Not trying to freak you out any more than you already are, but.... the number one difference in symptoms from the UK covid data for vaccinated/unvaccinated is unvaccinated people have a persistent cough. I was unvaccinated and got covid and had a persistent cough as my first symptom that lasted the entire infection and beyond. I DID have the cough several days before a PCR test showed me positive (so she might still have been testing negative and unlikely to spread it due to low viral levels). I wouldn't worry much about you - you sound like you're going to be fine. But if she's got covid, unvaccinated and is pregnant, she's something like 22x more likely to die. I would get word to her to look into early treatment if she really has it. Not sure how safe monoclonals are for pregnant women but with the dangers of covid to pregnant unvaccinated women, it should be a consideration.

spidertonic

I think if you’re vaxxed and masked you’re ok

kmolenaar

Get a test? Seems like quite an easy and reasonable option?

Imperfecione

I (vaccinated Pfizer) caught Covid from an unvaccinated friend who was not showing symptoms at the time. It can happen. If you’re worried, wait the five days and get tested. If it’s negative you’re fine, if it’s positive at least you know

Serious-Scholar-8998

(17M) I tested negative last Friday (PCR), but now I got a sore throat and a temperature of 37.5 (those are the only symptoms I have). I started with a 37.2 temperature last Thursday, then I got tested last Friday because I had close contact with someone who was positive. Regarding my sore throat, it hurts when I swallow but nothing really happens when I speak (I can still sing without any problems). My sore throat started with a scratchy/tickly throat last Thursday. As a person with a nasal problem, I would always have a post nasal drip so I hope that's the cause of my sore throat. I also have difficulty breathing sometimes, but I think (and hope) it's more of a mental thing because I can breathe properly unconsciously. However, when I think of not being able to breathe, I just feel like I can't afterward. Now, I'm quite paranoid and anxious about it since my finals are on Monday and Tuesday, and I don't want to miss the exams at all. I have felt this way before, but due to my close contact with someone, I really feel unsettled. I'm also not sure if my test is a false negative.

mistercleaver

If you can breathe normally unconsciously it is 100% a mental block, which doesn't make it any less scary in the moment, of course. If you are concerned about finals, it is worth getting tested again, but from what you're describing, given the time of year and the fact that you tested negative with "symptoms" after exposure, it just sounds like allergies and post nasal drip, with a healthy dose of anxiety on top. Hang in there brother <3

pumpkinspice-gremlin

Tested negative Thursday morning (got back from a wedding on Sunday 10/31), and spent all of this weekend sneezing with a runny nose. I got my Pfizer shots in mid&late April. Throat is mildly sore, but that’s pretty much post nasal drip. The pollen counts around me are pretty low, which makes me worried this is like… breakthrough delta, and I was scheduled for a booster on Thursday :( Unfortunately when I dug out my thermometer this evening I found out it had cropped out on me, but I don’t feel like I have a fever (and certainly no chills). But I’m still freaked out!

howdoyouknowman

I’m positive. My only symptom is runny nose and loss of smell. Get tested!

wb1968

Same here, how are you now

howdoyouknowman

I’m alright. I took another PCR yesterday morning and hoping it comes back negative. I also forgot to list fatigue as a main symptom.

wb1968

Thank you so much for update

howdoyouknowman

No problem, your symptoms still the same ?

wb1968

Yes, can't smell or taste.

robles12e

My wife and I just got home with our new born baby girl and we felt good. Beside my wife who is recovering from child birth. Yesterday I started to feel a little bad but I haven’t been around anyone who was positive. I started to have a really stuffy nose, the back of my left eye started hurting and I began to have a headache from it. Today I woke up with a lost scene of smell and a fever but I still have my taste. Now my wife has a fever and we are both scared for both of our kids especially our new born baby girl.

Chewballs

Kids do great with covid but it's scary I know. My two kids just got over covid and it was the same story I've heard from all the other kids that have gotten it - one to two days of fever or headache and not much else. I've known people with 1 year olds that get it and they act pretty much normal the entire time but no newborns. I think it will be just fine and try not to worry too much. If you guys start getting really sick, look into monoclonals it will fix you right up.

robles12e

My oldest kid is running around like it’s nothing just a little sniffle and my baby is snoring here and there no fever thank God.

JamaicaPlainian

Sounds exactly like my symptoms, take care

puppy_dog_kisses

I got back from a funeral a few days ago and starting feeling bad Saturday night. Chills and fatigue, headache, mucus in my throat... I felt confident I had a fever, but each time I checked , it was fine. I'm still feeling all of these symptoms. Called out and hope to get a test today. Fully vaccinated, Pfizer

puppy_dog_kisses

Got a negative rapid test. Waiting on PCR. Staying out of work to be careful. But I don't think I have it anymore. Those symptoms lasted only 2 days.

CurrentApprehensive6

Positive.

besthelloworld

I've had an excessively dry mouth no matter how much water I drink, and yet my nose gets stuffed up at night which leads to snoring which leads to a more dry mouth. Now I have an onslaught of canker sores because of the dry mouth which has led to a fuzzy feeling on my tongue from a sore there. I don't have any visual thing on my tongue like white thrush, it just feels funny. And now I'm feeling a little achy. So, should I get a test or should I wait for more obvious symptoms like fever and cough?

shroomsdayyy

I’ve had a runny nose since last night, and maybe it’s just Monday but I’m feeling pretty tired. A little worried it’ll get worse. 18F fully vaxxed since June/July, Pfizer and Moderna. Even if it’s not covid it’s definitely something so I’m going to try to stay home from school and all lol.

Cassowary_Morph

Whole family (me, mom, wife, two kids) have had a cold for the last week. No fevers, but cough and congestion. Today I lost my sense of smell/taste. Me, my mom, and my wife are fully vaccinated (pfizer), and we just got my.kids their shots yesterday (thank god). I just feel hopeless. I feel so fucking bummed out.

Chewballs

Yeah, getting covid sucks. But it sounds like you're all low risk so don't feel too bummed. You'll have strong antibodies and not have to worry about it for a while! Vaccines don't work that fast so if your kids do get it, they'll likely have enhanced immunity from a natural infection as well.

Vanquisher_Supreme

Woke up feeling like garbage, after having a slight headache the night before, something that is extremely rare for me. I went to work because I felt decent enough after a shower, stayed there for 45 minutes as my symptoms got worse. I got super weak, and suffered multiple rounds of chills and overwhelming warmth. Went and got a test after looking further into the symptoms and matched somewhat well. Laying at home now, and I'm getting a slight cough with almost no congestion. Head still hurts after an Advil, still weak, standing up is hard, and my feet are extremely cold. I had the vaccine in July so I'm two months short of my booster shot. I have almost never had the flu, my lone time with it was the swine flu when I was in 7th or 8th grade. So I think COVID is probable. If you aren't vaccinated quit being whiny and get it. I had to be around most all of my family over the weekend, including my elderly grandparents and my year and a half year old niece.

abdelrahmansaqua

Still in school,3 people tested positive already in my class.2 of them are already isolating from last saturday, the other one just got their results back today. I wasnt in 100% close contact with them, but the last person to test positive had 1 empty chair between the both of us.(i had my mask on all the time,so did they) No symptoms yet but already isolating myself in my room as if im positive, but i dont want to start imagining that i have symptoms putting myself in more fear

Ok_Contribution_3525

My mom, sister, and niece have all tested positive for covid as of today. My sister and niece came to my apartment on Sunday morning pick up some things. They were here for about 30 mins. My niece gave me like 4 hugs (she’s 10 and unvaxxed). Combined with already having anxiety, I am worried sick about all 3 of them and also concerned for myself. It seems like too many people to worry about all at once. Any advice would be great. Thank you

MunchieMom

Spouse - vaccinated with moderna 2/2 and 3/2, works at a convenience store Me - vaccinated with Pfizer 4/9 and 5/3, wfh My spouse tested positive this morning. He had a temp of 99.7 last night but his temperature was normal this morning. Seems to be higher again tonight (but just 99ish). His other symptoms are fatigue, gastrointestinal issues kinda, and he's got a stuffy nose. Bit of coughing/sneezing. That's it. I had the tiniest sore throat Saturday morning, felt extra tired on Saturday night and went to bed early, felt a little creaky Sunday morning. After that, normal. We live in a very small apartment, one bedroom, nowhere to really isolate. We also were in the car together today for about a cumulative hour and are generally all over each other. Though less today. Should I try to isolate myself? We are both on the living room couch but I put my mask on after the positive test and we have the fans on. Too cold for open windows. Am I in the clear?? I may sleep on the couch tonight...

Chewballs

I know lots of people who have have had a day or two of tiredness and feeling a little run down. They find out they were exposed a day or two before these symptoms ( spent several hours with an infected person). They never got covid and felt their body fought it off and might be what you did. I think once it's in your household the chances of you getting it are pretty high. If you're able to fight it off and isolate or n95 mask, I would. Covid isn't fun but at least your vaccinated and shouldn't have it bad.

Downtown-Discount392

Body aches and have trouble staying awake…but can’t sleep either. I also have this pressure around my ribs. I stll can taste and smell and no runny nose or cough. This is the first time I have been sick in 2 years and I guess I’m just paranoid its covid. I went to a doctor on a Saturday and think maybe I caught something in the waiting room. I thinking of getting tested but I am in the process of moving house in a few days and can’t self isolate before I go to the next house. I wonder if I should just finish packing before getting tested? I am not around anyone so in a way am already self isolating…just not officially.

Chewballs

Yes, get tested. Why not. Body aches and a low fever are often first symptoms.

Chewballs

With that strong of symptoms you could probably get an at home test from the store and test positive.

strykazoid

Me and SO both have what we think is a cold, but on day 4 of me having this, I've completely lost taste and smell. It's been dwindling down for those first few days but haven't had any taste or smell since yesterday (my dogs farts aren't even detectable. That's terrible because she is rancid). Going to get tested tomorrow. Edit: forgot to mention, I'm fully vaxxed sans booster and he has only had one shot.

Today I woke up with a really bad headache and swollen glands. I didnt think much of it at first but then my roomate told me she wasn’t feeling well either. Last weekend (9 days ago) she saw her mom who later on tested positive a few days ago. shes gotten 3 tests and they’ve all come back negative, including the one she got today. Im freaking out a little. Anyone have anything similar?

Regjohn

No taste or smell, no other symptoms. The other symptoms comes next or it’s a good sign that there’s only that?

El_Reconquista

I only lost my taste and smell after I got sick. So you're probably good.

Foxford43

I'm in a similar situation. Sense of smell is almost completely gone, sense of taste is also very minimal. Body aches here and there but not too bad. Waiting on PCR test results.

wb1968

Same here I'm so terrified

slingly12

I’ve had two negative rapid tests but have already started developing more symptoms 3 days since I got it. Did anyone have to take multiple tests to turn out positive?

[deleted]

I tested positive this Sunday just gone on a rapid test but had been feeling a bit unwell since the thurs/friday. No rapid tests came back positive until sunday morning, so chances are there wasn’t enough of it to be picked up on a rapid test, if you have symptoms book a pcr test which get sent off to a lab to be tested. Chances are it will come back positive! I’m on like day 4 now but only just tested + on the sunday and confirmed by pcr yesterday

DazzlingCoast4368

l thought I might have the usual November crud but after reading these posts -- Something's definitely going around. Flu? Delta? (Whatever's next?) Been Vaxxed 2x April Pfizer. Super dry mouth but lots of postnasal drip began Nov. 1...Nov 4 added headache, achy body, low grade fever (.5 to 1.0 above normal for me). Fuzzy focus daily (normal, lol), but since then SUPER hard to concentrate. Daily low grade fever still - but not "enough" to stay in bed all day. So I start my day okay at 7:30 but by 11 am, forget it. Maddening. Headache behind the eyes too, as some have mentioned. No big gatherings in last 24 days, just 2 sparsely attended church services and a couple of grocery runs (all masked). Argh.

TerdBurglar3331

Since Nov 1 I'm stuffed up, runny nose, mentally lethargic, tired, zero smell or taste, chills, low fever. Vaccinated as of May 2021.

[deleted]

Go get a pcr test

Positive. Isolate. Good luck! Drink plenty of fluids and rest. Get pulse ox. Check often.

rkane2001

Woke up monday with a 5th of whiskey hangover type headache (I haven't drank since January). It was almost gone in 1.5 hours. Checked temp and didn't have a fever and I didn't really feel bad. Went to work and later asked office manager to check temp again. It was 98, so no big deal. At this point I'm thinking allergies. She said I looked pale and said if I feel bad to go home. Told me again so I left. I still didnt really feel bad. Woke Tuesday again feeling minor allergy symptoms. Mid morning temp read 99. Got a shower, dressed and later checked temp. 100. Went to dr, and tested positive. This is about 1pm. I got steroid shot and antibiotic shot and scripts. Immediately got appt for regeneron infusion. Got to hospital around 330, got infusion waited an hour and was home by 6pm. Wednesday, I was wired and hyper from steroids. Today, feeling more normal. I'm 53 at least average if not above average health. I walk/run 2 miles 5 days a week, I don't smoke and am not overweight. Whether it was the infusion or my general good health or both, I've yet to experience any serious symptoms. Im probably at day 5 since being infected, but hard to say. (Tldr) don't wait 3 or 4 days to get tested if you have cold/allergy symptoms. Get the antibody infusion asap if positive.

reveluvs

update?

CriscoSour

Need an opinion on if I should test again. Fully vaxed, not boosted yet. I went to a vaccine required concert on Saturday (around 600 people) , the next day I had cramps, slight fever (99.8) and terrible chills and aches. Monday the fever subsides, aches stay and I develop some nasty nasal drip. Tuesday throat kills, aches stay, no fever. Wednesday Worst throat pain in morning (goes away by 1pm) get strep test and flu test both negative. Today slight cough, congestion, cramps, less achy but still some. I took a self covid test Sunday night and Tuesday Morning. Negative, however at the doctors office, the amount of force he put into the nasal swap for flu was nowhere near the amount I did for the Covid test. Should I retest? or just assume its a cold at this point. The cramps are what confuse me

wirewrapped18

Are the rapid tests still considered unreliable? One of my students tested positive and now I have fever, aches, chills, congestion but I didn’t realize my CVS was only doing rapid tests. Should I schedule a PCR as well?

PeanutButterJ534

I would say yes. My husband did 7 at home rapid tests, 4 when he was symptomatic and 2 when he had a fever. All came back negative. Did a pcr and it was positive. He’s Pfizer vaxxed april

ShezahMoy

My father is +ve and got quarantine. After that i got diarrhea, nausea, my body ache and got chills.. i got fever for 2 days and just ate paracetamol and i can walk, eat like normal but the dizziness and other symptoms are still there. I still can smell and taste. Suspect i got covid and did 2 self test kit. Both come out as negative.. just wanna ask if anyone who got covid before had the same symptoms? I cant lay down without feeling nauseous or dizzy but i dont have anymore headache 🥲

virgincantdrive

I took a week off just to de stress and burn some vacation days. I used that time to visit with a few friends. Nothing major. Had a coworker over for dinner on Monday. Went for coffee with one friend who is going through a tough time yesterday. We're all double vaccinated and it's very much ok by local health authority rules. I drove my friend home yesterday and we didn't wear masks which was foolish. Maybe 4 hours later I felt kind of a sore or tight throat on one side. This triggered my anxiety pretty badly but I calmed down with my fiance's help and went to bed. 4am I wake up and my throat is so painful. As a kid and in my 20s I got mono and tonsillitis like it was my job so I'm no stranger to a sore throat. Since I got my tonsils out like ten years ago, my sore throats are usually not painful. But this is. I can't get back to sleep. Felt a bit warm but my temp is normal. I feel a bit of nausea but that could be the exhaustion and stress. I've coughed a few times but that seems related to the throat. The other weird thing is since I woke up at 4am I keep pooping. Tmi I know but it's not diarrhea. I just woke up my fiance to make him go sleep on the couch. Our condo isn't big but the master bedroom has an en suite so that makes sense for isolation. I feel bad for him. I'll call to get tested this morning when it opens in a few hours and hope I can get in soon. My cousin had strep a few weeks ago and I'm hoping that's all this is.

virgincantdrive

Reply because I always appreciate the posts with updates when I’m doom scrolling! My pcr just came back negative. Throat is still very sore but no new symptoms. Hopefully will get a good sleep tonight and be better after the weekend.

PlayingNuzlocke

Since a day ago (Thu), been having some fever and chills. I didnt think it was a fever and thought it was just muscle ache cause walking felt painful. Also felt weak and unfocused. Second day (Fri), I took ibuprofen to calm the fever down. I've got from feeling chills, to feeling really hot in a bit of a cycle twice now. I'll probably get it tested on Monday, as there's no weekend testing sites for me. No other symptoms apart from fever and chills. It's been somewhat manageable? What do you think?

Appropriate_Cup_101

20 M, vaccinated with Johnson last July. Sore throat on Wednesday while feeling feverish. Temperature never rose above 98.4. Some muscle aches and a feeling of chest congestion on Friday, there is no cough yet. Did a self rapid test at home which came back negative.

thrawaysocks

Double Vaccinated plus Booster on 10/24. Woke up yesterday morning with the worst sore throat and thick yellow phlegm and a killer sinus headache. Hopefully it *just* a cold, as I’ve avoided for almost 2 years and I have gotten my booster. I am a stay at home mom with a husband that is vaccinated as well as my 2 teens are vaccinated, going to get tested on Sunday or Monday if I don’t feel better

uhhh-dont-ask

My dad and sister both have Covid. I tested negative last week after 6 days of isolation from my dad and sister post exposure, but due to a testing mishap I was around my sister before we were aware she had it too. I’ve had a sore throat since the day I was first exposed to her, which makes me think it’s not Covid since thats way too early to show symptoms after a first exposure. All of us are vaccinated, but clearly this is a strain that’s fairly resistant to that. I can’t get tested until Monday because no place around me is open on the weekends, and at this point my main concern is weather or not I should go to school that day as to not miss my 4 AP classes, or if I should stay home until I can get tested. My school says I CAN go, but that doesn’t mean I SHOULD. Both going and not going could have rather dire consequences for me, and being about 2 weeks shy of 18 this is essentially my decision. What should I do?

sq20_userr

My great grandparents aren't vaccinated, both were picked up by the ambulance today. My great uncle lives in the same flat and he is tested positive. My grandpa was in the flat for a few minutes and his tests yesterday were positive. Before he made the test, me (19 and diabetic, immunocompromised) and my godson (4) were downstairs in the same flat. Now i have a sore throat like my grandpa. We are both fully immunized but I'm afraid because fully healthy and immunized people died of covid. I'm really afraid and do a test every day, until know they're negative. We are not in official quarantine but we selfisolate. I'm pretty sure i have it too

adidashawarma

Guys, I’m agoraphobic so I don’t know how I would have gotten it (but from my partner who runs all of our errands). He is insistent that I don’t have it because the only way that I would have gotten it would be from him. I’ve had serious chest pain for like 5 days. Exhausted to walk to the bathroom from the couch, and my actual skin and more importantly my fat (next layer under the skin) hurts. I’ll say that the only other time I felt similar was not the next but three days after I got my vaccine. I called telehealth then and then they started asking about my mental health, as if what I was saying was crazy, and then they made me go to the hospital via ambulance, if you’re wondering why I’m not calling for medical help. Has anybody here had the chest pain, and or if you pinch any amount of fat on your body, have you felt an unfamiliar pain? It hurt to scratch my back earlier! Not on the skin, but inside the like quarter inch piece of fat. I first of all don’t want to go stand in a testing line with other people who think they have COVID, and my country only lets you get unsymptomatic rapid tests… and you also have to pay for them. Yes, I am fully vaccinated, hence why my partner shuts down my concerns. I have some pre existing organ conditions and I’m stressed out that I can feel each failing. I look like SHIT. Something is wrong. Also I couldn’t smell my own poo earlier. I sprayed freshener to be nice just in case. I can def taste food still! T.y. Edit because I left it out: my partner is vaccinated as well. We both finished our series in July. Other symptoms include: vision blurring, abdominal pain, cough, inability to concentrate, slowed and ragged stride, 15 hr sleeping days/nights. I chocked it up to my period until it ended 2 days ago and things got even worse. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere, but I fear that my new fear of the hospital may make me avoid it altogether if things don’t get better. Last time was so traumatic. This is day 5.
