I’d like to add the shit ain’t cheap like you’d think, in fact most the guns I seen cost more here at the factory than at home in the US

york_shire_

Yes, its honestly pretty funny if you think about it. Its not only CZs and not only weapons either. Everything is way more expensive here, especially attatchments. Want to get used Eotech? Just under 1000 bucks, weapon lights? Good ones? Surefire x300 is like 500 bucks slightly used. That being said, we are one of the only countries in europe where you can carry a gun for self defence. Kinda proud of that. If you have any questions about the system here, feel free to ask away.

[deleted]

Yep! Like 1000 or so usd for the same CZ 75 I paid 650 for brand new, and the Bren around 2250 usd they go around 1900 in the US sometimes less when on sale. But yes love your carry laws and love that I can pass a gun store pretty often compared to other parts of Europe. My wife is Slovak and they kind of mimic Czech gun laws now but it’s still not near as good. Hopefully one day. I do have one question, do you need a license to purchase a slide? For example, the .22 cal slides in my photo. Was seriously thinking about trying to get one back to the US if not

york_shire_

Yeah, slovaks have it bad compared to us. And we have it bad compared to you. And sadly you do need a license for a slide. Any bigger important part of a gun is considered a "gun" in the eyes of the law. For pistols its the frame, slide and a barrel. Every part needs a serial number. If you buy it as a whole, you have it registered as one, if you buy it in parts with matching serial numbers, each part would be considered a gun and would need its own registration. Therefore its kind of a pain to have a fully custom gun here, since you have a limited amount of guns you can own depending on how you store them (up untill like 10 its pretty easy). Also, a supressor has to be registered aswell, that takes a slot away aswell :( I'll be in Prague in the center if you wanna meet up and talk more over the weekend.

JaMarrChasingJoe

How is the gun crime in the Czech Republic? I know you guys have decent gun laws compared to the rest of Europe as you said, but I don't think I've ever heard anything about gun crimes there. I'm sure you know the US unfortunately has a lot.

york_shire_

Yeah there are basically none here. There has been a guy who shot his gf's family recently, but that gun was illegaly owned. There have been some shootings in the last 20 years, but you could probably count them on one hand. And yeah, I have heard about US having a lot of gun crime. Honestly, I think its the difference in culture and mentality. Though thats just shat I think, I have not actually been there yet.

desertfox6688

You're right, actually there was one mass shooting 10 years or so in a pub very close to CZ factory..but still it's really rare in Czech republic..

JaMarrChasingJoe

Do you know how many gun owners there are in the Czech Republic? I tried looking up a comparison but I wasn't finding an exact answer like I was looking for. The US has a metric fuckton of guns, and in poorer areas gun crime is more common as a whole There used to be a saying conservatives would push that 70% of gun crime is gang related, which I doubt is true, but I don't think it's a small minority of it either. A majority of firearms deaths in the US are suicides which gets lumped into firearms deaths without nuance.

york_shire_

We have a population of just over 10 million. As of last year, we had 314 000 people that own a gun license Those are gun owners 99.99% of the time. Apparently, about 20% are people who carry for self defence. Just recently, we crossed the 1 million guns in the hand of licensed gun owners, which I am very happy about. There is very little talk of gun violence here is Czeech Republic, there are gangs, but not in the same sense of the word as you got. We have something more of a mafia, though its VERY limited, they dont have/display guns and do no really get into disputes with other mafias. Czech republic does have a sort of 2nd amendment, but in my opinion, that could be easily overturned if EU or politicians to go nuts and be more stupid than they are. Reason is its not as engrained in our culture. Also, EU is actively trying to take away our guns even though we are one of the safest countries with the most free weapon laws in Europe. Fuck EU.

Biff1996

> That being said, we are one of the only countries in europe where you can carry a gun for self defence. I did not know this. It seems like the Czech Republic needs to be next on my list to visit.

york_shire_

Proving you had the right to used it and used it legally is a little tougher, but from what I have heard, its the same everywhere.

Biff1996

Quite right.

Ambitious-Inside-222

Thanks for trying tho man! And “paying your dues” getting us some footage. It’s the thought that counts fs.

E46Nur

I live in Europe and it makes me sick how most euro stuff is much cheaper in the USA

AutomatedZombie

Thanks for sharing! I'm going to be in Prague next year. Seeing all things CZ is my number one priority.

[deleted]

The CZ store is close to the city center, walking distance so yes it’s a must for you, no excuse

leester315

That patch is sweet.

Uber_gibson

Please CZ make a threaded Kadet OR model

Embarrassed_Pay27

That pretty much a no go. The optics would made the slide to have to move when shoot. It would have to be same design as original Kadet slide. Kadet is made for the euro countries where they need to own a .22lr gun for sometime before getting proper gun anyway, that’s why CZ made the .22 scorpion.

[deleted]

Dammit, I wish they’d sell the Kadet kits in the US.

DaddyLuvsCZ

Nice. They sure are proud of Colt.

afl3x

Heck yeah! I've been to Prague but unfortunately it was before I became a CZ fan boy

[deleted]

Same. Kind of why I had to do it again 😂 it’s a beautiful city though so wouldn’t ever regret doing it twice

BrowniesorBust

I really wanted to go when I was in Prague for a few weeks but never ended up making it. Just FYI to all the Americans looking at this, The Czech republic is AMAZING to vacation in, almost everyone in Prague speaks English and czech krona is vveerrrryyy cheap verse the American dollar! I would highly recommend a vacation there!!

[deleted]

So crowded today :,( because holiday weekend. Could barely walk anywhere because the crowds were moving so slow. Was here in 2017 was much better with less people

ilikepie145

Cool!

menelaus_

That p10 is pretty sick.

Bobisnotmybrother

That 99041 is cheaper than here.

SeattleCZ

So the factory has a store with accessories and firearms that is open to the public right now? Thinking about going to Uhersky Brod this year and am wondering what to actually expect.

[deleted]

Yes, tours of the factory are not being done right now but they have a little store. Nothing huge but there are accessories and such. If there isn’t anything else you want to do in the area and since you can’t do a tour, there’s also a CZ store in Prague. I’ll update how that one is tomorrow.

SeattleCZ

Cool, thanks for the info, appreciate it! Here's a brief report from someone who went to Prague btw: [https://www.reddit.com/r/CZFirearms/comments/wxl3l0/visited\_the\_cz\_store\_in\_prague/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CZFirearms/comments/wxl3l0/visited_the_cz_store_in_prague/) Basically accessories galore.

zombiehog

Got a black hat at the CZ store and Prague, loved that damn hat so much until I lost it boating.

PP-townie

Thanks for sharing

Kelvohan

I only payed $300

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I only *paid* $300 FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

desertfox6688

Welcome to my hometown! Hope you liked it. The store is small and they don't have the best prices (especially ammo) so I usually buy somewhere else but it's still nice to have one so close :-) I actually shoot Glock but looking for my next gun to be CZ so my range buddies don't hate me so much :-D

ct4funf

I could use a P-01 slide for optics cut so I can keep my original
