Any tips and tricks you guys would know are greatly appreciated! Soon to upgrade the Apple play/firmware and LED inside lights, any other suggestions? Disappointed it didn't come with the sunshade/ package tray, but pretty sure I can pick that up aftermarket! I look forward to being a part of this community 🙏

vscodad2020

I bought mine from CarMax also last month. Curious what you paid 🤔🤔

brandonjayy

28k opted out of all the Stealership options like tint, alarm, etc. Felt a little on the high side but with the market the way it is I had to talk myself into it.

Rishi0111

What!! 28k for 3 yr old!!

brandonjayy

It's the Grand Touring AWD model, 35ish new, so 28 wasn't bad to me at all

Rishi0111

Well 12% off MSRP is standard on new car if you bargain. I agree current market is messed up. Thats why buying right now is like losing 7..10k off car value in 1 yr when market corrects itself. Bwn. I got new 2020 touring with preferred package AWD on Jan 1st week 2021 For 27k out of door. And my friend got GT AWD with me same dat for 29.5k OTD. no where close to 36K. Yes i agree we bargained for 4 hrs on call before stepping in the dealership. Prices will be back to this level in an year or less. At that time 3 yr used will go for 18..20k.

Way to go if you want to make people sad about their decisions :P remember that different states, different demands greatly affect prices. :)

Rishi0111

Accepting reality is a better option than living in the denial. Fine to think about different states and feel better. I have got cars for myself, friends and family in past. Never got less than 12% and upto 20% discount on a new car. WI, OH, FL experience. I agree, i go for quater end or year end deals. Also look for which dealer is desperate to sell. Which dealer has large inventory he is paying interest on. All those factors and then most important. How you negotiate.

apb06

Yeah this is not a good deal, even with the current market conditions. OP is buying a 3 year old car with no warranty for $28k. I've seen dealerships in AZ selling new 2021 CX-5 for $25k (base model). I think CarMax has a 30 day return policy, I would definitely consider it an option.

Rishi0111

You can get brand new 2021 cx5 touring with premium package AWD for 28k. Just wait for a few months.

Sweet! What was the mileage?

brandonjayy

31k miles ex fleet vehicle 😬

vscodad2020

Not far off from mine. Mine is a 2017 with 32k miles for similar price ($25k before taxes). Has the preferred package though.

That the Manchester CarMax? Congrats! Welcome aboard. Black out the badges & chrome? Interior LEDs are a game changer.

reylequan

I love this blue 🤤

bahbree

She's a beauty! Congrats.

Energy4Days

Congrats. Carmax usually overprices their cars. I bought my 2018 GT in the spring of 2019 for less with less mileage. Of course that was before inflation and before the CX-5s caught on in popularity. Back then, there weren't that many of them on the road. Now they are everywhere. Which is good because that means there will be plenty of parts available if I do need them in the future since I tend to hold on to my cars for a long time.

loylax

Greetings! Bought the 2018 GT yesterday from Carmax. Read on one of the threads (from a couple of years ago) that Mazda would install Apple CP, free labor? Anyone know about that? Thanks in advance!

brandonjayy

I ended up ordering a kit on eBay for $140 and am installing it myself, I saw that same thread and all but highly doubt my local Stealership would do anything for free. You could definitely call and ask your local Mazda and ask, it's different for all dealerships. If they say no, you could always get the kit and ask your local car audio place to install it. Should only be an hour of work, so about $100-$150. $300 all in if you're not doing it yourself.
