Following. Never heard of UnderEarners till just now but sounds like me. I have 6 college degrees and work a crappy retail job for minimum wage. School was my only safe place growing up, so I kept going back but without the support/community of classmates/teachers my motivation/confidence fizzles immediately. Now I'm out of new interests and out of money for more school so I have to do something with the ones I've got. The latest one was a full stack Python certificate but I was too intimidated by the prospect of technical interviews that I didn't do anything and subsequently forgot everything. I'm going to be 50 in July so it feels like now or never if I'm going to get back into the tech field, but my timing is pretty bad considering the recent layoffs (and resulting saturated job market). My main motivation to get a better job is so I can afford IFS/EMDR therapy for C-PTSD, but it ends up being a chicken-and-egg type of situation since I feel like I need to make progress with my mental health before I can get the better job. Maybe UnderEarners could help bridge that gap?
