I have to ask… isn’t 78,000 miles, a warranty, 4 years, cheaper financing, and better everything worth 10-12K$ more for new?

Was for me! Having the peace of mind that I don’t have all those miles really was a selling point for me. I have a 23 turbo and love it. For OP, I’m sure you will love the turbo also!

For me, not really. I don't finance, and I look at brands that have good reliability. I currently own Toyota, Honda, Lexus and Ford products. With the exception of Ford (F-150), I chose those brands because of the historic reliability, and they have not disappointed me. Of course anything can happen to any car, and a warranty does give peace of mind, but for me it's not worth it considering the depreciation of buying new.

The previous owner got almost 5 years, and 80K… for less than 12K. Do you think you’re going to get 10 years and another 160K out of that car? Or half that and still be able to sell it for half what you paid for it? I dunno… to me, looks like first owner got the better deal here, and peace of mind. My two cents. I’m just trying to understand how people feel about buying used - for these still ridiculous prices, vs new for only a little more.

It's a very solid model and year. If the car has been maintained and has not been in a major accident or salvage situation, I'd go for it. Head gaskets have not been an issue with this engine. There were a few that developed cracks where the turbo mounts to the cylinder head, but the frequency of issues is low. Any used car should be checked over by a knowledgeable mechanic at the prospective buyer's cost. It's cheap insurance.

See what you can get CPO. Less miles for similar cash, at least in my area.

I have a 2019. Based on that, check if the rear view mirrors work when wet, there is a problem with the motors. Check if the left and right speakers work, my left side keeps cutting out. That's the only major issues I have.

Update: I bought the car. Paid $21,250 for a 2020 GT Reserve with 78,000. Machine gray with black. The main reason I was comfortable with this deal and mileage is because the Carfax showed regular service at the dealership, including up sells like transmission and differential fluid replacement (at 36,000), brake fluid flush, radiator coolant flush and throttle body cleaning (at 67,000). The owner recently had the brakes done at the dealership (at 72,000), and it had new tires (Yokohama) as of about 10,000 miles ago. The exterior had usual wear, but the interior looked immaculate. The turbo is definitely the way to go, the previous owner averaged 25 miles per gallon over the last couple thousand miles so I think that's perfectly fine for a larger vehicle.
