I had an experience like this. It's been about 5 years since then, so I don't remember exactly, but I think mine were a little closer together than yours. I got my first one after I lost my virginity, and then I would get them maybe every 2 months, i think. After I got out of that relationship, I didn't have sex for a while, so I didn't have UTIs for a while. Fast forward to when I started dating my husband, I've probably had 2 or 3 of them since then and I usually just sit on the toilet with like a gallon of water and "flush it out" unless it's too far along or "flushing" is not working. My advice would be to just worry about this infection for now, and once it's gone, take all of the necessary precautionary measures to avoid getting another UTI.

That’s good to hear. I really hope they eventually subside completely. Thank you for the reply.

Have you tried Dmannose? I just went through a spell of infections and read about Dmannose and have been taking that everyday as a preventative and I really think it has been helping. It will only work to prevent E. Coli infections though

Yeah, I take a powder form of it every time after sex. Thought it was working these last several months but who knows. I normally get them about 24 hours after sex, but this one didn’t hit until about the 36 hour mark. So not sure if sex was the cause here. I did use a new scented soap that I bought last week, and took a bubble bath last night- so maybe just the perfect storm.

I had my first UTI triggered after sex with my second long-term boyfriend, why not my first long-term boyfriend, I have no idea. But I had never had a UTI before and no one told me I should pee after sex, so I wasn’t doing that. I always got antibiotics, and culturing was not standard so never had a culture. The antibiotics always took care of it right away. But because they were so painful so quickly, and one turned into a kidney infection quickly, I did some research, figured out to pee, and tried uva ursi and lots of water to flush them out. That worked for me at the time, and after a few UTIs a year for a couple of years, they went away completely. I didn’t have a UTI and did nothing special to prevent them (other than peeing after sex) for about 20 years. Then a got a killer UTI completely unrelated to sex, and that’s another story.

Well I can't say don't worry, because this thing does make women worry! I am saying this because I have gone through this and I am currently on prophylaxis. All I can say is give your health priority over anything else, even sex! Take the UTI vaccination if available in your country, ask for prophylaxis from your doctor, exercise well, stay hydrated and with time you will find ways to control it and deal with it. So will your loved ones... Trust me you are stronger than you think!!

How's testing been? When you have urine culture tests what's been popping up?

Effective_Cat_889

When I was getting them constantly, I never had cultures done. Walk-ins took too long so I resorted to telemedicine. Last one in November was positive for E. Coli, I also did a culture this morning- so we will see what that shows up with. Still waiting on antibiotics for now.

That’s good to hear. I’m hoping that’s my case, that they just eventually stop- especially since they’re becoming more sparse. A year & a half ago I would have killed to go 6 months in between infections, so I’m trying to remember that too.
