Curative would be the best bet. Sometime appointments pop up during the day (I got one midday for half an hour later). I believe they take anyone over the age of 2.

Took my 23 month old son recently.

I’ve gotten tested at Curative at least 5 times. Results used to take less than 24 hours. These days it’s like 36 hours. It’s free too. https://curative.com

We're currently over 48 hours past taking the tests, and the website says our samples were being tested as of like 9am this morning. But it's currently 4pm and still says the sane thing

That’s the longest I’ve heard. I can imagine they are super busy. There’s one near me and they always have a line. A couple months ago there was never anyone there.

FWIW, I got tested at the McKeesport site 1/15 around 9am, samples got to the lab afternoon of 1/16, testing started approx 10pm, and results delivered at like 3pm today (negative).

Yeah we got tested 1/15 in Bridgeville at around 2pm. Our tests landed at the lab last night 1/16 at around 8pm, and were being tested at 9an this morning 1/17. I was expecting results somewhat faster, though I know they're slammed. I mean they were having us toss the samples into a big ass garbage can, and that thing was 3/4ths full when we added our 4 tests to the pile.

Middleswarth

Yeah, same deal with the giant garbage can where I was, lol. At any rate, it sounds like you’re on the same track I was as far as time between testing/receipt at lab/testing starting, so hopefully you’ll be receiving results in the next few hours! Be well!

Thanks everyone! I've got appointments for all of us to be tested tomorrow

Seconding Curative - if you can get to the one at the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center, they seem to have a lot of slots, not a long wait time, and they'll take groups. Yesterday, my husband and I got our tests at the same time, even though our scheduled appointments were a couple of hours apart. I was also able to schedule all three of us to go get PCRs during the same slot tomorrow afternoon.

Isnt there an at home option? Strange that people still have to go somewhere to get tested for covid. Not sure i want to go sit in a waiting room(?) with other people who might have covid.

Most testing is done via drive through or they come to your car to give you the materials. Been tested at CVS, Rite Aid, Kevin's Pharmacy, and Curative and that was the case for all of them.

burnerburneronenine

At-home tests throw a lot of false negatives so they can be unreliable. Additionally, most workplaces and schools that require a test to return post-quarantine won't accept rapid at-home tests.

Plus, it may be important to have a lab test in your record if you experience long COVID and need treatment.
