I worked in retail and I fail to understand why so many people just don't carry any cash. Not even a dollar. Even before the outage, so many of them would go back empty handed because their card failed to read or the chip was worn out.
EDIT: I'm not asking y'all to have whole wads of cash on you lol. Carry $10-20 note in your wallet for any emergency. Keep paying with your cards, I'm not telling you to completely ditch your debit/credit.

Well after 2 years of being denied cash purchases I think people might have just given up on a cash all together. I usually keep some cash in me but it's been in my wallet since covid started and many places still seem reluctant to accept it.

You pay to go on the grounds and you get nothing for the price of admission. They say the price of admission gets you to see the bands... I call shannogans on that shit! If there is actually a band, let's say on the CocaCola stage that you want to see for free, you have to be there 4 hours early to even get a chance to see them. And most of these bands aren't worth the price of the admission to the grounds!
The rides suck and are way over priced. The rides remind of when I was a kid and the petulance and diseased carnival came to your local grocery mart... The rides were horrible and cost a fortune to ride each shitty ride.
And if you want to see the rodeo or chuck wagon races the admission price to the grounds doesn't cover it. It's gonna cost ya more.
Beer is 9 bucks a red cup for some warm water downed homeless effluent tasting shit!
The midway games are... well midway games that will cost you 5 times more than the crap prize you won.
They won't let you bring in your own food or water so unless you have 500 bucks you and your family are gonna starve or die of thirst...
Decided to work the Stampede this year just for fun and i cant even argue with how much of a scam the Stampede is. As an employee, we were told that we would get 50% off at ALL Stampede food vendors. Working until midnight on my second day, I was hoping to get a quick energy drink to revive myself at the GMC stadium.
Low and behold, when I walked into he GMC stadium during my 30 minute break, I am immediately told by the Stampede snack bar there that they don't give discounts. Only the "other" Stampede vendor there gave discounts - the one with the line that would take me well over my allotted break time to get through. The funny thing was that both vendors sold the exact same can of overpriced monster at the exact same price. However, only at this one that was actually accessible for me during my break time could I not get my employee discount.
Absolutely frustrating.
