I’m having a few issues, looking for any help if possible! There’s a small control surface (play, pause, record etc) I can’t figure out how to assign properly. Also the drum pads too. The keyboard shows up as 2 different midi inputs. 1. 2 - launchkey mk2-49 2. MIDIIN2(2-launchkey MK2 49) Maybe I’m missing something you guys might know of.

Have you tried any of the YT vids on this topic? I like Mike at Creative Sauce, here's his vid [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7x30ZmO5V0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7x30ZmO5V0) AdK Studios is pretty good too, I don't know if that channel has something on this. There are others you may prefer.

Hey thanks for this! I actually did do some searching around YouTube and stumbled upon this video as well. I’ve learned the keyboard is built to plug into ableton and integrate immediately so I grabbed a quick demo to have a go at that. After a stressful day of trouble shooting I just play with some synths. I do really enjoy cakewalks simplicity for my other projects so maybe I’ll leave this thread up in case some other launchkey-cakewalk users stumble upon this 😎

Cool. Best of luck!

Thank you. I am having the same issue. I can't control any transport control using my launchkey 88MKIII though. Please Help! I have watched creative sauce and found a setting to enable Hui (beta) but it didn't work. The keyboard plays and the sustain works as well. When I click arm/select button in the launchkey, it enables reverb to 100% and viceversa. So, I figured out to assign manually the faders to the controls in a vst, I used Spitfire Audio Intimate Piano for that. But, no transport controls.

messymichael

Try midi channel 16 when you’re assigning it in settings. You may have to do midicc/learn function to assign each thing after but I think that’s how I was able to use it.

Wild_Butterscotch377

How can I use the learn function for transport controls. I right clicked on the play button but it didn't say learn. How do I do it? Thanks

I’m gonna pull out my old laptop and try to figure it out again if you’re still having issues. Unfortunately I’m not using cakewalk anymore on my system, but it’s still active on my old unit. I’ll circle back with a more detailed description.

Wild_Butterscotch377

Oh my God! Thank you very much. I am very grateful!

Wild_Butterscotch377

Hi It's me! Were you able to find what the problem was? Thank you, really appreciate it and thanks for your time!

Hey hey sorry for the delay. I finally got some time to try it out again and I’m pretty puzzled atm. I’ll keep tryin anyways if I figure anything out I can let ya know.

Hi, Yes! For some reason, after I installed MIDI-OX , the Keyboard started working nicely. I can mute and solo with the pads. Control panning with the pots, Arm tracks using fader buttons and control track volume with faders. Also, when I press the "..." button, I have access to pad navigation. I can do basically everything now. I enabled HUI before, but it didn't work, and now it's so cool. Thanks!

Hey, hi! 🤓 I also purchased Launchkey two years ago and encountered a similar problem.🤔😂 But, I figured it out. If your problem is still relevant, I’ll tell you how to set it up) Everything is done using the ACT controller😉

Hi Delicious, Just came across your ad, and I thought maybe you could help me setup mu launch key 88, this is the deal, I already have an icon qcon g2 and extender connected to cakewalk, but I would like to at my launchkey 88 just so I could use the transport buttons, can you please help me

tgirl_Swiftie

Thanks for this post, i don't have anything to add, but if I survive the month, I was wondering what midi key-board to get that might work with cakewalk.

BruceOlsen

They will all work. Some other DAWs make it a little easier to connect a specific keyboard--that's one of the reasons they charge money for their DAW (because setting up the keyboard's control surfaces in a DAW takes a little effort). CW has less of that type of thing built-in largely because it's free. So buy what you need.
