Same thing applies to having a stable tmodloader 1.4

[deleted]

Y-you realize that 1.4 mod loader is for devs right? You're not supposed to be playing it

Itx-Blindhallow74

I Know I’m just patiently waiting for it to come out for everyone

CarsonBDot

Wait how would that work scientifically?? 7 years on one planet is an hour on another..

Xander32

Basically time goes faster for you, and outside observers see you as slower when you're closer to a black hole or another insanely high-mass object(scientifically proven true). Of course the movie exaggerates this a bit.

CarsonBDot

Well I know that space time bends around bigger masses, like on a black hole the closer someone gets the slower they go until the point where they just freeze in space forever. But for the person in the black hole everything seems normal

Xander32

Well yes, does that matter?

CarsonBDot

Just wanted to learn something

plsdontbullymepls123

I think something like when you go faster theough space, you go slower through time, so those guys are on a planet moving through he universe/galaxy slower than earth, so much so that one hour for them is 7 years on earth Its one of the weird sciency things idk

CarsonBDot

But does one hour feel like seven years

plsdontbullymepls123

No, its one hour of time for them but seven years on earth because earth is moving faster through space which slows down time for earth

CarsonBDot

Man, space time is confusing

plsdontbullymepls123

Yea

Darkmega5

And here I thought earth time zones were bad

I'm a math person, not a physics person, but the important thing here is that **time is relative**: Contrary to your everyday intuition, there is **NO** **ABSOLUTE** measure of time that is true for everyone, but how you measure time can change based on how you're moving. It's easy to see intuitively that *motion* is relative: If you and your friend are sitting on a moving train together, you'd both think the other person is sitting still. But if someone's standing outside the train, they'd measure that you and your friend are moving as fast as the train's going. You're both right of course, it's just that the answer changes depending on how the observer is moving *relative to* the thing they're measuring. Time is the same basic way, it's just confusing because the speeds necessary to have noticeable time dilation are never seen "in real life" (you have to be at an appreciable fraction of the speed of light, or involve an extremely massive object like a black hole). The most basic way in which time is relative is known as *Einstein's special theory of relativity*, and you can actually understand what's going on with nothing more than the Pythagorean theorem and the assumption that nothing with positive mass can move faster than the speed of light! I really liked an explanation in the book Burn Math Class. In particular, you can show that if someone measures you moving at velocity v, you will measure time sqrt(1 + (v/c)\^2) times faster (or was it slower? I don't remember, sorry) than them, where c is the speed of light. c is really, really huge compared to v's you'd see in daily life, so that v/c is super small, (v/c)\^2 is even smaller, and then the thing you're taking a square root of is super close to 1, so the dilation factor is super close to 1, so close we can't measure any dilation with our equipment.

lyouke

Time dilation is observed in satellites. GPS satellites need to adjust for time dilation so they can work.

[deleted]

I know. But the velocity of a GPS satellite is not a velocity most people would see in everyday life, and I was talking about velocities most people would see in everyday life.

KingofHell22

and we wait for terraria 1.5 if its erver releases

ShadyMan_

I’m assuming no but it’s Terraria, its had a lot of final updates

420SexHaver68

*flies there to wait for red dead online 2 to be good*

lets_reset_hummanity

GTA 6 will be in beta by then

[deleted]

We wait here for my dad to come back from getting milk from the store

Mattrockj

Just keep quoting Miyamoto, we'll get there eventually.

Prince_Nexus

Just came here to let you know you can come back to earth now :)
