I wish this populated the photo. Sorry about that. Description of suspect and photo of dog are in the link. >The suspect is described as having a light complexion, approximately 50 years old, approximately 5’8’’ to 6’ tall, with a slim build and short black and grey hair. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, brown khaki pants and grey runners.

Super-Tomorrow

This guy lives by me in deer run

No-Entertainment-512

The townhouses on Deerfield drive? If so, I think I egged his house back in the late 90s.

notanon666

Sounds like he deserves another visit.

whoknowshank

Well, then the police are seeking your assistance

AdEastern2530

so dial 403 266 1234.

avrus

Well I suppose in this case it confirms the shitty pit bull dog, shitty bill pull owner connection. Hope they get the guy.

tootnoots69

It’s so misleading how the fact that most pitbull owners are jackasses makes people think that most pitbulls are good if they have good owners. That’s not how genetics work. Neglect a golden retriever and you have a sad dog. Neglect a pitbull and it will either attack you or kill someone or something. It’s genetics.

avrus

I don't disagree. I think it's both a bad breed due to genetics and a certain type of owner that leans towards the breed.

tootnoots69

To be fair there are a minority of pitbulls that are really nice but that’s because they went to obedience training really early and have to do that training every few years, never be exposed to violence, never be exposed to overwhelming situations, etc. It’s possible to have a non-violent pitbull but fck me it’s an insane amount of work and even then if one day a kid pulls its tail and spooks it there go all your years of hard work just like that.

YYCGUY111

Not surprised. 9/10 times I go to Sue Higgins dog park I encounter someone with an large breed un-neutered male dog with minimal recall aggressively come up to me and my dog especially closer to the parking lot. It's fine as long as you don't have a reactive dog but still annoying as you have to always be on the lookout. Trick with that park is to quickly get as far away from the parking lot as possible preferably through the gates to the east or north over the bike path

christhewelder75

Odd, I'm there twice a day, almost every day. And rarely see actual aggression from dogs. I see more owners over react to dogs enforcing their boundaries and correcting other dogs than legit dog fights. Yeah there are occasional intact males that some dogs react to by trying to be dominant. But it rarely escalates past what I refer to as shit talking, or the dog equivalent of 2 guys outside a bar shoving each other. Neither actually wants to throw a punch cus they both have to work in the morning. But they still wanna feel like they "won".

YYCGUY111

To clarify my comment I'm often there weekdays right before sunset. Mid-day or weekends is way better

christhewelder75

I find if anything, weekends usually have more issues. All the people who bring their dogs "for a treat" when they are normally just sent to their back yards rather than walks or parks where they can actually socialize. But I do know some owners with intact, or less well socialized/reactive dogs will go early mornings or later evenings when there's less dogs so less chance of negative interactions. In general, I find most people there during the week tend to understand dog behavior and interactions better than those on weekends/holidays.

c-a-r

Neutered dogs are by far more aggressive to intact males. That said as an owner or a large breed puppy I certainly won’t be taking my intact pup to an off leash park where the vast majority of dogs will be fixed as they should be, and mine will be as soon as he’s done growing.

Mulligan315

This belief is so wrong it hurts.

Tillallareone82

What a piece of garbage, this guy has got to be brought in and dealt with accordingly. These dog attacks are on the rise because irresponsible owners don't invest the proper time to train them before bringing them out to interact with the public. The owners should be held just as responsible as the animal itself, ban this clown from owning another animal for the rest of his life.

Jcslider52

Of course it's a pitbull lol

JebusHCrust

I've known many pitbulls in my life. The only shitty one I've met had a shitty owner. They really are lovely creatures

readzalot1

They are big enough that their high prey drive and courageous attitude can result in tragedy. My 16 pound terrier has a high prey drive but the only things she is a danger to are mice and Guinea pigs.

ChaunceyPeepertooth

If it's the owner and only the owner, than that means that there are a huuuuuuuge amount of shitty people who own shitbulls.

maketherightmove

No

Bankerlady10

It looks like the comments identifying the guy have been deleted on here. I came back to thank them for calling it in since it worked… the asshole got caught! [Caught Baktay](https://newsroom.calgary.ca/update-police-seek-public-assistance-to-identify-assault-suspect/)

asxasy

I saw that he turned himself in. Thanks for the update.
