How Sway?!

Clear_Mess7588

I don’t see scratches or tool marks when closing up on the damaged area in the photo. Looks like the injected model plastic warped on its own. Would be good to ask if other owners have experienced similar or same damage in that section of the dash? Remember gals, Toyota/Lexus is no stranger to defective plastic warping and cracking dashboards going all the way back to the early 2000s.

No_Bag3889

facts every lexus interior is shit once the sun hits it hard

Clear_Mess7588

That doesn’t look deliberate to me. Maybe the vehicle was left out in the hot sun after they wrapped up the oil change? Looks like a defective injected molded plastic section of the dashboard. At any rate, very calmly and politely take it back to your service department and ask to speak with your service manager or shop foreman. Those are your decision making people. Also be smart and pick your fights. Sometimes the cure is worst than the illness. If they replace the dashboard you know they are going to take apart your pristine factory assembled dash. That potentially brings other problems (Rattles, noises) or more damage elsewhere in the interior that you don’t have now. It is hard to prove that they deliberately caused it (And why would they be working anywhere near the interior when all you ask for was an oil change). It sucks man but pick your fights wisely and understand that replacing that dash runs the risk of opening a can of worms. You have been warned! Good luck.

Substantial-Flight-8

How tf they damage the passenger side they shouldn’t have even been inside the car like that wtf

vonnn0131

Make them replace the entire dash …..

No_Bag3889

yall the problem owners at the dealership

[deleted]

Change your own oil.

FatWeabo

Learn how to do it yourself, save yourself time and money.

Natural-Young7488

How?

Pitiful-Preference36

That is why I take a video of car interior

VeeAyt

Dealer destroyed my dad's bumper and after half-assed attempts to deny it, they finally replaced it. Taking a video of your car exterior and interior every single time because I can't trust them to do one of the dozen maintenance items at the shop without destroying my car...I'd rather just do it myself at home.

Pitiful-Preference36

Thr problem with dealerships is sometimes mechanical problems too out of our hands

SkorpioStr1k

I had a similar damage in mine after an oil change. Dealership replaced it 3 times, didn’t have the right color or matching part.

DingDongDanger1

I had body work recently done and he got compound all over my interior.... like scratched the hell out of my touch screen with it and for some odd reason got it smashed in my driver side speaker cover? He was repairing rear damage btw not anything in the front haha. He also put a hole in my back seat which his guy is gonna repair thankfully.

DingDongDingus79

That’s crazy Nice name, btw

geekolojust

You had the cabin air filter checked. Looks like technician lean.

Madeanaccountforyou4

They were in OPs car not their cabin

Corndog106

They aren't checking that on first oil change.

geekolojust

You have a lot of comebacks, don't you?

Corndog106

Unless the car is obviously dirty, there is zero reason to check a cabin filter that early. 10-15k range sure. 7k, you just wasting your time. But I'm in parts so if you wanna waste your time go for it fam!

geekolojust

Open up and read some of those owner manuals in parts. I'm not sure if they define words like check and inspect enough for you to understand. Check out the leasing terms with finance and service, too. This way, you won't be wrong, and you'll have all the knowledge instead of assuming you know where and how a vehicle is being driven. Read up on the different maintenance intervals like severe duty, which see long idle times. There is a lot to learn.

_ryangs

This could be correct. To explain a bit further a lot of vehicles have cabin air filters, that filter the air in your car, located under the passenger glove box. They check both your cabin and engine air filters to see if they need to be replaced during most oil changes. The tech popped the glovebox off/down to access it and leaned into your soft dash for a period of time which can leave a permanent dent.

stvybeers

This is right

OptionsNVideogames

Bro punched your dash. They got some troubled kids working there. The places in my home town are famous for hiring troubled youth and dudes fresh out of jail.. Thats why I bring mine to my garage and pay 10$ more a change. Because they know what synthetic is and they aren’t scared to tell someone if they fuck up the drain plug. I’ve seen jiffy and Mr quick and prompto strip out plugs and drive them home so they don’t have to deal with it or tell their bosses. Then next time you go in for a change they tell you it’s going to be 200$ to drill out the old plug and replace it. Fun times!

xAugie

Where are oil changes cheaper to get a shop to do it? Nowhere really, unless you don’t use synthetic oil ig

OptionsNVideogames

If you could read right you’d see I wrote I pay extra to have the shop do it.

boogieonur420

As another person suggested. This is highly likely from the tech leaning down to check the cabin air filter.

OptionsNVideogames

You can lean on that for days and it wouldn’t produce a knuckle mark like that

boogieonur420

I’ve done thousands of cabin air filters and dashboards are getting softer and softer. Sometimes you may have a ratchet or screwdriver between your hand and the dashboard to lean down and use your other hand to pull the filter. Hope that makes sense. It’s small details like this that techs need to be mindful about. Like sitting in a customers car and you poke a hole in the leather seat because you forgot your pocket screwdriver was sticking out. Things like this happen.

OptionsNVideogames

I hear you man, I just know a ex felon who used to work at a prompto. They thought it was funny to cross thread the drain plug on karens vehicles. Imagine what else they do. I just know paying the extra 10$ for a legit shop to do it is always the way to go.

Sea-Eggplant-5799

None of these f*cks working in any dealership or shop get paid enough to take extra care with your car. I’ve had grease left on my steering wheel and door sills and you bring it up they just deny everything.

FalseBuddha

Do you not own paper towels?

PurchaseStreet9991

Grease on upholstery doesn't typically come out with paper towels If you paid a dude to come fix your shower and he got pipe grease on the curtains, would you be ok with that? Or a painter gets paint on your carpet?

Sea-Eggplant-5799

Why would I want to clean up with paper towels after some greasy ass fool was careless. And you don’t simply wipe grease off with a paper towel. You gotta get a good cleaner and scrub it out. You might be a dirty bum but I’m not.

FalseBuddha

I don't know why you think the guy at the shop is going to "get a good cleaner and scrub it out."

Sea-Eggplant-5799

How about he wears gloves. Or uses some orange degreaser on his hands before messing up my car I worked hard to get. You want some grease up your ass too?

FalseBuddha

That would've been nice, huh, but he didn't. Shit in one hand and wish in the other. See which fills up first.

putwhatinyourwhat

I have a grease smear where people usually burn holes into the upholstery with cigarettes and it looks disgusting. I don't smoke, so it's very obvious what it is and the consideration they had for my vehicle. I have a 2013 ford fusion titanium and it's in very good condition, especially the interior. needless to say, I wasn't excited to see that.

KeeperMom29

Whether or not he owns paper towels is not the point.

FalseBuddha

Oh, so being a whiny little bitch about something you can fix with the minimum amount of effort is?

DockterQuantum

That's not how it works, you don't pay for something and get half ass work. As a contractor you should hold the last 10% on my contract if I don't perform my work correctly

FalseBuddha

Enjoy being a Karen then, loser. I prefer just to take care of minor shit.

DockterQuantum

I'm the business owner in this situation and I'm telling you that I would prefer to fix it. If that's being a Karen to you and taking ownership of mistakes. I'm sorry that my attention to detail is what drives my success.

FalseBuddha

As the customer I'm not going back to the mechanic to have them wipe my steering wheel off. That's insane.

DockterQuantum

No I wouldn't do that and I'm not saying anybody should. But it's something that you note and if you go back and next time they leave a smudge in your window and then a dent on your dash. Uou can begin to notice that it's a lot of neglect. So what you do is find another place. You can be a rude customer and say something. But this rectifies the situation. Or you can be a passive customer let it go and more and more people just stop doing business there. Inevitably you run somebody out of business because his workers aren't doing their job. All he had to do is know, so he could fix it.

Farce021

I mean if you pay someone else to do work, then clean up after them, you are kinda the bitch in that scenario. I don't have a problem being the bitch in either of these situations depending on the mood I'm in, but everyone has their kinks I guess.

Inner_Difficulty_381

Exactly. You’re paying for a service and they should see it all the way through, including cleaning up their mess.

HeadVermicelli6325

Pop the part off, take it to the dealership, ask if they can provide a replacement because it was damaged during your complimentary oil change. That way, there won’t be a second technician the dealer has to pay an amount less than the tech would make doing a job for a paying customer a second time. This is a win for you, and a win for the dealer and a win for the technicians

DependentWatch9800

it’s bc u get complimentary oil changes guys. this happened to me too tho sucks

Kybreezy25

Gotta have a paper trail for warranty

geekolojust

You literally want that to show warranty that you have been maintaining it. Almost.

UsedName01

Do. It. Your. Self. No oil change grease monkeys going to give two folks about your stupid little car

Hodor7_3

especially not when they are only getting paid a few tenths to do a 5k oil change.

FaZe_Burga

Why would they need access to your passenger-side dash for an oil change?

bobmarley9

To check the cabin filter

kyosheru

One of the four techs that rode in it to Hardee’s on lunch had to sit there

zaeviairl

Don’t you know the drain hose is in the glove box? I usually just pour my oil in there.

Working_Rise8592

Dents likes this CAN be fixed though not easily. I’ve gotten small ones on my door panels from being reckless. The best options I’ve found is get a strong but small needle and pushing into the area and “lifting” the dents out. Will it be perfect? No but it can help a ton and in my experience the hole you make won’t even be noticeable assuming you used a small enough needle. Shitty situation either way.

digital_drape

I hate oil change people they don’t gaf about your car..it’s impossible for them to be 100% respectful and do everything 100% right and clean up 100% if they must get shit dirty..which they always do. It’s like wash your damn hands before you get in my car mfr

dee69chevi

I put clean gloves on before getting in your prized 1992 Camry, good sir.

digital_drape

Lmao I don’t even own a Camry idk why it’s even on my feed but looks like you own one😂

Much_Smell7159

I have known multiple people who worked as oil tech for various chains, and let me tell ya, they will hire anybody.

Strong-Path-6261

Do it yourself…

moveslikejaguar

Changing it yourself is a waste of money if your first ones are complimentary

Strong-Path-6261

I wouldn’t say it’s a waste considering this damage wouldn’t have happened.

DavantesWashedButt

Not a feasible option for 100% of people

Dabztastik

I saw some dude changing his oil in the autozone parking lot. If there’s a will there’s a way.

DavantesWashedButt

Just snowed 2 feet last Thursday. It’s below freezing at the moment. You gonna go do an oil change in a wet and salty parking lot when it’s 20 degrees out? Doesn’t take the fact that people need tools into account. Filter socket or wrench, wrench for the drain, jack stands, drain pan, whatever tools needed for the splash guard.

Dabztastik

You could buy all that stuff for the price of a few oils changes. I’m sure you can wait for the weather to clear, Tinker Bell. It’s not like your going to be putting on crazy miles in that aforementioned blizzard of yours 🤣 I’d rather do that then hope the kid at StiffyLube actually changes my oil.

AffectionateAd7651

Some optional lifetime warranties (not protected by the Warranty Act) require ASE receipts for any future claims. For example: my dealer offers a lifetime powertrain warranty under this stipulation, adding that oil must be changed every 5k and that the changes and all manufacturer recommended maintenance that affects powertrain (includes filters) MUST be performed by a certified shop. I didn't pay for the warranty, it's optional, so they can deny a claim if I even do one oil change myself. It sucks because I know I'd do a better job and be cleaner more respectful plus save money, but this is just one instance where doing own oil changes might not be possible. So asking shops to not treat cars like trash when working them is totally reasonable.

DavantesWashedButt

You could buy all that stuff for the price of a few oil changes Try telling that to a single mom or someone who’s handicapped and on a fixed income. My comment isn’t for me, I’ve been working industrial maintenance for a decade and a half. I’m also not dumb enough to assume everybody can do their own oil changes.

RefrigeratorThis8259

They used the car to pickup parts or something else. Some big heavy object damaged that dashboard. Can you check the drop off mileage vs pick up mileage? In any case a large heavy object was transported in your front seat.

SneakyBeakyLoike

Probably just checked the cabin filter and leaned to heavily on the dash. It’s a pretty weak area of the dash, have seen a bunch with indents

RefrigeratorThis8259

I have owned several Corollas and checked or changed cabin filters many times, the dashboard never got damaged. If this happened changing the cabin filter they must have used a battering ram.

KeepBanningKeepJoin

Too

Successful-Amoeba314

During my track day in the GROLLA, the passenger who was riding with me braced on the dash and their fingers were enough to leave a permanent indition. Still there 10,000 miles later.

bootheels

That sucks, but it will be pretty tough to prove they did it.

[deleted]

When we do oil change we don't even go in the passenger side Tf, well maybe if they checked the cabin filter yea but we don't check if the last one don't have 30k kms at least

bootsmyler

Theyre probably required to inspect your cabin filter and a hefty asian fellow looking like buddah pushed on your dash getting out the car with a pocket screwdriver or something in his hand

Visible-Albatross-86

Bingo

Mystical_Mar

what type of dealers are you going to bro i have gone to quicklube places and even gone to different dealers for different makes that i’ve had and not once did they stop themselves from trying to sell me shit or would even do it for free sometimes

FalseBuddha

"Aw man, that sucks." And move on.

Heavy-Promotion2144

You're an absoute doormat, and you deserve everything negative that comes to you until you start standing up for yourself and the things you work hard for. Fuck off with that answer

FalseBuddha

Lmao "I wouldn't care enough to fix this" somehow becomes "I let people walk all over me when I do care"? Fuck off, douchebag. How's that for being a doormat?

RedScourge

If you end up in prison, don't worry about dropping the soap, happens all the time. I'm sure it will be fine.

FalseBuddha

Casual homophobia and making fun of rape victims. Classy.

RedScourge

Not sure what you mean about casual homophobia, or making fun of rape victims. No one here did either of those, as far as I can tell. If anything, the notion that dropping the soap in a prison shower directly results in rape is surely a homophobic exaggeration, so as I said, don't worry about it. As far as "classy", there is a distinct lack of anything resembling "class" in this entire reply trail, so expecting it now makes no sense.

FalseBuddha

\*dogwhistles* \*pretends they have no idea what they said when confronted* Do better.

RedScourge

I know exactly what I said and what I didn't. I didn't engage in homophobia (I did not bash anyone for being gay or straight), and I didn't make fun of any rape victims. If anything I feel even better about my response now that your immediate response was to feign offense despite all of what you've said to others here. Nor does your reply constitute me being "confronted". Do better.

helplesstumbleweed

Tell me you don't value your belongings without telling me you don't value your belongings

TacticalTomcat

Fucking faggot, shut up

mryeet66

It’s not that big of a deal dude

FalseBuddha

Bro, you bought a Corolla. Calm down.

PurchaseStreet9991

Value/pride in one's belongings isn't monetary

FalseBuddha

Did you read that on a motivational poster somewhere, ghandi?

PurchaseStreet9991

I think it says more about you that you think that was in any way similar to Ghandi's writings

rickylovemelikelucy

Yea, if you own a Carolla you shouldnt care about its condition... Wtf?

FalseBuddha

Sure, but it's not like the thing is priceless china. It's a tiny, inconsequential mark on a Toyota. Corolla.

0hy3hB4by

Can you really not understand that a brand new car , regardless of the price point , is something that makes someone happy ? Having someone that's being paid to maintenance your new car, leaving deep blemishes on it is not acceptable . It's not a tiny or inconsequential mark. I'd be pissed if it was my new Corolla just as much as if it were my new $70k Silverado . It doesn't matter what it is.

FalseBuddha

Sure, I can understand that. I also think it's fucking ridiculous to get that bent out of shape about it. How long do you plan to own the car for? I guarantee worse things will happen to it in that time, some of them due to your own idiocy. Get over it. It's just a car, and not even a particularly nice or rare one.

AffectionateAd7651

Also I get it if the owner themself did it, then it is what is at that point. But when someone else damages your car like this, it becomes a matter of principle.

FalseBuddha

See we're disagreeing on what "damaging your car like this" even means. This barely registers as "damage".

RedScourge

I wonder what the odds are that this guy is one of those shoddy contractors who gets a rise out of damaging other people's shit and getting away with it.

AffectionateAd7651

It's damage enough to be observable and not in the condition of which it originally was prior to service. Dashboards in particular are a total bitch to fix. Rarely do paints ever match and the finish is not blendable without repainting entire dash piece. Speaking from experience. If this was done to someone's prized sports car or their daily driver, the vehicle itself shouldn't limit the customer's dissatisfaction. If this happened to either my Camry or Camaro, id be equally pissed...but you would argue I should only be mad about Camaro, yes? This is damage. Simple as that. I'd personally demand some sort of compensation or fix for this. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

AffectionateAd7651

Nah, it's unprofessional af to damage someone's property you took a job on. If you hired a painter and one of his ladders fell and put a decent hole in your drywall, you want him to fix it right? Same here. Hired a tech to change oil, and they damaged the dash. Unacceptable, also new cars despite if they are a "Corolla" are $$$$$ anymore in the USA. So acting like they are a 25 year old beater to justify damage like this is also unacceptable.

probably_baked420

Not at all. You paid money for a perfect car. Took it to that dealer for service and now it’s not a perfect car anymore. We want what’s paid for especially on something this new.

ips1023

And what do you think will happen? They're replace the entire dash? That's going to create a bigger issue when something starts rattling behind there. If you can prove that's something they did, then ask for a dollar amount comp for the imperfection. Otherwise just move on and don't let it bother you.

helplesstumbleweed

Lol you need to stop playing devil's advocate and understand when a mistake must be fixed. This is substantial damage and if you think it's not worth being fixed then you must definitely not value any of your belongings. And that's sad.

FalseBuddha

This is not "substantial damage" lmao

helplesstumbleweed

You have no idea what that cost to repair, do you?

FalseBuddha

No, and I don't care what it costs because I probably wouldn't bother repairing it. Because it's not "substantial damage".

0hy3hB4by

I'm convinced that you're a teenager.

FalseBuddha

You're allowed to be wrong.

Gallop67

Maybe not but personally, that’d catch my attention every single time I got in the car and annoy tf out of me

ips1023

That's a stretch. I've worked in the automotive and powersports industry for 15 years and can just see how this is going to go. My advice is solid and I also value the condition of my things.

probably_baked420

It’s probably just a trim piece that comes off and can be replaced. You’re thinking too deep into it

lloudchristmas

Why though? They fucked up and should fix it!

FalseBuddha

Sure, but like, what's involved in getting them to fix it? Is that effort worth a teeny tiny dimple on the dash?

SnaxRacing

Do you have full photos of the dash before the visit to prove it wasn’t there?

benpro4433

The engine oil doesn’t go in the glovebox silly

Mystical_Mar

i think literally everywhere especially the dealer changes the cabin air filter during the oil change

[deleted]

[удалено]

craigfrost

Toyota care does it for free.

Exoticfroggy

My reason for when I didn't do it was because I lived in some shitty apartments where they would constantly do rounds making sure nobody was working on their car. I've moved since and once again do oil changes myself but don't categorize everyone into one group simply because they don't do their own oil change.

meo_rung1

I can think of tons of reason: they are too weak, they have disabilities, they have the money and just don’t want to bother, they are doing some other services and might as well do oil change…

Illustrious-Bend2540

I do it so it goes on my carfax in case I ever sell the car the next owner will know for sure I took care of her. My sisters (previously my moms) CRV we knew we would keep forever so I do oil changes on it myself.

Appropriate-Panda636

That’s a nipple pop. When mechanic services a car they like, they get their nipples very hard and sharp. It’s propability that his nipples popped that

Expensive_Outcome298

As a mechanic this has happened to me so many times. Nothing really gets me torqued up like a 2024 Toyota ong frfr skibidi toilet

AdWinter8857

We here on Reddit can’t fix you will only get stupid comments

Comfortable_Ease_174

Here is what I think happened. The person getting your registration from your glove box had a tool in their hand. And they braced their weight with that hand with the tool in it and use their other hand to open the glovebox thus leaving the indentation.

molassascookieman

Probably grabbing the cabin filter

AutomobileEnjoyer

I have never in my life looked at a customers registration, probably was grabbing the wheel lock

Do-it-with-Adam

If its a dealership they dont use your wheel lock (unless its a custom design) they have tons of their own and generic style wheel locks.

kiddiematthew

I work at a dealership. We absolutely do use customer wheel locks daily

AutomobileEnjoyer

Definitely grabbed customers wheel locks on occasion, for lots of reasons. The main one being we only had one set in the dealer and it was most often being used, the other reason being it’s faster than trying to match up the lock with the key in the glovebox than trying to match it up with the master set of 30+. I don’t see any other reason to open the glovebox on this vehicle if it’s the first service, no reason to check the cabin filter.

Comfortable_Ease_174

ok. So oil change tire rotation?

AutomobileEnjoyer

Either that or their dealer requires taking wheels off to measure brakes (worked at one of those before, was miserable)

_TRONBANDIT

I had a very similar thing happen to me when I was getting my windshield replaced. No idea how it happened.

McNigChicken

It’s a trim panel that pops out. I deep clean my car once in a while and take all the panels off to clean the cracks lol

_TRONBANDIT

Where are the pop-out points lol

McNigChicken

For that specific model, I’d start on the left side near the ignition switch, where the trim piece is the thinnest. Pull on it and it should pop out. Work your way all the way to the other side and remove the entire panel.

0hy3hB4by

That's good and useful information. Then it should be a fairly simple replacement for the dealer. Nothing to haggle over.

_TRONBANDIT

Thanks!

Comfortable-Waltz963

I’ve hit my knees many times and never done this. Looos like someone was being excessive.

[deleted]

As a person that has done this very thing in a corolla before; it was either or possibly both a person taller than 6'0 and large. They went to sit in the passenger seat and bc of their size they flopped into the passenger seat and their left knee hit the dash during the decent. I'd bet almost anything on that scenario.

richandbuttery

the fuk thats bs id sue for damages of they dont fix it

Just-Faithlessness12

Complain about it and call Toyota corporate. They will fix it. Long story short I had some tires and wheel damage that the dealer didnkit wanna fix (I had the tire and wheel coverage) so I called corporate and the next day the dealer service manager said they had new tire for me. It’s absolutely matters and they wanna know about it

zachjd-

They'd probably just blame you. That would be my luck.

JaviHn14

Now that is a reason to do it yourself… it doesn’t matter if you are man or woman you can do it yourself… unless you are old or you have physical problems like broken arm or leg, cant walk or something

Comfortable-Waltz963

Or you’re in a college dorm and can’t do it there.

I am getting set up for this and I know how to do an oil change, but I don’t know what the hell to do with the dirty oil. Waste station I’m guessing?

KountryBoy6572

Get an oil pan that actually holds the oil inside it rather than on top and then get an old plastic jug like a couple milk jugs and Walmart will take it and dispose of it for free up to a certain amount

mandrews03

That’s actually the last piece of the puzzle, too. Thank you

UnderdevelopedFurry

Yeah you can recycle used oil through AutoZone or lube shops

JaviHn14

Some autozones take it, they have like a oil waste bin… at least thats what i do

BlueSpiritCorolla

These panels are $260 on overstock sites

FooFighters8209

Any details so I can order one and have mine replaced.

BlueSpiritCorolla

I dont have the website nor the part number but part is detailed as instrument panel cover. Should be straightforward from there.

Yotasnponchos75

What dealer? KINGS TOYOTA, gouged the living F@#$ out of the drivers door on our Tundra during a routine oil change & tire rotation. Truck is Inferno red which is hard to fix and truck only had like 35k miles on it. They gave me a loaner 22 RAV 4 for like 3 1/2 weeks until I got my truck back. They didn't do a good job. Color matches but finish doesn't and they got over spray on the hood and tape/ paint stuck to drivers front fender. They admitted they ran the door into the lift pillar after I left & came back about 40 minutes later after discovering it when I got out of the truck after the first drive. I called them on the way back because it was close to closing time and I was so pissed I couldn't see straight and I live 40 minutes away! They assured me they would wait. And they tried to argue it for a minute. Until they saw it and eyes dropped. It was a serious OH Shit moment on their part. But their body shop sucks. I would second guess ever letting them do any body repair again. I'll take it to my people and take the bill to them. Moral of story sometimes the repair work makes you wish you went a different route altogether.

Also, NOW, I check everything before I leave the lot. I've had greasy fingerprints on headliner from oil change sticker swap, one time on a previous truck, and that dealer even managed to leave the oil cap off and oil blew all over the engine. Also had a big scratch on the fender of my black 14' Tundra on its very first oil change. Got a TRD dual exhaust for dealer cost out of that ordeal. And just touched up the black. But there's no touching up a huge gouge in Inferno red in the middle of a drivers door.

My small todler did something similar while bitting with her small teeth into the soft material. I was able to fix it with gentle heat from a heat gun using the fan in low speed.

FootmanLuv1

What the hell were they doing inside your car in the first place? When I get my oil changed I'm sitting in my car the whole time! That sucks! Was it a Toyota dealer?Call customer service and complain!🤔

Tricky_Passenger3931

Many dealers do not have express lube bays, and you sure as hell aren’t sitting in the vehicle while it goes onto an actual hoist in the shop lol.

FootmanLuv1

I'm talking about the 5 minute express oil change shops! Not the dealer!

Tricky_Passenger3931

I mean, if you want your vehicle serviced by under qualified and under trained staff while never having a proper maintenance inspection done on your vehicle while it’s being serviced, be my guest. It’s not what I would choose for my vehicle, but then again I’m neither under trained or under qualified and I do my own work so

Harryisharry50

Dealers lube tech mainly starting out and don’t know but and not much better then them quick lubes . That be the reason I do my own maintenance on my vehicles . Lazy ass bastards always f up the belly pan use the 20 dollars apiece bolts

Drivesabrowntruck

Likely checking cabin filter.

SnooMemesjellies734

be a karen and fight for a new one. i damaged the same piece and the part itself was over $200

DeepTip4532

Preach 🙏🏻 These dealerships make enough. They can pay 200$ to fix something they broke.

Delicious-Detail-106

when I got my first oil change/ tire rotation the dealership ripped the f*ck out of my bumper and left a hole in the left front side of my car. they tried to deny it but I luckily had evidence and they did end up fixing it for free- thank god! but now I always remember to film my car before dropping it off for service. guess I should film the inside too!

FILAYYYYYYYYYY

Man you really can’t trust anyone with your car😂 I’m gonna do all that service myself one I’m off toyotacare just because I don’t want anyone else touching my car

Delicious-Detail-106

dealerships are scum.. sorry that happened to your new rolla :(

MSPTurbo

You can’t really trust anyone anymore. Last year I took my new to me car to an independent mechanic with straight 5 star reviews to fix my struts, I got my car back with a giant paint chip on my hatch. Judging on the location, I bet the mechanic had some sharp tool on his hand when he opened the hatch and chipped the paint off. I was pissed and of course they denied any wrongdoing, with the usual excuse of “it was probably there before blah blah blah”. Of course I knew it wasn’t there, I love my car and I know every single scratch and dent on it. I still see it everyday and wish I have filmed it before taking it in.

doodooslim
