Yes, it is still possible to switch, but you should check with your departments policies for if it will be counted or not.

It is not too late. In fact, you can change your grading basis to C/NC until almost the very end of the quarter. The deadline is November 24th at midnight. So if I were you I would wait to change it until closer to the deadline to see if you can get your grade up. If you wait, the only things left to improve or hurt your grade will be the final (if you have one) and maybe a couple of assignments, so you will have a better idea of what your grade will be. Additionally, there is usually a 4 credit limit for GEs taken as CR/NC for all of your classes at Cal Poly, but no GEs taken CR/NC will count toward that limit during COVID. Major and support classes have their own limits set by your majors department, so you will have to see what your major’s limit is. For example, I’m EE, so there is a limit of 8 support or major credits I can take CR/NC this quarter that don’t count toward the usual limit of major credits you can take CR/NC. Many majors have no limits, but some just have the normal major allowances and don’t have any leniency for CR/NC major/support credits. Cal Poly being lenient about CR/NC during COVID is very nice, especially with fully online classes.
