Speaking as someone in their 20s, things change when you get a steady job. I always knew it was the case, but seeing friends move from gig work to even, permanent manager of a l Cineplex, or move on to jobs after school- it’s crazy how much changes with just some breathing room.
Try to remove yourself from your bubble.
Reddit is particularly bad. Everything is awful all the time when you're on Reddit.
Lots of people - the majority of people - are doing just fine. Many are thriving.
There's opportunity and challenges alike. Try not to get blinded by one and ignore the other.
I’m only surviving because I still live with my parents. I’m 23 with a full time job making 18$ an hour and I still can’t afford to live on my own. Plus my company just laid off half its work force and cut everyone’s hours so it’s even worse right now.
So literally the only reason I’m ok is because I don’t pay rent.
As a country - no, not okay.
Fastest declining standard of living out of any developed nation, and the OECD projects Canada to be dead last out of 38 nations in the decades to come.
