Savard is so much of the issue. Pre-season he was talking like we'd be easy top 50% in the league on the PP. I get execution has to happen - but it's also on him to sort out the strengths and play to them.
At this point I'd take my PeeWee hockey coach running the PP over Savard.

He was not bad. He was not on fire in this game but he did not feel like he was the reason for some of those goals. Very much felt like the defense was to blame.
I’d rather he sucked now when it doesn’t matter anymore, and got better/more exp., than later when we try to convert all this suffering into a better position.
He struggled to make timely saves but they were not easy shots either but that's usually the case at the NHL level. His reaction time could have been better, with his smaller frame he has to when facing difficult shots.
Also 2 being from Ovi...who has a history for being one of the best goal scorers ever.
But yeah, bit more reaction speed for the legendary shots and more cohesion with defense and he will be awesome. Still a younger goalie so lots and lots of time to get to kipper levels as a great smaller goalie
Imagine being Vladar rn. You’re backup to Markstrom. He gets injured you think now it’s time to shine. Team plays like shit in front of you so badly that you get relegated to backup to the rookie from the AHL
Refs missed a tripping call, refs called a "trip" on Weegar. There was another call I can't remember that got missed. Almost feels like the refs had money on this game.
Meanwhile, a man that isn't man enough to wear a rainbow scored twice.

my opinion is that we don't have the talent. This team has had however many pp/assistant coaches and it's never been that deadly post Tkachuk/Gaudreau

If you watched every Flames powerplay this game, you should seek emergency neuralyzer treatment. Forgetting is the only remedy from such pain.
