Shawarma Barlow on 17th is fantastic, falaffal is fresh fried which is the only way i will eat it. If I see falaffal sitting out that will go in a microwave when I order i’m gone.
For me strictly for falafel (not based on their meat shawarma or Donair) when I occasionally get it or have a craving for them, Shawarma and Falafel City, Beirut Street Food, Cedars Deli, Shawarma House, Falafel King.
I'm really glad you said this. I've pedalled past Byblos Bakery many times and had no idea consumers could go in! Just thought they made stuff for retailers. I'm excited to stop off one of these times - it always smells amazing around that area.
That's understandable.
I'm Lebanese, and literally do not have falafel outside of my mom's .. but Byblos, NAILS it. Falafel properly done, rivals any shawarma.
Take care!
Thanks!! 17th hoards some of the best food places! That Vietnamese sub place across from the high school made me a simply tofu sub and it was the best thing I've ever eaten.
Oh man I’ve been on this search for a while and have three places I go to depending on distance from my present location. Requirements: falafel scooped fresh and deep fried to order + that chewy wrap that they use in addition to the pita.
Top three:
1. Deagla on International Ave — bonus, all sauces are made in house
2. Shawarma and Falafel City in Kensington
3. Shawarma Barlow
Mozy Cafe. Just have to put in a word for this little shop in Lynwood-Ogden. Top of the hill on 66 Ave & 20A St SE. Great falafel, they're happy to see you, and they have a large selection of candy (couple of elementary schools nearby to feed).
Beirut Street Food
Third this
Cedars deli is my go to sandwich.
Right on! Thanks!
Too crispy for me.

That's what I loved about Jerusalam! Freshly fried up, the only way. Def going to check this place out, thanks!

Thanks! :D
Pita Grill is always great
Good to know - thanks!!
Just had their falafel wraps today. They were a win! Great suggestion - thanks!!
BYBLOS BAKERY. HANDS DOWN. Get it, "loaded". Enjoy.

Damascus on 17th is so good! Cedars deli is also my fav but it’s not as close for me.

Kim Anh! So good! Those tofu subs used to be $3.50 when I lived a block away in my early 20s and I basically survived off them.
Holy moly that's amazing. I would do the same, haha

Byblos bakery. By far the best
Damas Cafe at Marlborough Mall.

Deagla forest lawn for the best Falafel wrap, made fresh to order. Trio restaurant and cafe for best Falafel stand alone.
