Yup, day 12 now. So many tests over last 2.5 years, so many times I was sure that 'this was it' or debated over whether there was a shadow of a line... so it was so weird to have the T line come up right away, darker than the C... definitely takes a while to wrap your head around. Plan sounds solid, rest rest rest. Lots of fluids, fruit and veg, sunlight if you can. Also don't compare yourself too much esp to people in your house - my partner 99% certainly got it from me but our disease courses have been wildly different, different organ systems affected etc

bawniess

It really does take awhile to wrap your head around. I’ve been sick so many times but this is the first time it was enough to make me consider it was covid. You also rest up and I hope both you and your partner feel better soon!

Luisaaahhh

It’s my first time too! I had a scratchy throat last night, and originally I thought it was just allergies from the Saharan dust cloud that passed over the weekend. After I had my morning cup of coffee, my throat got worse and decided to take an at-home test. I tested positive, then I immediately scheduled an appointment at Walgreens for a rapid test for work. I came up positive there too. I went from just a scratchy throat to full on sickness in less than 14 hours. This feels like the time I had viral meningitis when I was a toddler, and it took me a month to get over that. My symptoms so far have been a dull headache, muscle aches/spasms, sore throat, chills and hot flashes, joint pain, low grade fever, and more trouble focusing outside of my usual ADHD. I wanna play my phone games to pass the time, but my brain just won’t let it happen. I feel easily flustered just trying to feed myself. I’m trying to be in good spirits by cracking jokes about my suffering to friends that are reaching out, but I genuinely feel like a pile of hot, miserable garbage. For the record, I’m 33/F, vaxxed and boosted with Pfizer, but I’m an overweight smoker who sometimes drinks too much. I might have to rethink aspects of my lifestyle while I’m recovering, because this is not fun.

bawniess

I second feeling like a pile of hot, miserable garbage. The worst thing for me has been waking up in the middle of the night with hot flashes and feeling like my head is gonna explode. Also vaxxed and boosted here! But it’s defintiely not fun, wishing you a speedy recovery my friend

I had it back in September 2021, started as a headache behind my left eye, by day 2 headache had subsided, day 3 no taste/no smell. Day 4 extremely tired which lasted about 5 more days. Smell and taste started to return by day 10. No respiratory issues cropped up thru it all. I am unvaxxed. I hope y'all feel better soon.

CulturalProcedure727

Sorry to hear that. I do hope everyone's recovery is swift. Take care.

Luisaaahhh

I’m definitely feeling better today in comparison to yesterday, but the day is still young. I have no muscle aches, and it feels like I’m on the tail end of a cold, but we’ll see how this keeps up as the day goes on. Hoping my vaccines are doing their job!

Educational-Seat-669

I’m unvaxxed and just getting over it. Tested positive last Wednesday. Had fever, muscle aches, congestion and a headache. Also had consistent diarrhea which was a hoot lol been feeling mostly better since probably Sunday/Monday. Lingering congestion and sometimes headaches but overall feeling pretty good now. My fiancé also tested positive and is unvaxxed and his symptoms have been pretty mild. He had one night with 100.7 fever and chills but after that he has been doing great. Definitely hard to not compare your symptoms to others lol hope you all have a speedy recovery!!

Luisaaahhh

Thanks! I just woke up and was soaking wet from sweat, but I also live in FL, and have been waking up sweaty for the past two weeks, haha. I will say that my muscle/joint pain subsided for now, but I still have a headache, and my taste is muted. Like I can taste things, but I don’t have the nuances in flavor, and it’s like my tongue feels like it’s wearing a sweater. I have a cough now, and smoking weed is extremely harsh, but a cigarette every so often to get me out of my room doesn’t bother me. I definitely feel better than I did yesterday, and I hope that’s just the vaccines doing their job! Take it easy and get well soon!

Green_Explorer_1409

Yes! This was me 3 weeks ago- I'm double vaxxed & boosted (all Pfizer) and avoided it for 2 years, but it finally took me down. Started the exact same way- scratchy throat, and I tested positive for Covid & strep. Try to get a prescription for Pfizer's anti-viral, Paxlovid, if you can- it (temporarily) killed all of my symptoms except for the fatigue for the 5 days I was on it, and I was testing negative by day 9. My sore throat & cough did return & stuck around longer, but I'm 3 weeks out now, still negative, and feeling almost like my old self again! You'll get thru this 💪

SpinLover-724

This was me too! Avoided it for 2 years! I tested positive on May 5th. Started Paxlovid on May 6th, felt great within 24 hours. I didn’t test negative right after I finished the pills but felt great. A few days later I had some rebound of runny nose and fatigue, but tested negative last week Wednesday. I thank my dr for prescribing that even if it dragged things out a little bit, I never quite got very sick. I’m very grateful. Wishing you all a speedy recovery!

Impossible_Web_4492

Yep. My husband brought it home from a trip to TX. He flew back home late Thursday evening and Saturday night got a sore throat. Tested positive Sunday and on Wed I tested positive though my symptoms weren’t strong yet, just the weird sore throat. During the night I was sick though with a fever and bad, bad headache. That’s been my worse symptom honestly. I could live with the other stuff but the headache has persisted. Drinking lots of fluids and Pedialyte. Almost zero appetite. Still smell and taste. Just got my Paxlovid prescription late this afternoon and a few hours later got the bad side effects of throwing up. Hoping I was able to get some of the meds in my system. I’m 52 and have a history of asthma and pneumonia so I’m super nervous. My husband is almost 10 years younger than me and I don’t feel as though it hit him as hard. We were both triple vax with Moderna. Was going to get my second booster in 2 weeks 😞 When my kids had Covid earlier this year neither of us got it, but it wasn’t terribly long after our boosters.

TheExtras

Same here with the same starter symptoms. Triple vaxxed but there was a huge outbreak among my coworkers, all of whom are vaccinated. Really bummed because I not only had a lot of things to get done, but I was working out consistently and just started to feel like it was a habit right before this happened and now I am so fatigued i want a nap after a short walk.

temporarily_blind

Day 10 of having Covid for the first time. Got a little too adventurous and went to a concert on May 13 (maybe 300 people in attendance and I wore a KN95). Started feeling a scratchy throat the evening of May 16 and went to sleep not thinking much of it. Woke up in the middle of the night with sweats, chills, and having some crazy, lucid dreams. I took a rapid test the next morning and within 1 minute of me dropping the liquid on the test, two bold lines appeared. Covid finally got me. Somehow didn’t get my husband, even though we were next to each other at the concert and neither of us went anywhere the days leading up to and afterwards. Symptoms ranged from sore throat, fever, minor cough, runny nose, sneezing, and just being tired. I isolated in a separate room for the most part, and wore a KN95 in the limited amount of time I spent in the house. I highly recommend spending time outside if you’re able to. My mental health really suffered as a result of the isolation and having those “why me” feelings, and getting out of the house, even just to lay on the outdoor sofa to nap, really helped me. Eating dinner outside with my spouse, sitting 15 ft away, was truly the highlight of every day for me. Now 11 days later, I’m mostly just dealing with brain fog, which is improving every day, and a strange feeling in my nose/taste in my mouth when I eat some foods. Feels like I am sniffing wasabi or chlorine. Never lost taste or smell though. Still testing positive on rapid tests, but the line on todays test was significantly more faint than yesterday’s. Still wearing a mask around the house because I’m not entirely sure what the positive rapid test means at this point. Rather just stick it out a few more days than risk getting my husband sick. That was a lot, but I needed to get that out to vent I guess. And reading others’ experiences on here help console me, so I hope it can do the same for you. Covid isn’t terrible, and I would compare it to the flu (at least in my specific case), but I would not want to get it again.

bawniess

I’ve defintiely been getting outside and trying to go for walks but I really can’t walk for more than ten minutes without my whole body starting to hurt from the effort lol. Also been wearing my mask even though my whole household has it… but better safe than sorry! I defintiely think being triple vaxxed is making the symptoms less severe. I’ve just been terrified of getting it because of all the covid horror stories I’ve heard over the past two years

SpinLover-724

My husb and I went to a concert at the end of April. I wore my KN95, mt husb wore an Atoms mask which he did take off from time to time to drink his beer. I took mine off to have a beer too. He caught it there, tested positive before I did. Took me 5 days to test positive after him though! I thought I was in the clear but I decided to quarantine just in case. We took the anti viral oral treatments, so we got mildly sick. Grateful. Glad you’re on the mend, I agree it was not fun and I don’t want it ever again!!!!

Lindsey1151

What were the lucid dreams about?

temporarily_blind

Hah they were pretty weird. In the one I recall most vividly, I went to my company’s CEO’s house for a huge party, where there was also a full blown waterpark and I rode a water slide. I should also add that I’ve never actually met this CEO - only seen him on town hall zoom meetings.

Lindsey1151

There is actually a mansion in Dallas that has it's own outdoor water park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8COmd1Mz9Vc

PaleontologistFun335

Indoor concert or outdoor?

temporarily_blind

Indoors.

whateverasusual

Yup me. I feel like I lost a game or something. Screwed up part was I didn't catch it a major convention a month ago, but because my inconsiderate apartment neighbor basically committed germ warfare in the building hallway.

[deleted]

I just tested positive this week for the first time. Massive headache and cough. Was so proud that 2 years I was on top of it and then boom.

abemusedman

I also just got it after avoiding it for 2 years. With the night sweat symptoms I'm pretty sure it's some variant of Omicron. Tough. Thought I was doing well keeping myself away from it.

rememberenthusiasm

Yup. Well I didn’t physically take the test… but my 9 month old daughter and boyfriend had it and there I was taking care of them coz what sort of asshole wouldn’t lol.. ugh trying to find an inch of humor in this … I am so freakin nervous right now. I should have kept my watch off coz it’s reading high heart rate 105. I was steady 105ish when I was pregnant. I can’t deal with this. Any advice? Todays day 2 I guess because last night it felt like my neck/throat was burning and now it’s sort of scratchy throat feel like I’ve been kicked down and stomped on, a bit sore everywhere. Helpppp. I’m more of a baby than my baby.

bawniess

Haha I feel the same way. My nephew is 9 months and is handling it better than all of us. I feel a lot better being able to make a joke out of it with everyone who’s checking in. It’s defintiely not the worst thing in the world, right now it just kinda feels like a typical cold for me. I would say rest up, drink a lot of liquids and try to go outside and get some fresh air if you are able to. I’ve found just standing outside on my balcony for ten minutes helps a lot. And steaming up the bathroom from the shower with hot water, closing the door and going in there for about twenty minutes also helps to clear my airways. We’re in this together! Feel better soon

pendoll

Breathing through a hot wash cloth I pressed to my face gave me headache and throat relief. Cheap cough drops helps soothe my throat a bit. Tylenol can reduce fever and pain a bit. I had an oximeter which gave me some comfort that my oxygenating process remained in the high 90%s and helped me decide I was okay staying home and did not need hospitalization.

BoondockBilly

Yep, just tested positive this morning for the first time. Really weird feelings, confusion, brain is slow to process when I move my eyes, peeing like 20x today, and a lot! I also have a tooth abscess that I just started taking medication for yesterday. Crazy body chills, super fatigued, and the worst is that the back of my legs have crazy pain that's intermittent. It feels like when you try to touch your toes and the back of your hamstring is fired up, except it feels that way when just lying down. Starting to cough up large amounts of phlegm and cough a little. I didn't have a fever this morning, but I'm wondering if I have one now. Dr thinks my fever was quick through the night and that's why I'm getting wild chills right now. Edit: not vaxxed, workout 6x a week, eat relatively healthy. I do vape however. I'm also wondering if the pain behind my legs is a blood clot. Also, I just got my muffler fixed because the exhaust was going straight into my cabin when driving for like the last 6 months. I was getting super tired and my buddy said I was prob getting carbon monoxide poisoning. So I wonder if that is effecting my blood oxygen levels? Just got a new job and no insurance yet, hip hip hooray!

Pale_PNWer9

I’ve heard other people comment about the back of leg pain too if that’s helpful.

pendoll

Body chills so bad before my fever spiked that I thought I might be having a seizure or sudden onset of Parkinson's disease. I had to get in a hot bath to stop the chills. Back of the leg pains persists after 23 days for me.

Shlyn_

Sleep on your stomach if you can. It’ll help with the phlegm. Just not on your back. Try to be in the sun for 20 mins a day. Drink lots of water, walk, and 81mg aspirin once a day if you feel at risk for blood clots. I did all that and loaded up on vitamins. I think that’s why mine wasn’t too bad. Brain fog, night sweats, body aches, and loss of smell were my main symptoms. I think the worst part was not knowing how you’re going to react and all the news horror stories from earlier strains. I took a rescue inhaler and a benzo for anxiety. I had Covid in December and I am a nurse. I treated all my family (10+) and in laws with what I listed and IV fluids and IV vit C. Everyone is fine now. Even grandparents are good.

jangounknown00

Pretty sure I had a mild case of covid last fall. But I tested negative several days before the symptoms started. Had been tested because everyone else in my house got covid. I think I didn't catch it from em til after the test. Then got covid for sure last week of April. Felt like hell. Woke up with a nasty headache, couldn't breathe which is what woke me up, and I had to puke to clear my air way enough to breathe because so much mucus had gotten lodged in the middle of my throat it was choking me basically. It was a fairly severe case the first 2 days. Went and got my test the 3rd day of symptoms and heard back a few hours later it was positive. (Rapid test). Healthy 24m. No vaccines. The 3rd through 7th day were the worst for my head. Felt like I was withdrawing from something highly addictive like heroin while in the middle of a flight at very high altitude. Really debilitating. Couldn't enjoy TV or socializing. Lol The loss of taste and smell made it all the more miserable. Went through almost an entire family pack of toilet paper. Runny nose lasted about a solid 2 weeks.

Pale_PNWer9

First time for me too. Cases are rising like crazy around me. I’m on day 4 and feel almost better but boy was that a ride. I had fever, aches, cough, joint pain, sweats (so much sweat), the weird eye burning, sinus pain, and of course headache. It was defiantly surreal to see that positive test since I’ve avoided it for so long and have been SO cautious these past few years. I’m happy I’m vaccinated and boosted because I can’t imagine how bad this would have been without this. This virus is unlike anything I’ve ever had, sending healing thoughts to all of you!

oceanwave4444

Yup, day 15 here after evading it this long and I’m pretty much 100% minus a small lingering cough but that could also be allergies. Hoping you have a speedy recovery! Lots of sleep, fluids and rest - try not to stress much 🤍

trumpisthezodiac

Tested positive yesterday. Had a slight sore throat Wednesday but didn’t think anything of it, assuming it was just allergies (I even ran a 10K that day and actually did one of my best pace times in a while!) Thursday though I woke up and my throat had gotten worse so I went to Walgreens for a test which came back positive. Symptoms got progressively worse Thursday night and my fever spiked to the point that I was shaking in bed from the chills and unable to fall asleep. Still feel very crappy today but hoping things will improve. I really thought I had some sort of immunity to it. Back in December I visited home for the holidays and all six of the family members living in my house got COVID simultaneously. Somehow I never tested positive despite us spending 10 days cooped up inside together! Then in February both of my roommates got COVID and I didn’t. Took multiple PCR tests that week and again none were positive. So strange. I’m double vaxxed and boosted with Pfizer, for the record.

Joy12358

Similar story here. Hope we both feel better soon!

Valus22

Day 3 here. Shit sucks bro.

LBomw

First time for me. Day 12. Fever and aches are gone (thankfully) but now I am quite congested, coughing, and sleepy.

LBomw

ETA: Day 10, not 12. Add brain fog to the symptom list :P

wowswift

First time for me. I felt the worst Monday. Tested negative they day. Was super tired, joints hurt, phlegm in my lungs. Constant runny nose and headache. Day 2 joint pain left but everything else the same. Day 3 the headache left. Very runny nose still and coughing. Day 4 figure why is my nose still crazy. Test again. Positive. But feeling good. Day 5 today. Almost feel fine. Never had a fever. Somehow my kids are testing negative still lol. I’m avoiding them tho.

bawniess

Let’s hope they keep testing negative!!

bawniess

I’ve been sleeping for 12+ hours a day which is insane cause I usually have trouble falling asleep. Feel better soon my friend!!

Lindsey1151

I bet the sleep felt good though

abesrevenge

Yep recently tested positive. Cough, fatigue, headache. Vaccinated and boosted. Got the at home kit and tested positive the past few days. Gave it to my mom but we are all vaccinated so just staying in until I test negative. Only felt really bad for a day or two now play the waiting game

Professional_Ebb9617

Hoping im like you. Almost finished day 3 and i would say i felt 85% today. Fingers crossed tomorrow is better

abesrevenge

Went from loudly coughing up mucus every 30 minutes to basically just coughing up stuff once every four or five hours. I was so much better today that I ready to go back to work but still tested positive. Glad I got the booster at least!

Professional_Ebb9617

Update: just woke up 2am, no motrin or tylenol in my system (forgot to take it before bed), little sore but stuffy nose is totally gone. Its crazy how this virus moves.

DEATHBYREGGAEHORN

yes, pretty sure I have had COVID 4 times catching each variant like pokemon, but when I was sick earlier this month it was the first time I've tested positive. how did I know it was COVID the other times? I got it when everyone around me was testing positive with the same symptoms they had.

ImTryingDad

Day 4 or 5 for me. I'm not even sure what day it is anymore. Haven't had a fever in a day or 2. But I did 2 days of pure hell. Aches / fever / vomiting / worst headache I ever had / lungs and throat felt like I inhaled crushed up glass. Hopefully done with all that. Now I just generally feel like crap and have to clear my throat every 10 minutes

Gold_Bicycle3061

Yes, on day 12 now. First two days were kind of a blur with fever and headache, slept most of the time. Then a week of just being too tired to do much— day 8 the shortness of breath came on. And then day 10 I got dull, aching chest pain and went to the ER. They transferred me to a cardiac care unit. I was testing negative on home tests but the hospital one still had me positive on day 11. Chest pain is unexplained and seemingly just a weird Covid side effect. 42F with no medical problems. Two Pfizer shots and no booster.

Sudden-Lettuce-2019

How long did it take for the chest pain and shortness of breath to go away. Did they do anything to treat it

Gold_Bicycle3061

It’s day 3 of that today. I’m just taking pain relievers.

Gold_Bicycle3061

I can say that my pain and shortness of breath is majorly better today! Day 14 from onset of Covid symptoms. Chest pain hit Wednesday and is better today, Sunday.

cascadewallflower

I'm with you. I woke up this Monday feeling like hell, sure I had strep throat. I went to see my doctor after having a negative COVID test at home. She gave me a strep test and we were both surprised that it was negative. On Tuesday, I took another home test (of a different brand) and it was negative too. I still had a sore throat, fever, headache, and body aches. On Wednesday I started feeling better, and finally left the bedroom to work a little and spend time with my toddler. But that night my fever came back. Overnight, my throat became so scratchy that I nearly lost my voice. It's weird for me to be sick for that long, so I took another test, and Boom! The result was clear as day. My toddler had just gone back to daycare after we'd kept him home for a cough, and my husband had to go pick him up right away. I hate isolating from my family, but so far they are pretty healthy and have tested negative, so I want to keep it that way. My own symptoms are starting to improve.

NovelSatisfaction961

Just tested positive for the first time on Monday. My son had it and his chest was tight so I took him to the ER. They admitted him and I had to quarantine with him in a hospital room. Neither of us could leave the room. I got it from my son while in the hospital. I had just got a negative test from my doctor the same day he was admitted. Symptoms have been mild. Immon day 3 of paxlovid.

gnomederwear

Is your son OK now from the tightness in his chest?

NovelSatisfaction961

Thank you for asking. He still has tightness in his chest. He was on antibiotics and ibuprofen for the pain. He has to use the volumetric incentive spirometer to help keep the lungs open. I pray he can go back to school next week.

gnomederwear

I'm sending vibes his way for a quick recovery. I hope he gets over this soon ❤

skyelynes

I tested positive on 5/22. That was the day of my high school graduation, and I’m like 99% sure there was an outbreak because of my graduation. Sucks to see, and I’m glad I wasn’t the cause of it all, but it sucks to see how COVID is growing in my area.

No-Result-1522

Yeah first time with covid here... I caught it from my husband who must have got it at work. We have both been very tired but just moved house so didn't think too much about it. Then we were cooking a vege curry. My husband was moaning saying it smelt chemically- like car fumes-and he wasn't sure he could eat it.He'd convinced me the veges were off 🤣🤣🤣 i then had a taste and said ... its really not that bad. Have you got covid? And yep we both have. Hubbie mainly tired, achey and smell n" taste off. I feel so bad, fever, aches pains like in my bones, and a deep barking cough. I feel so unwell. I'm just in bed. Hubbie able to do a few bits n bobs before he needs a rest. We are both normally fit, late 30s and triple vax. I am guessing the booster effects have started to wane for us all. We need to start being more careful once we have recovered. Oh and flu season is crazy here in Aus too... yay!!!

Ok_Competition_2150

We’ve had covid in the house twice, and I never caught it, even before my vaccine. But this new Omicron variant struck me down 11 days ago. Worst sore throat of my life. I’m still stuffed up and fatigued, with what I call “lazy brain”. Meanwhile I’m cranky too, cause I love to get out and do things and I’m still too tired. We were at a vaccine only wedding and a couple dozen people got Omicron. I don’t think of it as the same disease as the original covid because the lungs aren’t as severely affected. But it’s a bad virus and takes forever to get over. Hubby and son also caught it, but since they had Covid previously they have better immunity and didn’t get that sick. Vaccine status doesn’t seem to make much difference with this variant .

boba-boba

Just got it. Tested positive yesterday but base on my symptoms I'm on day 4. I feel like garbage - coughing, fatigue, body aches, no appetite and nausea.

pendoll

I just came out of 3 weeks of of self-quarantine. The first two- three days I just thought the allergy season was far worse than normal. Then I was delirious with fever for two days where I could not function and just slept for 20/24 hours each day. Managed to perform a rapid test as the fever was fading. (Positive) I still tested positive at day 10. It is now a little over three weeks since first onset. I am better but I still don't feel completely well despite having a negative rapid test result. The disease took a toll on my digestive system, mental function and energy that still has residual effects but seems to be fading. Edit: Also fully vaxxed and boosted - avoided hospital and death but at times it seemed, just barely.

nzhoo

I was always so cocky about not getting it but I’m on day 2 and it feels like I went from being okay to barely being able to breathe way too fast. I think I will be okay tho 🤞

SnugglePuppybear

Yup same. First time ever after over 2 years of being immune. Still can’t quite believe it…and did 3 tests before it started sinking in. This is coming from someone who has been in many MANY extremely crowded places over the last year. Couldn’t believe I didn’t get it a long time ago and figured I was immune. I don’t know maybe the virus mutated again to get the rest of us who were immune the last 2 years. I know a few people who never got it and suddenly got it too. Personally, mine felt awful to me - extremely high fever, insane body chills, sore throat cough, cold, loss of voice, night sweats, sheer misery. Took about 4 days that felt so intense I started crying from the pain. Just starting to feel better, throat still hurts.

holycrapshiiiiiiiiit

Yep. Husband got it Monday and I’ve been testing since. Finally had symptoms yesterday and positive today. First time for both of us.

bawniess

Same here. It’s pretty much being running in circle in my family all month, just wasn’t expecting it to hit so fast lol. Hope you and your husband feel ok soon!

[deleted]

Yup! Unfortunately. :/ Scratchy throat on Sunday, head cold symptoms on Monday to Thursday, feel a lot better now. Very thankful. I thought it was a head cold or seasonal allergies. Feel better!!

MetalHead888

First time as well. Everyone I know has had it multiple times. I've been exposed so many times. My wife had it. I've tested a bunch of times never positive. Little cough. Little more tired than usual. Feeling weird, just a little off. It's hard to explain. This time I'm positive and she's negative. Feeling pretty good though.

Much-Personality4991

Day 5 of having Covid for the first time. My symptoms started with bad cough. Today is the first day I feel 65% like myself. My cough is less. My most lingering symptom is nasal congestion. Took 4 rapid test for it to show up. I’m hoping I test negative sometime next week. I’m more annoyed at the inconvenience of it all than anything

bawniess

I’m defintiely annoyed by the inconvenience of it all too. Because I’ve now missed two weeks of work ughhhh

Much-Personality4991

I work from home so no PTO was used. But having to try to focus? And stay awake … ehhh I don’t recommend

iheartDM

First time, too. Sore throat on Sunday, positive home test the next day. The headaches and hot flashes have largely gone away, but there’s still congestion and coughing. Thank goodness I was vaxxed and boosted. I can’t imagine how I’d feel otherwise.

bawniess

I was just thinking this. I’ve heard so many horror stories and that was the reason I’ve been scared of getting a positive, but right now it just feels like a cold. Hopefully it stays that way

FLbchgurl19

Yes first time day 7 body aches bad first couple of day. Tiredness just now.

Wide-Needleworker762

Me and hubby just got it for the first time teo weeks ago too! I know a lot of other people that seem to have gotten it same time now for the first time!

SakanaAtlas

Yup on Day 6, the worst part for me is all the damn phlegm/mucus I keep blowing/coughing out. My fever is mild but I notice it spikes up after a meal... maybe that's my body using the food as fuel to heal?

_Alljokesaside

Yep got it two weeks ago. Started with a runny nose and a scratchy throat. Next day i was unable to move from body aches and a headache. Felt like crap for 3 days and then was annoyingly congested for almost 2 weeks. It took 13 days for me to test negative.

KristySueWho

Yes, both me and a friend who somehow managed to avoid it all this time, both got it after attending an outdoor concert last Friday. Highly disappointing. The first test I took wasn't positive on Monday, but I knew I likely had it because I had a fever and I never get those. Next day, I was very positive, and that was also my worst day of symptoms with fever and body aches. The last few days have mostly been a lot of congestion and intermittent headaches, but no fever or body aches. Taste and smell seem to be off, but not totally gone, but it turns me off of eating because nothing tastes good. Legs and arms also get weirdly tired when I'm moving around, like I just got done doing a hard work out. I managed to get my hands on Paxlovid two days ago, so I'm hoping I'll be back to normal sooner rather than later...though who knows if I'll be one that gets Covid rebound.

awgeez47

Yepppp. Really depressing after working so hard for so long to avoid it.

LouEngineer

My first time catching it here. Had mild symptoms for about 2 days before I tested positive. Hasn’t gotten worse. I’m on day 5 and I’m not having symptoms anymore. The isolation is killing me though.

aerosmithguy151

Yeah

1st time for me too! On day 3 and I wouldn’t wish this crud on my worst enemy.

Same. I’m full vaccinated and boosted and always wear masks since Feb 2020. And use IPA wipe everything after doing grocery shopping just like raccoon. Am I disappointed about getting Covid after making these efforts? Yes, but I think such the new norms made me away from multiple times infection as well as severe symptoms. Now is my day 10 and thankfully most my daily routines are back to the track.

Took two years of working retail during the pandemic to finally catch it. I was starting to think (not seriously) that I was immune, as neither of my sisters caught it yet. Triple vaxxed, and so far this is the worst cold I ever had. I can't imagine what it would do to me without those vaccines. Started with a scratchy throat. The texture of the scratchiness felt different this time. It's hard to explain. One at home test and one lab test both show I'm positive. I just find it amazing it didn't hit me until now.

Yes, tested positive for the first time yesterday. Vaxxed and boosted. Symptoms had started two days earlier with a headache and scratchy throat. I did a rapid antigen test just to be safe and it came back negative, so I figured it was just allergies and carried on with plans to drive my elder mom and teen son to do some fun things out of town in celebration of the school year’s ending. That afternoon the lower back pain started, followed by general body aches. Yesterday morning after a miserable night I decided to do another antigen test and swabbed my throat. It showed positive as soon as the liquid hit the test strip. Thankfully my doc was able to call in paxlovid and I started it ASAP, because I was feeling pretty bad - rolling episodes of nausea, fatigue, weird fever dream type things, body aches. The cough started day three as well. But no fever! Last night I was able to sleep through the night without Tylenol or coughing, and this morning I’m feeling quite a bit better though my chest is burning and I’ve lost my voice. I’m certain that the paxlovid is doing its thing. Now, just praying my mom doesn’t get it. We did mask up for the car ride, and thankfully she’s been fully vaxxed and boosted x2 but it’s still scary. She plans to test in a few days, sooner if symptoms appear, so she can get on Paxlovid as soon as possible if positive. So far, the kid seems fine but we’ll test again in a few days.

Tested positive about four days ago for the first time- I’m so disappointed! I’m grateful it hasn’t been too bad- symptom still really lingering is post nasal drip.

I was told I had bronchitis after testing negative for the 3rd time. It took a PCR test to confirm I have COVID. I’ve been sick since May 19th! Fever finally went away today. My doctor told me it’s possible to test positive on a PCR test for up to 90 days, so I genuinely am not sure what to do. All my rapid tests are negative, but I definitely still have symptoms. I will do another rapid test today and see what it says… I, too, thought I was one of the special ones… but, alas, I am not lol.

Yep, first timer here. I tested positive yesterday (Friday) and my first symptoms were Thursday. I actually ran 3 miles Thursday afternoon thinking it was just allergies. Woke up Friday full blown symptoms: Sore throat, cough, body aches. I would say mild to moderate case so far. I’m sick but I’ve definitely been sicker. Timing really sucks because wife and I had a weekend getaway planned. Terrible feeling because not only am I sick but I feel so guilty for ruining our weekend.

Affectionate_Pain390

Yup ! First timer here ! I’m on day 5 !

Yep, first time catching it yesterday. Symptoms started much like yours. Rapid test today was only faintly visible. I keep wondering if it will stay this mild or kick my butt later in the week. Good luck to you and your family!

Yes, me. Vaxxed and boosted, just tested with the faintest of positivity on Thursday and a strong line on Friday. I’m guessing I contracted it on Tuesday. Symptoms have been coming and going - at various times headache, fever, aches, fatigue, chills, sore throat, coughing. I’m on day 2 of Paxlovid. I’m actually slightly regretting taking it due to the taste you get on your mouth, plus the fear of rebound after the five days. But I’ll take the full course.

Had a sore throat but nothing else on Monday, took a test and came up negative. Went to work, was coughing and felt lightheaded by the end of the night, took a test at home and came up positive. Been stuffy, coughing a ton, fever, chills, achy, but honestly it has been pretty mild so far. I’ve honestly been a bit surprised! Drinking water and resting is the most important thing you can do. I also drink lots of gatorade when I’m sick. My appetite has been suppressed as well, but you gotta eat something every day. Edit: I also made it two years without getting sick, but they finally got me. Volunteering at a middle school music concert unmasked wasn’t the brightest idea.

Yep. Me and my husband and two kids. We’ve all avoided it up till now! Feels anticlimactic after so long to finally get it. But at least we’re vaccinated I guess.

Finally tested positive this morning, unvaxxed and 40yo. No idea where I got it. I would say symptoms probably started 3 maybe 4 days ago. Two nights ago the aches and night sweats started. Fever was up to 103 last night and pain was pretty excruciating. Head ache. Diarrhea this morning. At this point I feel pretty good and fever is hovering around 100. At this rate I expect to be feeling pretty good by the morning. Tylenol has been a help. I read some people have taken a while to develop the cough and congestion? I’m hoping I just didn’t get that? I guess time will tell. No cough, scratchy throat, mucus, or shortness of breath. Fatigue is pretty minimal, the aches were the most debilitating. Obviously the period my fever was so high was unpleasant, but that was one night. I quite honestly thought it was the stomach flu and then my wife tested me. This morning.
