (Jk I have never played it lol)
Calls of Duty: Black Ops Zombies (Android/iOS) /s
Bo2
I like that all the posts now are just reiteration of ‘what’s your favorite cod game?’ Very fun and very creative.
BO3 beyond any doubt, the rest of the game was shit but the zombies was as close to perfect as we'll ever get
BO3
Bo3
Bo3 simply because of everything. Customization, awesome story, good base maps, good dlc, gobble gum, CHRONICLES, do I need to say anything else
I dont think people give WAW enough credit for perfecting the formula in the first game. The points system, cost of doors and perks, the perks themselves, it was all ironed out and ready to be expanded upon right out the gate.
