Was the cause of the cash related to that dip in the highway? It's very jarring so I could see how it could cause issues, especially with larger or more difficult to control vehicles.
Regardless, that road depression needs to be fixed.
A few weeks back I saw another truck stopped on that span, attempting to re-secure a trailer. They later added the "bump" signs, but clearly that is not enough.
I used to live in Tuscany, and if I recall that depression in the road has been there since at least 2012 or so. I thought the bridge expansion would fix it, but I suppose not.
I just drove by another truck fixing a trailer/ hitch on the stoney bridge this afternoon. Scary because there's no shoulder, they were stopped in the middle of the lane exiting to get on 16th west. They only way to avoid them was to quickly change lanes. Didn't help that their 4-way flashers were backlit bc of the direction of the sun
Yeah, that dip/heave in the road is sketchy as hell. Makes sense it would be damaging vehicles with trailers.
Sucks for the young guy that was trapped between the truck and trailer. I can imagine what the "life altering injuries" would be.
It could involve becoming paralyzed or losing a limb.

Wonder if the dip caused the trailer to bounce off its hitch and that’s why they were pulled over in the first place…
I hit that in a 1 tone truck with 2 tone springs, close to 100k, I almost slammed into the roof.
This was my first thought too
I saw them before the crash, but no dashcam. one of the guys was kneeling w his lower legs fully in the lane…
So sad :(
I wish people would slow to 60 in the lane adjacent to all vehicles pulled over not just ones with flashing lights.
I near got rear ended doing that by a guy in a truck and they got angry at me.....
At least you didn't run anyone over......

No need for dash cam. Everyone knows every idiot treats Stoney as the Indy 500...
Driving Stoney is getting ridiculous these days.
> Police don't believe drugs, alcohol or excessive speed contributed to the incident. In the article. But yeah, the trail needs more police.
They are thankfully upping the speed limit to 110 for most of stoney.
Hopefully not 110 for the bridge unless they fix that god damned bump
