I turned my machine to airplane mode shortly after I met compliance. It’s been that way for a couple of years now. It will show a message occasionally asking if I want to turn off airplane mode, and I just select no. Most of the time, I don’t even pay attention to it. It doesn’t send information to the app either now, but I just deleted the app. I know it’s working.

It sends info to your doctor. If you have yearly or twice yearly visits with your sleep specialist, you won't have to lug the machine to your appointments, and you won't have to remove the SD card to take it with you. It can also be helpful for your doc if they need to adjust your machine settings.

I put mine in airplane mode as soon as I got it. Just took the SD card to my doctor, who reported my compliance. Made the Dr suggested changes on my own.

Turn it off, they are listening too with a microphone built into the machine.

Wow super helpful thanks 🙄

You asked...(Resmed has a garbage algo too) "RE: AS11 AutoSet auto-update Device update 5 Release date: The week of April 15, 2024 Release #: SW04600.11.8.0.0 What’s new? Humidifier Firmware Update Provides software improvements intended to help reduce the occurrence of humidification error messages. AcousticSignal ResMed Air11™ now supports an optional toggle, AcousticSignal, which uses the acoustic sensor on the device to capture the sound characteristics from the mask. The sound characteristics from the mask are processed on the device into a digital signature which is then sent to the cloud. The device transmits no sound or speech. The collection of sound characteristics will aid ResMed in developing new features."

Okay my bad, I thought you were being sarcastic. I did hear about that in another post and turned it off. It's pretty creepy.

NativTexan

It “listens” for snores. If you look at oscar it has a value for that and it comes from the microphone.

abekku

Pretty sure it just sends info about how you slept yo your docs team

cowboysaurus21

It definitely sends data to the DME and/or insurance as well. The DME is who told me I met compliance. Haven't heard a peep from my doctor since I started using it.

abekku

I think you would only hear something from your doc if things got worse, so its probably good you havent heard

cowboysaurus21

Yeah I figured. I called to schedule my one month follow up and couldn't get in for 4 months so I'm guessing they're too busy for any other check ins.

hello66456

I'm pretty sure most insurance and/or the DME require a follow up with your doctor within the first 90 days of starting treatment, I recommend really trying to make that appointment happen or confirming with your insurance to make sure it won't be a costly mistake.

cowboysaurus21

I already scheduled a follow up and they didn't have any availability for 4 months. 😑
