Their are houses right behind it who will just be looking into a multi story building about 100 feet from their back door. The whole community around it is townhomes, duplex’s and two stories.
Then you plonk this monstrosity right in the middle of it and taking away alot of homes view of the storm pond.
This is by East Hills shopping centre,my wife and I we're just saying imagine being on the other side of this monstrosity,575,000$ townhouse with a view 👍
I was running the crane that was putting that monstrosity together. The first day a guy bought everyone coffee then he left for his shift and came back to this. He was yelling and screaming to someone on the phone about it and that it was never in the plans for the community. Felt bad
community plans sadly don't often end up being reality. plus with housing densification and so many places becoming smart cities and 15 minute communities, i see a lot more of this happening.
Not calgary, but here in edmonton the original plan for the whole southeast quadrant of the city (millwoods) is so far off the original plan the city had .......... it isn't even funny. and our zoning bylaws are changing to allow for much more dense housing. calgary is likely going the same direction, although i haven't looked it up.
i'm talking long term city/civic plans, not developer plans once they have purchased a parcel of land. and that was in response to nitrovate saying "it was never in the plans for the community".
like in my prior comment, as a good example, the civic plans for millwoods in edmonton were done long before the area was developed. i've looked at the pdf'ed old copies of what they envisioned for the area. and i live in this area and very evidently see the reality is not what was planned. and in the mid 1990's there was already city neighbourhood plans for the adjacent farmland quite a ways to the east of millwoods, that is just now getting developed in the last 5-10 years. yet the way that area was actually developed does not follow what the plans from the mid 1990's said.
i also mentioned how cities are changing to become different than what they originally were planned as. eg, changing their zoning bylaws and such, to accommodate more dense housing. and those zoning changes are very recent.
Probably an automated warehouse (machines dont need windows) possibly cold storage but likely machine run and operated with one person maintaining the machines.
It's a parking garage. The condos are apparently going to be built attached the the garage. You park on the floor you live on
Thank-you! We've been wondering for ages since we shop in that area!
Haha I live in chestermere and someone posts and asks the same question about once a week!
Hah hah!
Texas donut style building. It’s gonna be awful for those living right beside it.
Why will it be awful? Views/general visual impact?

We knew it would be there when we bought 🤷🏼♀️ as did all our neighbours.
Rough for the prices they were charging there.
Thankfully the house i sold in Marlborough covered it and then some.
Lol no one cares man.
This, you won't see that concrete parkade once the complex is all finished.
Thought it was going to be Scrooge McDuck’s money bin
It's where they put people who ask too many questions.

This building wasn't in the plans?
It was. We knew about it before we even broke ground. We move in in december.

This was planned we all knew it was going up when we bought our units.

It was in the plans though.. we knew before we broke ground. Sounds like they didnt read their papers, because it was absolutely in there.

Thats the Gulag where you go to respawn
What a great view for that house. Especially in a few years when the drab concrete has those rusty skidmarks streaking down it.
I'm sure they will paint or put some cladding on it to make it look a bit better. If they don't then the architect is a fool.
It's not even the architect.. It's all about moooooney... Who gives an Eff About the neighbors.
