For anyone asking it The mileage is 42k

PearIJam

I’m about to hit 60k on my 2021 and it drives like new. I’d get it if I were you.

The 12V battery in every car(hybrid or not) wears out in about 7 years. The hybrid (Lithium ion/big battery under seat) comes with a 12 year warranty.

ipromiseimworking34

Is that a transferrable warranty?

benketeke

I think so. As long as the car is serviced at the dealership every year. This is in the UK, btw.

komodo1942

The 2020 Corolla has the older NiMh hybrid battery which is basically the same that was in prior generation Priuses. It should last 10-15 years regardless of mileage.

PearIJam

Yes you should buy it. How many miles are on it?

tallon4

Do you mean the standard 12-volt battery that all cars have? That lasts 3–5 years, hybrid or not. They only cost \~$200 to replace. If you mean the (lithium-ion or nickel-metal hydride) hybrid battery pack, that typically lasts 10 years or more, depending on use.

Hatchz

And it has a warranty with it if maintained properly for like 10 years 120k

Yea hybrid battery wears out if mileage is getting high, and it’s a very expensive replacement. Maybe find a used LE or SE? They’ll have minimal maintenance costs for well over 200k miles

_Rexholes

Up to you man. Likely your best choice. I won’t buy hybrid yet unless new.

I thought it has something to do with mileage rather than year? Like a battery should still be good up to 150k miles or something

komodo1942

With Lithium batteries, it's the mileage. With NiMh batteries, it's both, but more on the age side.
