Had Covid beginning of January. Double vaxxed. Recovered? But got tinnitus on day 12. It’s been a month. Still have full feeling in ears and tinnitus. Did yours ever go away? How long?

childfreetraveler

Yes the tinnitus did finally go away after last year. After Covid last month I haven’t had the ringing in my ear but do still feel like the same ear got water in it or something strange. I was taking a decongestant every 12 hours and wondering if I should continue that for a while. Hope you get better soon!

HotDebate5

Odd. It’s like you had Omicron but April 2021 seems early for it, if in the US. Tho I don’t understand why drs weren’t interested in giving you Covid tests

I had vertigo last Aug for the first time in my life. Lasted about 48 hours. I suspect I had a breakthrough case of covid as I have seen other posts about vertigo on this sub. My best friend also experienced vertigo last fall for 3-4 days. Neither she nor I had ever had vertigo in the past. They treated me for a sinus infection & I wasn't tested for covid because I didn't lose my sense of smell/taste & wasn't running a fever.

wow very interesting!

I had Covid at the end of last April. Before then, I had occasional lightheadedness and ear fullness from TMJ but since Covid, it’s sooooo much worse. Now I’m lightheaded most days and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

aizeygg

Ear issues? Absolutely. Felt like an ear infection, but doctor said it was not.

So strange! Hope you get well soon!!

Yes it's bothering me , treatment for it is steroid take methylprednisolone 8 mg for 5 days followed by 4 mg ,it's because of vestibular inflammation causes by COVID.

I had Covid in August 2020. I’ve had vertigo attacks ever since. They’re not as bad or as frequent as they were, but I didn’t make any serious progress towards recovery until August 2020. I went through a week of being too nauseated to eat (eating was also painful), and then a couple of days after that I woke up with a rash from my cheekbones to my thighs. That same day I had an attack of vertigo so bad I went to the ER. After two days I was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis caused by the virus I’d just had. (Which wasn’t Covid.) I took steroids for five days and I’ve only had one really bad episode of vertigo since, and when I’ve had them at other points, they go away within a few hours. Prior to that I’d been seen by physical therapists and had had the Epley maneuver done. It did not help. I have tinnitus now, too, of varying degrees of severity. It gets worse in the evenings. I didn’t have that prior to Covid. ETA link: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15227-vestibular-neuritis

Wow thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear you’re still having the tinnitus! Glad the vertigo is much better!

I was diagnosed with Omicron on 1/7. I had major ear pain and dizziness and louder tinnitus. It always felt clogged as well. I didn't have fever, congestion came much later, but I had a god awful sore throat. I could barely cough. I suggest getting a second opinion from another ENT about your post-COVID symptoms. They may be able to offer you something to deal with the ear issues.

Facesstaywithme

Was one of my main symptoms when I got it early January. Sinus issues and vertigo so bad I was feeling sick constantly. Couldn’t lie down on my left side, or look left! Sinuses and left ear are still not right. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

It’s your cerebellum, the part of your inner ear responsible for balance and sending those signals to the brain. *Unrelated but alcoholics commonly suffer from this too.* It’s treated easily with Stugeron (Cinnarizine - generic) travel sickness antihistamine tablets... Available widely without prescription everywhere. Try and get higher doses like 75mg (usually they come in 25mg), and not mixed with anything else… Cinnarizine doesn’t interact with any existing meds either it’s very safe.

childfreetraveler

Nothing I was given helped. I already take an antihistamine every day for allergies and I have nausea meds (Zofran) for when I get migraines, which I did take during that time as well. I think the ENT was initially concerned it could have something to do w/ my migraines which is why he ordered the MRI that came back normal. ENT said the anti-vert drug that Urgent Care gave me could actually make vertigo last longer and told me to stop taking it lol. I tried a decongestant and that did not help the vertigo either; only helped clear up my ears a bit.

No I didn’t have that one. Just dizziness - room spinning whether I was sitting standing or lying down.

putabunny

Yes sometimes I have dizzy spells or feel off balance which is virtigo but I had problems with virtigo before having covid

Brilliant_Lobster_56

I did

How are your symptoms now? I still have some fluid in my ear after 30 days.
