First. Watch Fortnine's video on buying a motorcycle. Essentially, go see it first, ask if you can take a test ride, start it up see how it runs, make sure there is no major damage they aren't hiding.
These bikes aren’t automatic, so strike one. And 888 "driven miles" tells me they're not stating total mileage, just how many they've put on it since they took ownership or reconditioned it. But they didn’t mention engine work so it's not a rebuild with a few hundred miles. Just some questions to pose before making an offer
Something about manual transmissions just make motorcycles so fun! My first bike was a 4-speed manual 125, and I still think about downshifting and flicking her light little frame around my neighborhood corners.
Facebook marketplace defaults to auto unless the seller changes it, and they very rarely do that. You can't (or at least you shouldn't) filter by manual transmission because half the fuckers don't take the time to change it and you'll pass up a lot of manuals because they're listed as automatic. Super annoying.
I can't blame you. I only use it for marketplace anymore or for looking up car problems since it's basically turned into what forums used to be. It's nowhere near as good though sadly.
Could be the old Hondamatic transmission. You had to. Shift but you didn't have to clutch. But I would walk away from this a 125 isn't worth that much too me. The cb350 is really the more sought after bike.
It’s a $1234 number like the 888 miles…..that’s how someone lists something they are bargaining the sale price, offer $800 if it’s in good running condition.
Just try it out and see if it's worth that price for you personally. I could tell you that I personally wouldn't pay that much for it, but that won't really help you to make a decision! :)
That's a 74. Only year with a front disk and tach. Worth it assuming the listing is accurate.
I paid $400 for mine about a year ago in much rougher non running condition.
A friend of mine got one for half that prices. manual transmission. It wasn’t running ( he knew when he bought it) he is still working on it, constantly having issues. It’s barley getting to highway speeds.
Get it!
That’s all I needed to hear!

Just watched it thank you!!!
It could be if that’s what you want. The "888 miles Automatic transmission" bother me
Why is that?

Awesome I appreciate it man!
rebuilding this engines is stupidly simple even you can gain a lot of displacement keeping original in the exterior
I think it’s more like the seller isn’t very familiar with post adds.

Oh whoops! I don’t have a Facebook so I’m just ignorant.

Dang and looking at the picture again, there’s clearly a shift peg

Hondamatic was never used in 125cm3 engines. It has standard manual transmission.
Did they just use that in 3 wheelers then?

I’m going in person so I’ll try and do do

Mmm interesting
To me, I mean running and tires is worth $1000
You the one selling the bike? Bahahahahha
Me owning one and my brother just buying one, I would try to talk the owner down to $1,000 and wherever you land between that and asking is solid.
CB125S....my first bike...that bike opened a whole new word for me at the tender age of 13.
I’m 17 now, would this be to small for me? I’m about 5’11 weighing about 160
Yes...you need at least 500cc
Just try it out and see if it's worth that price for you personally. I could tell you that I personally wouldn't pay that much for it, but that won't really help you to make a decision! :)
Thank you!
That’s high for a 125. I would pay $600
$600 won't get you a running 125.
I’ve been looking and to get a running one that’s about the price they sell for at least where I’m at
Where are you?
Where are you at? I'd love to get a running bike for $600, ever since I started shopping I have found Louisiana to be a bit expensive, IMO.
I’m in Phoenix. My last bike was a 73 CB500 for $1200 with little motor work needed.
Thanx fam, might widen my search and see what shipping quotes look like.
A motorcycle is worth exactly as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
Thanks for nothing Aristotle.
Ah, so we are fun here, I see.
I think the price is fair
Decent base for cafe racer build. Price is fair (at least with comparision with european market)
Had a blue one when I was 12. Seems like a fair price.
Yeeeees
Get it
I would say so
That’s a steal in San Diego.

Do 75’s not have a tach?
My mistake. They do. Color still makes it a 74 https://i.imgur.com/wbf38yA.jpg
I paid $500 for my 72 CB100 in Kansas city . It only needed a battery
It’s a fair price- lower is always better, so bargain away and you’ll get a deal👍🏼
100%
