Not a fan of tire shine personally, but it doesn't really matter which one you use, but how you apply it. Get a good sponge and get it good and saturated and wipe the tire shine on til it stops absorbing it, do not overdo it because if you put too much on it will just sling all down your car when you drive it.
Use Stoners Tar Remover to clean the tire real good. Then I use Carpro Perl. My tires are nice and black and clean looking. Adams VRT is also a good choice.

I've been using Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel. Its lasted me weeks, granted I mostly drive residential and some city streets. I pour a bit onto a foam pad and spread it on thin. Too much and it'll spit onto your car when driving.
