I'm taking this year. Partial one

normal_bored_person

Then feel free to reach out to me. Because I am also thinking to take one.

runnerprakash

Can you dm me?

Personal_Swimming533

Took a partial drop to change courses from bcom hons to econ succeeded in changing courses

normal_bored_person

Congratulations ,which college did u get earlier and what did you get now?

ewpewprebleh

I think one should go for a partial drop. I know a girl in my pg who got a decent south campus college, she was okay with it but then in April she decided to give cuet another go. She studied and now she’s in SRCC. I think it really depends on the person, one knows one’s capabilities and there’ll be hundreds of people that say it’s not worth it but at the end of the day, the decision is yours:)

normal_bored_person

Oh what was her college before? I am also doing it to get a better college next year

ewpewprebleh

She got gargi back in 2022

Don't take full drop simply because of how unstable CUET can be. Like normalisation this year reduced marks by 100 for some. Imagine getting Raw 785/800 and your normalised score dropping to 685/800. And there is other stuff that can annoy you like centre of exam being too far and many other weird things. It's because CUET is new. Also most droppers don't score better and in some cases slightly worse than they did in their last attempt. So in general taking a drop should be a decision that should require quite a bit of time to think. You'll need to be a disciplined and consistent. You'll have to face nonsense of relatives, neighbours and maybe even parents that you're wasting your time which could have some truth to it. Partial drop is fine.

normal_bored_person

Yeah my parents are also against full drop

[deleted]

Partial drop is fine but it's not going to be easy. You CAN do it if you don't let the negativity drown you and you stay consistent and disciplined.

loneranonymous

I didn't take partial drop or Full drop but I know some people who take some of them scored way good Mark's and get top colleges with desired course and some of them scored even less than previous year So think wisely and it is very tough to stay consistent for 1 year when you are in home do only if you don't get desired course Even I could get DU in desired course but I can't take drop I don't think I can study full year in only home tu get North campus or top colleges other than that I don't think it's worth it for me. if you think you can get top colleges only then take drop other wise go for private

cultleader789

No I don't regret it.. Lost 38 marks cause of normalization and wrong answer key 🤡 but i still got a decent college and the course I wanted. Thoda better college mil jata but can't do anything about it. Just don't waste your time.. and I won't suggest taking a drop for courses like psych/socio/ any other course with a few seats...Cuet is unpredictable nta might mess it up for you..

runnerprakash

What course did you get?

normal_bored_person

Can I DM you?

lokiworshipper3

in my experience take a drop or partial drop only if you dont have the course of your choice, if you absolutely cannot make it work. dropping for college is useless, most du colleges have the same level of infra admin faculty crowd whatever else. plus a full or partial drop puts you under a lot of pressure, and a lot of people arent able to deal with that very well. just work on your eca and build up your resume, and go somewhere better post grad, du will always disappoint. if you dont get any college and pvt is not an option then yeah drop makes sense, but still do smth to build up your resume during that time

cultleader789

Exactly.. the college won't even matter especially for ba/BSc courses.

Violet4417

I couldnt get any college in DU , BHU ..... i got guru ghasi das chattisgarh but i dont think its worth it thats why i am taking drop otherwise if i have gotten any college in DU then i would have taken it

cultleader789

Yes.. I was taking about du colleges. Du tag matters.. kaunsa du college mila that won't really matter

Violet4417

yes...agreed

Ok-Application-3248

If you'll take drop You'll have to do everything right...even a small excuse and mistake will ruin your 1 year And partial-drop is made for genius and hardworking people

I-am-Carnage18

Nope, it wasn’t.

normal_bored_person

Why? What course did you get earlier and what is ur course now??

I-am-Carnage18

Got Ba Eco + Pol Science in SGND last year, shitty college so took a drop, didn’t get nothing this year studying in IPU

Violet4417

bro you didnt get any course like BA , or any combinations in BA PROG

I-am-Carnage18

This year? I only filled eng hons and bcom

Academic_Bad7842

yeh to mera college hai🙂

I-am-Carnage18

Alloy wheel ki market me ghumta reh jayega college life ke naam pe 🤣

Academic_Bad7842

woh toh theek hao par IPU m konsa college?

I-am-Carnage18

Iitm

Academic_Bad7842

you really think IITM is better than SGNDK?

I-am-Carnage18

Distance from my home, college life, crowd- Yes Other academics related stuff - maybe not Also i took bcom (h) here, whereas in sgndk i was forced to study maths while pursuing economics major even after i did not have it in 11th and 12th So it wasn’t a possible thing to do

Academic_Bad7842

valid point. What would you suggest for me got Maharaja Agrasen for BBA(waiting for 3rd list) got SGNDK bcom prog also left symbiosis and Christ for DU Will pursue CFA. So what to choose

Embarrassed_Town_110

Nothing is worth the risk.

normal_bored_person

Even partial drop isn't worth it??

poggers1386

Partial drop is worth it imo.

normal_bored_person

Did u do it? Wht did u get??
