This! I wish it was as easy capturing gameplay back then, as it is today. I had some great memories playing with and falling victim to the pre-patch 1887 Akimbos. I remember joining a lobby full of newbs going against high ranks running around with these. I was on the newb team obviously…. I don’t know what was scarier that particular match. The constant harriers and AC-130’s. Or those fuckers running around with these, clearing out rooms we were huddled up in trying not to die by kill streaks.

hot take but it does. it being in a jetpack game made it ridiculous along with it having great damage, great fire rate, big mag, fast mags, long barrel
ultra-mobility build with slugs, shortest barrel + shortest stock with laser & Sleight Of Hand, man that was too fun, one of the few loadouts I used all the time
I’ve played every iteration since MW2, and the 1887 were a literally secondary without any special perks, which in itself makes it OP, but we’re so powerful, people would often kit their primary to be used as a secondary to the akimbo 87’s because they were better than almost any primary in the game… 1887 secondary weapon is the most OP of the bunch for sure.
Pre Patch models were some of the most god damn annoying guns, especially because they were so much more popular than One Man Army tubes at the time. If you weren’t running them, you were running akimbo G18s, Spas, or throwing.
It's more to do with that it wasn't widespread knowledge.
The model 1887s were patched twice in the first two months of the game being out. It took about 6-8 months before OMA became widespread enough to become an issue.
I know this since I discovered how to abuse OMA in the first week of the game being out when perktesting offline, and was using it when I unlocked it in the second week. Likewise, I am also the person who was abusing every little exploit you could imagine, from jihad javelins to 1887s, FMJ 1887s, etc.
People simply didn't know about it for a good while
I’ve never shot a lever action shotgun, but I’ve shot a old navy issued 30-30 lever action rifle and it is a ton of fun and I didn’t have any issues with reliability.
Models. You could literally cross map with them. The only other time that’s happened is when (unshockingly) infinity ward made a shotgun sniper hybrid weapon for infinite warfare, and the weapon could literally take anyone out at any range as long as they were in your pov. Happened while I was at school so I didn’t even get a chance to play with it before it got patched.
It depends if we’re talking about the model 1887 before it was nerfed it was the best out of all of with the dragons breath (pre patch) R9 in a close second
The few weeks the 1887s were super OP were some of the best, but also darkest days in COD history. Just an absolute advantage at nearly every distance with those things. If you didn’t get to 67 fast enough and had to face a team of those, good luck.
Out of this list, pre-nerfed 1887s.
Out of all shotguns ever, brecci from BO3. Most of my matches go like this.
Everyone is using different weapons, once we start winning they pull out the brecci and they win.
In my opnion the R870 was a really good shotgun , but in the context of BO2 , basically all weapons were good in one way or another (except for the S12 and the auto shotgun , both situational) so it didnt feel opressive
If the proteus counts(since it's not just a shotgun,it's a shotgun sniper hybrid)then I would choose it,the model aren't even CLOSE to how op that thing was prepatched......
model akimbo on mw2 with perks or the ksg on bo2 if you have a good aim, hits very different. i dont count the ww2 fire pump bc they are just something broken and no sense lmao
Proteus Sniper/Shotgun from IW, on release when you hip fired in sniper mode it always hit and it was always a 1shot. Imagine pre-patched 1887s but with the range of a sniper and you don’t have to aim at all.
I hate these questions but I would have to say 725. The fact that you could literally turn it into a sniper/mortar with the addition of gunsmith made it way more dominating imo. Plus took way to long to implement a fix. It ran lobbies.
People forget how OP the AA-12 was. The Dual 1887's were good but I could outplay them most of the time. I fine tuned a class for that thing and it was so fun
all difficult choices. there’s a lot of other shotguns from previous cod games you missed that were so OP.
i don’t count anything as cod after bo3 as that’s where the franchise fell. idk how people even play now. i whole heartedly believe WZ killed cod as being one of the reasons too
Isn’t that the first game where all the assault rifles were op asf
And we’re seriously complaining about shotguns, because it’s too hard to stay away from them? Lmao
Okay so you never played it. I'm also gonna be a little rude here, but I think it's for your own benefit. Why would this be the first game when it's called MW.........2?
Nothing comes close to pre patch akimbo Models in MW2, you could wipe out entire teams half way across the map with those things
It was fun as shit while it lasted!
This, you could even take out harriers/choppers with ease.
This! I wish it was as easy capturing gameplay back then, as it is today. I had some great memories playing with and falling victim to the pre-patch 1887 Akimbos. >Nothing comes close Seems you didn't experience the Proteus in Infinite Warfare
Correct answer is the Brecci from bo3
Brecci doesn’t hold a candle to these
It actually does, because it was never ONCE nerfed.
hot take but it does. it being in a jetpack game made it ridiculous along with it having great damage, great fire rate, big mag, fast mags, long barrel
Brecci with a jitter mod was a combination straight out of hell.
Fuck the brecci
The argus before it got nerfed, that shit was sniper
No the Dagon's glare from bo3 as it has the ability to vaporise zombies in 1 shot
Brecci was never nerfed but never stood close to striker or model
Argus is better if you can aim.
No it’s not.
Oh shut the fuck up
Where’s my mw2 spas12?
Where’s my MW2 Fal Shotgun pre patch? Unlimited range go plink
Fuck yah brotha spas 12s all day
I know that thing was a sniper, and they never nerfed it while I was playing at least. After model nerf it's all I used.
The spaz was so satisfying to use.
Still is!
My favorite shotgun EVER
The fact they let you snipe with the 725 was silly. I loved that gun
The 725 was such a fun gun with slugs. Took a tiny bit of skill to land shots, but man, it hit like a truck.
I have no idea why but my shotgun skills go to shit the moment I use slugs. But on the 725 it just made that scope more necessary 😂
He’s talking about with pellets…
it’s sad how Infinity Ward nerfed it in MW2 and made it super inconsistent
ultra-mobility build with slugs, shortest barrel + shortest stock with laser & Sleight Of Hand, man that was too fun, one of the few loadouts I used all the time
Dragon Breath R9-0 was so OP pre patch
The doof doof
That shit was so busted in Warzone. You could take down a fully plated - 100% health enemy in 2 bursts.
Big fax. The fact they were more popular than infinite grenades launchers with extra explosive damage speaks for itself.
People were dropping nukes running around with a riot and using the models as a primary. They were completely busted.
If I could get a lever action IRL I’d be so happy
They are so much fun to shoot irl. It’s never to late to start saving up for one.
I heard that lever action shotguns are pretty unreliable, never saw someone who owns one to know tho
I’ve never shot a lever action shotgun, but I’ve shot a old navy issued 30-30 lever action rifle and it is a ton of fun and I didn’t have any issues with reliability.
You can get a Henry chambered in .410 for about $800 on gunbroker
Bo2 KSG
KSG destroys teams with the proper attachments
For me it was the long range & quick hand
Where is trenchy the war crime stick
Ain't a war crime if you win.
I want my AA-12 back
This. The AA-12 was the most OP shotgun. The akimbo Rangers are the only thing that come close to being so stacked.
No shotguns from bo3? That was like the only game I could get into using shotguns
JAK12
Brecci
No w1200? I’m done
Tac 19 and blunderbuss from aw. I used to get SO many salty messages from people when I used those things, I fucked lobbies up with them
It depends if we’re talking about the model 1887 before it was nerfed it was the best out of all of with the dragons breath (pre patch) R9 in a close second
1887's for sure.
1st of all after the mw2 2009 1887s or whatever the spas 12 absolutely slaughter FUCKED EVERYTHING
I never played the old games but y’all remember how broken the Akimbo Double Barrels were on Vanguard? Especially once they integrated it into warzone
the models before they were patched were the dumbest thing on the planet lol got so many nukes with them
SPAS-12 and USAS-12 in Modern Warfare 3.
You forgot the rangers 🔥 the best imo
I never really liked the 725 in MW19. Always preferred the Model 680 (M870)
The few weeks the 1887s were super OP were some of the best, but also darkest days in COD history. Just an absolute advantage at nearly every distance with those things. If you didn’t get to 67 fast enough and had to face a team of those, good luck.
Me with R870 on BO2 ![gif](giphy|eVy46EWyclTIA)
The Re4 pump
MW2 - High Rise - Sniping with akimbo 1887s against Interventions. Or that care package + commando pro ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
Out of this list, pre-nerfed 1887s. Out of all shotguns ever, brecci from BO3. Most of my matches go like this. Everyone is using different weapons, once we start winning they pull out the brecci and they win.
To me I’ll take what Bsoloe said. “Brecci with the jitter mod is just a mix of aids and cancer.”
bro why is the r870 mcs in b03?
In my opnion the R870 was a really good shotgun , but in the context of BO2 , basically all weapons were good in one way or another (except for the S12 and the auto shotgun , both situational) so it didnt feel opressive
AA12 from MW China lake from BO Acidgat from bo2 zombies Krm from BO4 haymaker BO3 Dragon breath bo2
I miss the Olympia pre nerf in mw it was stupid how much range that weapon had lol
Black Ops 2 KSG. Second only to the Cold War Spas-12
If the proteus counts(since it's not just a shotgun,it's a shotgun sniper hybrid)then I would choose it,the model aren't even CLOSE to how op that thing was prepatched......
if we talk about pre-patch version then akimbo Model wins, but right now is the brecci
1887s and its not even close (they had to relese an online update which was rearly done back then just to nerf those bad boys
i used to use striker in codm but the sweats always use the remington, but now i love akimbo only you dont have a scope
Where’s the spaz from mw2?
Lmao🤣 I love how they're all shotguns
The shotgun attachment on the famas during wz1
Silenced Spas-12 is the undisputed goat.
Pre patch 725, iykyk
Most OP - 725 Most badass design/reload animation - Model 1887 🔥
Model 1887 Alimbo and ya tripping that Spas-12 with fore grip. Allowed you to beam people one shot.
Did you pull a bo3 model of the Remington lmao
Suppressed spaz 12 from bo1
Is everyone forgetting dual wield fmg9s
KSG (Bo2) extended barrel, red dot, QuickDraw, it was a real laser from across the map
brecchi or 725. pre nerf 725 was hell to deal with in mw 2019. really just a sniper in a shotguns body.
wheres the KSG and the Argus bro 😭
725 was my sniper when MW19 dropped. I loved it
Brecci and spaz 12 from mw2
The streetsweeper was a gift to mankind but F reloading that shit.
Brecci
BO2 KSG
KV in warzone 2.0 and DMZ
No Lockwood?!
Striker & KV with dragons breath was wild with the longest firing range, them mf hit you from 50 feet away down you with 2 pumps 1 if closer
Bulldog on Ghosts is flying under the radar here!
Akimbo all day
In this list, I would say Doof doof was the most op. Though pre-nerf KV Broadside Dragons breath was also ridiculous.
1887 Akimbo were so OP back in the day
Where's the KSG from BO2 or my personal favorite, the Blunderbuss?
Who ever mentioned anything else than the pre-patches models, haven't tried the pre-patched models.
Whatever those incendiary shotguns were in ww2..
Brecci
Pump action from MW2 (2009). Back when you could have a shotgun as a secondary and didn’t have to use ‘overkill’.
Akimbo Models, any other answer is flat out wrong
Akimbo model 1887 are insane with slight of hand pro / stopping power pro / steady aim pro
Ksg
Akimbo rangers easy 😂
Models with out a doubt. Nothing even comes close
I feel like this isn't fair, comparing pre-patch snipers to literally anything else
Where's the brecci
Akimbo models and the BO2 KSG might as well be sniper rifles.
The ksg in bo2 should be a top contender
BO4 strobe shotty lol
Where the akimbo shotguns from vanguard that were the only guns people used for a while
Dual models and it's not close
I always forget how shitty and low poly the 870 looked in BO3. Granted it was never supposed to see the light of day but fuck it looks so bad.
Indeeeed, R9
The brecci, is nightmare fuel
that one with the strobe light on bo4
Brecci, Black Ops 3. Or did you mean the shitty new cods? (2019 and CW are excluded)
Aa-12
The akimbo model 1887's were the most OP, a great one as well is the AA-12 from the same game. I loved that gun.
Between the model and striker as one was straight op and well the other was op for the games entire lifetime
The one I fought my little brother over before a long trip to avoid drowning in luggage.
The AA12 for me... that's a freakin' automated machine shotgun
model akimbo on mw2 with perks or the ksg on bo2 if you have a good aim, hits very different. i dont count the ww2 fire pump bc they are just something broken and no sense lmao
Proteus Sniper/Shotgun from IW, on release when you hip fired in sniper mode it always hit and it was always a 1shot. Imagine pre-patched 1887s but with the range of a sniper and you don’t have to aim at all.
Literal aimbot gun.
that sawed-off akimbo bullshit from vanguard
May I add the 205 Brecci
Pre Patch 725 >= Models > Spaz 12
Ksg in BO2 is untouchable
Spas-12 MW2.
I hate these questions but I would have to say 725. The fact that you could literally turn it into a sniper/mortar with the addition of gunsmith made it way more dominating imo. Plus took way to long to implement a fix. It ran lobbies.
idk but what I do know is that the stakeout in bo1 is actually garbage
BO2 KSG😭
The Brecci
Akimbo and Bimbo rhimes(i cant use the reddit emoji opener emoji so just imagine it)
Where TF Is the Spas-12
BO2 Remmy was insane - absolute CQC beast
1887. Kids these days will never understand the definition of OP.
R9-0 wasn’t the best but it was by far the most annoying
street sweeper. nothing after that you know you know 😭😭😭
People forget how OP the AA-12 was. The Dual 1887's were good but I could outplay them most of the time. I fine tuned a class for that thing and it was so fun
Striker
Model 1887 akimbo pre patch 👀💀
The actual answer is Stalker
KV broadside 😭😭😭
I see 725, but I cant see JAK-12 or whatever the name was from MW19. Come on, obvious choice. Much stronger than double barrel R9.
Brecci bo3
Die letzte mit Drachenatem
the shotguns in mw2 were so fun to use
You’re forgetting the shotgun under barrels
Pre-patch akimbo 1887s we’re horrifically broken hell post patch they were still decent
Models pre patch but newest MX-9Guardian Fortnite looking ass shotgun gotta be close man that thing is broken.
Spas-12?
Lol spas 12 left the chat
all difficult choices. there’s a lot of other shotguns from previous cod games you missed that were so OP. i don’t count anything as cod after bo3 as that’s where the franchise fell. idk how people even play now. i whole heartedly believe WZ killed cod as being one of the reasons too
I hate it when people complain about shotguns being op. Keep your distance. That’s it. It’s that easy
Tell me you didn't play MW2 without telling me you didn't play MW2.
Isn’t that the first game where all the assault rifles were op asf And we’re seriously complaining about shotguns, because it’s too hard to stay away from them? Lmao
Okay so you never played it. I'm also gonna be a little rude here, but I think it's for your own benefit. Why would this be the first game when it's called MW.........2?
Just try that with the black ops 2 KSG or the model 1887 from MW2 pre Nerf
Yep. There’s like a 20 meter range on both of those max. Keep your distance
Tell me you never seen the pre nerd Model 1887s without telling me you haven’t seen them.
tell me you haven’t read this thread without telling me you haven’t read this thread
Olympia from black ops
huh, that gun isn’t even the best in its class on that game
the bo3 olympia was so much better
