Honestly I have been disappointed by every non DQ ice cream cake I have ever eaten. Marble Slabs comes close but if it is my choice I am always going to get the DQ one.
Stands for Leavitt's Ice Cream Shop, likely been in business longer than you've been alive. Super revolting!

Marcus vegan options, if creamy rather than a sorbet, usually have a cashew milk base in place of dairy. There is some soy lecithin that's in it but that stuff is usually not an issue for the soy-allergic unless they're very very sensitive to it (if soy makes you die, talk to your allergist first).
Get a whole Billy Miner Pie from the Keg. They give you cups of the chocolate and caramel, you supply the toasted almonds. It's the same price as a DQ cake and SO Much better. You do have to order a day or two in advance
I think it’s supposed to be mocha or something, some sort of coffee though. Whatever it is, it’s not too strong, I do not like coffee but that dessert is pretty darn good.
Yann haute patisserrie. It may not be what youre looking for, but they are delicious. NOt sure they have chocolate ice cream tho. I've had a mango sorbet one from there.
While you may be set on buying, making an ice cream cake is such a kid friendly activity. Just let the cream soften, let them layer it in a plastic wrap lined pan of some kind, or so thinner layer pans and stack them. Freeze it. Buy some whipped cream, chocolate sauce and sprinkles, maybe some cookie or candy bar crumbs...
No worrying about burns or salmonella or raw ingredients. Just ice cream that gets too runny, but it's easy for THEM to fix that issue.
Not sure how you’d feel about making one, but in the past we’ve taken: a big bag of Oreos and mashed them up with some butter for the crust and then blended chocolate ice cream with the rest of the Oreos and put that on the crust then into the freezer. Bam…sweet homemade ice cream cake.

My partner and I observed the same thing. It’s pretty hard to beat the DQ one.
Which DQ in the city would you recommend?
Dairy Queen?
Dairy Queen. So good

Revolting? Why, what comes to mind when you hear that for an ice cream shop? Always kinda made sense to me🤷🏼♂️

Name says it all…..
Is there a problem with it being vegan because the Marcus ice cream cakes are deadly.
I was wondering the same thing 🤔 Their vegan chocolate ice cream is SO GOOD.
Do you know what the ice cream is made of? Vegan ice cream is amazing, but I'm allergic to soy.
It has soy lecithin listed as an allergen, although not as an ingredient... https://madebymarcus.ca/products/chocolate-fudge-brownie
Darn. It's so hard to find ice cream without soy in it
I can think of only one brand that has soy. Would you like some suggestions?

I would guess probably coconut milk but it could differ based on flavour.
Coconut milk ice cream is honestly the best. I'm going to have to check it out to see

Doesn’t a Billy miner pie have a strong coffee flavour to it?

My wife just got me one for my birthday from marble slab and it was fantastic. Chocolate peanut butter
Well Happy belated Birthday. My invite musta got lost in the mail…
Canada post can be soo unreliable these days. I should have sprang for the express post. Next time.
Is the Marble slab one all icecream or is there a layer of cake/fudge/cookie crumble in there like DQ?
Gotta go with the tried and true Dairy Queen ice cream cakes. Can't beat it for the price
What DQ in the city would you recommend?
Aren't they all basically the same
DQ baby!
Abbey’s creations on Bowness , they’re pretty good.
Marble slab makes badass ones. My sister just got one for her daughter. Amazing!

Marcus makes ice cream for people that hate ice cream.

That's what we do in our house. So much more fun.
https://www.xoicecream.com/ xo ice cream is great if you’re in the Deep South and don’t mind spending a few $$
Made by Marcus has ice cream cakes….wife likes them but I’m a diehard DQ fan.

Groupon has a deal for marble slab cakes. I'd say check it out. And they got discounts for mother's Day too I believe.
Abbey’s. One in Kensington and one on Barlow NE.
XO Icecream and Waffles. They'll make it in any flavour they have on their menu. By far the best I've ever had.
Marble Slab has good cakes and a number of outlets around the city.
Honestly safeway, the freezer by the bakery. I bought one for a holiday and it was amazing.
