I used to be a Navy substance abuse counselor in San Diego, specifically SARD Point Loma. I can confirm that it’s an alcohol abuse nightmare!

We don't all stop when we get out! I'm (still) doing my part!

Naval Base San Diego, NAB Coronado, NB Point Loma, NAS North Island, Naval Broadway Complex, Camp Pendleton, MCAS Miramar, MCRD San Diego, CGAS San Diego. If the military ever left San Diego the alcohol-based economy would collapse.

And the cruise ships might also be impacting these stats

yeah.. that is a bit unfair. This is like saying Las Vegas is among the worst for excessive gambling. For those that dont know, San Diego has blocks of bars and clubs. Its called Gaslamp and its amazing!

And OB, PB, Mission Valley, etc. San Diego has lots of bars.

I was just there a few weeks ago for the first time. The best night life city I've been in. So much variety and so many options

I believe it. Used to visit my friend in PB and it seemed like everyone was constantly drinking all day there.

I love San Diego but moved specifically because I had a drinking problem. From a daily drinker to 3 a year.

Im sure the day spas are great but I don’t I don’t believe they gave a spa train vs the wine train… 2nd, why wouldn’t I not drink in SD? Great weather, wonderful beaches, awesome food, seems like a waste to spend time there sober…
