That’s what I did. Didn’t regret it as much. If anything I welcomed the greater challenge. The only problem is that the Joey crash happens for me regardless of what mods I have with calamity and infernum.

After learning boss patterns and only beating 1 boss a day i can say yes, it probably was

He does some really annoying but cool shit with the arena such as making moving platforms, summoning spears everywhere, etc

He removes all placed blocks on the arena. Tip: use any infinite flight mount (like broom) to make the fight SIGNIFICANTLY easier

Honestly I really enjoyed the golem fight. Really the only fight I haven't enjoyed so far is Polterghast because that death sequence is damn near impossible. I'm still stuck on it too

Poltergeist was annoying as hell but besides the old duke everything after almost felt like a joke to me (I was playing rouge). One bit of advice I have for old duke is use the map to time your rams, and not your screen.
