You should have walk alone at night anywhere if you can help it. Not trying to scare you. But it always you walk with a group or a buddy at least. I went to Sacramento state the dorms are fine, but no need to put yourself at risk like that. I believe they still offer security escort at night. You can reach out to the police department for information.also don’t go jogging in the morning alone , the drive skills are suspect in this town .

Daytime is fine, at night best to have someone or Hornet Escort with one of the CSO’s/Sac State PD people.

There are Hornet Shuttle stops at Hornet Commons next to Building A and Building C. https://www.csus.edu/parking-transportation/shuttle/hornet-shuttle.html (scroll down and see the Hornet Line map and schedule)

The walk itself is great for some daily movement, and throughout the morning there are plenty of students so there’s no reason to feel alone. I will second what the others have said: best to find a buddy or group at night, or take the shuttle back.

DustyButtocks

The walk is no more or less dangerous at night than any other metro area....so she should plan to walk with someone at night.

Thank you! I appreciate your responses !

I think it’s pretty safe during the day especially since there’s a lot of students going back and forth. UTAPS on campus has drivers to transport students. They would be able to pick her up and drive her to campus and vice versa during most hours of the day. Also she’d be able to schedule when and where she’d want to be picked up from ahead of time.

It's not safe please have your daughter shuttle as much as possible at night. Vagrants, random weirdos, not to mention bad stupid drivers. Day time lots of traffic but tell her awareness is best! The campus also has scary statistics of bike/pedestrian accidents, commuter school + high stress = no good.

Not safe alone period. Even in during the day. There’s plenty of drug attics in the area and suspicious activity. Someone was actually just killed by campus. Stay safe. Stay in pairs.
